Kathryn Youngblood
Kathryn Youngblood, age 90, of Shalimar, Fla., passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2001, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Youngblood was born on July 17, 1910, in Philadelphia and was a lifelong resident there. She moved to Shalimar in 1997 from Sun City, Fla.
She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She attended Shalimar United Methodist Church; and was a former member of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Youngblood was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Lynford Youngblood; son, Norman Youngblood; and daughter, Kathryn Youngblood. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Jackie Youngblood of Shalimar, and Leland and Phyllis Youngblood of Greeneville, Tenn.; daughter, Patricia Lynch of Glen Mills, Pa.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors John Collins and Jerry Hollis officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton, Fla.
The family will accept flowers, or memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida, 101 Hart St., Niceville, FL 32578.
Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, is in charge of arrangements.

Rebecca Ellen Orzolick
Rebecca Ellen Orzolick was called by the Lord into eternal rest on Thursday, April 19, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on Sept. 5, 1959, in Clarksville. Tenn.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Orzolick of Shalimar, Fla.; daughters, Erin Hamilton and husband Randy of Austin, Texas; and Megan E. Orzolick of Shalimar; and sons, Matthew D. and Adam J. Orzolick of Shalimar. She is also survived by her father and mother, David E. and Betty A. Morrison of Clarksville; brothers, David E. Morrison Jr. and wife Denita of Ashland City, Texas, and Josh D. Morrison of Clarksville; sisters, Deborah L. Varner of Nashville, Tenn., Martha A. Davis and husband Phillip of Clarksville, Sandra E. Halsted and husband David of Clarksville, and Sarah L. Morrison of Hopkinsville, Ky.; granddaughter, Skyler N. Hamilton; maternal grandmother Mosely; and paternal grandmother Morrison. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Rebecca (Ellen) devoted her life to her husband and children. She will be missed dearly by all those whose lives she touched.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 21, at 2 p.m. at Shalimar Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Reese officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society; or to Shalimar Baptist Church Building Fund.

Dee W. Cawthon
Dee W. Cawthon, age 40, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away April 11, 2001.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Lewis Funeral Home in Milton, Fla.

Alfred Moen
Alfred Moen, the inventor of the single handle faucet died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, after a long illness.
Mr. Moen's wife, Barbe; and son, David, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine Moan of Destin, Fla.; son, Eric Moen of North Ridgeville, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Edie Moen of Gibsonia, Pa.; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Moen was a championship roller skater and an avid pilot. He enjoyed golf and tennis. He was a member of the Elks Club and AOPA.
There will be a time of visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at McLaughlin Mortuary.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 21, at noon in McLaughlin Mortuary Chapel.
Flowers are acceptable.
McLaughlin Mortuary, 17 Chestnut Ave., Fort Walton Beach, Fla., is entrusted with arrangements.

Malcolm L. Allen
Malcolm L. "ML" Allen entered into rest at Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville, Fla., on Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at the age of 66.
ML was born on June 27, 1934, in Niceville, the son of Malcolm F. and Minnie Lee Peters Allen.
He was a radar technician for Tracor and served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Jasper. He was married to Doris for 34 years. Mr. Allen was a lifetime member of American Veterans Post 78 and American Legion Post 221, and a lifetime member of the Boggy Boys Sportsman Club in Niceville. He loved hunting, fishing and spending quality time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his mother, Minnie Lee Allen of Niceville; wife, Doris at home; daughter, Wanda Brunson and husband Dewitt of Niceville; brother, Freddie and wife Jean Allen of Niceville; sister, Georgia and husband Kent Jennings of Ypsilanti; grandson, Chris Brunson; granddaughter, Carey Brunson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will have a visitation on Friday, April 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 21, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. J.C. McLendon officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in ML's memory may be made to the American Lung Association; or to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Chester C. Holloway
Chester C. "Chet" Holloway, age 67, of Crestview, Fla., passed away Wednesday night, April 18, 2001.
He was born on July 20, 1933, in Chicago, and had lived in Crestview since 1989. Mr. Holloway was enployed by the Radisson Beach Resort in Fort Walton Beach. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in the Korean conflict; a Mason of Laurel Hill Lodge 44 F&AM; and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
Mr. Holloway was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Ann Lape Holloway.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Doris Holloway of Crestview; daughter, Gayle Resnichek; two grandchildren; brother, Robert Holloway; five sons; five daughters; 35 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren of Doris.
A memorial service will be conducted at noon Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Walton Beach with the Rev. Steve Marko officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in memory of Chester Holloway.
Brackney Funeral Service, Crestview, is in charge of arrangements.

Jesse Hopkins
Jesse Hopkins, August 14, 1911-2001, born in Pensacola, Fla., was a contractor, developer, and in real estate. He resided in Fort Walton Beach from 1948-1960 and was a friend to everyone. He retired and lived in Tampa from 1960-1994.
Jesse died Friday, April 20, 2001.
He came to Winter Haven, Fla., in 1994 and resided there until 2001.
His residence was at Life Care Center in Winter Haven, Fla.
In the past years he was a Shriner and donated to the Shriners Childrens' Hospital, a Mason, and a member of the Lions Club and Elks Club.
He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife Cora Hopkins and sons Ellis Hopkins, Bernard Hopkins and daughter Elaine Williams. He is survived by his daughters Elsie Kelly of Tavaris, Fla., Tensie McCart of Winter Haven, Imogene Salmon of Hudson, Fla., and Celeste Ciccarela of Tampa, Fla.
He had 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews all of Pensacola, Fla.
Arrangements for services are by Blount Curry and Roel Funeral Home in Tampa, Fla.
Honorary pallbearers are grandsons, Stevie Kelly, Randy Hopkins, Kevin Ciccarella, Monty McCart, Joey Dyson, Ronnie Hopkins, Jamie Dyson, Jeffrey Dyson, Shawn Ciccarella, Vaughn McAshan, Kent Ellsworth and Chris Kierby.

