passed away Friday, August 27 in the VA Nursing Home.
Husband of the late Elizabeth Cephas. Father of Eric, Bruce, Wallace, Cynthia and the late, Harry, Jr. and Reginald Roane. Son of the late, Harry and Pearl Roane. Brother of Mattie Toombs, Pearl DaCosta, Lucy Foxx, George Roane and the late Lillie Johnson, Leslie and Emmanuel Roane. Also survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Frank Edwin Rumford
Age 74 of Wilmington, DE, died at his home on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 just 2 days before his 75th birthday.
Mr. Rumford owned and operated service stations on Concord Pike for many years, then he went to work for A.I. duPont Institute and retired as supervisor of environmental services. Frank was an army veteran of the Korean conflict. Mr. and Mrs. Rumford are members of Chester Bethel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ann Carolyn Woodward Rumford; son, Frank E. Rumford, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen, daughter, Mary Ann Rumford; 1 brother Andrew P. Rumford of Glen Mills, PA and 2 grandchildren, Mackenzie E. and Zachary R. Rumford. Mr. Rumford is predeceased by his father and mother, Frank S. and Appollonia Glockner Rumford and his stepmother, Sophie Rumford.
Services will be 10 am Saturday, September 4, 2004 in the Chester Bethel United Methodist Church, 2619 Foulk Road, where friends may call from 9 until service time. Services will be officiated by the Reverend Al Taylor. Friends are also invited to call on the family Friday evening, September 3, from 6-8 pm in the McCrery Memorial Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Talleyville. Burial will follow the service in the adjoining church cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made in Mr. Rumford's memory to Chester Bethel United Methodist Church.

Michael C. Sacher
Age 70 of Roswell, GA, died Sunday, August 29, 2004.
Mr. Sacher graduated from St. Norbert's College and the University of Michigan School of Business. He served as an officer in the United States Navy and was a long time executive for the Kimberly Clark Corporation. A successful entrepreneur, Mr. Sacher was owner of Outdoors Unlimited, Inc. He was an extremely active member of St. Brigid Catholic Church, and was an enthusiastic golfer and fisherman. He was a great husband, father and friend. A man well loved and a life well lived.
Mr. Sacher is survived by his wife, Lois Sacher; daughter, Lisa Davis of Roswell, GA; son, Mark Sacher of Roswell, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Gayle Sacher of IL; father and stepmother; Joseph Vernon Sacher and Angeline Sacher, PA; sisters, Julie Martinenza and April Stercula of PA; brothers, Joseph, John and Thomas of DE; grandchildren, Ashley Davis, Samantha, A.J., Jackson, Conrad and Noelle Sacher; great grandchild, Jaylynn Davis Moreno, and nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at St. Brigid Catholic Church, Alpharetta, GA. Father Joe Corbett celebrant.

Amy Marie Schorah
Age 21, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2004.
Amy had been a student at the Harrison Career Center studying to be a nurse's assistant. She is survived by her mother, Barbara Schorah and companion, Reynaldo Santiago; her father, Gerald Long; 2 brothers, Gerald Schorah and Thomas Bauerle; 2 sisters, Danielle Schorah and Bethany Bauerle; maternal grandparents, Theresa and Jerome Schorah; paternal grandmother, Laura Long; and dear friend, Irwin.
She was predeceased by paternal grandfather, Frederick Long.
Amy was a loving person, going out of her way to help. She will be sadly and dearly missed by all her family and those who knew her.
A mass will be offered Saturday morning, September 4, 2004 at 10 am in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Cedar & S. Clayton Sts., with burial to follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Gregory L. Steiner
Age 38 of Easton, MD, died on Monday, August 30, 2004.
Gregory Lank Steiner was born in Milford, DE on October 15, 1965. He was the son of Donald Lawrence and Marie Dillon Steiner of Milford. After completing his public education, he attended Wake Forest University, where he received his BS degree in 1987. While there he was a member of Kappa Sigma and the R.O.T.C. He remained in the US Army reserve for several years. He then earned his MBA at Emory University where he was Phi Beta Kappa. While living in Atlanta, he worked as a financial consultant for Ernst & Young, then in business development for MCI and finally as an independent contractor for Tel Com Cost Control. In June of 2003, he moved to Easton and joined his family's oil and propane delivery service business, Service Energy, LLC in Milford, DE. At the time of his death, he was owner-operator of Clean Delaware, Inc., an environmental service company. An avid runner, who participated in a full Iron Man Triathlon, he also enjoyed listening to music, particularly Jam bands.
Surviving in addition to his parents, are his wife, the former Amanda Matule, whom he married in Wilmington, NC on October 11, 1997; a sister, Tracy Steiner McGowan of Richmond, VA, and a brother, Michael Lawrence Steiner of Wilmington, DE.
Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at Christ Episcopal Church, Easton, where he was a member. Interment will be private.

