MORSE - Funeral services for Snowwhite L. LeBlanc, 88, of Morse will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Donald Pousson, pastor, officiating. Mrs. LeBlanc died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Bayou Village Nursing Home in Crowley.
She is survived by a son, Elwood James “E.J.” LeBlanc and his wife Gloria of Crowley; three daughters, Bonnie L. Guillory of New Llano, Sandra L. Broussard and her husband Paul of Crowley and Charlene L. Kibodeaux and her husband Bernice of Brandon, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. LeBlanc was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis LeBlanc; a son, Ranald LeBlanc; a daughter, Mildred LeBlanc; a sister and four brothers.
Visitation will be observed from 1:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. Friday. A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday evening. Interment will be in the Istre Cemetery near Morse.

RAYNE – Laura Klummp Hoffpauir, 83, died at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at her residence in Rayne. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home in Rayne.

CROWLEY – John Smith, 68, died at 12:17 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2003 at American Legion Hospital in Crowley. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home.

Philomene “Mawma” Peck
In honor and memory of the world’s greatest mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother
CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel for Philomene “Toot” Consuelo Peck, 95, the former Philomene Guilbeau, who died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at 7 p.m. in Doctor’s Hospital in Opelousas.
Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau. Pastor Jeff Ables will officiate the services.
Musical selections will be provided by Marion Younger, Shirley Guillot and Gil Guillot, accompanied by Steven Younger on the organ. The songs will be “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace.”
Mrs. Peck was a native of Carencro and a resident of Sunset most of her life. She was a member of the Word Faith Center in New Iberia and co-owner and operator of Willie C. Peck Grocery of Sunset.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Olivier and her husband Preston of Sunset and Emithilde “Mat” Galicia and her husband Victor of Scott; six grandchildren, Glenda Olivier of Sunset, William James “Jim” Olivier of Lafayette, Sheri Bajat of Sunset, Vicky Blanchard of Crowley, George Anthony “Tony” Galicia of Lake Charles and John Peck of Leonville; 11 great grandchildren, Leah Wilson of Lafayette, Jamie and Stephanie Ladner of Lafayette, Britney and Brendon Bajat of Sunset, Justin Blanchard of Texas, Jonathan Blanchard of Ft. Benning, Joel and Joshua Blanchard of Crowley, Sean Peck of Leonville and Angela Daigle of Sunset; and three great grandchildren, Alexus Peck and Julia and Ashley Daigle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie C. Peck; two sisters, Julia Guilbeau and Therese Guilbeau; two brothers, Lucien and David Guilbeau, and a stepson, Carlton J.C. Peck.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be George Anthony Galicia, William James Olivier, John Peck, Steven Bajat, Crain Blanchard and Aubrey Leger. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Blanchard and Joel Blanchard.

Sandra Trahan Fontenot
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at St. Michael Catholic Church for Sandra Trahan Fontenot, 55, who died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at 2:37 a.m. at Lafayette General Hospital.
Visitation was held Monday from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
A rosary was prayed at 6:30 p.m. Monday evening led by Sr. Justina Baker.
Fr. James Nguyen will officiate for the funeral service. Burial will be in the Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Tamela Fontenot of Kaplan and Tammy Adams of Crowley; one son, Denis Fontenot Jr. of Crowley; one brother, Douglas Trahan of Crowley; three sisters, Berta Thibodeaux of Lafayette, Barbara Dopson of Opelousas and Bobbie Smith of Gueydan, and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Denis Fontenot, and her parents, Roy Trahan and Pearl Spell Trahan.

CROWLEY – Mrs. Lottie Henry, 92, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at Christian Villa Nursing Home in Crowley. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Israelite Baptist Church in Crowley. Burial will be in the West Crowley Cemetery under the direction of Owens-Thomas Funeral Home in Crowley.

RICHARD – Beulah LeJeune Labbie, 85, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at Eunice Manor in Eunice. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at St. Edward Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Guidry Funeral Home, Inc., 219 N. Broadway, Church Point.

CHURCH POINT – Mrs. Lionel Beverley Mounier Sr., 61, died at 10:10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Msgr. Bienvenue Cemetery under the direction of Guidry Funeral Home, Inc., 219 N. Broadway, Church Point.

Ronald Lee Mouton
Funeral services for Ronald Lee Mouton, 54, of Robert’s Cove were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2003 at Robert’s Cove Church of Christ with Evangelist Sterling Shinn officiating. Mr. MOuton died at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at his residence in Robert’s Cove. Burial was in Kie Hebert Cemetery in Robert’s Cove.
Mr. Mouton worked as a boilermaker in the oil industry for several years.
He is survived by two brother, Nelson Mouton of Crowley and Florentz Mouton of Baytown, TX.; two sisters, Gertie M. Trahan of Robert’s Cove and Faye M. Pemberton of Indiana and his mother, Lillian Cormier Mouton of Crowley.
He was preceded in death by his father, Morris Mouton, Sr., two brothers, Wade and Morris “MJ” Mouton, Jr. and a sister Betty Trahan.

