HELEN A. RIGGS 1921 - 2004
Helen A. Riggs, age 82, of Ithaca, NY died after a short illness on January
13, 2004. She was born to Mildred (All) and Joseph Dibble of Hobart, NY on
April 24, 1921 into a large loving clan of hard working Delaware County Dairy
Farmers. She was raised with ten siblings and over three-dozen foster children
that were brought into the Dibble family over several decades.
She is survived by her great grandchildren Emily and Aaron Tugaw and Kristine
and Patrick Furgison; grandchildren Kevin (and Sharon) and Kelly Riggs and
William John Bell and Kerry-Jo and (Shawn) Furgison; Mark, Shawn, and Curt
Tugaw; and Jessica (and Daniel) Greenwood; children Neal (and Patricia) Riggs
of Canton, Beverly (and John) Tugaw of Liverpool, and Deborah (and John) Homa,
Jr. of Ithaca; brothers Leonard (and Caryl) Dibble of Bloomsburg, Arnold (and
Ruth) Dibble of Hobart, Fred (and Genie) Dibble of Kirkville, and George (and
Eileen) Bronson of Delmar; sisters Wilma (and the late Horace) Miller of
Stamford; Georgia (and the late Marshall) Worden of Stamford, Leota (and
William) Wright of Jackson, MI, and Arlene Dibble of Hobart and sisters-in-law
Jane Riggs of Ithaca, Dorothy Dibble and Frances Darrah.
Helen was predeceased by her grandson Keith Riggs; husband Ernest M. Riggs.
Jr.; brothers Chauncey Dibble of Evans Mills; Ted Dibble of Hobart; and
brothers and sisters-in-law Mike (and Amanda) Riggs of Ithaca and Miriam (and
Harold) Wafler of Florida. She had many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Riggs was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother and had
been a Nurses Aide at Tompkins County Hospitals for over twenty-five years.
Her care and concern of others are but a few of the admirable qualities she
possessed.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 11:30am at The Lansing Funeral Home, Inc.
Burial in Frear Memorial Park will be private. The family will receive friends
on Saturday morning, between the hours of 10:00am and 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospicare 172 E. King Rd, Ithaca,
NY or a charity of your choice.

SARA BARNEY 1914 - 2003
Sara Barney, 89 of Savage Farm Drive, Ithaca, NY died Monday morning,December
22, 2003 at Kendal at Ithaca.

ALBERTA E. CRULL 1910 - 2003
Alberta Elizabeth Crull, 93 passed away at her home, 304 Candor Road, Spencer,
NY on Thursday evening, December 18, 2003.
Born January 22, 1910 in Penn Yan, New York, she was the daughter of the late
Stephen and Faye Cummings. She was preceded in death by two husbands; Alvatore
Liseno and Leon Crull, one stillborn son, and eleven siblings. During WW II,
she was a lineworker at the Hemmingway Canning Factory in Clyde, NY and since
that time she was a devoted homemaker and child care provider. Among her many
charges were Sue Ellen Castor Clarey and Jerry Carr. An avid rock gardener and
observer of current events and QVC, ?Grandma Berta? took particular joy in
raising Jerry Carr of Spencer, NY with whom she made her home for the past
twenty five years.. She served as beloved Nanny to all three of his and his
wife, Patrcia Greenwald Carr?s grown children; Jennifer Elizabeth of Chandler,
AZ. Justin Edward of Ithaca, NY and Jordan Elise at home. She also counted
among her great grandchildren, the two daughters of Jack and Julie Along Carr
of Cortland; Sarah Catherine at Niagara University and Susannah Damaris at
Shenandoah Conservatory of Music.
Her family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Marc Greenwald of the
Robert Packer Hospital, the entire staff of Sayre House for her rehabilitation
and Dan the Man, for her recent occupational therapy that he provided her, at
home. Further the family is grateful to Diana Acciarito and Jeanette Oshier for
their loving care and compassion for Grandma Berta?s recent personal needs.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 8:00pm at The Lansing Funeral Home Inc.
Interment will be private in South Butler Cemetery, North Rose, NY. Grandma?s
family will meet well-wishers and friends at the funeral home, 32 Auburn Road,
Lansing on Monday, between the hours of 2-4pm and 7-9pm and Tuesday from 7-8pm.

