Jason Lee Graham, 21, of 1870 Broadwell Oaks Drive, died June 1, 2001.
A native of San Diego, CA, he was a son of Linda Kurinsky of Alparetta, and Edward Graham, Jr. of Athens. A resident of Athens until 1999, he attended Cedar Shoals High School.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 4, 2001, at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, EAST. Rev. Bill Mounts will officiate. Entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors in addition to his parents include a brother, Ryan T. Graham of Alpharetta; grandparents, Jessie and Edward Graham, Sr. of Athens; Robert B. McAvoy of Austell, and Patricia M. Davidson of Tucson, Arizona; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at the funeral home, and at the residence of Jessie and Edward Graham, Sr., 215 Thornhill Drive, Athens, GA 30605.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1841 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA 30329, in honor of Robert B. McAvoy.

Ellis "Billie" Garrett
1917 - 2001
Athens, GA
Ellis "Billie" Garrett, 84, of 220 Devonshire Drive, died May 13, 2001.
A native of Charing, GA, he was a son of the late Robert Lester and Janie Terry Garrett. He was a 1934 graduate of Butler High School and a 1938 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He was manager of Athens Co-op Creamery from 1944-1953 and organized the Southeastern Co-operative Association. Mr. Garrett taught school in Oconee County for 7 years and was a member of Oconee County Teachers Association. Mr. Garrett was founder of The Ellis Corporation and was a long-time businessman in the Athens area.
He was a charter member of Classic City Lions Club, where he served as President in 1977-78, and received the Distinguished Service Award in 1986-87. He was recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for humanitarian service from Lions Club International Foundation. He was a member of various civic and community organizations, including Mt. Vernon Lodge, UGA Agriculture Alumni Association, Lifetime member of FFA, Sons of the American Revolution and Sons of Confederate Veterans. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Athens and the Forum Sunday School Class where he was past president.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Bill Britt and Rev. Grady Wigley officiating. Interment will be Thursday, May 17, 2001, at 1:30 PM at Bloodworth Cemetery, Charing, GA with Rev. Frank Terry officiating.
Pallbearers will be J.R. Garrett, Dallas Cannady, Sammie Parkman, Dan Deaton, Michael Hyatt, and Doyle Ashley.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Booth Garrett; 3 daughters, Leandra Garrett Armour of Cookeville, TN, Donna Garrett Keith of Athens, and Ellisa Garrett of Athens; 2 sons-in-law, Dr. Robert Alexander Armour of Cookeville, TN and Jerry Midden of Athens; Sister, Emily Garrett Callahan of Reynolds, GA; 5 granddaughters, Bonnie Keith, Susan Keith Justice, Elizabeth Armour Orsbon, Pamela Midden, Rebecca Midden; and 5 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1109, Athens,GA, 30603.

Chance Gaskin
1985 - 2001
Athens, GA
Chance Gaskin, 16, died October 21, 2001.
She lived in Athens since 1988 where she attended school at Gaines Elementary, Hilsman Middle and St. Joseph's Catholic Schools. She was currently a student at Athens Tech. Chance attended Green Acres Baptist Church and Prince Avenue Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 25, 2001 at 11:00 AM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST with Revs. Bill Ricketts and E.J. "Woody" Clark officiating. Interment will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
Survivors include her mother and step-father, Virginia and Michael Ratliff of Acworth; Identical twin sister, Jessica Gaskin of Athens; Grandparents, Saxton R.,Jr. and Glenda A. Gaskin of Athens; and several aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.

Sadie Goodwin
Bogart, GA
Sadie Josephine Thompson Goodwin, 79, died April 16, 2002.
A native of Philippine Islands, she was a daughter of the late Albert Tansley Luck and Mercedes Salazar.
A resident of this area since 1976, she was a charter member of the Athens Lioness Club, among the first female members of Athens Lions Club and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Memorial services will be Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 12:00 Noon at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST.
Survivors include her husband, John B. Goodwin; 2 daughters, Myra Aranda of Pacifica, CA and Maria Goodwin of Atlanta; Son, Paul J. Goodwin of Tacoma, WA; Sister, Gladys Brown of Long Beach, CA; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Georgia Lions Lighthouse, 1775 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30033.

Janette W. Griffeth
1913 - 2001
Danielsville, GA
Janette W. Griffeth, 88, of 618 Griffeth Road, died May 13, 2001.
A native of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Jack Andrew and Lynn Dillard Williams and the widow of J.Dwight Griffeth, Sr. She was retired from New Way Dry Cleaners and was a member of Moon's Grove Baptist Church, where she was active in the Ladie's Overcomers Sunday School Class, Moon's Grove Super Senior Adult Group, and the Moon's Grove Ladies Prayer Circle. She was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma W. McElroy.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at 3:00 PM at Moon's Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Lee officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Bobbie Griffeth Freeman of Jefferson and Anne Griffeth Sisk of Danielsville; 2 sons, Dwight Griffeth, Jr. of Danielsville and Thomas J. Griffeth of Jefferson; sister, Serena D. Williamson of Hull; brother, Dillard M. Williams of Langham, MD;
7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Griffeth, Joe Griffeth, Jason Griffeth, Tim Arthur, Randy Barrett and Alton Rowe.
Flowers will be accepted as well as memorials to St. Mary's Hospice, PO Box 6588, Athens, GA, 30604.
The family will receive friends at the funeral homeMonday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.
