Jon Jay Harbin
Jon Jay Harbin of Niceville, Fla., passed away suddenly on Monday, Feb. 26, 2001. He was 39 years old.
The son of Chester W. and Sally Ryan Harbin, he was born on Sept. 2, 1961, in Moses Lake, Wash. Jon was a master flooring technician who loved to fish and had a deep abiding love for his family and friends. He was a very loving and caring individual.
He was a member of Sons of American Vets, Post 78, Valparaiso, Fla.
The family of Jon would like to give a special thanks to Robert and Gaynell Powell for their love and support during our time of loss.
Survivors include Jon's mother, Sally Harbin of Shalimar, Fla.; his loving wife, Tracy at home; sons, Travis Ritter, Shayne Fell and Shelby Harbin; daughter, Ashley Harbin, all at home; brothers, Jeff and wife Cheryl of Chesapeake, Va., David and Joel Harbin, both of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and James Michael Harbin of Atlanta; nieces and nephews, Sean Harbin, Jessica Mason, Robin Harbin, David William Harbin Jr., Jamie Lee Harbin, and James Austin Harbin; sister-in-law, Marsha Mason; nephew, Mike and wife Cheri Burdette of Galion, Ohio; and his best friend, Adam Lucas of Niceville; and a long host of friends.
A memorial service honoring Jon will be celebrated on Thursday at 6 p.m. at American Vets Post 78 in Valparaiso with the Rev. Roger Harris officiating. Relatives and friends are invited.
Interment will be at a later date in Sunset Cemetery, Valparaiso.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in Jon's name be made to the Trust Fund for the Harbin Children, c/o First National Bank and Trust Co., Account No. 0961396, at any bank branch location.

Ben H. Eubanks
Lt. Col. Ben H. Eubanks, U.S. Air Force retired, age 76, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, in a local hospital.
He was born in Atlanta on Sept. 6, 1924.
Col. Eubanks was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Fort Walton Beach, and a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. During his tour of duty in Korea he flew 58 combat missions with the 13th Bomb Squadron, 3rd Air Force, and was a member of the Air Force Association.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dottie Eubanks of Fort Walton Beach; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and James M. "Johnny" Johnson III of Shalimar, Fla.; sister, Jean E. Kraus of Atlanta; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Elsie Castle of Shalimar.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, at McLaughlin Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at McLaughlin Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Jack Walchenbach, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Fort Walton Beach, officiating. Burial will be in Beal Memorial Cemetery.
McLaughlin Mortuary, 17 Chestnut Ave., Fort Walton Beach, is entrusted with arrangements.

W.G. Hall
W.G. Hall, a lifelong resident of the New Harmony community, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, in Crestview, Fla., at the age of 76.
Mr. Hall was born on Oct. 17, 1924, in Opp, Ala., the son of the late James S. and Jessie Bell Beck Hall. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a Baptist by faith and a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 341 F&AM.
Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Hall, and sister, Euna Rean Richardson.
Survivors include his sons, Rick L. Hall and wife Brenda of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., and Randy G. Hall of New Harmony; daughter, Vickie L. Mitchell and husband Frank of New Harmony; brothers, James Hall of Lakeland, Fla., Vendon Hall of Mulberry, Fla., and Holly Hall of Bartow, Fla.; sisters, Vannie Mae Frymire of Andalusia, Ala., Voncille Ward of Lakeland, Fla., Verna Lean Maloy of Winter Haven, Fla., and Louise Weeks of Lake Wales, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at New Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy McNeal officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Robert A. McGhee
Robert A. McGhee, age 70, of Shalimar, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001.
Robert was born on Nov. 7, 1930, in Elizabeth, N.J., to Robert John McGhee and Esther Naomi Frederickson, both of Pennsylvania. He married Ruth Moore and enjoyed a loving marriage of 53 years. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He served in Korea and worked as a communications technician until his retirement as a senior master sergeant.
Robert and Ruth made their home in Shalimar for the past two years. He was a wonderful father and husband and will be greatly missed.
Mr. McGhee was preceded in death by his father, Robert McGhee; and his mother, Esther.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; son, Timothy A. McGhee of Milton, Fla.; daughters, Debra K. Tilton of Okeechobee, Fla., and Sally A. McGhee of Satsuma, Fla.; brother, George D. McGhee of Linden, N.J.; sister, Louise G. Ruskoski of Tamaqua, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be conducted on Friday, March 2, at 2 p.m. in Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla., with full U.S. Air Force military honors . Retired U.S. Air Force Chaplain Bill Weaver of Bob Hope Village in Shalimar will officiate.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida and the Air Force Enlisted Foundation Inc.
Milton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Anna Marie Meadows
Anna Marie Meadows, age 85, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., passed away Feb. 26, 2001, at a local nursing home.
She was born on July 3, 1915, in DeFuniak Springs, daughter of the late Andrew and Luci Thompson.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Wright and husband James of Beaver Creek, Ohio, and Phyllis Ann Adams and husband Bill of Rolla, Mo.; brother, George Thompson and wife Miriam of Blue Mountain, Fla., Fred Thompson and wife Nina of Apalachicola, Fla., and Andy Thompson of DeFuniak Springs; and sister, Nellie Whoolery and husband Bill of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Rodney Hill and Jennifer Wright.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Emerald Coast Funeral Home with Father Roy Marien, pastor, Resurrection Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Thompson Cemetery, Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.
Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, is in charge of arrangements.

