ROBERT "TIP" EDWARD BALLENGER
MARCH 20, 1930 - MAY 12, 2007
Robert “Tip“ Edward Ballenger, age 77 of Elwood, IN died on May 12, 2007 at his home. He was born on March 20, 1930 in Kokomo, IN to Ralph and Sylvia (McKinney) Ballenger. Robert had been married to Phyllis (Dunham) Ballenger until her death in 2002. He was a past member of the Indiana National Guard and a graduate of Tipton High School. Robert was a retiree from Delco Remy in Anderson and was very active within his church, the First Missionary Baptist Church in Elwood. He was a very loyal fan of the Indiana Pacers, always giving them his full support. Robert was survived by his four children, Beth (Dave) Roach of Tipton, Eddie Ballenger of Tipton, Cindy (Mike) Robinson of Deputy, IN and Judy Fletcher of Tennessee along with grandchildren Adrian, Cara, Corey, Jason, Blake, Amy, Bob, Ashley, Ryan, Matt, Erin, Derek, Josh, Allison, Dan, Candace, B.J., Nicole and five great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis, brothers Max & Bill Ballenger and a son Steve Dunham. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on May 16, 2007 at Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with Pastor John Dawson officiating. Calling will be from 6-8 PM on the evening of May 15, 2007 at Porters. Burial will be at the Sharpsville Cemetery in Sharpsville. The family requests memorials be made to the Kidney Foundation, the First Missionary Baptist Church of Elwood or the charity of your choice.

JULIA C. (MCNEW) HORTON
JULY 2, 1911 - APRIL 18, 2007
Julia C. (McNew) Horton age 96, of Tipton, IN passed away on April 18, 2007 at Autumnwood Extended Care in Tipton, Indiana. She was born in Arcadia, Indiana on July 2, 1911 to Archie and Zelia (Waltz) McNew. Julia married Charles N. Horton in 1930 and he passed away in 1978. She had been an employee of the Tipton County Library years ago. Survivors include a son James Horton and his wife Kay of Tipton and a daughter in law Virginia Horton of Camby, IN. along with several grand, great grand, great great grandchildren and nieces & nephews. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, a daughter Anita, a son Charles, one sister and five brothers. Calling will be from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on April 20, 2007 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with services at 3:00 PM on the same day. Pastor Doug Slack will officiate with burial at Fairview Cemetery

CAROLYN S. ANTHONY
JULY 26, 1942 - APRIL 12, 2007
Carolyn S. Anthony, age 64 of Sharpsville, IN died on April 12, 2007 at Tipton County Memorial Hospital in Tipton, IN. She was born on July 26, 1942 in Wells County Indiana to Virgil and Pauline (Kerlin) Booher. Carolyn married Robert A. Anthony on July 29, 1961 and he passed away on March 12, 2007. She retired from Northern Neck Security Co. in Calleo, VA. Surviving are her children; Robin (Terry) Dodge of Tipton, Cathy Anthony of Windfall, John (Raquel) Anthony of Weston, Ohio and Dawn (Stan) Marcum of Windfall along with grandchildren; Chris (Ashley) McCool, Kyle McCool, Bobby Anthony, Carlie Marcum and MaKayla Marcum all of Windfall, Jeremy, Justin and Jessica Anthony of Weston, Ohio. Also surviving are three brothers, Jerry (Margaret) Booher of Greenwood, IN, Donald (Sue) Booher of Spencer, IN and Richard (Pat) Booher of Knightstown, IN. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, two sisters, Alice Goodnight and Mary Weikal . A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on April 21, 2007 at Porter uneral Home in Tipton with Pastor Denny Pearson officiating. Family will receive friends from 1-2 PM on the day of services at Porters.

