JOHNSON CITY - Anna L. Neeley Bradley, 69, 923 Millercrest Drive, passed away Saturday (Jan. 12, 2002) at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Bradley was a native of Appalachia, Va. She was a daughter of the late John Edwin and Ella Burchett Perkins Neeley.
Mrs. Bradley was a member of Central Baptist Church, Johnson City, a member of the Esther Sunday School Class, the Central Baptist Church decoration committee, the Central Baptist Church choir and the Johnson City Monday Club.
Mrs. Bradley had retired from the James H. Quillen Medical Center in 1991 as an EEG technician.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Patrease Ann Wilhoit; three brothers, William F. Neeley, Ike Neeley, Joseph Patrick Neeley; and one sister, Gladys Neeley.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Bradley; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ella and Mark Adcox, Kingsport, Kelly and Larry Canter, Elizabethton, Myra and John King, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Lori Wilhoit; two stepdaughters, Susan and Lee Chase, Melissa and Clay Thomas, Johnson City; two sisters, Dolly Nagel, Wichita, Kans., and Margaret Lusker, Clearwater, Fla.; two brothers, Roy Eugene "Gene" Neeley, Kingsport, and John Neeley, Orange Park, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Central Baptist Church, 300 North Roan Street, Johnson City.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in the church with Dr. Ron Murray and the Rev. Williard Warfield officiating.
Special music will be by the Central Baptist Church Choir under the direction of Mr. Tommy Martin with Mrs. Debbie Odom, soloist, Ambers Wilson, pianist, and Melanie Sparks, organist.
The entombment will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the mausoleum chapel in Monte Vista Memorial Gardens, 1900 E. Oakland Ave., Johnson City, with Dr. Ron Murray officiating.
Pallbearers will be sons-in-law: Larry Canter, John King, Mark Adcox, Lee Chase, Clay Thomas and Clyde Garrison.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in loving memory of Anna N. Bradley may be made to the Shepherd's Spinal Center, 2020 Peachtree S.W., Atlanta, Ga.
Snyder Funeral Home, Gray, is serving the Anna Neeley Bradley family.

Alexeus Coclough, 19-months-old, Kingsport.
Services for Alexeus Danielle Coclough, 19-months-old, of 440 Eastley Court, Kingsport, who passed away Tuesday (Jan. 8, 2002), will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. today in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Lester Lattany and the Rev. David Sexton officiating.

Maxie Davidson, 83, Gate City, Va.
GATE CITY, Va. - Maxie Lee Smith Davidson, 83, of Route 2, passed away Saturday (Jan. 12, 2002) at the Hospice House in Bristol, Tenn.
She was born in Scott County, Va., on December 6, 1918 to the late Dr. Robert Allen and Emma Lou Carico Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Midway United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Eugene (Gene) Davidson, June, 2, 1988; three sisters, Chloe Cleo Smith, Izetta Smith and Nila Smith; two brothers, Rudolph and Ralph Smith.
Surviving are a son, Larry Gene Davidson, and daughter-in-law, Janet Davidson, Gate City; daughter, Janet D. Ketron, Kingsport; sister, Lorene Gillenwater, Gate City; grandchildren, Kim Davidson, Becky Ketron, Joe Davidson, Travis Ketron, Josh Ketron, Matthew Davidson; one great-grandchild due in June; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, Va., or anytime at her residence.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Don Large officiating.

He was a native of Scott County, Va., and was a carpenter.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Truman France and Martha Hart France; sister, Annie Hashbarger; and brother, MacAuther France.

Betty Gardner, 71, Gate City, Va.
GATE CITY, Va. - Betty Louise Parker Gardner, 71, of Route 4, went to be with the Lord late Friday (Jan. 11, 2002) at the Brian Center and Rehabilitation.
A native of Scott County, Va., she was a graduate of Mountain Empire Community College. She retired as an accountant from Arthur Gale Gardner C.P.A.
Mrs. Gardner was a charter member of Emmaus Baptist Church and served as church secretary. She was a loving wife, a caring mother and a wonderful friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde E. Parker and Lillian Frances Lane Parker.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Arthur Gale Gardner, Gate City; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Debbie Gardner, Gate City, Mark and Karen Gardner, Kingsport, Kent and Carol Gardner, Olathe, Kans.; grandchildren, Jason Gardner, Daniel Gardner, Joshua Gardner, Timothy Gardner, Rachel Gardner and Michaela Gardner; sister, Norma Tucker, Knoxville; several nieces and nephews.

KINGSPORT - Ruby Harris, 66, went to be with the Lord Friday (Jan. 11, 2002) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland, Fla., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

ROGERSVILLE - Services for Georgia Head, 62, 872 Light Hollow Road, who died Thursday (Jan. 10, 2002), will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes with the Rev. Rex Miller and the Rev. Clifford Cole officiating.

James B. Hensley, 78, Hiltons, Va.
HILTONS, Va. - James B. Hensley, 78, went home to be with the Lord Friday (Jan. 11, 2002) at Wellmont Hospice House of Bristol.
A lifelong resident of Scott County, Va., he was retired from the Scott County School System after 36 years of service as a bus driver. He was also a retired farmer and attended Hilton Independent Church of God.
He was a devoted husband, father and papaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Farrie Mae Hensley; his wife, Lorraine (Jean) Hensley; one brother, Charlie Hensley; two sisters, Myrtle Taylor and Nellie Ketron; one half brother, Garvey McMurray; and one stepgranddaughter, Becky McCoy.