Marion Myers Watkins
Marion Myers "Buddy" Watkins, age 68, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away Feb. 27, 2001, at a local nursing home.
Buddy was born on Oct. 10, 1932, in Summerville, Ga., son of Frances Watkins and the late Wiley Watkins. He had resided in Fort Walton Beach from 1949 until the early 1970s and then moved back after retirement from Teledyne Expiration in Houston in 1995. When he resided in Fort Walton Beach he worked with Metric Systems and Keltec.
Buddy enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by them.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Donna Watkins of Fort Walton Beach; daughters, Rachel Keng and fiance' Chris Waters of Texas, Rhonda Deal and husband James of Georgia; sons, Marty Morrison and wife Mary of Florida, and Robert Morrison and wife Debra of Texas; sister, Martha Baldwin of Georgia. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jeff and Jennifer Deal, Kyle and Leah Morrison, and Shelby Keng.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to Hospice of Northwest Florida, 101 Hart St., Niceville, FL 32578.

Annie Lee Bray
Annie Lee Bray, a lifelong resident of Walton County, Fla., died Feb. 27, 2001, in a local hospital at the age of 75.
Mrs. Bray was born on April 3, 1925, in Freeport, Fla., the daughter of the late Albert and Alice Gainey Ward. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. She loved working with flowers and reading her books.
Mrs. Bray was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Milford Bray; brothers, Albert Lewis Ward, Delmer Ward and Paul Ward; and sisters, Mildred Mosley and Lucille Brown Price.
Survivors include her sons, Donnie Brackins and wife Janice, Charles Bray and wife Ann, and Larry Bray and wife Margaret, all of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., and George Bray and wife Debbie of Apopka, Fla.; stepdaughter, Linda Akins of Akins, S.C.; brothers, Douglas Ward, J.W. Ward and Hubert Ward, all of DeFuniak Springs; sister, Helen Brannon; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 2, at Clary-Godwin Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Hogg officiating. Burial will follow in Euchee Valley Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

John Patrick O'Keefe
John Patrick O'Keefe, age 65, 1535 North County Highway 393, Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., passed away Feb. 25, 2001, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Morrell O'Keefe; stepson, Larry and wife Bernice Holland, all of Santa Rosa Beach; stepdaughter, Linda and husband William Wernick of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister, Pat O'Brian of Portland, Ore.; and grandchildren, Amber Lee Clark, John Travis Clark and Coral Christine Holland.
Memoralization by cremation.

June Henderson Hutto
June H. Hutto entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. She was 86 years old.
Born on Oct. 29, 1914, in Andalusia, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Ella Hart Henderson. She was an area resident of 40 years.
Mrs. Hutto was preceded in death by her husband, Earl H. Hutto, who died in February 1988.
She is survived by a son, Earl Gresham Hutto of Montgomery, Ala.; daughter, Diane Hutto of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; sisters, Lola Vae Campbell of Crestview, Fla., and Dell Markham of Montgomery, Ala.; grandchildren, Cynthia and husband Mark Rasque of Fort Walton Beach, Michael Rogers, and Stephen Rogers and wife Michelann of Wilson, N.C., Ron Hutto and wife Sylvia of San Marcos, Texas, and David Coyte and wife Kelly of Columbiana, Ala.; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home in Niceville, Fla.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at the funeral home with the Rev. Ernest Walker officiating. Burial will take place in Sunset Cemetery, Valparaiso, Fla.

Iris Catherine Alford
Iris Catherine Alford, age 86, of the Gaskin community, Fla., passed away Saturday, March 3, 2001, in Walton County Convalescent Center.
She was born on April 4, 1914, in Walton County, Fla., the daughter of the late Dan and Julia Ray.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bryant, Curtis, Murdock, Miles, Cecil Grant and Grady Lee Ray; and sisters, Ethel Mae Ray and Ruth Edwards.
Mrs. Alford was a 1934 graduate of Walton High School. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Gaskin, having served in many capacities. She considered her church family as her family.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard Alford; sons and their wives, Bruce and Deborah Alford of Martinez, Ga., and Richard Keith and Debbie Alford of Centreville, Va.; daughter and husband, Sue and Leonard Thorn of the Gaskin community; sister, Irene Sunday of the Glendale community; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Comander Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Wilbur Kelley and James Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Gaskin Baptist Church Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Flowers are acceptable, or contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
Mrs. Alford's grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
