RICHARD P. BARKER, 48, of Pompton Lakes, formerly of Oakland, died Thursday. He had been a research technician for Boston Scientific Meadox, Wayne, where he worked for 23 years. Arrangements: Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale.

JOSEPH A. BENIGNO, 76, of Washington Township died Friday. Before retiring last year, he was a builder and developer for Billmar Realty, Union. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of Villanova (Pa.) University. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, both in Washington Township. Arrangements: Becker Funeral Home, Westwood.

NADA BERNSTEIN, 66, of Franklin Lakes died Friday. Before retiring, she was a middle school teacher for the New York City school system. She was a member of Temple Beth Rishon, Wyckoff. Arrangements: Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel, Paramus.

HELEN I. BROWN, 90, of Englewood died Friday. Before retiring in 1988, she was a self-employed child care provider for 40 years. Arrangements: Nesbitt Funeral Home, Englewood.

ALAN D. BURROWS, 71, of Clifton died Thursday. He had been a security guard for International Paper Corp. in Clifton. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 203, Clifton, the Valley of Northern New Jersey Scottish Rite, Lincoln Park, and Salaam Shrine Temple, Livingston. Arrangements: Allwood Funeral Home, Clifton.

JAMES CANNELLA SR., 88, of Wallington died Wednesday. Before retiring in 1969, he was a truck driver for Service Transportation, Secaucus, where he worked for 25 years. Arrangements: Kamienski Funeral Home, Wallington.

CHARLES W. CHRISTIE JR. of Ridgewood died Friday. He had been a self-employed real estate appraiser. Arrangements: Vander Plaat Funeral Home, Wyckoff.

ELMER S. CHRISTOPHER, 85, of Ridgewood died Friday. Before retiring in 1980, he was a truck driver for Young and Bortice Fuel Oil Co., where he worked for 30 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 281, Fair Lawn. Arrangements: Olthuis Funeral Home, Midland Park.

DEAN A. CURTISS, 68, of Franklin Lakes died Monday. He had worked for Bendix-AlliedSignal Corp., Teterboro, for 30 years. He was a Navy veteran. Arrangements: Vander Plaat Funeral Home, Wyckoff.

WILLIAM DEGNEN, 69, of Demarest died Friday. Before retiring, he was a carpenter and a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local 15, Hackensack. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Arrangements: Barrett Funeral Home, Tenafly

PHILIP O. ETTINGER, 66, of Leonia died Tuesday. Before retiring, he was a cardiologist. He was an Air Force veteran. Arrangements: Wien & Wien, Englewood.

MARY MNAHONCK FEDOROCHKO, 82, of Clifton died Saturday. She was born in Czechoslovakia. She was a member of Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Christian Church, Clifton. Arrangements: Shook Funeral Home, Clifton.

ROSE F. FABRICATORE FITZGERALD, 82, of Glen Rock, formerly of Bloomfield, died Friday. She was born in Italy. Before retiring in 1980, she was a medical secretary for Dr. Christine Haycock in Newark, where she worked for 12 years. She was a Navy veteran of World War II. She was a parishioner of St. Catharine R.C. Church, Glen Rock. She was past president of the PTA at the Carteret School, Bloomfield, and had been a volunteer at the Kurth Cottage at The Valley Hospital, Ridgewood. Arrangements: Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Fair Lawn.

EVELYN M. GREENHALGH, 89, of Ridgefield died Friday. She was a graduate of Lesley College, Cambridge, Mass. She was a parishioner of St. Matthew R.C. Church, Ridgefield. Arrangements: Blackley Funeral Home, Ridgefield.

ERNEST E. GREINER, 80, of Carolina Shores, N.C., formerly of Pompton Lakes, died Tuesday. Before retiring, he worked in sales for John N. Fehlinger Co., New York City, Leslie Co., Parsippany, and Mason-Neilan Co. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama. Arrangements: Cape Fear Crematory, Fayetteville, N.C.

GERALDINE N. HIGGINS-O'CONNELL, 69, of Chestnut Ridge, N.Y., died Friday. She had been a credit analyst for BMW Corp., Woodcliff Lake. She also had been an assistant to former Sen. James Buckley of New York. Arrangements: Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, Pearl River.

HARRY G. KNIGHT, 86, of Harrington Park died Tuesday. Before retiring, he was a broker for Travelers Insurance Co., New York City. Arrangements: Moritz Funeral Home, Closter.

MARY DeLORENZO LaNEVE, 86, of Paterson died Friday. She had been a secretary for LaNeve Oil Co., Paterson, for 40 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. Church, Paterson. Arrangements: DeLuccia-Lozito Funeral Home, Haledon.

SEYMOUR MAIZEL, 79, of Teaneck died Friday. Before retiring, he owned Krash Advertising, New York City. Subsequently, he was a travel agent for AAA. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Arrangements: Wien & Wien, Hackensack.