DONALD D."SMOKEY" WAGNER
Donald D. "Smokey" Wagner, 77 formerly of Lansing, NY died Friday evening, June
30, 2001 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Syracuse, New York.
Born August 29, 1923 in Lansing (Myers) NY, he was the son of the late Edward
and Blanche Inman Wagner. Mr. Wagner was employed by International Rock Salt
(now known as Cargill, Inc.) as a Salt Bagger and served in The United States
Army from 1943-1945 and in the United States AirForce from 1950 to 1954. He
received five battle stars for his service.
Surviving Mr. Wagner are one son, Donald Wagner, Jr, of Danby New York, a
niece, a nephew and many cousins. His extended family includes Mabel Teeter of
Groton, NY, May Brown and Mike Martin both of Locke, NY. He was preceded in
death by his parents and one brother, Edward Wagner, Jr.
Graveside Funeral services are schueduled at 10:00am Saturday, July 7, 2001 at
Pine Grove Cemetery, Lansing, New York. Rev. Martha E. Swords will officiate.
No public calling hours are scheduled.

ANDREW J. GEIGER 1931 - 2007
Andrew J. Geiger, age 75, of 75 Drake Road, died at 4:23 a.m. on Thursday, at
the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca.
Andrew was born on September 4, 1931 in Whitney Township, MI, a son of the late
George and Teresa Geiger. He moved to Venice Center as a young boy, and spent
his entire lifetime in the area. Andrew worked for the Village of Cayuga
Heights Public Works Department, retiring in 1998 with 43 years of service.
Andrew was a family man, making them his priority above all else, and his
loving nature will be forever cherished.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Vivian P. Geiger; his daughter, Deborah
(Keith Dodge) Geiger; and sons, Michael (Joni) Geiger and Ricky Geiger;
grandchildren, Jenny, Kelly, Mike and Matthew Geiger; his brothers, Bob
(Margaret), Hank, and George (Birdie) Geiger; and his wife's extended family.
Andrew was preceded in death by his brothers, Ed and Joseph Geiger; and
sisters, Helen Weeks, Margaret Rapone, Olga Holden, Teresa Bower and Mary
Geiger.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22,
2007, at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Road, Lansing. A funeral service to
celebrate Andrew's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2007,
at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Ken Negbesky of the Covenant Love
Community Church. Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Andrew's name may be directed to the SPCA of
Tompkins County, 1640 Hanshaw Road, Ithaca, NY 14850.

J. WILBUR 'Willie' BOLES 1940 - 2007
J. Wilbur "Willie" Boles, 66, of Lansing, NY, passed away on Tuesday, March 20,
2007, at Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY. He was predeceased by his father,
Raymond Boles; and nephew, Randy Boles. Willie is survived by his mother, Rose
Sutphin, Lansing; his children, Danny and Julie Boles, Lansing, Lisa and Dan
Quigley, Lansing, Tommy Boles, Ithaca, Vicki and Tom Sill, Lansing; the mother
of his children, Donna Doty; his eight grandchildren, Chelsea and Sierra Boles,
Kevin Kelsey and Cole Quigley, Darren Corey and Nathan Sill; his brothers and
sister-in-law, Stubby Boles, King Ferry, Walter Boles, Dryden, Jimmy and Carol
Boles, Lansing; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Sissy and Newell Fenner,
Lansing, Kathy and Albert Elser, Genoa, Mary Boles and Opie James, Lansing;
many nieces, nephews and their families.
Willie was born in Lansing on May 5, 1940. He was a 1959 graduate of King Ferry
Central Schools where he was Captain of the Varsity basketball team. After
graduation, he attended Riech Auctioneer School and began working as a
prominent auctioneer in the area. Willie worked for several sale barns
including Apulia, Moravia, Owego and Empire Livestock in Dryden, also operating
Willie's Auction Service throughout his entire career. He was an active member
of the Lansing, King Ferry community and was always supportive of many civic
organizations including 4-H, donating his time for countless benefits and
charity auctions.
Funeral services will be held at the United Ministry Church of Aurora, 337 Main
St., Aurora, NY, on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert
French, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in West Genoa
Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at Lansing Funeral Home, 32
Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY, on Friday evening, March 23, 2007, from 5:00 p.m.
until 8:00 p.m. Those wishing are asked to direct memorial contributions in
memory of Willie to 4-H Youth Development, 615 Willow Ave., Ithaca, NY; or the
Alzheimer's Assoc., Nichols Notch, 401 Hayes Ave., Endicott, NY 13760; or call
1-800-272-3900.
