Coralee Duhme, age 84, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Monday, September 8, 2003, at the Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, September 11, 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, September 10, 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa.
Coralee Duhme was born on May 4, 1919 in Maquoketa, Iowa to Fred Frank and Esther (Nagle) Frank. She was educated in the Fulton Country Schools and graduated from Maquoketa Community High School. She married Kenneth A. Duhme on August 29, 1948 in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Mrs. Duhme was a homemaker and farmed with her husband on the family farm north of Maquoketa.
She was a member of the Fulton Community Church and helped with the Fulton Aid Society. She had been a 4-H Leader. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, craft projects, and spending time with her family. She had taught several of her grandchildren to read.
She is survived by: her husband- Kenneth A. Duhme of Maquoketa, IA; children- Kenneth Paul Duhme of Maquoketa, IA, Linda(Mrs. Jack) Olson of Arlington Heights, IL, Rick Duhme of Maquoketa, IA, Loralee(Mrs. Tim) Malone of Ames, IA, Laureen(Mrs. Jerry) Schwenker of Maquoketa, IA, Randy(Linda) Duhme of Maquoketa, IA & Kevin(Susan Ray- Fiance of Galena, IL) Duhme of Maquoketa, IA; & 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother- Louis & 1 aunt- Ruth.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.

Albert Nabb
Albert L. Nabb, age 94, of Maquoketa, Iowa, and formerly of DeWitt and Delmar, Iowa, died Saturday evening, September 6, 2003 at the Maquoketa Care Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. There will be no public visitation. A private family visitation will be held at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Busch Cemetery, rural Lost Nation Iowa.
Albert L. Nabb was born on December 19, 1908 in Jackson County, Iowa to Amasa Nabb and Almeda (Dubert) Nabb. He was educated in Jackson County Public Schools. He married Alta M. Kuchel in October of 1944.
Mr. Nabb worked as an assembler at John Deere & Company in Moline, Illinois for 33 years, retiring in 1966. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by: sons- Alan G.(Rita) Nabb of Springfield, VA, & Errol G.(Gwen) Nabb of Yorba Linda, CA; 1 sister- Vera Higgins of IA; 5 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers & 1 sister.

Darral E. "Goody" Goodenow
Darral E. "Goody" Goodenow, age 76, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Sunday afternoon, September 14, 2003, at the Crestridge Nursing home in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, September 18, 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa, with The Rev. Marlin Whitmer of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Maquoketa, Iowa officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa, where a military flag presentation will be held.
Darral E. "Goody" Goodenow was born on August 14, 1927 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Paul Goodenow and Martha (Horr) Goodenow. He was a 1945 graduate of Maquoketa Community High School, and was a Korean War veteran of the Army. He married Virginia A. Wheeler on July 12, 1952 in Baltimore Maryland.
Darral E. "Goody" Goodenow had first worked at his father's radiator shop in Maquoketa for a year. He then worked at Rosenberg Auto Supply in Maquoketa in the parts department for 45 years.
He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Maquoketa, and the Maquoketa American Legion Post #75. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and music- especially listening to the radio.
He is survived by: his wife- Virginia A. Goodenow of Maquoketa, IA; 1 sister- Shirley(Mrs. David) Burns of Maquoketa, IA; 1 brother- Frank(Jane) Goodenow of Maquoketa, IA; & several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation or the Clinton VNA Hospice.

Darwin Lee Weimerskirch
Darwin Lee Weimerskirch, infant son of Randy R. and Jami M. (Milder) Weimerskirch, of Clinton, Iowa, was stillborn on Friday evening, September 12, 2003 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
Private Family Services will be held. There was no visitation. The Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa was in charge of arrangements.
Darwin Lee Weimerskirch is survived by: his parents- Randy & Jami Weimerskirch of Clinton, IA; 3 brothers- James & Nathaniel Weimerskirch of Andrew, IA, & Ryker Weimerskirch of Clinton, IA; paternal grandparents- Virgil & Verla Weimerskirch of LaMotte, IA; maternal grandparents- Ellen & Steve DeMoss of Preston, IA, & John(Nancy) Milder of OH; paternal great-grandmother?s- Clara Weimerskirch of Maquoketa, IA, & Marcella Ambrosy of Dubuque, IA; & maternal great-grandparents- Williard & Joan Milder of OH, & Fred & Iola DeMoss of Welton, IA. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents- Wilbert Weimerskirch, Ervin Ambrosy & Henrey & Helen Clark.

Betty L. Tubbs, age 79, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Wednesday morning, September 17, 2003, at the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 20, 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Friday, September 19, 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa.
Betty L. Tubbs was born on January 20, 1924 in Iron Hill, Iowa to Harlan Welch and Edith (Willison) Welch. She had attended country schools and the Baldwin High School.
Betty L. Tubbs had first worked on the assembly line at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa. She then worked as a Certified Nurses Aide for many years. She had worked for the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa, and as a private duty nurses aide.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, camping and boating, and was a collector of unicorns.
She is survived by: children- Gloria Wilhelm of Maquoketa, IA, Georgia(Mrs. Robert) Drumm of Maquoketa, IA, Larry(Evelyn) Tubbs of Maquoketa, IA, Jesse(Xera) Tubbs of Oxford Junction, IA, & Michael(Barbara) Tubbs of Maquoketa, IA; 19 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren & step-great-grandchildren, & 4 great-great-grandchildren; & 1 sister- Shirley Maule of Dubuque, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, & 2 grandchildren.
A Betty L. Tubbs Memorial Fund has been established.