James Clay Revell
James Clay Revell of Niceville passed away on April 20, 2001, at the Twin Cities Hospital of Niceville, Fla., after a long battle with cancer. He had been a Niceville resident since 1959.
James was born May 27, 1935, in Sopchoppy, Fla., to Wilma Ruth Cruse and Chauncey Clay Revell. Most who knew him locally called him "Big Jim."
He went by "Buddy" to his brother and sisters and by J.C. to others.
He liked to fish, squirrel hunt, play guitar, play pool and had a circle of friends he loved playing poker with. He had a remarkable memory for numbers and dates.
James joined the U.S. Air Force in 1954. After basic training in Texas, he was stationed at Eglin Auxiliary Field 3, Fla., Japan, Eglin AFB, Fla., Turkey, George AFB, Calif., McConnell AFB, Ky., and Da Nang, South Vietnam. He retired from the military after 23 years. He also retired from the Okaloosa County Road Department in May 2000 after 11 years of service.
He married the former Lenora Vogel in 1959. James was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves behind his son Kenneth Clayton Revell and Frankie Slifko, daughters Lisa Faye Demara and husband Mike, Jane Allison Rushing and husband Joe, of the local area. He leaves sister Carrie Davis and husband Howard, brother William R. Revell, and sister Audrey Hiers and husband David, all of Sopchoppy, Wakulla County, Fla.; sister Shirley Coulter of Conway, S.C.; grandchildren Zachary Clay Revell, Morgan-Elyse Gabrielle Revell of Crestview, Daniel Drew Demara, Paige LeeAnn Demara, step-grandchildren Eric and Lacy Slifko of Niceville; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special supportive friend, Bill Webb of Niceville.
Visitation will be Monday, April 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at McLaughlin Funeral Home, Niceville, Fla.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 24, at 11 a.m. at Rosemont Baptist Church, Niceville, Fla., with the Rev. Dr. Sharber Smith officiating. Interment to follow at Heritage Gardens Cemetery, Niceville, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the City of Niceville Relay For Life Team to support the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home in Niceville, Fla., at 1405 John Sims Parkway.

Steve Rigney
Mr. Steve Rigney, 35, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., died Thursday, April 19, 2001. He is survived by daughter Julia Rigney of Tampa. Fla., son Robert Stephen Rigney of Tampa, Fla.; parents, Basil and Gloria Rigney of Snellville, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Tracie Rigney of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two nieces, several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 23, 2001 at 11 a.m. at The Church of the Good Shepherd, in Covington, Ga., with Rev. Timothy Graham and Dr. William Shapiro officiating. Interment will be at Lawnwood Memorial Park, Covington, Ga. Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home of Covington is overseeing the arrangements.

Dowling Phillips
Dowling Phillips was born in 1916. Like many farm boys of his generation he went to Europe to fight in World War II. He told about bringing home a pet monkey dressed in a uniform to match his own. He also told about the tragedies of that war. In 1951, after 14 years, he left the service and went into various businesses with his wife and later with his son.
He grew up in a large family in Coffee County, Ala., where he learned to work hard and he learned to love the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and bird-dogs all of his life. He was in good health, worked every day, and drove his own car until last November when he broke his hip.
He married Hilda Irene Atkins in 1946 and they were married over 50 years until her passing four years ago. Mr. Phillips is survived by sons Douglas Dowling Phillips and wife Regina and Howard Phillips of Beaumont, Texas; daughter Sarah Irene Gross and husband Richard Gross of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a grandson, Britten Douglas Phillips, and several nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his interest in politics and his strong connection to his local and his beloved Alabama communities. He was a member of the Valparaiso, Florida Baptist Church and active in two Alabama congregations.
The family will have a visitation on Tuesday, April 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. to which relatives and friends are invited at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 25, at the First Baptist Church of Valparaiso at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ernest Walker and Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating.
Interment and graveside services to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Ala. Arrangements are under the direction of McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home, 1405 John Sims Parkway, Niceville, Fla.

Ricky Ellis
Ricky Ellis, age 43, of Crestview, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2001, after a short illness with cancer. Ricky was born on December 14, 1957, in Crestview and was a lifelong resident. He was employed by Consolidated Construction and was Assembly of God by faith.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Larry Ellis.
Survivors include his mother, Lorene Ellis of Crestview; son Paul Ellis of Milton; sister Beverly Griffin and husband Ronnie of Crestview; special friends Kathy Ellis and Joanne Owen, the mother of Paul; niece Brandi Trent, nephew Travis Griffin and great niece Brittany Trent; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2001, in the chapel of the Brackney Funeral Service with the Rev. James Paul officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Springs Cemetery in Laurel Hill.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Owen Monroe (Mickey) Mink
Owen Monroe (Mickey) Mink, age 67, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2001, at his residence in Ponce de Leon, Fla. Mr. Mink was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church and a member of the Alpha Masonic Lodge 172 in Fort Walton Beach.
Mr. Mink is survived by wife Martha Mink of Ponce de Leon; daughters Vickie Huggins of Crestview, Fla., Donna Simmons of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Charlotte Sorrells of Bowling Green, Ky.; son Steven Mink of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at 3 p.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Woodham officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery with Sims Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Monday at Sims Funeral Home.
Masonic Graveside honors will be conferred by Esther Masonic Lodge 144 of Bonifay.
