RICEVILLE -- Doyle Whitley died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in an area hospital. He was 76.
Arrangements will be announced by Ziegler Funeral Home in Athens, Tenn.

Alton Collette Sr.
CLEVELAND -- Alton Ralph Collette Sr. died Thursday, May 4, 2000. He was 60.
The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Melton and the Rev. Tommy Brown officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.

George Creasman
DAYTON -- George Marion Creasman died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at the home of his daughter. He was 94.
He was a retired coal miner and attended the Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecil Bonzella Creasman and a son Preston Creasman.
Survivors include four daughters, Margaret Gossett, Bonnie Gossett, Susie Thurman, and Patsy Berger, all of Dayton; five sons, Johnny, Claude, Donald, and Michael Creasman, all of Dayton, and Marion Creasman, Pikeville, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at Vanderwall Funeral Home with sister Opal Scott and the Rev. Anthony Gossett officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasantview Cemetery, Graysville, Tenn.

Otis Ensley
CLEVELAND -- Otis W. Ensley died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in an area hospital. He was 88.
He was a Protestant and a steamfitter with Local 43.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Davis Ensley.
Survivors include two sons, Frank B. Ensley, Chattanooga, and John R. Ensley, Cleveland; three brothers, Jack E. Ensley, Cleveland, Burt W. Ensley, Chattanooga, and Billy Ensley, Ohio; two sisters, Frances Ensley, Cleveland, and Opal Epperson, Chattanooga; four grandchildren and three great-graandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Grissom Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Shelby Frye
CLEVELAND -- Shelby Little Frye died Friday, May 5, 2000, at her home. She was 55.
The funeral will be today at 4 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Herb Conley and the Rev. Bill Griffith officiating.
Burial will be in Tasso United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Hellen Hickman
DAYTON -- Hellen Marie Hickman died Friday, May 5, 2000, at her home. She was 38.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with the Rev. O.L. Hart officiating.

Mildred Meeks
COALMONT -- Mildred Irene Brown Meeks died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in an area nursing home. She was 83.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. Meeks; and a daughter, Donna Lou Irvin.
Survivors include a son, Robert Meeks, Coalmont; two daughters, Barbara Burrows and Patsy McGinnis, both of Coalmont; four brothers, James, Howard and Lewis Brown, all of Coalmont, and Duke Brown, McMinnville, Tenn.; three sisters, Susie Mae Childers, Tracy City, Tenn., Iva Jean Church, Kimball, Tenn., Nellene Rogers, Coalmont; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Cumberland Funeral Home, Tracy City, with the Rev. Clayton Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Coalmont Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Glen Miller
CLEVELAND -- Glen E. Miller died Friday, May 5, 2000, in a local hospital. He was 60.
The funeral will be today at 4 p.m. at Springplace Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Ray Cheathem and the Rev. David Riggs officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are by Fike Funeral Home.

Kermit Peak
OLDFORT -- Kermit Roosevelt Peak died Friday, May 5, 2000, in an area hospital. He was 84.
The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home with the Rev. Waymond Cooper and the Rev. G.L. Geren officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Polk County.

Carl Quarles
JASPER -- Carl Davis Quarles died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at his home. He was 75.
A graveside memorial service will be today at 10 a.m. CDT at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, with the Rev. John Smith and the Rev. Herman Lowe officiating.
Arrangements are by Rogers Funeral Home, Jasper.

Edgar Robinson
ATHENS -- Edgar Lee Robinson died Sunday, May 7, 2000, in an area hospital. He was 75.
Arrangements will be announced by Ziegler Funeral Home, Athens.

Robert Shelton
KNOXVILLE -- Robert A. Shelton died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in a Knoxville hospital. He was 75.
A graveside service will be today at 2 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Chattanooga, with the Rev. Barry Kidwell and the Rev. Cabel Trent officiating.
Arrangements are by Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel, Knoxville.

Earl Smith
SPRING CITY -- Earl Mack Smith died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at his home. He was 76.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Allison and the Rev. Jeff Dew officiating. Burial will be in Spring City Cemetery with Masonic graveside services.

Leon Smith
PALMER -- Leon W. Smith died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in a health care facility in Chattanooga. He was 62.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Mattie Smith, and a brother, Johnny S. Smith.
Mr. Smith was employed by Marion Auto in South Pittsburg, Tenn.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Tate Smith, Palmer; daughter, Kathy Hargis, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two sons, Melvin Smith, Davidson, N.C., and Tim Smith, Palmer; six grandchildren.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. CDT at Layne Funeral Home with brother John Coffelt and brother Malcolm James officiating.
Burial will be in Palmer City Cemetery.