JOSEPH H. MARASCO, 75, of Westwood, formerly of Montvale, died Saturday. He had been a vice president of Northstar Bank, New York City, where he worked for 40 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Federation of Musicians Local 809. Arrangements: Becker Funeral Home, Westwood.

ANGELINA PASTORE MAZZETTI, 83, of Lyndhurst died Saturday. Arrangements: Nazare Memorial Home, Lyndhurst.

GRACE THOMAS McCLOSKEY, 75, of Cliffside Park, formerly of Edgewater, died Saturday. Before retiring in 1991, she was a bartender for Barge Inn, Edgewater, where she worked for 10 years. Arrangements: McCorry Bros. Funeral Home, Cliffside Park.

LOIS G. MONAHAN, 91, of the Holiday City section of Toms River, formerly of North Haledon, died Thursday. Before retiring, she was a registered nurse at Beth Israel Hospital, Passaic. She also had been a school nurse in North Haledon. She was a graduate of Jersey City State College. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church, Wayne. Arrangements: Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne.

MARTIN P. O'SULLIVAN, 79, of Maywood died Saturday. Before retiring, he owned Advance Fence Co., Maywood. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7408, Maywood. Arrangements: Trinka-Faustini Funeral Home, Maywood.

ELINOR W. OWENS, 55, of Manchester, formerly of North Bergen, died Thursday. Before retiring in 1997, she was an art teacher at North Bergen High School. She was a graduate of Montclair State University, with master's degrees in elementary education and fine arts. Arrangements: Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, Manchester.

BENJAMIN PETERSON, 93, of Elmwood Park died Wednesday. He had been a hearse driver for the Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home, Elmwood Park. Previously, he was an inspector for Samuel Hird Woolen Mills, Garfield. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Elmwood Park, and had been superintendent of its Sunday school. Arrangements: Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home, Elmwood Park.

LILLIAN METZNER PHILLIPS, 76, of Ringwood died Friday. She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Wayne, and its Angel Circle Quilters group. She was a member of the New Jersey Order of the Eastern Star and the Girl Scouts of America. Arrangements: D'Agostino Funeral Home, Wanaque.

NICHOLAS F. PICCIALLO SR., 92, of Barnegat, formerly of Hackensack, died Thursday. Before retiring in 1972, he was a salesman for Crown Liquors, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He was a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, Hackensack, and St. Mary R.C. Church, Barnegat. Arrangements: G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, Hackensack.

HELEN RABKIN, 81, of River Edge died Friday. She was a member of Temple Emanuel of the Pascack Valley, Woodcliff Lake, the Women's American Organization for Rehabilitation Through Training, and Hadassah. Arrangements: Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel, Paramus.

ALPHONSE "FRED" SABATO, 86, of Palisades Park died Saturday. Before retiring, he was a textile salesman for Robinson-Anton, where he worked for 50 years. Arrangements: A.K. Macagna Funeral Home, Cliffside Park.

ANNA E. GARTNER SAKS, 88, of Clifton died Saturday. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Passaic. Arrangements: Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.

KATHRYN McCARTHY SHENIER of Englewood died Thursday. Before retiring in 1947, she was a teacher at School 6, Cliffside Park, where she worked for 15 years. She was a member of the Englewood Woman's Club. Arrangements: McCorry Bros. Funeral Home, Cliffside Park.

JACQUELINE STOPSKY, 68, of Dumont died Friday. She had been assistant to the executive director of a trade association. She had been president of the Dumont Good Neighbor Fund, a volunteer with the American Cancer Society, and a member of the Relay for Life cancer research group. Arrangements: Wien & Wien, Hackensack.

MARIE WALTER, 83, of Hasbrouck Heights, formerly of Weehawken, died Wednesday. Before retiring in 1985, she was a bookkeeper for Mallinckrodt Inc., Englewood, where she worked for 25 years. Arrangements: Hennessy-Powell Funeral Home, Hasbrouck Heights.

LOUIS WEINER, 84, of Pompton Plains, formerly of Fair Lawn, died Friday. Before retiring, he was a chemist for Frisch and Co., Paterson. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Glen Rock Jewish Center, the Glen Rock Pops Orchestra, and the New York Society of Coatings Technology. Arrangements: Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel, Paramus.

ROBERT "BRONCO" WEISZ, 57, of Ridgefield died Friday. He was a greenskeeper for the Bergen County Parks Department at Overpeck Park Golf Course. Arrangements: Blackley Funeral Home, Ridgefield.

PATRICIA E. WARD WHITE, 79, of Lincoln Park died Thursday. She was born in England. Before retiring in 1978, she was a librarian for the Akron, Ohio, Public Library. Arrangements: Trinka-Faustini Funeral Home, Maywood.

JOHN A. ZOLDOS, 76, of Forked River, formerly of Hackensack and Ho-Ho-Kus, died Wednesday. Before retiring in 1996, he owned John Zoldos Professional Engineering Co., Ho-Ho-Kus, for 45 years. He had also been a professor for the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. Arrangements: Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, Toms River.