Roland R. Guidry
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church of Mermentau for Roland R. Guidry, 62, who died January 24, 2003 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary was recited Saturday by Rev. Rusty Richard and one will be tonight at 7 p.m. by Russell Myers.
Mr. Guidry was a native of Mermentau and a resident there. He was maintenance supervisor for the Village of Mermentau.
Survivors include his wife, Sue B. Guidry of Mermentau; his mother, Eumaia C. Guidry of Morse; three sons, Bobby Guidry and his wife Trina of Mermentau, Ronald Langlinais and his wife Dana of Mermentau and Chad Langlinais and his wife Stephanie also of Mermentau; one daughter, Kisha Hendricks and her husband Patrick of Missouri City, TX.; six brothers, Harold Lee Guidry and his wife Betty of Mermentau, Melvin Guidry and his wife Jean of Jennings, Carroll Guidry and his wife Linda of Crowley, Roger Guidry and his wife Brenda of Mermentau, Jack Guidry and his wife Debra of Shreveport and Leslie Guidry and his wife Terrell of Mermentau; five sisters, Dale Boudreaux and her husband Kirby of Morse, Elaine Thibodeaux and her husband Ricky of MOrse, Sharon Broussard and her husband Rusty of Morse, Pam Leleux and her husband Marcus of Lyons Point and Becky Ruddell and her husband Terry of Longview, TX.; 10 grandchildren, Tresa Guidry, Traven Guidry, Ashlyn Hendricks, Cameron Hendricks, Cadan Hendricks, Amber Langlinais, Tiisha Langlinais, Chad Langlinais, Jr.,, Dustin Langlainais and Blake Langlinais.
He was preceded in death by his father Harold Guidry and one brother, Jessie Guidry, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Harold Guidry, Melvin Guidry, Carroll Guidry, Roger Guidry, Jack Guidry and Leslie Guidry. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Guidry, Jr., and Sheeney Gauthreaux.

Ethel D. Aguillard
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 25, 2003 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Ethel Dies Aguillard, 73, who died at 6:22 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2003 at Our Lady of LOurdes Medical Center in Lafayette. Fr. Joe Greenwell officiated at the services.
She is survived by three daughters, Edrie Durio of Lake Charles, Betty Daigle of Crowley and Brenda Buezo of Kenner; two sons, Michael Aguillard of Gauthier, MS and Russell Aguillard of Perdido Beach, AL; two sisters, Mabel Cormier and Theresa Perusin, both of Crowley and a brother, Clyde Dies, also of Crowley, twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Aguillard was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Aguillard, a daughter, Barbara Aguillard, two sisters and a brother.
A rosary was recited Friday evening.

Hilda F. Thibodeaux
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 27, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Hilda Faulk Thibodeaux, who died Friday, January 24 at 11:40 p.m. at the Crowley Guest Home. Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Rev. Roger Tarver will officiate for the services and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Hilda was born December 21, 1913 in Crowley. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilton and son, Wilton Joseph “Dubby” Thibodeaux, one brother, Myrl Faulk and sisters, Jackie Faulk Hoffpauir and Lolly Faulk Todd. She is survived by brothers Reginald of Texas City, Tx. and Darrell of Crowley along with many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Crowley and served as a Pink Lady at American Legion Hospital. She also volunteered at the Christian care Center.
The family expresses appreciation to all of her friends and relatives who came to her when she needed help, especially her loving neighbor, Mrs. Callie Smith. Hilda will be remembered for her caring ways and beautiful smile.
Memorials may be made to Crowley First Baptist Church.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point.

CROWLEY - Mary Leotha Moore, 89, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at her residence in Crowley. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. Theresa Catholic Church with burial to follow in the South Crowley Cemetery under the direction of Owens-Thomas Funeral Home, Crowley Branch.

Beryl Dore’ Lanier
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church for Beryl Doré Lanier, 90, who died Tuesdya, Jan. 21, 2003, at Landmark Inc. in Crowley.
Visitation may be observed Wednesday from 4 until 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
She is survived by four nieces Diane D. MacDonell of Amelia Island, Fla., Judy D. Waligura of El Campo, Texas, Hilda D. Keigley of Lafayette, and Phyllis D. Pinac of Crowley; two nephews, A.B. “Al” Doré III of Crowley and J. Elliot Doré of Crowley; 17 great nieces and nephews and 6 great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Lanier; her parents, A.B. and Alice Daigle Doré Sr.; and, one brother, A.B. Doré Jr.
Mrs. Lanier was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and a “Lady Knight” of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepluchre of Jerusalem. She was also one of the original stockholders of the Cimmer Corporation.
Pallbearers will be Al Doré, Elliot Doré, Dennis “Mac” MacDonell, Randy Waligura, Scot MacDonell, and Alex Doré.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Waligura, Trey Keigley and Aaron Doré.

