HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS FATHER, GEORGE SMITH OF RICHWOODS, MISSOURI, SISTER, GLENDA WHITE OF POPLAR BLUFF, MISSOURI, BROTHERS, RANDALL SMITH OF FULTON, MISSOURI, DONALD SMITH OF RICHWOODS, MISSOURI AND GLEN SMITH OF FARMINGTON, MISSOURI AND DEAR COMPANION, CONNIE SMITH OF RICHWOODS, MISSOURI.

GLADYS MARIE TATE OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI WAS BORN AT ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI ON JUNE 9, 1926. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE JAMES PAUL AND BINIE PEARL (DANIELS) SAALE. GLADYS DEPARTED THIS LIFE ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2002 AT HER RESIDENCE IN MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF SEVENTY-SIX YEARS, SIX MONTHS AND NINE DAYS.
GLADYS WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO SAMUEL HANLEY TATE ON OCTOBER 4, 1949 AT BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS AND TO THIS UNION SIX CHILDREN WERE BORN. SAMUEL PRECEDED HIS WIFE IN DEATH ON APRIL 12, 1972.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY SONS, SAM TATE AND WIFE CARY OF ELMHURST, ILLINOIS, JAMES TATE AND WIFE DONNA OF BONNE TERRE, MISSOURI, CLARENCE TATE AND WIFE NINA OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI AND MARK TATE OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI, DAUGHTERS, THERESA JONES AND LATE HUSBAND PRESTON OF PARK HILLS, MISSOURI AND FRANCES RAWL AND HUSBAND GEORGE OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI, EIGHTEEN GRANDCHILDREN, THIRTY-NINE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND EIGHT GREAT, GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS AND HUSBAND SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY BROTHERS, CLARENCE SAALE AND CHARLES SAALE, SISTERS, ELLEN HENNE AND MILDRED SCHULTE AND FOUR GRANDCHILDREN.
SHE ENJOYED COOKING MEALS AND SPENDING TIME WITH HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS. GLADYS WAS A KIND AND LOVING WOMAN WHO WILL BE LOVINGLY MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HER.
VISITATION WAS HELD 4:00 PM TO 9:00 PM ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2002 AND 9:00 AM TO 10:00 AM SATURDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2002 AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.

NEIL THEBEAU
NEIL ZENO THEBEAU OF CADET, MISSOURI WAS BORN AT CADET, MISSOURI ON DECEMBER 4, 1913. HE WAS THE SON OF THE LATE WILLIS P. AND MARTHA JANE (SEMAR) THEBEAU. NEIL DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT HIS HOME ON DECEMBER 28, 2002 HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF EIGHT-NINE YEARS AND TWENTY-FOUR DAYS.
HE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO HELEN MARIE MERCILLE ON SEPTEMBER 29, 1937 IN OLD MINES, MISSOURI AND TO THIS UNION SIX CHILDREN WERE BORN.
NEIL IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, HELEN THEBEAU OF CADET, MISSOURI, DAUGHTERS, RITA J. POLITTE OF CADET, MISSOURI, MARY J. THEBEAU OF CADET, MISSOURI AND CATHERINE DICKEY AND HUSBAND RICHARD OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, SONS, BERNARD E. THEBEAU AND WIFE MARY ANNE OF FARMINGTON, MISSOURI AND NEIL R. THEBEAU AND FRIEND ANNIE OF CADET, MISSOURI, EIGHTEEN GRANDCHILDREN, THIRTY-FOUR GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND TWO GREAT, GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS NEIL WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY SON, GEORGE L. THEBEAU, BROTHERS, ADRIAN THEBEAU, STANLEY THEBEAU AND LEO THEBEAU, HALF-BROTHERS, MARTIN POLITTE AND JIM BATTREAL, HALF-SISTERS, JULIA WALLACE, AGNES BENNETT AND EDNA PORTELL, GRANDSON AND A GREAT, GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER.
NEIL WAS A LIFE TIME MEMBER OF THE ST. JOACHIM CATHOLIC CHURCH IN OLD MINES, MISSOURI. HE WAS ALSO A RETIRED EMPLOYEE OF THE CHURCH SERVING AS A CUSTODIAN OF THE CHURCH AND SCHOOL. NEIL ENJOYED PLAYING CARDS, ESPECIALLY EUCHRE. HE LIKED VISITING WITH FAMILY, GRANDCHILDREN AND HIS MANY FRIENDS. NEIL WOULD ALWAYS ENJOY A PARTY FOR HIS BIRTHDAY. HE WAS ALWAYS REMEMBERED AS A BUTCHER AND FRIENDS ALWAYS CALLED FOR THEIR FAVORITE CUT OF MEAT. HIS HOBBIES WERE GARDENING AND RAISING LIVESTOCK. NEIL WILL BE LOVINGLY MISSED BY FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
VISITATION WAS HELD 2:30 PM TO 9:00 PM ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 30, 2002 AND 9:00 AM TO 10:45 AM ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 31, 2002 AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL, POTOSI.
A FUNERAL MASS WAS CELEBRATED 11:00 AM ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 31, 2002 AT THE ST. JOACHIM CATHOLIC CHURCH WITH FATHER TED PIEPER OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN THE ST. JOACHIM CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE, TIM POLITTE, DALE POLITTE, RANDY POLITTE, BRAIN POLITTE, BERNIE THEBEAU, JR., MIKE THEBEAU, NEIL THEBEAU AND KEITH THEBEAU.