Bridget (Sweeney) Sullivan
Age 96 of Wilmington, DE, formerly of 1313 Lancaster Ave., Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 31, 2004.
Mrs. Sullivan, a homemaker, was born in Donegal, Ireland, daughter of the late John and Sophia (Ferry) Sweeney.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nora and Ray Jubb of Wilmington; 3 brothers, Davis Sweeney and Owen Sweeney, both of Donegal, Ireland, and Denis Sweeney of Glasgow, Scotland; and 3 sisters, Una Ronney and Sarah Harvey, both of Ireland, and Madge Greene of Scotland. Other survivors include 6 grandchildren, James and Eugene Owens, Raymond, Patrick and Brian Jubb and Norah Hallett; and 9 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 7-9 pm on Friday evening, September 3rd, at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone & Milltown Rds., Wilmington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Saturday, September 4th, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4th St., & Bancroft Pkwy., Wilmington.

Age 90 of Wilmington, DE died Wednesday, September 1, 2004, at St. Francis Hospital.
Pauline was the daughter of the late Elias and Millie Crawford and was born July 10, 1914 in Cher-okee, SC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Copeland; and son, Willie Dean Copeland. Mrs. Copeland leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Colleen Moore; beloved sisters, Alline Chambers and Alma Smith (Robert); loving grandchildren, Romonda Robinson, Benjamin K. Copeland, Adeana Copeland, Donita Copeland, Dean Edward Copeland, Sharon Copeland, Crystel Moore, Derick Washington, Dana Bungy, and Beanita and Deanita Thomas; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; adopted children, James Gooding and Willie and Margaret Sharpe; 1 aunt, Robena Singleton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

William Binck
William F. "Bill" Binck Of Delaware City, died Saturday, August 11, 2001 in his residence at age 50.
Mr. Binck was born in Philadelphia, PA, was a 1969 graduate of Salesianum School and attended college in Alabama, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He was a diver, having worked for Underwater Technics, and later, for Air Products. Bill is predeceased by his parents, Walter J. and Marie M. Binck and brother, Dr. Walter J. Binck.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and David Press; sister-in-law, Phyllis Binck of OK and 5 nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to his Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin on Tuesday morning, August 14 at 10:30 and interment in Cathedral Cemetery.

Francis Cicala
Francis (Frank) M. Cicala Died at home on August 19, 2001 at the age of 81. A graduate of Salesianum High School and the University of Delaware, Frank was also a 4 year Army veteran of World War II. Afterwards, he was employed by Zappacosta Brothers, Chrysler Defense, and Airco and Boc Gases, retiring from the company at 65.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Christopher Council and the Salesianum Alumni Association. He was very active in St. Helena's church. A member of the original parish council of 1976, he served on the finance committee. Frank was also a devoted choir member, cantor, usher, and fundraiser for the church.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah M. (Finocchiaro) Cicala, of 48 years. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing at BEESON MEMORIAL SERVICES of North Wilmington, 412 Philadelphia Pike, 764-2900, on Wednesday, August 22, 2001 after 7 pm and again on Thursday from 9-10 am. Mass will be held at St. Helena's Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike at 10:30 am with entombment in Cathedral Cemetery.