Mrs. Wittie C. Wilridge
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church for Mrs. Wittie C. Wilridge, 100, who died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Christian Villa Nursing Home in Crowley.
Wake services will be held between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Burial will be in Maryland Chapel Cemetery in Branch with Rev. Keith Matthews officiating.
She is survived by a son, Homer Wilridge Sr. of Crowley; three daughters, Roseida Gilbeaux and Goldie Bray of Jennings and Addie Handy of Crowley; three sisters, Annie C. Fusilier, Rosa C. Harmon and Ruby C. Smith, all of Crowley; 29 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

John Wesley Bullard Jr.
Funeral services for John Wesley Bullard Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, in the Chapel at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until the time of services Thursday.
Mr. Bullard died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at his residence in Lafayette.
He is survived by his wife, Sula Jones Bullard of Lafayette; two sons, Steven Wayne Bullard and his wife Renea of Picayune, Miss., and Kenneth C. Bullard and his wife Robin of Lafayette; one daughter, Christine Eberhardt and her husband David of Lamont, Ill.; one aunt, Mrs. Bertha Camp of Conyers, Ga.; six grandchildren, Brian Eberhardt, Stephanie, Rebecca and Joshua Bullard and Jennifer and Nicholas Bullard; and two great grandchildren, Catlyn and Brennan Eberhardt.
Mr. Bullard was a member of Masonic Lodge 235 in Crowley. He attended SLI and retired from Conoco after 30-plus years as production superintendent.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason of York Rights and Scottish Rights. He was the organizer of Pioneer Oil People in Lafayette and a member of Conoco Retirees.

Emma “Tutty Girl” Duhon
Funeral services for Emma “Tutty Girl” Duhon, 64, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
The Rev. Joseph Greenwell officiated the burial at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley.
Visitation was from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tuesday and continued from 8 a.m. until the time of the services Wednesday afternoon.
Mrs. Duhon died at 1:05 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Crowley Guest Home.
Survivors include three sons, Robert “Chopper” Duhon of Estherwood and Emile “Brother” Duhon Jr. and Randy P. Duhon, both of Crowley; two daughters, Lisa A. Duhon and Donna L. Duhon, both of Estherwood; four brothers, Eddie Breaux and Wilbert “T-Snook” Breaux, both of Lyons Point, and Curtis Breaux and Willie “Sonny” Breaux, both of Texas; two sisters, Grace “Nookie” Bourque of Broussard and Ludy Bell “Tut” Bourque of Duson; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mrs. Duhon was preceded in death by her husband, Emile “Boo Boo” Duhon Sr.; her parents, Martin and Louise Gautreaux Breaux; two brothers, LeRoy Breaux and Joe Breaux; and a sister, Edna Simon.

S.J. “Jack” Vincent
RAYNE - Funeral services for S.J. “Jack” Vincent will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church
Interment will be in the church mausoleum. Visitation will be at Gossen Funeral Home Wednesday from 4 until 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
A rice farmer, Mr. Vincent died at his home in Rayne on Monday, Jan. 20, 2003.
Mr. Vincent was born in Vinton. After working in the oil industry for several years, he moved to Rayne in 1939.
He was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Hulin Vincent.
He is survived by two sons and their wives, Leslie Dale and Barbara, and Douglas Lee and Kerry Vincent; four grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
The family request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Rayne Fire Department or Hospice of Acadiana.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc., 504 N. Polk St., Rayne.

CROWLEY – Harry Navarre Sr., 93, died at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.

ALABAMA – Pearl Truelove Tesney, 82, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 at Crowley Guest House. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Clay Memorial Cemetery in Cuba, Ala. Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley is in charge of the arrangements.

Lee Roy Trahan
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at 3 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Lee Roy Trahan, 60, who died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Fr. Bill Rokowski will officiate for the services. Visitation may be observed Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Richard Trahan of Crowley; one son, Brian Keith Trahan of Crowley; three daughters, Katherine Trahan Habetz and her husband Kevin of Rayne, Kellie Trahan May and her husband Lawney Jr. of Egan and Crystal Nicole Trahan of Crowley; one brother, Douglas Trahan of Crowley; three sisters, Barbara Dopson of Opelousas, Bobbie Smith of Gueydan and Sandie Fontenot of Crowley; and three grandchildren, Haley Paige Habetz and Kyler Paul Habetz, both of Rayne, and Cameron James May of Egan.
Mr. Trahan is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Pearl Spell Trahan, and one brother, Curtis Trahan.