Alice M. Eberly
Alice M. Eberly, age 60, of Davenport, Iowa, and formerly of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Wednesday morning, September 17, 2003 at the Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, September 23, 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa, with Rev. Gerald Gjerde of the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Monday, September 22, 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Andrew, Iowa Cemetery.
Alice M. Eberly was born on May 26, 1943 in Maquoketa, Iowa to Harry C. Huebbe and Marie (Hoover) Huebbe. She married Dallas Eberly on November 25, 1989 in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Mrs. Eberly was a homemaker and had moved with her family to Davenport 7 years ago. She was a member of the Eagles Club, and the First Lutheran Church, both in Maquoketa. She enjoyed collecting jewelry, owls, doing puzzle books and gardening. She especially enjoyed her flowers.
She is survived by: her husband- Dallas Eberly of Davenport, IA; 1 daughter- Paula Eberly of Davenport, IA; 2 brothers- Harry (Ruth) Huebbe, Jr. of Baldwin, IA, & Elmer (Rachel) Huebbe of Maquoketa, IA; & many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents & 2 sisters.
An Alice M. Eberly Memorial Fund has been established.

Darlene R. McCloy
Darlene R. McCloy, age 73 of Baldwin, Iowa, died Thursday evening, September 18, 2003 at the Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, September 22, 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 P.M. on Sunday, September 21, 2003 at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa.
Darlene R. McCloy was born on November 22, 1929 in Low Moor, Iowa to John Lee and Rose (Paysen) Lee. She was a graduate of Calamus High School. She married Billy McCloy on July 30, 1950 in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Mrs. McCloy had worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa as a machine operator for 5 years. She then farmed with her husband for 40 years in the rural Baldwin area.
She enjoyed visiting the Jackson County Senior Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by: her husband- Billy McCloy of Baldwin, IA; & several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers & 3 sisters.

Barbara Sue "Barbie" (Widel) Miller
Barbara Sue "Barbie" (Widel) Miller, age 45, of Beaverton, Oregon, and formerly of Maquoketa, Iowa, died suddenly, Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
Memorial Services will be held at 5 P.M., Saturday, September 27, 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2 until 5 P.M. Service Time, on Saturday, September 27, 2003, from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Scattering of the Cremated Body will take place at a later date.
Barbara Sue "Barbie" Miller was born on March 19, 1958 in Maquoketa, Iowa to Lyle F. Widel, Jr. and Barbara (Zaruba) Widel. She was a 1976 graduate of Maquoketa Community High School and had attended the University of Dubuque. She married Carl Miller on February 6, 1988 in Maquoketa, Iowa. They also moved to Oregon in 1988.
Barbara had worked as a sales representative for Arrow Electronics in Beaverton since 1993.
Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was especially fond of her nieces and nephews and her dog "Tucker".
She is survived by: her husband- Carl Miller of Beaverton, OR; her mother- Barbara Widel of Maquoketa, IA; 2 brothers- John(LeAnn) Widel of Maquoketa, IA, & Dick(Beth) Widel of Maquoketa, IA; 2 sisters- Judy(Mrs. Tony) Carr of Maquoketa, IA, & Joyce(Mrs. Rich) Majerus of Sycamore, IL; 9 Nieces & Nephews- Abby & Lexi Widel, Kyle & Kara Widel, Travis, Emily & Alicia Carr, & Emma & Jack Majerus. She was preceded in death by her grandparents & her father.
Memorials may be made to the Providence St. Vincent Foundation, Heart Fund.

Betty L. Hovey, age 77, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Saturday, September 27, 2003, at her home in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Public Graveside Services and Burial will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, October 3, 2003 from the Andrew, Iowa Cemetery. Rev. Pamela Schroeder of the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. on Friday, October 3, 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Betty L. Hovey was born on August 25, 1926 in Madison County, Illinois to Walter R. Hovey and Elizabeth L. (Cornelius) Hovey. She never married.
Betty L. Hovey had worked at the former South Bend Fishing Tackle Company and as a nurses aide at Manning Nursing Home in Maquoketa. She had also done housework for several years.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa and the Maquoketa VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved children and her pet parakeet.
She is survived by: 1 brother- Louis C.(Lorraine) Hovey of Evansdale, IA; & 2 sisters- Fern Houghton of Nacogdoches, TX, & Darlene(Mrs. Fred) Petersen of Pueblo, CO; & many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Anita Meade
Anita Meade, age 71, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Tuesday morning, October 7, 2003 at her home in Maquoketa, surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 11, 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M., Friday, October 10, 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction, Iowa.
Anita Meade was born on January 4, 1932 in Jones County, Iowa, Hale Township to Manfred Vince Powelka and Viola (Burda) Powelka. She was a 1950 graduate of Maquoketa Community High School. She then attended beauty school in Cedar Rapids and floral college in Chicago, Illinois. She married Ronald E. Meade on December 27, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He preceded her in death in August of 1979.
Anita Meade was a self-employed beautician in Maquoketa for several years. She and her husband then started RonAnn's Floral Shoppe and Greenhouse in 1955. Although she sold the business to her daughter, Wendy Scott in January of 2001, she continued to be active in the greenhouse until present.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Maquoketa, Pythian Sisters, Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and Stephan's Ministry.
She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, flowers and growing plants. She also enjoyed the foreign exchange program and had been involved in the Foreign Exchange Service YFU (Youth For Understanding).
She is survived by: children- Wendy(Mrs. Dennis) Scott of Baldwin, IA, LeAnn(Mrs. Richard) McCallister of Maquoketa, IA, & Daylyn(Kris Heinemann) Meade of Sebastopol, CA; step-children- Dianne(Mrs. Vic) Rathje of Amana, IA, & Ramona(Mrs. Wayne) Moon of Wister, OK; 1 brother- Leroy(Virginia) Powelka of Maquoketa, IA; 1 sister- Dorothy(Mrs. John) Chesney of Zwingle, IA; 10 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, & twin sons.
An Anita Meade Memorial Fund has been established.