Mark J. deBrabander Age 24 of Kingston Acres, Bear, DE died Thursday, September 6, 2001 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mark was a supervisor at the Hotel duPont. He was a 1995 graduate of Salesianum High School and a 2000 graduate of the University of Delaware with a BS degree in business and economics. He enjoyed playing ice hockey and golf, and spending time with his nephew, Steven and his many friends. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church.
He is survived by his parents, Judy and Edward deBrabander of Bear; his sister, Gale deBrabander of Wilmington; his brothers, Steven of Wilmington and David of Bear; and his niece and nephew, Sydney and Steven Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 11 at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 duPont Blvd., Wilmington Manor. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. Robert Fangman
Robert John Fangman (Bobby-Bob-Rob) Age 33 of Chelsea, MA, formerly of Wilmington, DE, died September 11, 2001 aboard Uni-ted Flight #175, the 2nd airplane involved in the devastating act of terrorism against our country at the World Trade Center Building in New York City, NY.
Bob was born and reared in Claymont, DE, a graduate of Claymont High School and a student of the University of Delaware. He had joined United Airlines as a flight attendant in November 2000 and was based out of Boston, MA.
Bob was the loving son of Ruth M. Fangman of Claymont, DE and the late Paul A. Fangman. He will be dearly missed by his brothers and sisters and their spouses: Marty and Kristy Fangman of Keller, TX, Michael and Maria Fangman of Greensboro, NC, Steven Fangman of Newark, DE, Debbie Fangman and Greg Kruszewski of Wilmington, DE, Terri and Rich Frakes of Charlottesville, VA and Carole and Mike Ricci of Boothwyn, PA. He was also a beloved uncle to Haley, Jennifer, Stevie, Lindsay, Michael, Hajdeja and Tom; and to his great niece, Madison; and great nephews, Kyle and Myles. He also leaves behind a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and coworkers who loved him for the kind, loving, caring and compassionate soul that he was.

John Murray
John J. Murray Age 32, Partner and Director at Cantor Fitzgerald Securities working in Credit Derivatives, was lost in the World Trade Center attack on Tuesday, September 11, 2001.
"Jack", who would have celebrated his 33rd birthday on September 17, 2001, is survived by his wife, Rory Owens Murray and their 5 month old daughter Alyson Rose.
In addition, he is mourned by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Philip C. Murray of Wilmington, DE as well as his brothers, Philip and Michael; sisters, Catherine, Virginia and Jayne; his grandmother, Helen Murray; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and countless friends.
John was a 1986 graduate of Salesianum High School, Wilmington, DE and a 1990 graduate of Boston College.
During his college years, he spent his summers as an Ocean Lifeguard for the Town of Hempstead, N.Y.
Shortly after graduating, John began his Wall Street career at Tullett & Tokyo, moving on to Garvin Guy Butler and Patriot Securities before settling at Cantor Fitzgerald in 1995.
John and Rory were married in 1999 and spent the year 2000 living and working in London.
They returned to New York in 2001 and were residing in Hoboken, NJ. John was the Founder and President of "Putt for Progress", a foundation dedicated to raising money for Scleroderma Research.
He was a devoted family man, avid sportsman and active member of Rock Spring Country Club in West Orange, NJ.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 214 Nassau Street, Princeton, NJ on Saturday, September 22, 2001 at 11 am.