Daniel J. Stelly
Funeral services are pending for 10 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2003 at St. Michael Catholic Church for Daniel Joseph “Dan” Stelly who died on January 20, 2003 at his residence in Crowley.
Visitation may be observed Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
He is survived by one daughter, Kaniqua Sibley of Crowley; ne brother, Lloyd Stelly i=of Baton Rouge; one sister-in-law, Billie Stelly of Baton Rouge; and one grandson, Shawntarious Sibley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stelly is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Martha Broussard Stelly; one sister, Ruby Hicks; and two brothers, Joe Stelly, Jr. and Robert Stelly.
Mr. Dan served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

John E. Francois, Sr.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for John Ernest Francois, Sr., 86, who died January 19, 2003 at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Father David Broussard will officiate for the services. Visitation will be observed from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Iota.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bernadette “Billie” P. Francois of Iota; one daughter, Jana Francois of New Braunfels, TX; one son, Ernie Francois, Jr. of Iota and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Francois is preceded in death by his parents, J.S. and Josephine Deaville Francois, three brothers,m James Francois, Sr., Sidney Francois and Loney Francois; and one sister, Mary Lou Goss.
Mr. Ernest served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion and Knights of Columbus in Iota.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2003, at duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Azolin Primeaux, 64, of Kaplan who died at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Lafayette.
Visitation will be observed Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Primeaux of Kaplan; three sons, William Lyon of Lafayette, Richard Lyon of Greenwood, Miss. and Dennis Thibodeaux of St. Martinville; one daughter, Melissa Primeaux Spaulding of South Haven, Miss.; one sister, Loynice Trahan of Crowley; three brothers, Huey Primeaux of Kaplan, Etienne Primeaux of Lake Charles and Wilfred Primeaux of Patterson, and 13 grandchildren.
Mr. Primeaux was preceded in death by a son, Richard Dale Primeaux; his parents, Henry and Aspasie Trahan Primeaux; two brothers, Nelson and Allison Primeaux; two sisters, Alexandria Hoffpauir and Eunice Roy Necez Vondenstein.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era as a paratrooper and was retired from the oilfield after 40 years of service.

Sister Stephen LeLeux, M.H.S.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the Bethany Chapel for Sister Stephen Leleux, M.H.S., 74, who died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at 5:25 p.m. at the Bethany M.H.S. Health Care Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
The Very Rev. Monsignor Frederick Swenson , VE , Pastor of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the services.
Survivors include one brother, Enos Leleux and his spouse, Dorothy of Crowley; three nieces, Shirley Menard, Vickie Leleux and Carolyn Simoneaux; and three nephews, A.D. Foreman Jr., Richard Foreman and Patrick Leleux.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Numa B. and Merilda Istre Leleux; one brother, Lanis Leleux; and two sisters, Enolia L. LeBlanc and Mamie L. Foreman.
A native of Lyons Point and a resident of Lafayette, Sister Leleux was a graduate of St. Michael Elementary and High School in Crowley. She received a bachelor of science degree in education from Loyola University in New Orleans and a master of arts degree in educational psychology from Catholic University in Washington, D.C.
Sister Leleux’s teaching assignments were at St. Bernard Elementary in Breaux Bridge, three years at Annunciation in New Orleans, eight years at Blessed Sacrament in Birmingham, Alabama, seven years at Our Lady of Fatima in Lafayette, 10 years as principal at St. Michael’s in Crowley and also served as Superior of the Convent for seven years.
She served in Pastoral Care for 10 years and as Religion Coordinator for one year at St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley and also served as Director of Evangelization for five years at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott.
She spent two years caring for her sister, Mamie and the last two years was spent living at St. Anne Annex in Lafayette. She was a volunteer Eucharistic Minister for Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital until May 2002.
Sister Leleux was recognized and honored by St. Michael’s Parish, the city of Crowley and the Diocese of Lafayette for her work with the poor. She organized and coordinated efforts which resulted in the Christian Care Center.
A rosary will be prayed Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
The family has requested visiting hours be observed on Tuesday from 6 until 9 p.m. at Martin & Castille Funeral Home and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time of services at Bethany.
Pallbearers are Richard Foreman, A. D. Foreman Jr., Pat Leleux, David Foreman, Lynn Menard and Troy Foreman.
Honorary pallbearers are Bobby John and Harold Menard.