Dennis Ray Parrish, 52, Coeburn, Va.
COEBURN, Va. - Dennis Ray Parrish, 52, died Friday (Jan. 11, 2002) at his residence in Coeburn.
Mr. Parrish was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam era.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Emmitt and Albie Dora Hall Parrish; and a great-niece, Christina Dora Jaquess.
Survivors include two sisters, Nancy Hayes and Patty Greear, both of Coeburn; one nephew, Steven Wayne Greear, Pasadena, Calif.; five nieces, Sandra Greear, April Stidham, Angela Jaquess and Andrea Lawson, all of Coeburn, Michelle Campbell, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; three great-nieces, Julie Jaquess, Laura Stidham and Heather Lawson; five great-nephews, Dustin Hayes, Derrick Hayes, Darren Hayes, Jarrett Lawson and Joshua Laquess.

Freddie Penley, 45, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - John Fredrick Penley, 45, of 1004 Greenvine Place, went to be with the Lord Saturday (Jan. 12, 2002) after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
He graduated from Daniel Boone High School in 1974 and was employed with Eastman Chemical Company for 28 years.
He was a member of the Limestone Masonic Lodge.
He was of the Baptist faith, and was a devoted father and loving husband, son and brother.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Penley.
Surviving are his wife, Susan Penley, of the home; daughter, Lauren Beth Penley, and son, Landon Blake Penley, also of the home; mother, Anna Joy Penley, Johnson City; brother, Dale Penley, Johnson City; three sisters, Ann Simpson, Gray, Vanessa Snodgrass, Georgetown, Ky., and Terri Greenwell, Fort Mill, S.C.; also several nieces and nephews.

KINGSPORT - Sara Francis Reed, 79, entered into rest Friday (Jan. 11, 2002) at Wexford House.
She was born on December 23, 1922 in Kentucky, to the late John and Audrey Pierson Johnson.
Mrs. Reed was a member of Lynn Garden Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She was a self-employed seamstress and an avid artist and homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Oferyl J. Reed, of The Place at Kingsport; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and James Hall, Arlington, Va.; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Nancy Reed, Kingsport; one sister, Jane McArthur, Gate City, Va.; two brothers, Thomas B. Johnson, Kingsport, and John D. Johnson, Clearwater, Fla.; three grandchildren, Tina Larkins, Kingsport, Rodney Hall, Herndon, Va., and Andy Hall, Woodbridge, Va.; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a retired truck driver and was a member of Victory Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Sizemore; daughter, Kim Sizemore; stepdaughter, Pat Wininger; sister, Alyeen Cutshall and husband Ed; stepsons, Jim Helbert and wife Louise, Tom Helbert and wife Mary; grandsons, Tony Wininger, Keith Reynolds and wife Stacy, Lance Helbert; granddaughters, Christy Cook and husband Shane, Tonda Slusarski and husband Mike, Kim Hurst and husband Brian, Amanda Morrison and husband Curtis; several great-grandchildren.

Jack R. Summey, 65, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Jack R. Summey, 65, went to be with the Lord Saturday (Jan. 12, 2002) after a brief illness.
Born in Scott County, Va., he had been a resident of Kingsport most of his life.
He was the owner and operator of Scott County Heating and Cooling. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Mr. Summey was a member and deacon of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. He was a strong family person and enjoyed each family member and friend.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl; brother, Gene; and sister, Lois.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Judy Brickey Summey of the home; one son, Mike Summey and wife Tina of Kingsport; two daughters, Kim Summey of Gray, and Lori Summey Waycaster and husband C.D. of Mount Carmel; three grandchildren, Andy Summey and wife Kimberly, Amanda Summey and Megan Waycaster; mother, Eva Summey; sisters, Bobbie Quillen and husband Paul of Kingsport, Mary Lane and husband Jim of Kingsport; brothers, Mack Summey and wife Janice of Kingsport, Paul Summey and wife Glenda of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.

MOUNT CARMEL - Henry L. Tate, 81, 403 Old Hickory Circle, passed away Friday (Jan. 11, 2002) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a short illness.
Mr. Tate was a native of Scott County, Va., and was a lifelong resident of Virginia and Tennessee. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Eastman Kodak.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lou Sandidge Tate in December; his parents, Andrew Jackson and Augustine Elizabeth Wininger Tate; sisters, Mary Belle Mullins, Thelma Howell, and an infant sister; brothers, Auburn J. Tate, Reuben S. Tate, William E. Tate and James Massie Tate.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Judith Carol and Ronald Wilson, Church Hill, Rhonda Gail and Dwane Light, Mount Carmel; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry L. and Patsy Tate, Mount Carmel; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Tate, Gate City, Va., and Clarence "Tator" Tate, Hendersonville; several nieces and nephews.

FT. BLACKMORE, Va. – Graveside services for Joe Bill Webb, 71, who entered into rest Thursday, (Jan. 10, 2002), will be held at 2 p.m. today at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Va., by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post No. 3382 of the VFW and Brother Chester Shell.
Calling hours are from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steeles Road, Bristol, Tenn. 37620 or Charles DeWitt Byrd Post No. 3382 of the VFW, c/o Earnest Hooven, 721 Union Hill St., Kingsport, Tenn. 37660.
