Annie M. Bishop, 98
WEIRSDALE -- Annie Mae Bishop, 98, a homemaker, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Marion House Health Care Center.
A native of Georgia, she came to Marion County from Georgia, in 1925. Mrs. Bishop was the oldest registered nurse at the former Marion General Hospital in Ocala. She also was an avid gardener.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Jeanne Spencer, Ocala; sisters, Johnnie Joiner, Tampa, and Sybil Roberts, Donaldsonville, Ga.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Bishop and daughter, Joyce Wood.

James J. Bubin, 61
OCALA -- James J. Bubin, 61, a retired employee of Sprint Telephone Co., died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Chicago, he came here from Miami, in 1960. Mr. Bubin was Lutheran.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Bubin, Ocala; daughters, Julie Foust, Marietta, Ga., Jeanne Pelski, Altamonte Springs, and Jill Caruthers, Ocala; brother, Benjamin John Bubin, Palm Harbor; and five grandchildren.

Marvin H. Gallagher, 74
OCALA -- Marvin H. "Mike" Gallagher, 74, a retired truck driver for Harner's Express in Baltimore, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala.
A native of Baltimore, he came here from Essex, Md., in 1987. Mr. Gallagher was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Ocala, the American Legion in Essex and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Nee Saunders Gallagher, Ocala; son, Michael Gallagher, Baltimore; brother, Robert Gallagher, Ocala; sister, Shirley Ross, Glen Burnie, Md.; and three granddaughters.

William Gregoloff, 84
OCALA -- William Gregoloff, 84, a retired owner of a real estate company, died Sept. 29, 2000.
Mr. Gregoloff came here from Long Island, N.Y., in 1981. He was a former member of the Silver Springs Shores Country Club, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Gregoloff, Ocala; daughters, Marianne Bergen, Dawsonville, Ga., Alice Bake, Brookfield, Conn., Kathleen Ambler, Kennesaw, Ga., Nancy Hillenberg, Westford, Mass., and Janet Woods, Long Island, N.Y.; brother, Alexander Gregoloff, Long Island, N.Y.; sister, Stella Nelson, Naples; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Christine G. Warburton, 51
OCALA -- Christine Gale Warburton, 51, a decorator for J.C. Penny Co., died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y., she moved here 15 years ago.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Warburton, Ocala; mother, Shirley VanDusen, Ocala; and sister, Margarite VanDusen.

Catherine Bertoni, 95
CRYSTAL RIVER Catherine Bertoni, 95, a retired secretary for a perfume manufacturer, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000. A native of Mendoza, Venezuela, she moved here from New York City 30 years ago. Miss Bertoni was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Survivors include her brother, Peter Bertoni, Friendswood, Texas; and her sisters, Aida Miceli, Bayonet Point South, Angela Rivera and Anna Plasencia, both of Beverly Hills. Charles N. Carey, 41
DUNNELLON Charles Norman Carey, 41, a tile setter, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000. A native of Coral Gables, he moved here from Miami in 1995. Survivors include his mother, Julia Carey, Miami; brothers, Thomas Carey, Hollywood, Percy A. Carey Jr., Miami, John Carey, Pembroke Pines and William Carey, Dunnellon; and his sister, Judy Odiskal, Ireland. Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon provided information.

Barbara A. Crews, 63
OCALA Barbara Ann Crews, 63, a pharmacy technician at Munroe Regional Medical Center, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at her home. A native of Pavo, Ga. she moved here from Zephyrhills in 1951. Mrs. Crews was graduated from Ocala High School in 1955. She was Baptist. Survivors include her husband, James Paul Crews Sr., Ocala; daughters, Michelle Rose, Ocala and Sandra Hixson, Virginia Beach, Va.; son, James Paul Crews Jr., Crystal River; sister, Sandra Francis, Statesboro, Ga.; brothers, Teddy Hart, MacClenny and Butch Hart, Statesboro; and six grandchildren. Reccy Crews Sr., 62
OCALA Reccy Crews Sr., 62, a barber, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center. A native of Helen, Ala., he moved here 45 years ago. Mr. Crews was a member of Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church. Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Crews, Ocala; sons, Reccy Crews Jr. and Isaiah P. Crews, both of Ocala; daughter, Priscilla M. Davis, Ocala; mother, Verlie Crews, Muskegon, Mich.; sisters, Assie Winters, Muskegon, and Jewel Mathias, Ocala; and nine grandchildren. Anthony J. Engle, 78
SUMMERFIELD Anthony J. Engle, 78, a retired machinist for Bethlehem Steel, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Estelle's Hospice House. A native of Lebanon, Pa., he moved here from Pennsylvania 35 years ago. Mr. Engle was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Belleview; Knights of Columbus, Council 8012, Belleview; Orange Blossom Hills Neighborhood Watch; and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Pennsylvania. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Betty A. Delaney, Summerfield; daughter, Lynda Kinard, Lady Lake; son, Frederick E. Henry F. Greene, 87
OCALA Henry Fred Greene, 87, a retired butcher, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center. A native of Georgia, he moved here from Jackson, Miss., in 1969. Mr. Greene retired from Swift Packing Company, after 42 years of service. He was Southern Baptist and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by a son, Henry Franklin Greene. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Cora Lee Greene, Ocala; daughter, Mary Susan Jones, Silver Springs; sons, Toby Lee Greene, Ronald Greene and Gerry Glen Greene, all of Ocala; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Lorraine A. Groce, 66
REDDICK Lorraine A. Groce, 66, a retired press operator in the automotive industry, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center. A native of Trimountain, Mich., she moved to Reddick from Salt Springs one year ago. Mrs. Groce was Protestant. Survivors include her husband, Guy Groce, Reddick; son, Darrell Groce, Bay City, Mich.; daughters, Wanda C. Shultz, Montrose, Mich., and Lorrie Gandy, Sanford, Mich.; brother, Hartley Collins, Atlantic Mine, Mich.; sisters, Shirley Coakley and Nancy, both of Boise, Idaho; two grandsons; and one great-granddaughter. Madeline L. Gutekunst, 80
OCALA Madeline L. Gutekunst, 80, a retired Methodist church secretary, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at her home. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved here from Missouri 30 years ago. Mrs. Gutekunst was an active member of United Methodist Church in Williston. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Virginia Franklin, Ocala; and two grandchildren. Bertha M. Morris, 85
\OCALA Bertha Mae Morris, 85, a homemaker, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Palm Garden of Ocala. \A native of Pittsburgh, she moved here from Orlando in 1997. Mrs. Morris attended Christian Missionary Alliance Church. She is survived by her husband, Donald Erwin Morris Jr., Ocala. Roberts Funeral Home, Downtown Ocala Chapel, provided information.

Leona K. Nimmo, 86
OCALA Leona K. Nimmo, 86, a homemaker, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center. A native of Wyoming, Pa., she moved here from LeFargeville, N.Y., 10 years ago. Mrs. Nimmo was an active member of Ocala West United Methodist Church and Young Friends Club of Oak Run. Survivors include her husband, Philip Nimmo Jr., Ocala; daughter, Bonnie Nimmo, Ocala; son, Philip Nimmo III, Fenton, Mich.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