F. Kevin McGaughan
F. Kevin McGaughan Age 52 of Wilmington died at home on Wednesday, September 19, 2001.
Mr. McGaughan was a safety supervisor for 32 years for the DuPont Company working at numerous sites, most recently the Experimental Station. He was a 1967 graduate of Salesianum School and attended the University of Delaware. He was an avid golfer and president of the Early Bowl League. He was predeceased by his father, Francis J. McGaughan in 1995 and his mother, Ellen (Riley) McGaughan in 1987.
Kevin is survived by his son, Timothy M. of Bear; a sister, Ellen Beth Laucius of Newark; a brother, Brian J. of Berwyn; his companion and friend, Barbara Riebe, and a niece, Elizabeth.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 12 noon at MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Rds., Wilmington, where friends are invited to call on Sunday afternoon between 2-4 pm. Interment will be private.

John Pulgini
John J. Pulgini Mr. John J. Pulgini, age 52 of Wilmington, DE passed away Thursday morning, September 20, 2001 in the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
John was born in Wilmington October 12, 1948 and was a 1966 graduate of Salesianum High School. He attended the University of Delaware and graduated in 1970 with a BS in accounting. He was employed as a CPA with Hercules, Inc. for the past 23 years. John served in the National Guard, was a member of the American Association of Accountants, and an avid sports fan, who enjoyed following and discussing politics. He also loved animals.
His father, Peter P. Pulgini, passed away in 1955. John is survived by his wife of 27 years, Margaret D. (LaCourte) Pulgini; his son, John A. Pulgini of Wilmington; his mother, Mary (Pettinaro) Pulgini of Wilmington; his brother, Sam Pulgini of Plano, TX; his sisters, Rachela Pulgini and Margaret Pulgini, both of Wilmington; and his aunt, Sandine Pettinaro of Wilmington.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday morning, September 24 at St. Patrick's R.C. Church, 15th & King Sts., Wilmington, with entombment in the Sacred Heart Crypt in Cathedral Cemetery. Peter Martin
Peter P. Martin Age 91 of Woodcrest died at Christiana Hospital on Wednesday, October 17, 2001.
Mr. Martin was a supervisor in the sales department of Delmarva Power and Light until his retirement. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. An avid sports fan, Mr. Martin enjoyed the racetrack at Delaware Park and shooting pool at Frames and Oak Grove Senior Centers. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret H. Martin.
He is survived by a great niece, Jayne Logue of Landenberg, PA; and 2 great nephews, James Houck of Wilmington and Gerald Houck of Landenberg, PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 am at St. Matthew's Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Woodcrest. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be at St. James Episcopal Cemetery in Newport.

Stanley Macielag
Stanley P. Macielag "Buddy" Age 58 of Dagsboro, DE, formerly a longtime resident of Claymont passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2001 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Macielag retired from the City of Wilmington Fire Department after 23 years of dedicated service. He also owned and operated the family business, Ace Printing Company, formerly of Newport and Claymont, DE. Buddy was a lifetime member of Claymont Fire Company where he served 2 terms as fire chief. After retiring he trained for his CDL license for truck driving. Mr. Macielag was a member of Parish of St. Ann of Bethany Beach, DE and a former member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus, Christopher Council in Claymont, DE.
Mr. Macielag served his county from 1964-1970 in the Delaware National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post 24 in Dagsboro, DE.
He was predeceased by his father, Stanley T. Macielag and brother, Francis Macielag.
Mr. Macielag is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Mary Anne; 4 children, Christopher S. Macielag of Newport, DE, Jennifer A. Macielag of Newark, DE, Jillian M. Macielag of Claymont, DE and Paul F. Macielag at home and also by 1 grandson, Christopher R. Macielag. He is also survived by his mother, Pauline Macielag and a brother, Thomas S. Macielag and his companion, Gerry Turnbull and 2 sisters-in-law, Patricia Phipps and her husband Patrick and Lucille Lundberg and her companion, Robert Wolford and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hughes was the owner and operator of James J. Hughes & Company, a painting and wall covering company. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and an honorary member of the Hockessin Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Jeff Richardson; daughter, Dorothy; sons, James, Jr., Jerome, John, Thomas and Lawrence; sisters, Dorothy Hughes, Mary Carle, Regina Moore, and Sister Ann Hughes, SSJ; and brothers, Thomas and Jerome.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd, where friends may call after 10:30 am. Interment will be held in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Ashland.