Errol William Guidry
LAFAYETTE - Errol William Guidry went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 12:42 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2003. He had received a lung transplant on Jan. 16, 2000 and fought valiantly to care for the gift of life, which had been given to him.
A Celebration Life Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003 at 2 p.m. with a reception following at the Family Life Christian Fellowship, 2223 Dulles Dr., Lafayette, LA 70506.
A native of Mermentau and a resident of Lafayette for the past 15 years, Errol worked as a health insurance agent with Physician’s Mutual Insurance Co. prior to his retirement. He spent much of his life in the rice industry as a rice grader and dryer.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of nearly 10 years, Brenda Credeur Guidry of Scott; one son, Errol William “Bill” Guidry II and his wife Dawn of Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters, Christine Foreman and her husband Danny of Broussard, Carol Boudreaux and her husband Donovan of Lafayette and Rachelle Guidry of Denham Springs; one step son, Charles “Chuck” Naomi II of Scott; two step daughters, Melissa “Lisa” Hanks and her husband Dickey of Walker and Joleen Naomi of Carencro; two brothers, Bennett Guidry and Steve Guidry, both of Mermentau, and one sister, Virginia Hebert of Egan.
He has left to cherish his memory six grandchildren, Leah and Lance Roy, Alexandra Guidry, Michael and Matthew Boudreaux and Daniel Foreman; six step-grandchildren, Chad Appleby, Gage and Jacob Boudoin, Emily Hanks, Dylan Guillot and Caroline Naomi, and the mother of his four children, Marie Thibodeaux Smith of Jennings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Mercedes Duhon Guidry of Mermentau; one brother, Chester Calvin Guidry, and three infant sisters, Cynthia, Christina and Bernadette Guidry.

She is survived by her children, Chester J. Freeland of Welsh, Cecelia F. Brock of Corbin, Ky., Jessie B. Freeland of Welsh, John Ed Freeland Jr. of Welsh, Florence F. Beard of Welsh, James L. Freeland of Welsh and Betty F. Salassi of Lafayette; a sister, Dana Beatty of Abbeville; 19 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Freeland is preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Freeland Sr., and an infant son, Paul David Freeland.
She was a native of St. Louis, Mo. and had moved to Crowley in 1943 and had lived in Welsh for 17 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Welsh and treasurer of Women of Church for several years. She was a lifetime member of the Crowley Chapter of the Eastern Star and was a homemaker and an avid gardener, keeping her own flower beds while receiving the Garden of the Month Award from the Town of Welsh.

Funeral services for Glennda Iglinsky Trahan, 64, of Crowley will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley with Fr. Gary Schexnayder, pastor, officiating.
Mrs. Trahan died at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #1 in January.
Mrs. Trahan worked in the legal field for 45 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Roxanna Schneider and her husband Travis of Evangeline and Chassie Broussard and her husband Charles of Crowley; a son, Ty Trahan and his wife Laura of Baton Rouge; her mother, Edna Miller Iglinsky of Lilburn, Ga.; two brothers, David Iglinsky of Lilburn, Ga. and James “Jimmy” Iglinsky of Madison, Ga.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry June Iglinsky.
Visitation will be observed from 9:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday and again from 8 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Fortier Guidry of Church Point; two sons, John Terry Guidry Jr. and Reggie Guidry, both of Church Point; three daughters, Elodie Elkins, Rose Mary Meche and Nita Savoy, all of Church Point; three sisters, Betty Bush of Rayne, Donna Onebane and Nelda Fontenot, both of Church Point; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Nita Horecky Guidry; first wife, Urline Melancon Guidry, and one brother, Owen Guidry.
Mr. Guidry was past vice president and a member of the Board of Directors of Horecky Motors Ford dealership in Church Point. He served as a Board of Director of the Church Pint Wholesale Grocery Co., Inc. and Farmers State Bank and Trust Co. in Church Point, and as president and board member of Guidry Land Co., Inc. He also served in the United States Marines during World War II in the South Pacific.
He served on the Democratic Executive Committee from 1972 to 1979 and as a member of the Acadia Parish Library Board from 1980 to 1985. He was a current member of the Church Point Housing Authority Board, the Msgr. C.A. Bienvenue Knights of Columbus Council #2504 of C.P. La. and held the positions of Grand Knight, Deputy Grand Knight and Financial Secretary. He was also a member of American Legion Post 225 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9903, both of Church Point. He was a founding member of the Church Point Little League and the Pee Wee Football League.

