CHAMBERLIN, Harold D. Chamberlin, 82 years old of Atchison, KS. died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 at the Atchison Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, Nov. 2nd, 2005 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Valerian Ahles, Pastor of St. Mark's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Mark's Lutheran Church or for Alzheimer's Research. Condolences to the family may be left on line at www.beckerdyer.com.
Mr. Chamberlin was born on May 27, 1923 in Falls City, NE., the son of Willis D. and Lillian J. (Bragdon) Chamberlin. He graduated from Robinson High School, Robinson, KS., He graduated from Emporia State College with a degree in teaching. Mr. Chamberlin was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He worked at the former L.F.M./ Rockwell International, Atchison for 10 years. He then worked as a window clerk for the Atchison Post Office for 30 years before retiring in 1987. He was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, a member of the Post #1175 VFW, and Fleming-Jackson-Seever American Legion Post #6, Atchison, KS. Mr. Chamberlin enjoyed snow skiing, his dogs and especially his grandchildren.
Harold was married to Vivian Burden. They were later divorced. He was married to Verna M. Begesse on January 16, 1987 in Atchison, KS. She survives of the home, Atchison, KS. Additional survivors include three daughters; Betty and her husband Ernie Carter, Atchison, KS., Ayn Jimenezsaavedra, North Carolina, and Cindy and her husband Eddie McKnight, Atchison, KS. twelve grandchildren and a cousin Keith Bragdon, Hawaii. His parents, a son, Kenneth Chamberlin, and a daughter; Nancy Blakley preceded him in death.

ELLISON, Hildred W. Ellison, 95 years old of Atchison, died Wednesday, Oct. 26th 2005 at the Atchison Senior Village.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, Oct. 31, 2005 at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Eduardo Bousson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Atchison, KS. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM on Sunday, Oct. 30th, 2005 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the United Methodist Church. Hildred W. Norwood was born on Nov. 12, 1909 in Danville, Ill, the daughter of Gregory and Iva (Hershburger) Norwood. She graduated from Filmore High School, Filmore, MO. and moved to Atchison in 1942. Mrs. Ellison was a seamstress and did sewing for people out of her home for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Atchison, and enjoyed roses, raising flowers, cooking and sewing.
She was married to Charles J. Ellison on July 22, 1928 in Hallowell, KS. Mr. Ellison preceded her in death in 1982. Her parents, a brother; Emmett Norwood, and a sister, Esma Starts also preceded her in death. Survivors include a son; Keith and his wife Nancy Ellison, Atchison, KS., three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

HINZ, Albert K. Hinz, 86 years old of Atchison, Ks. formerly of Lancaster, Ks. died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005 at the Atchison Senior Village.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, Oct. 29th, 2005 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 PM on Saturday at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. John's Lutheran Church, Lancaster, KS. Mr. Hinz was born on Dec. 26, 1918 in Lancaster, KS. the son of Gustave and Julia (Gigstad) Hinz. He attended grade school near Lancaster, and graduated from Atchison County Community High School, Effingham in 1937. He attended DeVry University specializing in television repair. He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran having served in India and Burma. Mr. Hinz had worked for Pillsbury's in Atchison, was a farmer and owned and operated the Al's T.V. Repair service, Lancaster, KS. Mr. Hinz was the manager for the former Atchison Cablevision for many years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Lancaster, KS., a member of the Fleming-Jackson-Seever American Legion Post #6, Atchison, KS. and the Post #1175 of the V.F.W., Atchison, KS. He enjoyed raising roses, being outdoors, and boating.
Mr. Hinz was married to Ruby Hood on Oct. 5, 1946 at the First Christian Church, Atchison. KS. Mrs. Hinz survives of their home in Atchison, KS. Additional survivors include a son; Kenneth E. and his wife JoEllen Hinz, Leavenworth, KS. and five grandchildren. His parents, a stepson; Roy A. Koehler, three brothers; Walter, Glen, and Clarence 'Pete' Hinz, and a sister; Shirley Webb, preceded him in death.

DOMANN, Carl F. Domann, 79, Mooney Creek, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2005 at Jefferson County Geriatrics Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, October 27, 2005 at Corpus Christi Church at Mooney Creek. Burial at Mooney Creek Cemetery, Corpus Christi. Visitation will be from 7:00-8:30 PM Wednesday at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with a parish rosary at 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Corpus Christi Church or the Jefferson County Hospice and left in care of the funeral home.
Mr. Domann was born February 26, 1926 on the family farm near Mooney Creek, the son of Francis and Agnes (Wagner) Domann. He attended Corpus Christi School and Potter High School. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus council 2885 at Mooney Creek and a member of the Elks Lodge #647 of Atchison. He farmed his whole life on the family farm and sold seed corn and fertilizer for over 40 years to farmers throughout the community. Carl enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include nieces and nephews Francis Kram of Smithville, MO; James Kram of Ft. Worth, TX; John Kram of Leavenworth, KS; Mary Lineman of Wichita, KS; Ann Kram of Topeka, KS; Lawrence Domann of Nortonville, KS; Patrick Domann of Nortonville, KS; Robert Gering of Winchester, KS and John Gering of Cummings, KS.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Clarence and Leo Domann and sisters Alice Gering, Agnes Kram and Stella Domann.