Thomas Lanahan
Thomas L. Lanahan Age 51 died October 26, 2001 at the Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Lanahan was a former resident of Bethel Twp., PA and a current resident of Wilmington, DE.
Mr. Lanahan was a graduate of Salesianum High School in Wilmington, DE and Neuman College in Aston, PA. He was employed by the Philadelphia Navy Base as an editor for their monthly magazine, the "Mid Atlantic Monthly".
His parents, Arthur F. and Helen Maksimowicz Lanahan of Bethel Twp., PA; brothers, James M. Lanahan of Wilmington, DE, Garry A. Lanahan of Bethel Twp., PA; very special friends, Linda and Mark Di-Sabatino; and niece and nephews, Molly, Steven, Kyle and Jeff survive.
A funeral mass will be offered 10:30 am Thursday, November 1 at the St. Cornelius Church, 110 Ridge Rd., Chadds Ford, PA, where friends may call after 9 am. Burial will be in the St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery in Chester Heights, PA.

Paul Winkler
Paul F. Winkler Age 61 of Ellsworth, ME passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2001, while scuba diving at Lamoine Beach in Maine.
Mr. Winkler was a science teacher for the past 15 years at Pemetic Elementary School in Southwest Harbor, Maine. He grew up in Wilmington, graduated from Salesianum High School, and received a degree in biology from the University of Delaware.
After receiving his Ph.D. in zoology from the University of Arizona, he worked as an ichthyologist at the Lummi Island School of Aquaculture in Washington State. He later became a professor of marine biology at the University of the Virgin Islands in St. Thomas. He was also part of a research team that spent two weeks in an NOAA underwater habitat in St. Croix.
Paul Winkler was a dive master and had spent thousands of hours underwater. He was also an accomplished musician and played the banjo. He loved theater arts and was drama coach at Pemetic Elementary School. He loved teaching and was very committed to his students.
He is survived by his wife and life partner of 24 years, Irene Szurley; two children, Andrew Riser of Temecula, CA and Christopher Riser of Cape Girardeau, MO; his parents Henry and Sara Winkler of Wilmington; his brothers Henry, Jr., of Lewes and Edwin of Paradise Valley, AZ; his sisters Maryellen Winkler of Newark and Margaret Castorani of Hockessin; many nieces and nephews, and 4 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, November 17, 2001, at the Ellsworth Congregational Church, Ellsworth, ME.
Memorial donations may be made to the Pemetic School of Drama Fund, Pemetic Elementary School, Southwest Harbor, ME 04679.

Edward Boeck
Edward W. Boeck At the age of 88, Ed, originally from Wilmington, DE, died peacefully on Monday, November 12th, 2001 at 6:05 pm at the nursing residence-Church Road Nursing Home in Broomall, PA. He died peacefully with his family in attendance.
Ed is survived by his daughters, Claire and Mary and his son, Edward, Jr. Ed is also survived by her brother, William J. Boeck and several nieces and nephews.
The deceased served 20 years in the United States Navy and retired with an honorable discharge. While in the service, he served in World War II in the South Pacific on several encounters with the Navy and Army on several islands. Ed was a member of Salesianum High School, 1930. In his years prior to the service he played semi-professional baseball with the St. Anthony's Tonies. Ed enjoyed sports, especially football, baseball and golf. He was an avid fan of The Philadelphia Eagles and a respected golfer in the Haverford and Drexel Hill Community.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 1st. The memorial service will be held at St. Dorothy's Roman Catholic Church in Haverford, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations sent to The Oblates of St. Francis DeSales Development Fund, 1801 Broom St., Wilmington, DE 19802.