Mrs. Fleming died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at her residence, surrounded by members of her family.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, John M. and Margaret Fleming of Metairie, and Stephen P. and Susan Landstreet Fleming of Beacon, N.Y.; one grandson, Brian P. Fleming of Macon, Ga.; two sister, Mable Bonin of Rayne, and Delia Bonin Link of Richard.
Mrs. Fleming was born March 4, 1917, in Rayne, the daughter of the late Octave Paul “Jack” and Mayme Pucheu Bonin. She was married in 1946 to the late Laurence Joseph Fleming.
She received her early education at Mount Carmel Convent in Rayne (1922-30) and graduated from St. Joseph High School in Rayne in 1934.
She received a bachelor of arts degree in general studies in 1985.
The first International Rice Festival Queen in 1937, Mrs. Fleming was a Staff Sergeant in the Women’s Air Corps during World War II, serving from 1942 through 1945.
She served as Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America in West Chicago, Ill, from 1962 - 64, was a member of the Acadia-Vermilion Community Action Program in 1972, president of the St. Joseph Ladies Altar Society (1989-90), Commander of Arceneaux Post 77, American Legion (1991-92) and president of the Rayne Garden Club (1995-97).
Mrs. Fleming was awarded the Circle of Roses award and was Project Chairman for the City of Rayne Garden Club Landscape Enhancement project from 1996 through 1999.
Pallbearers and Honor Guard will be member of Arceneaux Post 77, American Legion.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana.

Errol W. Faulk
On Jan. 9, 2003, the heavens parted and Errol W. Faulk was lifted by be loving arms of Jesus into the place where there is no pain, only peace.
Born Oct. 25, 1947, he was 55 and a resident of Indian Bayou.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories and carry on his legacy his beloved wife, Wanda LeDoux Faulk; one daughter, Laurie A. Faulk of Broussard; two sons, Robby W. Faulk and Joshua L. Faulk, both of Indian Bayou; his mother, Alma P. Faulk of Crowley; two sisters, Trevlyn Faulk of Crowley and Jackie Schnee of Lake Charles; and four brothers, Eddie Faulk of Orange, Texas, Joel Faulk of Colorado Springs, Colo., Malcolm Faulk of Lake Charles and Andy Faulk of Crowley. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Robert Gordon and Almeda LeDoux, and 19 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Dempsey Faulk, and his niece, Emili Faulk.
From 1968 to 1974, Errol served with the U.S. Army as a medical specialist. He was a member of the Indian Bayou Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years, serving as chief from 1966 until 2001. Errol was also a member of the Indian Bayou United Methodist Church and a member of the Cajun Hunting Retriever Club. He was a self-employed farmer.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Indian Bayou United Methodist Church. Visitation will be observed at the church from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be his four brothers and Jesse Lanclos and Riley Comeaux. Honorary pallbearer is Cary Bastian, his nephew whom he thought of as a son.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Drs. Meza, Cain, Johnson and Bostick and their wonderfully caring staffs for their friendship and compassion during Errol’s illness. Errol lived life to the fullest, was always willing to help others, had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger. He was a great man.

From 1958 to 1969, he was a field inspector, purchasing agent and maintenance engineer for the Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital in Kaplan. He also served as the Past Faithful Pursor for the Fourth Degree George Mollo Assembly and served as president for the Egan Volunteer Fire Department.

LAWTELL – Marie Miller Thibodeaux, 81, died at 11:50 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2002 at Opelousas General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church mausoleum under the direction of Guidry Funeral Home of Church Point.

CHURCH POINT – Mrs. Paul Winn, nee Mary Nid Matte, 83, died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Guidry Funeral Home.

Horace Patin
ESTHERWOOD - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church for Horace Patin, 78, who died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at his residence in Estherwood.
Msgr. Russell Harrington will officiate for the services. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Visitation will be observed Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
He is survived by one son, Keith Bubba” Patin and his wife Emily Arceneaux of Crowley; two daughters, Patsy P. Pinson and her husband Gary of Lake Charles and Phyllis P. Dubose and her husband Pusher of Galvez; one brother, Armond “Sonny” Patin of Winter Park, Fla.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mr. Patin is preceded in death by his wife, Menia Schexneider Patin; his parents, Clifford and Lillian Miller Patin, and one sister, Lou Ella Louviere.

Elgie “Zee Boy” Deshotel
EVANGELINE - Funeral services were held in Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Iota Saturday, January 4, 2003 at 2 p.m. for Elgie “Zee Boy” Deshotel, 61, who died Thursday, January 2, 2003 at American Legion Hospital in Crowley. Burial was in Millerville Cemetery.
Mr. Deshotel was a commercial trapper and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Doucet Deshotel of Lake Arthur, his father, Adam Hugh Deshotel of Jennings; one son, Browkller J. Deshotel of Iota; five brothers, Charles Leckelt, Velton Leckelt, Malcolm Leckelt and David Leckelt all of Iota and Ray Leckelt of Church POint; two sisters, Mona Quibodeaux of Iota and Betty Faye Deshotel Grass of New Orleans; one granddaughter, Angel Deshotel of Evangeline and three great-grandchildren, Dillon Drake and Donnvyn Drake Deshotel and Sibrina Page Hargrave all of Evangeline.
Mr. Deshotel was preceded in death by his mother, Opal D. Leckelt, one sister, Elugenia Leckelt and four brothers, Joseph Leckelt, Sidney Orillion, Richard Deshotel and Curtis Deshotel.