JOANNE M. BLUNCK
APRIL 11, 1937 - APRIL 9, 2007
Joanne M. Blunck, age 69 of Windfall, IN died on April 9, 2007 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on April 11, 1937 in Ringgold County, Iowa to John M. and Marie (Bennett) McGilvrey. Joanne married Robert Blunck on December 12, 1955 and he passed away on January 26, 1996. She had recently retired after 31 years from the accounting firm of Bucheri, McCarty & Metz LLP in Kokomo where she was the computer department manager. Joanne was a member of the United Methodist Church, Newcastle Wyoming Jaycees, Order of Eastern Star and was first elected to the Windfall Town Board in 2000 and re-elected in 2004 presently serving as Board President. Joanne was survived by her four children, Bob (Brenda) Blunck of Elwood, Ron (Julie) Blunck of Sharpsville, Rick (Jodie) Blunck of Atlanta, GA and Barb (John) Kunstman of Rockville, MD. Also surviving are siblings J.B. McGilvrey of Woodward, Iowa and Janene McGilvrey of Washington, Iowa along with grandchildren Brandie Blunck and fianc� Aarron Bond, Lorie Blunck, Seth Blunck, Natalie Schurke, Nikki Tindol, Madison Kunstman and Evan Kunstman. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert T. Blunck. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on April 13, 2007 at Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with Pastor Denny Pearson officiating. Calling will be from 4-8 PM on the evening of April 12, 2007 at Porters. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery in Windfall.

FLORENCE MAE MORRISETT
FEBRUARY 7, 1924 - MARCH 30, 2007
Florence Mae Morrisett age 83, of Tipton, IN entered her new home in heaven on March 30, 2007 from her home in Tipton. She was born February 7, 1924 in Tipton, IN to Earl and Edith (Pennock) Phifer. Florence married John C. Morrisett on February 7, 1941. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Florence was a member of Beacon of Hope Church of God in Tipton. Surviving are her children, James (Janice) Morrisett of Greencastle, William (Connie) Morrisett of Elwood, Loretta (Leon) Sarber of Bremen, IN, Sandy (Tim) Peters of Sharpsville and a son in law Tony Dunn of Tipton. Siblings surviving are Crystal Collins of Kempton, Etta Cole of Gas City, IN and Roy Phifer of Plymouth, IN along with 23 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grand children. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, daughter Barbara Dunn, son in law Gary Cox, five sisters and four brothers. Services will be at 10:00AM on Tuesday April 3, 2007 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with Pastor Paul Compton officiating. Calling will be from 6-8 PM on Monday April 2, 2007 at Porters and one hour prior services on Monday. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.

NORMA BOCKOVER
SEPTEMBER 8, 1914 - MARCH 28, 2007
Norma Bockover, age 92 of Tipton, IN died on March 28, 2007 at Tipton County Memorial Hospital in Tipton, IN. She was born on September 8, 1914 in Tipton, Indiana to Chris and Opal (Moon) Landseadel. Norma married Carlos Bockover in 1938 and he passed away in 2000. She had worked for the Tipton Community School Corporation over the years as a cook. Norma was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tipton, the Lutheran Ladies Aid Society and the Double Dozen Homemakers Club. Surviving are a son and daughter; Bill and wife Sue Bockover of Fishers, Indiana and Fran and husband Ron Ronning of Idaho along with 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carlos, two children Marilyn & Gary Bockover, one sister and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on March 31, 2007 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tipton with Pastor Kurt Gremel officiating. Calling will be from 6-8 PM on the evening of March 30, 2007 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton and one hour prior services at the church on the day of services. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.

ROBERT A. ANTHONY
JULY 10, 1938 - MARCH 27, 2007
Robert A. Anthony, age 68 of Sharpsville, IN died on March 27, 2007 at Tipton County Memorial Hospital in Tipton, IN. He was born on July 10, 1938 in Hague, Virginia to Robert B. and Hester L. (Harlow) Anthony. Robert married Carolyn Sue Booher on July 29, 1961. He retired from Continental Steel in Kokomo in 1985 after 30 years of service. Surviving are his wife Carolyn Anthony of Sharpsville and his mother Hester L. Anthony of Windfall, his children; Robin (Terry) Dodge of Tipton, Cathy Anthony of Windfall, John (Raquel) Anthony of Weston, Ohio and Dawn (Stan) Marcum of Windfall along with grandchildren; Chris McCool, Kyle McCool and Bobby Anthony of Windfall, Justin Anthony & Jessica Anthony of Weston, OH, Ashley McCool, Carlie Marcum and MaKayla Marcum of Windfall. Also surviving is one sister Kathy (Ed) Castor of Curtisville. Robert was preceded in death by his father. A memorial services will be held at 1PM on March 31, 2007 at Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with Pastor Denny Pearson officiating. Family will receive friends from 12-1 PM on the day of services at Porters.

