Earl Samuel Miller, 81, of Meadowbrook Park, Muncy, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at the Muncy Valley Hospital Emergency Room.
He and his wife, the former Evelyn M. Miller, were married Sept. 8, 1944, she survives.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Wallis-Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be the Rev. William E. Rall, retired pastor of Pennsdale United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Albert J. (Abe) Poremsky
Albert J. (Abe) Poremsky, 78, of 2433 Lincoln Drive, Williamsport, formerly of Lock Haven, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at the Williamsport Hospital.
Born July 11, 1922 in Franklinville, he was the son of the late John A. and Almeda Archey Poremsky.
Funeral services will be at the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, Friday, June 15 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Theodore L. Cockley of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Williamsport. Burial will be in Dunnstown Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:30 until the time of service.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Boy Scout Troop No. 40 through the funeral home.

Thomas D. Forsyth
Thomas D. Forsyth, 77, formerly of Island Route, Lock Haven, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001 in Valley View Nursing Home.
Born April 27, 1924 in Houtzdale, he was the son of the late Fred C. and Jeanette McDonald Forsyth.
He and his wife, Charlotte R. Lehman Forsyth, were married in 1967. She survives.
Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are to be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Flemington.

Margaret Cox Smith
Margaret Cox Smith, 77, of Kephart Plaza, Lock Haven, died Monday, June 11, 2001 at the Lock Haven Hospital.
She was born Dec. 6, 1923 in Lock Haven, a daughter of the late Arthur and Clara Young Cox.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene H. Smith.
Private graveside services will take place at the convenience of the family. Helt Hanna Kline Funeral Home, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall is in charge of the arrangements.

Ida Anna Emma Kleinschmidt
Ida Anna Emma (Vogler) Kleinschmidt, 94, of West Water Street, Lock Haven, died Sunday, June 10, 2001 at home.
She was born Feb. 8, 1907 in Brohm/Mecklenberg, Germany, a daughter of the late Karl and Wilhemine Volger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Erich Kleinschmidt.
Arrangements are under the direction of Helt Hanna Kline Funeral Home, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall.
The family wishes memorial contributions to be made to the Lock Haven women’s shelter, Clinton County Women’s Center, 34 W. Main St., Lock Haven, Pa. 17745.

LOGANTON — Russell R. Barner, 96, of Loganton, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 in Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
He was born in Loganton on Aug. 27, 1904, a son of the late Grant U. and Sadie Fiddler Barner. He and Ruth Karstetter were married on Sept. 16, 1945 in Buffalo, N.Y. His wife preceded him in death.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2001, at Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren-Eastville. The Rev. Kenneth Geisewite will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from noon until the time of funeral Friday. Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 95 E. Main St., Loganton, is in charge of arrangements.

Albert J. Poremsky
WILLIAMSPORT — Albert J. (Abe) Poremsky, 2433 Lincoln Drive, Williamsport, formerly of Lock Haven, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at the Williamsport Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home of Lock Haven.

Marietta B. Myers
JERSEY SHORE — Marietta B. Myers, 92, of 1900 Cemetery St., Jersey Shore, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at her residence after a short illness.
She was born in Linden on Jan. 17, 1909, a daughter of Elmer and Bessie Martin Welch. Her husband, Oscar W. Myers died April 6, 1962. Funeral services will be held at the Lycoming Christian Church, 20 Chapel Hill Rd., Linden at 11 a.m. Friday June 15, 2001, with her pastor, Rev. Mark A. Beard officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ron Savits. Interment will be in Woodward Township Cemetery, Linden. Friends may call at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.,

Madeline B. Miller
JERSEY SHORE — Madeline B. Miller, 89, formerly of Chad Gardens, Jersey Shore, died Sunday, June 10, 2001, at Manor Care in Jersey Shore.
She was born in Jersey shore on Sept. 23, 1911, a daughter of Joseph A. and Belle Baker Bedford. Her husband, Lee C. Miller, died Dec. 7, 1971. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Andrew M. Barlock
JERSEY SHORE — Andrew M. (Andy) Barlock, 85, formerly of 100 Short St., Lock Haven, who died Monday, June 11, 2001 at ManorCare Health Center in Jersey Shore, was preceded in death by his second wife, Sophia Masorti Smith in 1995.

Helen Irene Wagner, a resident of Rose View Manor in Williamsport, entered into rest on June 10, 2001, at Rose View Manor.
She was born and raised in Logan Mills. She and her late husband, F. Lee Wagner, married on April 1, 1923, and lived in Williamsport until moving to Loganton in their remaining years together. F. Lee Wagner died in 1991.
Visitation will be held at the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, on Friday, June 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Saturday, June 16, at 11 a.m. A memorial luncheon will follow at the Gamble Farm Inn.
Memorial donations may be made to the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren, East Winter Road, Box 2290, Loganton, Pa. 17747.