Rebecca “Becky” Waltrip
JENNINGS- Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, January 5, 2003, at Matthews and Sons Funeral Home Chapel for Rebecca “Becky Waltrip, 64, who died January 3, 2003 at Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge. Rev. Col. Colin Fake will officiate at the services and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
A native of Morse, Waltrip was a resident of Jennings and was a beautician for Block Off Broadway Community Theater.
Visitation will be today from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
Survivors include her father, Ites “Black” Bertrand of Morse; four sons, Kim D. Istre of Gueydan, John “Boo” Istre and his fiancee June of Gueydan, Brian Istre and his wife Donna of Gueydan and Lorne J. Istre and his wife Mikki of Chicago; one brother, Stacy Bertrand and his wife Carlina of Crowley; two sisters, Geraldine Wright and her husband Earl of Lake Charles and Rachel Rizzuto and her husband Bob of Gueydan; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Blaise Istre, Beau Istre, John Istre, David Istre, Lin Fake and Shawn Wright.

Neil A. Fruge
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Neil Alexander Fruge, 27, who died Thursday, January 2, 2003 at his residence in San Francisco, CA.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. Burial will be in the Old Crowley Cemetery. A rosary will be recited Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will be observed from 5-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the services.
Survivors include his parents, Philip and Kay Hoffpauer Fruge of Crowley; two sisters, Leah Fruge of Lafayette and Charlotte Fruge of Baton Rouge; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William “Bill” Hoffpauer of Crowley; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Dan J. (Yvonne) Fruge of Crowley and maternal great-grandmother, Katie DuBus of Crowley.
Neil was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dan J. Fruge.
The family request memorial contributions be made to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 224 West 5th Street, Crowley, La. or First United Methodist Church, 321 East 3rd Street, Crowley, La.

Ollie Miller
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2003 in First United Pentecostal Church for Ollie Miller, 76, of Evangeline who died January 4, 2003 at St. Patrick’s Hospital. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery.
She was a native and a resident of Evangeline and very faithful to her church.
Visitation will be today at 10 a.m. and at 1 p.m. Monday she will be moved to the First Pentecostal Church in Evangeline.
Survivors include three sons, Tarry Miller of Evangeline, Lynn Miller and his wife Phoebe of Evangeline and Greg Miller and his wife Brenda of Rayne; one sister, Magnes (Toot) Bullock of Evangeline and 14 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Meriall Simar, her husband Clyde Miller, a son Clyde Miller, a granddaughter, Shelly Lynn Miller, grandson, Matthew Lynn Miller, three brothers, Cleveland, Wilford “BB” and Bernard Simar and three sisters, Eula Babb, Alian Abraham and Lillia Mae Lacombe.
Matthews and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Olida Trahan
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6, 2003 at 2 p.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Mrs. Olida Trahan, 59, who died Friday, January 3, 2003 at Eunice Community Medical Center. Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
Survivors include three sons, David and Roxanne Trahan of Milton, Scotty and Nancy Trahan of Crowley and Timothy and Kelly Trahan of Crowley; two daughters, Linda and James Abshire of Crowley and Cynthia and Kenneth Laughlin of Crowley; three stepsons, Charles and Debbie Trahan of Crowley, Randall and Tamica Trahan of Crowley and Greg Bertrand of Crowley; two stepdaughters, Daraleen and Melvin Welch of Crowley and Brenda and Arthur Romero also of Crowley; one brother, Issac Deaville, Jr. of Livingston, Texas and five sisters, Mary Lou Jordan of Houston, Julia Mae Murphy of Eunice, Henrietta Thibodeaux of Eunice, Velva Dean Stanford of Eunice and Sylvia Adkins of Eunice; 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Angella (Bellice) Trahan, one grandchild and one great-grandchild; her parents Julia and Issac Deaville and two brothers, Lee Earl and Henry Deaville.