CONSTANCE C. PLAKE
SEPTEMBER 4, 1960 - MARCH 17, 2007
Constance C. Plake, age 46 of Tipton, IN died on March 17, 2007 in Tipton, IN. She was born on September 4, 1960 in Lowville, New York to Robert and Peggy (Brasie) Decker. Constance married Dillard P. Plake on September 24, 1988. She attended the Church of Christ in Tipton and had worked at Biddle’s in Sheridan, IN. Surviving with her husband Dillard of Tipton are two daughters Sherry K. (Joshua Hinkle Sr.) Hinkle of Tipton and Christina Asher of Peru, IN along with step-children Stephanie M. (Todd) Shupperd of Kokomo, IN, Joshua P. Plake of Lafayette, IN, and Jeremiah D. Plake of Kokomo, In. with grandchildren Abby Plake, Illana Plake, Katie Shupperd, Cheyenne Jones, Joshua Hinkle Jr., Jesse Hinkle, Christopher Asher II, Michael Plake and Destiny Plake. Surviving siblings are Kathy Rumholtz of N.Y., Debra Monahan of N.Y., Patricia Miracle of N.Y., Tim Weaver of N.Y., Tom Weaver of N.Y., Tina Lafrancois of N.Y., Scott Decker of AR, Tina Bradley of IN, and Debbie Decker of IL. Constance was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on March 22, 2007 at Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with Pastor Ken McClain officiating. Calling will be from 6-8 PM on the evening of March 21, 2007 at Porters. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.

LEONA "TOADY" CAMPBELL
OCTOBER 22, 1934 - MARCH 15, 2007
Leona “Toady“ Campbell, age 72 of Tipton, IN died on March 15, 2007 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, IN. She was born on October 22, 1934 in Claiborne, County in Tennessee to Wint and Rachel (Yeary) Brooks. Leona married Kyle Campbell on June 22, 1956 and he passed away on November 25, 2003. She had worked at Holtsclaw Nursing Home and the Tipton Telephone Company over the years. Surviving is a daughter, Sandra and husband Mark Herron of Tipton, Indiana along with two grand sons, Ryan Herron, Micah Herron and his fianc� Christine Orcutt all of Tipton along with two great grandchildren Marika & Xavier Herron and a grand daughter-in-law Brooke Herron. Also surviving are siblings Cresful Miller of Hazard, KY and Bennie Brooks of Harrogate, TN. Leona was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Kyle Campbell, siblings; Ella Liford, Wheeler Brooks, Lula Mustard, Bessie Kelley, Gussie Didlake, Nannie Yoder, Carnie Brooks, Herbert Brooks, Marilyn Brooks, William Brooks and Jimmy Brooks Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on March 19, 2007 at Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with Pastor Logan Westrick and Rev. Carl Roudebush officiating. Calling will be from 4-8 PM on the evening of March 18, 2007 at Porters. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.

CHARLES GARDNER
NOVEMBER 25, 1952 - MARCH 13, 2007
Charles Gardner age 54, of Noblesville, IN passed away on March 13, 2007 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, Indiana. Charles was born in Elwood, Indiana on November 25, 1952 to Tom and Phyllis (Cole) Gardner. He had served in the Indiana National Guard and was employed at Wal-Mart in Noblesville. Surviving are his step-father, Ray Bush of Miami County, his daughters, Jessica Sherman of Frankton, IN and Misty Gardner of Miami, FL along with sisters Becky Redmon of Tipton, Brenda Hight of Kokomo, step sisters Sherry Bush and Debby Watson of Tipton. A grandaughter Shelby Lynn Burke also survives. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on March 19, 2007 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with a memorial service at 7:00 PM on the same day.