Andrew M. Barlock
Mr. Andrew M. (Andy) Barlock, 85, formerly of 100 Short St., Lock Haven, died Monday, June 11, 2001 at ManorCare Health Center in Jersey Shore.
Born April 16, 1916 in Renovo, he was the son of Stephen Barlock and the former Julia Velbacki.
He was united in marriage to the former Charlotte A. Reed, who preceded him in death Dec. 10, 1970.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 15, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Father Andrew Hvozdovic will officiate.

Vernon R. Miller Sr.
Vernon R. Miller Sr., 66, of 417 Grape St., Castanea, died Sunday, June 10, 2001 at Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Feb. 8, 1935, in Flemington, he was the son of the late Jerry Miller and Gertrude Burd Miller of Jersey Shore.
His wife, Rose E. Miller, died April 30, 1997.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St. Flemington, with Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Clinton County SPCA.

Frances L. Warren
Frances Lucille (Seigel) Warren, 96, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 10, 2001, at Susque-View Home in Lock Haven, where she had been a guest for two years.
She was born in Jersey Shore, a daughter of George and Dora Noltee Seigel.
She was married to John E. Warren Sr., who passed away in 1975. They had been married 46 years.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 14, 2001, at 11 a.m. from the Jersey Shore Presbyterian Church, 235 S. Main St., Jersey Shore, with Rev. Kenneth Page officiating. Interment will be at Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. Her family suggests contributions be made to the Jersey Shore Presbyterian Church.

Ned N. Sweitzer
Ned N. Sweitzer, 82, of 4671 Rt. 44 Highway, died Monday, June 11, 2001 at his residence.
He was born in Rauchtown, Jan. 22, 1919, a son of David A. and Lula C. Welshans Sweitzer.
He was married to the former Harriet B. Fenstermaker on Dec. 19, 1942.
His wife Harriet, survives. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from St. James Lutheran Church in Rauchtown, with his paster, Rev. Dennis Crissman, officiating. Interment will be in Limestone Cemetery in Rauchtown. Friends may call at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Mary E. Riddles
Mary E. Riddles, 84, of Renovo, died at Bucktail Medical Center, Saturday, June 9, 2001.
She was born in Renovo, July 28, 1916, a daughter of the late Elmer and Helen Haschock Kennedy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Riddles, on Dec. 1, 1969. They were married in Renovo on Nov. 21, 1944.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, June 16 at 11 a.m. with Father Donald Boslett officiating. Interment will take place in North Bend Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to Mass.
Memorials are requested to the Bucktail Medical Center Expansion Fund. Maxwell Funeral Home of Renovo is in charge of arrangements.

Virginia “Mary” Murphy
Virginia “Mary” Murphy, 82, of Avis, died at ManorCare Health Services in Jersey Shore, Sunday, June 10, 2001.
She was born in Mill Hall on Jan. 10, 1919, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Phillips) Miller.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Summers, in 1972. She is survived by her present husband, Francis L. Murphy of Avis.
Funeral services will be at the Helt Hanna Kline Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Richard Cohoon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family will provide the flowers and requests memorials to the Alzehimer’s Association.

Esther K. Broughton, 81, of Crist Mobile Home Park, Avis, died early Sunday morning, June 10, 2001 in the ManorCare Health Center, Jersey Shore.
Born April 19, 1920 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of Lawrence R. Miller and the former Jennie L. Bennett.
She was united in marriage Nov. 3, 1930 to Woodrow W. Broughton. He preceded her in death Dec. 12, 1964.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 14, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Major Daniel E. Hilty will officiate.

ALLENTOWN — Henry M. Ryan, 78, of Kutztown, died Thursday, June 7, 2001 at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Born in Lock Haven, he served in the Navy in World War II and served as Dean of the College of Education at Kutztown University. He and wife Patricia O’Donnell Ryan were married 47 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at 9:15 a.m., St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church,14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Friends may call 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. at the church.

Ralph F. Miller Sr.
JERSEY SHORE — Ralph F. Miller Sr., 81, formerly of RR Lock Haven, died Friday, June 8, 2001 at ManorCare Health Services, Jersey Shore. He was born April 12, 1920 in Lock Haven, a son of the late Frank and Anna Phillips Miller.
He was married to the former Helen Marie Watkins who preceded him in death, Dec. 4, 1993.
Funeral services will be Sunday, June 10, 2001 at 8 p.m. at the Helt Hanna Kline Funeral Home, 232 Hogan Boulevard, Mill Hall with the Rev. Ellen Evans officiating. Private burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.