KATHRYN LACHANCE
KATHRYN ALICE LACHANCE OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI WAS BORN AT MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI ON JULY 1, 1912. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE JOHN AND ROSE (KERLICK) ELSEY. KATHRYN DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT HER HOME ON DECEMBER 30, 2002 HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF NINETY YEARS, FIVE MONTHS AND TWENTY-NINE DAYS.
KATHRYN WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO JOHN LACHANCE IN 1935 IN FARMINGTON, MISSOURI AND TO THIS UNION ONE CHILD WAS BORN. JOHN PRECEDED HIS WIFE IN DEATH.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY SON, ROBERT LACHANCE AND WIFE JOYCE OF FLORIDA, SISTER, ALICE DOUGLAS OF WASHINGTON, MISSOURI AND THREE GRANDCHILDREN.
KATHRYN WAS LOVED BY ALL WHO WERE BLESSED TO KNOW HER. SHE WAS AN INSPIRATION TO MANY STUDENTS TO PURSUE TEACHING CAREERS. SHE WILL BE LOVINGLY MISSED BY ALL.
VISITATION WAS HELD 4:00 PM TO 9:00 PM ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 1, 2003 AND 9:00 AM TO 10:45 AM ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 2, 2003 AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.

DAVID WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO VIOLET B. PITTMAN ON OCTOBER 19, 1976 IN SILVER MINES, MISSOURI.
DAVID IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, VIOLET B. EVANS OF POTOSI, FOUR STEP SONS, ROBERT FITZGERALD AND WIFE INA OF IRONDALE, JERRY FITZGERALD OF POTTSTOWN, PA., BURL PORTELL AND BARBARA PORTELL OF POTOSI, BILLY GENE PORTELL OF POTOSI; ONE STEP DAUGHTER, RUTH ANN SODERBLOM OF POTOSI; SEVERAL STEP GRANDCHILDREN; ONE BROTHER, THOMAS B. EVANS AND WIFE IRENE OF POTOSI; ONE SISTER, MARY A. PUCKETT AND HUSBAND HARRY OF POTOSI AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS, DAVID WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE BROTHER, JAMES E. COLLINS AND ONE INFANT SISTER, MARGARET JANE EVANS.
PRIOR TO DAVID'S RETIREMENT HE WAS EMPLOYED BY PEA RIDGE MINE FOR SOME FIFTEEN YEARS. DAVID OWNED AND OPERATED "EAST END CAFE" IN POTOSI FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
DAVID WAS A OUTDOORS MAN AND LOVED THE GIFTS OF MOTHER NATURE, HE ENJOYED TROUT FISHING AND MUSHROOM HUNTING. HE ENJOYED TRAVELING WHEN HE COULD.
VISITATION WAS HELD SATURDAY, APRIL 10, 1999, FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AT THE GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED SUNDAY, APRIL 11, 1999, AT 2:00 P.M. AT THE GUM & SON CHAPEL WITH ELDER LEONARD COMPTON OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN PLEASANT HILL CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE, KEN CARL, ALLEN SHEPARD, DONALD PITTMAN, ED ROWE, FLOYD ROWE, ARTHUR EVANS, DON MCCOURTNEY AND DAVID PORTELL.

LULA DEPARTED THIS LIFE ON DECEMBER 31, 2002 AT THE WASHINGTON COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN POTOSI, MISSOURI HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF NINETY-FIVE YEARS, ONE MONTH AND FIFTEEN DAYS.
LULA WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO ROBERT JOHNSON ON DECEMBER 5, 1970. ROBERT PRECEDED HIS WIFE IN DEATH ON MAY 6, 1990.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY SISTER, VEDA KELLEY OF ST. CHARLES, MISSOURI, THREE GRANDCHILDREN, SON-IN-LAW, FRANK RODERICK OF TERRE DULAC, MISSOURI, DEAR FRIENDS, BONNIE AND DARRELL WHITNEY OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, AMANDA HAGADORN OF RICHWOODS, MISSOURI AND THE STAFF OF GEORGIAN GARDENS NURSING HOME. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS AND HUSBAND SHE IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY DAUGHTER, MAY RODERICK, FIRST HUSBAND, HENRY GIPSON, BROTHERS, TOMMY KIDD AND JAMES KIDD AND SISTER VALDA TEMPLETON.
LULA ENJOYED VEGETABLE AND FLOWER GARDENING. SHE ENJOYED THE MANY GIFTS OF MOTHER NATURE BY FISHING AND TRAVELING. LULA WAS A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER AT GUMSTUMP SCHOOL IN ARKANSAS. SHE WILL BE LOVINGLY MISSED BY ALL WHO WERE BLESSED TO KNOW HER.