SCHNEIDER, Melbern R. 'Bud' Schneider, 79, of Nortonville, KS died Friday evening, October 21, 2005, at his home in Nortonville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nortonville with Fr. Jon Hullinger, Celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery, Nortonville. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, Monday, at St. Joseph Church, Nortonville, where a Parish rosary followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Schneider are suggested to Jefferson County Hospice or St. Joseph Cemetery. The O'Trimble Funeral Home at Nortonville is in charge of the arrangements.
Bud was born December 10, 1925 at Nortonville, the son of Joseph and Ida (Noll) Schneider. He attended rural Mt. Union School of Nortonville. Bud was a local dairy farmer for most of his life and had also worked as a welder for the former Rockwell International steel foundry of Atchison for 16 years from 1971 to 1989. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Nortonville; Knights of Columbus Council # 2093 of Nortonville; United Steelworkers Union Local # 6943 of Atchison; and the Eagles of Leavenworth. He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, and watching his grandchildren's sporting events.
Bud and Evelyn Louise McCoy were married on October 25, 1945 at St. Joseph Church in Nortonville. Evelyn proceeded in death on August 10, 2005. His parents, one brother, Celestine Schneider, one sister, Arlene Schneider, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Clifford Schneider of Winchester, and Randall Schneider and his wife, Amy, of Nortonville; one daughter, Ann Ray, and her husband, Albert, of Winchester; one sister, Iris Wilburn of Everest, KS; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

CHMIDLING, William 'Bill' Andrew Chmidling, 72, Nortonville, KS passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Village Villa Care Center, Nortonville, KS.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, October 22, 2005 at St. Joseph Church, Nortonville, KS. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. A parish rosary will be at 7:00 PM Friday, at St. Joseph Church with visitation following until 8:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Church and left in care of O'Trimble Funeral Home.
Mr. Chmidling was born October 24, 1932 in Easton, KS to John and Agnes (Meirer) Chmidling. In his early days he enjoyed farming for Albert and Mildred Nolting. Bill retired after 46 years as a water, wastewater and Public Works Director of Nortonville, KS. He served as former fire chief and City Marshall of Nortonville. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Nortonville. He enjoyed working with his cattle, hunting, yard work and gardening. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
William married Marilyn Wolters on April 16, 1955 at St. Joseph Church in Atchison, KS. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son Raymond Chmidling of Stillwater, OK; daughter Theresa Chmidling of Nortonville, KS. 2 granddaughters. Brothers John Chmidling of Basehor, KS and Jerry Chmidling of Leavenworth, KS; sister Mary Chmidling of Nortonville, KS; Carol Daniels of Leavenworth, KS and Joan Noll of Nortonville, KS. Nieces Mary Agnes Highfill and Janice Wilson; nephews Mark and Mike Chmidling whom he helped raised and numerous other nieces and nephews

VANDERWEIDE, Lucy Margaret Vanderweide, 85 years old, of Atchison, Ks. died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, Oct. 14th, 2005 at St. Joseph's Church, with Fr. Bertrand LaNoue, O.S.B. as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Atchison, KS.. A parish rosary will be recited on Thursday, Oct. 13th, beginning at 7:00 PM with visitation to follow until 8:30 PM at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph's Church or the Atchison Hospice.
Lucy M. Schuele was born on Dec. 10, 1919 in Atchison, KS. the daughter of Karl and Katherine (Erpelding) Schuele. She graduated from the Mt. St. Scholastica Academy in 1937. She was a homemaker, a member of the St. Joseph's Church, and former member of St. Patrick's Church. Mrs. Vanderweide was a member of the Altar Society, St. Joseph's, a member of the Mt. Pleasant Home Demonstration Unit, was a former 4-H Sewing Leader, and enjoyed embroidery, sewing, baking, and gardening. She especially enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
Lucy was married to Charles T. Vanderweide on Oct. 12th, 1938 at St. Benedict's Church, Atchison. Mr. Vanderweide preceded her in death on May 31, 2000. Her parents, two brothers, and six sisters also preceded her in death. Survivors include five sons; Charles Vanderweide, Jr., Atchison, KS., Stephen and his wife Alice Vanderweide, Atchison, Ks., Vincent and his wife Karen Vanderweide, Mark and his wife Linda Vanderweide, and Aloysius and his wife Mary Ann Vanderweide, Shawnee, KS., three daughters; Mrs. June M. Bird, Atchison, KS., Ms. Marjorie Vanderweide, Leavenworth, KS., and Teresa Swarts, Olathe, KS., twenty one grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

KUYKENDALL, Bobbi C. Kuykendall, 35 Effingham, KS passed away Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, MO.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Effingham, KS. Visitation will be from 7:00-8:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Atchison Humane Society or to the family to assist in funeral expenses and left in care of the funeral home.
Mrs. Kuykendall was born January 13, 1970 in Galveston, TX. The daughter of Jess and Sue (Duggins) Weeden. She was a graduate of Wagoner High School in Oklahoma, and attended the First Baptist Church in Wagoner. She moved to the Effingham area in 1997. She had been employed with Effingham Schools as a Para educator. Bobbi enjoyed most of all her pets, singing at church, scrap booking, writing poems, gardening and fishing.
She married Brian Kuykendall on March 20, 1998 in Topeka, KS. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include her siblings Debbie Herman and her husband Ted of Alvin, TX; Mary Day and her husband Warren of Siloam Springs, AR; Beth White and her husband Gary of Oklahoma City, OK, Patty Amaan and her husband Carl of St. Louis, MO; Shirley Allred of Oklahoma, OK and Stephen Weeden and his wife Tara of Wagner, OK. Numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister Shelly Weeden and her parents.