Hilda M. Wykoff
SOUTH RENOVO — Hilda M. Wykoff, 85, of Renovo, died at Bucktail Medical Center on Thursday, June 7, 2001.
Born on Dec.14, 1915 in Morristown, N.Y., she was of the Methodist faith, and was a past Worthy Matron of the Series Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
On March 28, 1953 she married Fred Wykoff, who survives. Visitation and a memorial funeral service will be held at a future date. Service time and date will be published. Memorials are requested to the Bucktail Medical Center Expansion Fund in Hilda’s memory. Maxwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy S. Peter, formerly of Merreyvale Apartments, Beech Creek, died Thursday, June 7, 2001 in the Lock Haven Hospital.
Born June 19, 1913 in Dents Run, she was the daughter of the late Lewis E. and Ethel J. Horning Schriver.
She was married to Joseph H. Peter. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2001 in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington. The Rev. Russel Moldovan will officiate. Interment will be in Blanchard Christian Cemetery. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Patricia A. Lucas
Patricia A. Lucas, 72, of Vero Beach, Fla., died unexpectedly, May 24, 2001 at her residence.
She was born May 11, 1929 in Williamsport, and moved to Vero Beach 29 years ago from Linden.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at the Woodward Township Cemetery, Linden, with Pastor Harry R. Yoder of the Christian Church at Cogan Station officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Jersey Shore.

Lillie R. Wolfe
Lillie R. Wolfe, 76, of East Park Street, Lock Haven, and formerly of Mackeyville for more than 30 years, died Thursday, June 7, 2001 at the Lock Haven Hospital.
She was born in Caldwell, Jan. 17, 1925, a daughter of the late Chance and Katherine Pepperman Bilbay.
She married Ellis C. Wolfe on Sept. 26, 1942 in Wheeling, W. Va. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary last September, he survives.
Funeral services will be at Helt Hanna Kline Funeral Home, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, Monday, June 11 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Jeffrey L. Bayliff officiating. Burial will be in Mount Bethel. Friends will be received Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Delmar P. Decker Jr.
Delmar P. Decker Jr., 71, of R.D. 1 Box 213, Ridgway, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001 at Elk Regional Health Center, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on July 19, 1929 in Lock Haven, a son of the late Delmar and Alta Bentz Decker.
On Jan. 1, 1948, he married Marian Selfe. She survives.
Funeral and committal services will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 9, 2001 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. David C. Roddy. Interment will be Oakmont Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home on Fridday, June 8, 2001 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church or the Ridgway Communty Nurse Service Inc.

Richard L. (Newt) Powers, 61, of R.R. 2 Lock Haven, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001 in the Williamsport Hospital.
Born April 23, 1940 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Edward H. and Betty J. Hockenberry Powers.
He was married to Mary Ann Reeder Powers on Jan. 6, 1962. She survives.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2001 in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington. The Rev. Marie Lewis will officiate. Interment will be in Swissdale Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, with Masonic services at 8:30 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Swissdale United Methodist Church.

Chester L. (Chet) Rankin
Chester L. ( Chet) Rankin, 60, of Bellefonte, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001 in Harrisburg.
Born Jan. 11, 1941 in Wildcat, near Rimersburg, he was a son of the late James Alcanna Rankin and Minnie Inis Walker Rankin.
Funeral services were held in January.

She was born in Loganton, Nov. 12, 1936, a daughter of Howard W. and Edna R. Fenstamaker Lamey.
She married Glenn H. Hiller on April 15, 1956. He survives.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 11, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. from the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. The Rev. Anke Deibler, her pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Edna M. Sanders
Edna M. Sanders, 88, of 618 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, died Tuesday in the Jersey Shore Hospital.
She was born in Newberry, Dec. 1, 1912, the daughter of James and Bertha Confer Krape.
She was the wife of Floyd H. Sanders, who died March 19, 1988.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday from the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with her pastor, David McCoy, officiating, assisted by retired Pastor Donald G. Nice. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from noon until 1 p.m.

James C. (Jim) Mallory
James C. (Jim) Mallory, 86, of Rebersburg, died Monday, June 4, 2001 in Centre Community Hospital, State College.
Born Aug. 14, 1914 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Charles B. and Lula Hess Mallory.
He was married to Nellie Dearborn on Sept. 9, 1945. She preceded in him in death Jan. 29, 1991.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Millheim. The Rev. Ronald J. Beistline will officiate. Burial will be in Evangelical Cemetery, Rebersburg. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, in care of Marie Glasgow, Rebersburg, Pa. 16872.

Frank S. Sharp, 90, of Venice, Fla. and Swannanoa, N.C., died Wednesday, May 30, 2001 in his home in Venice.
His wife of of 50 years, Brigitte Sharp, survives.