Myrtle Killmer
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, January 5, 2003 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Bollich officiating, for Myrtle Marie Fisher Killmer, 98, of Crowley. Mrs. Killmer died at 8:30 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2003 at Our Lady of the Oaks Nursing Home in Lafayette.
She is survived by four daughters, Carmen Killmer Boulet of Abbeville, Olga Killmer Schneider of Lafayette, Henrietta Killmer Brasino of Crowley and Lottie Killmer Leszczynski of Norwalk, CA; a son, Marvin J. Killmer of Centennial, CO; a brother, Culver Fisher of Baton Rouge and a sister, Maisie Fisher Strahan of New Orleans; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry J. Killmer, her second husband, Jacob Adolf, her parents, Daniel Ippen Fisher and Lucy Miller Fisher, five brothers, Daniel Jr., Lloyd, Bryant, Grant, and Percy Fisher, and a sister, Beatrice Fisher Toups.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. today until the time of services. Interment will be in Maxie Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Winnie M. Richard of Morse; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Humble of Morse and her husband John, Sr.; one sister, Louise Richard of Crowley; four grandchildren, Bill Humble and wife Jerrilyn, Priscilla Carlson and husband Allen, James Humble, Alvin Humble and wife Roxanne; eight great-grandchildren, Sophie Istre and husband Terrell, Brandon Carlson and wife Renee, Tara Carlson, Chris Humble and wife Leah, Andrea Simon and husband Jason, Richard Humble, William Humble and Alexa Rae Humble; six great-great grandchildren, Terrel Istre, Jasi Istre, Rayli Istre, Micha Carlson, Gabriel Carlson, Alexander Simon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolzie and Donetile Richard, five brother, Joseph, Roy, Elias, Wilbert and Caston Richard, two sisters, Lydia Broussard and Edia Monceaux and one grandson, Richard Humble.
Pallbearers will be Jim Humble, Alvin Humble, Christopher Humble, William Humble, Richard Humble, Brandon Carlson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Simon and Terrel Istre.

CHURCH PT.– Mrs. Offord Richard, 66 died Saturday, January 4, 2003 at Opelousas General Hospital. Services will be today at 3 p.m. in Church of the Assumption in Mire with burial in the church cemetery.

Kearney Hanks Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2003 at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Kearney Hanks Jr., 54, who died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, at his residence in Crowley.
Burial will be in the North Hanks Cemetery with Fr. Joseph Greenwell officiating.
A rosary was held at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Visitation began at 4 p.m. Thursday until 10 p.m., and again on Friday at 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
He is survived by a special companion, Mary Matte of Crowley; his wife, Betty Hanks of Crowley; five daughters, Kim Fontenot and Valarie Davy of Iota and Brandy Hanks, Betty Ann Mire and Laura Jean Hanks of Crowley; two sons, Kearney Shane Hanks of Rayne and Billy Joe Hanks of Crowley; his mother, Inest Hanks of Crowley; two brothers, Steve Hanks and Harry Hanks of Crowley; four sisters, Jeanell Istre of Morse, Sheila Hanks of Kinder and Wendy Hanks and Angel Hanks of Crowley; and 18 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kearney Hanks Sr.

Martha Morgan Hoffpauir
EBENEZER - Mrs. Martha Morgan Hoffpauir, 78, of Moss Bluff died at 3:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2003, in a local hospital.
She was a native of Crowley and lived in Lake Charles since 1954. She attended Gulf Park College in Gulfport, Miss., was a Methodist, and was a former member of the Junior League of Lake Charles, the Lake Charles Garden Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Hoffpauir of Moss Bluff; one daughter, Mrs. Roger (Elizabeth Duane) Logan of Moss Bluff; one son, Earl J. Hoffpauir of Lake Charles; one sister, Marilyn Chappell of El Campo, Texas; five grandchildren, Michelle Keller of Destrehan, Douglas Logan and Christel Guins of Moss Bluff,and Garrett Hoffpauir and Drake Hoffpauir of Lake Charles; five great grandchildren, Courtney Logan and Annabelle Guins of Moss Bluff and Rhys, Evan and Lianne Keller of Destrehan.
Mrs. Hoffpauir is preceded in death by a son, Donald David Hoffpauir.
Graveside services will be held at Ebenezer Cemetery on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Danny Gleason will officiate.
Visitation will be held Friday at Johnson Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m.
Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles is in charge of all funeral arrangements.

IOTA – James Henry Miller, 81, native of Iota and resident of River Ridge, will be laid to rest during 1 p.m. funeral services Friday, Jan. 3, 2003 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Joseph Church Cemetery.

Irvin Joseph Richard
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. (pending) Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Irvin Joseph Richard, 73, who died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2002, at Jennings American Legion Hospital.
Fr. Jude Brunett will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.
Visitation may be observed Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Arabie Richard of Jennings; one son, Frankie Richard of Jennings; six grandchildren, Keisha, Jillian, Frankie Jr., Crockett, Cammon and Lauren Richard; three great grandsons, Kayle, Blaze and Cain Richard; two brothers, Joseph and L.J. Richard; and one sister, Verna Higginbotham.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Delphine Richard, and two brothers, Mervin and Hilton Richard.