Margaret Smith
CLEVELAND -- Margaret Pearl Smith died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at the home of her daughter. She was 82.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Phillips and the Rev. Gary Tomberlin officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Doyle Whitley
RICEVILLE -- Doyle McKinness Whitley died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in an area hospital. He was 76.
He was the former owner and operator of Hughes Cafeteria and the Robert E. Lee Hotel in Athens, Tenn. He worked many years with the McMinn County Sheriff's Department serving as deputy, court officer and process tax server for Chancery Court. He also had served with the Athens City Police Department and worked for Beauknit. He was employed with Pinkerton Security. He had served in the Army and was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 32 and a member of Mars Hill Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Thompson Morgan Whitley, Riceville; two sons, Jack Whitley, Franklin, Tenn., and Don Whitley, Nashville; stepson, Robert Morgan, Riceville; stepdaughter, Cathy Wilson, Riceville.
The funeral will be today at 8 p.m. at Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Lucas officiating.
Burial will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Vernie Yates
ATHENS -- Vernie Yates died Sunday, May 7, 2000, in an area health care facility.
Arrangements will be announced by Ziegler Funeral Home, Athens.

Mary Atterton
WHITWELL -- Mary Will Atterton died Monday, May 8, 2000, at her home. She was 65.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Saynes.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert Ray Atterton; sister, Louise Slatton, Whitwell; three brothers, Paul Saynes, Baker, La., Clifford Saynes, Union Town, Pa., and Bill Saynes, Whitwell; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Merciers and the Rev. Hershel Powell officiating.
Burial will be in Whitwell Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

OCOEE -- Vernon L. Bailey died Monday, May 8, 2000.

Juanita Boston
DUNLAP -- Juanita Allen Boston died Monday, May 8, 2000, at her home. She was 86.
The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. CDT at Ewton Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Gholson officiating.
Burial will be in Hixson Cemetery.

Margaret Campbell
TRACY CITY -- Margaret Sanders Campbell died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, in an area hospital. She was 78.
She was a retired Tracy City merchant and the widow of Jim Campbell.
Survivors include two sons, James E. and Roger V. Campbell, Tracy City; brother, Marvin Sanders, Hendersonville, Tenn.; sister, Dorothy Patterson, Pelham, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Foster & Sons Funeral Home with brother Mike Partin officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Horace Cheshire Jr.
TULLAHOMA -- Horace Edward "Chet" Cheshire Jr. died Monday, May 8, 2000, in an area hospital. He was 74.
The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. CDT at Tullahoma Funeral Home with Jim Gray officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Walter Clift
CLEVELAND -- Walter Clift died Monday, May 8, 2000, at his home. He was 94.
Mr. Clift retired from the United States Department of Agriculture, following 30 years of service. He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Alhambra Temple and Cleveland Masonic Lodge 134.
He was the husband of the late Ray Mobley Clift.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Fabiani Clift; son, the Rev. Joe Clift, Albany, Ga.; two stepdaughters; a stepson; two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be today at 2 p.m. at Presbyterian Cemetery in Soddy-Daisy with Dr. David Tullock officiating.
Arrangements are by Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.

Tanya Culpepper
ESTILL SPRINGS -- Tanya Renee' Culpepper died Sunday, May 7, 2000, in an area hospital. She was 34.
She was a graduate of Tullahoma High School and was the health and beauty care manager at the Bi-Lo in Tullahoma, Tenn. She was a member of Tree of Life Fellowship Church in Shelbyville, Tenn.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Culpepper; parents, Joe and Alice Hale, Tullahoma; son, Jesse W. Culpepper, Estill Springs; brother, Joe D. Hale, Tullahoma; two sisters, Tammi Moore, Normandy, Tenn., and Jamie Hale, Tullahoma; grandmother, Ruby Cathey, Normandy.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Tullahoma Funeral Home with pastor Roger Wagoner officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Olen Dishman
DUNLAP -- Olen Dishman died Sunday, May 7, 2000, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was 65.
The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. CDT at Putnam-Standefer-Reed Funeral Home with sister Thelma Roby and the Rev. Leroy Burks officiating.
Burial will be in Collier Cemetery.