AARON E. BLACKBURN
OCTOBER 12, 1921 - MARCH 10, 2007
Aaron E. Blackburn age 85, of Tipton, IN passed away on March 10, 2007 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born October 12, 1921 in Madrin, MO to Charles and Ethel (McBride) Blackburn. Aaron married Ethel Eileen Ellis on April 10, 1942. He had retired from Haynes Stellite in Kokomo in 1981 after 25 years, he also owned Blackburn‘s Fence Co. Aaron was a member of The Nevada Church of God, Tipton Lion‘s Club and the Indiana Alligators Club. Surviving are his wife, Eileen Blackburn of Tipton and a daughter Jan Nantroup of Windfall along with grandchildren, Jody Nantroup, Jamie (Roy) Silvers, Joene (Russ) Johnson and great grandchildren Kaylan & Megan Silvers, Brook, Hope and Syruss Johnson. Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters. Services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday March 13, 2007 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with Brother Woodrow Johnson and Pastor Bill Salsbery officiating. Calling will be from 5-8 PM on Monday March 12, 2007 at Porters. Interment will be at the Nevada Cemetery in Nevada.

JOHN MARVIN ARNETT
NOVEMBER 15, 1920 - MARCH 9, 2007
John Marvin Arnett age 86, of Tipton, IN passed away on March 9, 2007 at Tipton County Hospital in Tipton, IN. He was born November 15, 1920 in Bowling Green, KY to Isiah and Drewie (Wood) Arnett. He married Louise Kendall on October 9, 1943. John had retired from the Indiana Dept. of Transportation and farming. He was a member of West Street Christian Church in Tipton. Surviving are his wife, Louise Arnett of Tipton, along with children, Bonita (Gene) Guffey, Connie (the late David Peters) Peters, and Kathy (Joe) Powell all of Tipton. A sister Jerlene Fletcher of Tipton also survives along with grandchildren, Andy (Kelly) Guffey of San Francisco, CA, Christi (Tom) Dolezal, Julie (Brad) Wyman, Carissa (Aaron) Coe, Scott (Amanda) Powell, Lori (Doug) Seaman all from Tipton, and twelve great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, James, Junior and Leon Arnett. Services will be at 10:00AM on Monday March 12, 2007 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton. Calling will be from 3-8 PM on Sunday March 11, 2007 at Porters and one hour prior services on Monday. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.

JOHN P. BOES
DECEMBER 8, 1938 - MARCH 2, 2007
John P. Boes, age 68 of Kokomo, IN died on March 2, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo, IN. He was born on December 8, 1938 in Tipton to Cecil and Elpha (Plake) Boes. John married Song Cha Yi in 1974 and she passed in 1996. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1982 after 29 years of active duty. Surviving are two sons, Tae Boes of San Diego, California and Jay Boes of Kokomo, Indiana along with a grand daughter Lillian Boes. Also surviving is one brother Jack Boes of Tipton. John was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on March 7, 2007 at Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with Pastor Doug Slack officiating. Calling will be from 6-8 PM on the evening of March 6, 2007 at Porters. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.

TRACY A.D. "BIRD" ELLIS
MAY 17, 1965 - FEBRUARY 25, 2007
Tracy Ellis age 41, of Tipton, IN passed away on February 25, 2007 at Tipton Hospital in Tipton, IN. Tracy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 17, 1965 to John and Teala (Sharp) Ellis. He graduated Tipton High School in 1983 and had been a security officer at Firestone in Noblesville. On April 17, 1995 Tracy married Michelle McPeak and she survives. He was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed playing the guitar. In 2004 Tracy was a double organ transplant recipient receiving both a kidney and a pancreas. Surviving are his mother and father, John and Teala Ellis of Tipton, his wife, Michelle Ellis of Tipton, and a half brother, Damon Broady of Hope, IN. Calling will be from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on March 1, 2007 at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with graveside services at 3:00 PM on the same day. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.