Paul McGonigle
Paul McGonigle Age 55 of Wilmington and Wildwood, NJ died at Johns Hopkins Hospital on Sunday, November 18, 2001.
Mr. McGonigle was a certified forensic counselor and worked 19 years for the Office of the Public Defender. Son of Paul and Florence (Lemmon) McGonigle, he was born in Wilmington. He attended grade school at St. Paul's, was a 1965 graduate of Salesianum School, and attended many colleges including Widener University and Old St. Mary's College in KY, earning his Master's degree. He was a member of the National Association of Sentencing Advocates.
He was predeceased by his mother on November 3rd this year; his father in 1999; and his brother, Michael Joseph McGonigle. He is survived by 6 brothers, Thomas, Sr., James and George, all of Wilmington, John and Robert, both of Bear, David of Elsmere; and 2 sisters, Maryanne Lester of Newark and Jane Hottes of Millsboro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 am Friday, November 20 at St. Paul's Church, 1010 W. 4th St., Wilmington, DE 19805, with interment in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Paul's.

Joseph Marsilii
Joseph A. Marsilii Age 67 of Wilmington and North Bethany, DE, died Wednesday, November 21, 2001 at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE after a short illness.
Joe was born in Wilmington April 8, 1934 to the late Tobia and Mary Marsilii. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 31 years of service. He was a member of VFW Post #7234 and American Legion Post #5.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Regina "Pappa" Marsilii; 1 sister, Mary Ann Isaac of Easton, PA; 2 sons, Joseph A. Jr. of Falls Church, VA and Paul of Middletown, DE; and 3 daughters, Jeanmarie Beiriger of Chester Springs, PA, Eileen Marsilii and Diana Rizzo, both of Wilmington. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Rebecca and Kathryn Marsilii, Anthony Jesson, Christa and Jenna Beiriger, Melissa Woodard and Megan, Christina, Caitlin and Mary Elena Marsilii.
Friends may call from 7-9 pm Monday, November 26 at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Tuesday, November 27 at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Rd., Wilmington. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

Howard Hillis
Howard F. Hillis Age 57 of Wilmington, DE, died suddenly of a heart attack on Wednesday, November 21, 2001 in Philadelphia, PA.
He was at the First Union Center to attend a Philadelphia 76'rs game.
Born in Wilmington September 29, 1944, he was a graduate of Salesianum School and LaSalle University.
He enlisted in the United States Army, graduated from Officer Candidate School and served in Okinawa during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School and a member of the Delaware Bar, he was a trial lawyer.
He practiced law with the Office of the Public Defender, the State Department of Justice and as a sole practitioner. He was a life member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He was regarded by his peers as an outstanding trial advocate.
He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Virginia and his beloved daughter, Stacee.
He is survived by his sisters and brother, Mary Ann Hillis, Edmund Hillis, and Johanna Lee Hillis with whom he resided.
There will be a memorial service 1 pm Wednesday, November 28 at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone & Milltown Rds., Wilmington, where friends may call after 12 noon. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends contributions to Ministry of Caring, 506 N. Church St., Wilmington, DE 19801, where he was a volunteer.

Louis Magee
Louis H. Magee Age 97, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 29, 2001 in Carlisle, PA.
Mr. Magee was a watch repairman for Kleitz Jewelers prior to working for the DuPont Company as a millwright. After retiring from DuPont in 1969, he worked for Stoops and Wilson Jewelers. He was a member of the First Alliance Church for over 60 years.
Mr. Magee was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Wilkinson Magee in 1980 and also his daughter, Marie McCabe. He is survived by his son, John L. Magee of Middletown, DE; his daughter, Lois Casson of Trappe, MD; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday, December 4 at the MCCRERY FUNERAL HOME, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, where friends may call after 10 am. Burial will be in the Lombardy Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the First Alliance Church, 2145 Graves Rd., Hockessin, DE 19707.
