Thomas Dillard
EVENSVILLE -- Thomas H. Dillard died Friday, May 5, 2000, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was 62.
Mr. Dillard was a native of Rhea County, Tenn., and longtime resident of Battle Creek, Mich. He was a retired fork-lift operator with Hydreco Corp. in Galesburg, Mich. Mr. Dillard was a member of the Wolverine Coon Hunters Club in Battle Creek for more than 30 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Dillard; son, Tommy Dillard; brother, Billy Dillard; and sister, Ruth Leffew.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Jane Dillard; two daughters, Debra Rowden, Evensville, Tenn., and Hazel McFadden, Battle Creek; mother, Hazel Dillard, Rhea County; four brothers, James Dillard, Battle Creek, Ed, Stirl and Jan Dillard, all of Rhea County; sister, Jessie Hale, Rhea County; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be today at 4 p.m. at Vanderwall Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Bolton officiating.
Burial will be in Hicks Cemetery in Battle Creek.
Visitation will be today after 10 a.m. at Vanderwall Funeral Home.

Herbert Farmer
CLEVELAND -- Herbert H. "Guy" Farmer died Thursday, May 4, 2000. He was 71.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Thacker officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alhambra Shrine, 1000 Alhambra Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

Shelby Frye
CLEVELAND -- Shelby Little Frye died Friday, May 5, 2000, at her home. She was 55.
The funeral will be Monday at 4 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Herb Conley and the Rev. Bill Griffith officiating.
Burial will be in Tasso United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Oney Harris
CLEVELAND -- Oney Bee Harris died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in an area hospital. She was 71.
The funeral will be today at 4 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fort Hill Cemetery.

Hellen Hickman
DAYTON -- Hellen Marie Hickman died Friday, May 5, 2000, at her home. She was 38.
Mrs. Hickman attended Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Clark.
Survivors include her husband, William Hickman; daughter, Sandra Owens, Sale Creek, Tenn.; two stepsons, Jimmy and Mark Hickman; Dayton; stepdaughter, Tracy Hickman, Dayton; mother, Margaretta Clark, Sale Creek; two brothers, Clifford Clark, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., and Bobby Clark, Cagle Mountain, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with the Rev. O.L. Hart officiating.
Visitation will be today after 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Glen Miller
CLEVELAND -- Glen E. Miller died Friday, May 5, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 60.
Mr. Miller was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and an Army veteran. He was an employee of Bendix Corporation and had served as union president. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Mae Fritts Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Miller; four daughters, Moneque Arrowood, Jill, Lynette and Megan Miller, all of Cleveland; six sons, Charles Miller, Harrison, Tenn., Eric, Craig, Justin, Jesse and Bryan Miller, all of Cleveland; five sisters, Jeanette Underwood, Cleveland, Pat Sipes, Cookville, Tenn., Caroline Payne, Cleveland, Charlotte Sipes, Nashville, Cathy Arthur, Cleveland; Two brothers, Buddy and Jimmy Miller, both of Cleveland and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 4 p.m. at Springplace Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Ray Cheathem and the Rev. David Riggs officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Visitation will be today after 2 p.m. at Fike Funeral Home.

Kermit Peak
OLD FORT -- Kermit Roosevelt Peak died Friday, May 5, 2000, in an area hospital. He was 84.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home with the Rev. Waymond Cooper and the Rev. G.L. Geren officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Polk County.
Visitation will be all day today at the funeral home.

Richard Pearson
KNOXVILLE -- Richard Lee "Pete" Pearson, formerly of Chattanooga, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, in a Knoxville hospital. He was 50.
Mr. Pearson was a member of Cannan Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo Brockman and Johnnie Pearson.
Survivors include two daughters, Altia and Takiela; brother, Harold Brockman; and five sisters, Brenda "Tootsie" Brown, Beverly McCoy Brown, Alice Smith, Linda Jones and Dilcie Posey.
The funeral was Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Cannan Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Middlebrook officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Jarnigan and Son Mortuary.
Announced locally by Crombie-Pinkard Funeral Service.

Carl Quarles
JASPER -- Carl Davis Quarles died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at his home. He was 75.
A graveside memorial service will be Monday at 10 a.m. CDT at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, with the Rev. John Smith and the Rev. Herman Lowe officiating.
There will be no visitation at Rogers Funeral Home, Jasper.

Pearlie Sapp
PIKEVILLE -- Pearlie Sapp died Thursday, May 4, 2000. She was 66.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. CDT at Putnam-Reed Funeral Home with the Rev. Daryl Evans officiating. Burial will be in Blackburn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Robert Shelton
KNOXVILLE -- Robert A. Shelton died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in a Knoxville hospital. He was 75.
The funeral will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Church Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. William J. Fowler and the Rev. Cabel Trent officiating.
Visitation will be after the service at the church.
A graveside service will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Chattanooga, with the Rev. Barry Kidwell and the Rev. Cabel Trent officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Church Street United Methodist Church of Knoxville or St. John United Methodist Church in Chattanooga.
Arrangements are by Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel, Knoxville.

Earl Smith
SPRING CITY -- Earl Mack Smith died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at his home. He was 76.
Mr. Smith was a native of Rhea County, Tenn. He owned and operated Southern Style Restaurant and Motel for many years. Mr. Smith was a member of Spring City First Baptist Church, Rhea Springs Lodge 310, Alhambra Shrine Temple and helped organize the Spring City Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Aikman Smith, Spring City; son, Jack Smith, Tullahoma, Tenn.; daughter, DeAna Smith Arnold, Dayton, Tenn.; brother, Jerry T. Smith, Spring City; sister, Velma Smith Henley, Spring City; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Allison and the Rev. Jeff Dew officiating. Burial will be in Spring City Cemetery with Masonic graveside services.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Margaret Smith
CLEVELAND -- Margaret Pearl Smith died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at the home of her daughter. She was 82.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Phillips and the Rev. Gary Tomberlin officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Betty Underwood
DECATUR -- Betty J. Underwood died Friday, May 5, 2000, in a Knoxville hospital. She was 62.
Mrs. Underwood was a lifelong member of Beulah Chapel Church of the Nazarene and preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Mamie Ingram Wattenbarger; sister, Helen Wattenbarger and an infant daughter.
Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Underwood; son, J.C. Crabtree, Niota, Tenn.; four sisters, Irene Thompson, Sweetwater, Tenn., Ruby Tilley, Niota, Wanda Monroe, Decatur, and Jane Foster, Chattanooga; four brothers, Willie and Keith Wattenbarger, both of Sweetwater, Garland Wattenbarger, Cleveland, Tenn., and Ray Wattenbarger, Athens; a grandson and two great-grandsons.
The funeral will be today at Beulah Chapel Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Bill Dawson and the Rev. Arthur Stansberry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are by Kyker Funeral Home.
