CASTA CABRERA ALVAREZ, 83, of Lyndhurst died Sunday. She was born in Cuba. Before retiring in 1985, she worked for the Mandee shop in Clifton for 10 years. Arrangements: Nazare Memorial Home, Lyndhurst.

JOAN V. DELANEY BARHORST, 70, of Clifton died Sunday. Before retiring in 1995, she was a teacher's aide at St. Philip the Apostle School, Clifton. She was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, Clifton. She was a member of the Wayne Fire Department Auxiliary. Arrangements: Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.

MARY M. DIGNAN COOGAN, 81, of Wallington died Saturday. Before retiring in 1993, she was a clerk for the Bergen County Housing Authority in Hackensack, where she worked for 15 years. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church, East Rutherford, and a member of its Secular Franciscans. She was a member and past president of Columbiettes Council 3644 of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church. Arrangements: Wozniak Home for Funerals, Wallington.

SHARON M. O'CONNOR DAVIES, 52, of Tenafly died Saturday. She was a registered nurse and had worked for the New York State Psychiatric Institute, New York City, for 26 years. She was a graduate of Georgetown University. She was a member of Knickerbocker Country Club, Tenafly. Arrangements: Barrett Funeral Home, Tenafly.

DOMINICK DeBENEDETTO, 81, of Fort Lee died Friday. Before retiring in 1978, he was a truck driver for Howell Trucking, Secaucus, where he worked for 30 years and was a member of Teamsters Local 617, Jersey City. Arrangements: Frank A. Patti & Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, Fort Lee.

PETER J. DEL VECCHIO, 77, of Washington Township died Friday. Before retiring, he was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Westwood. Previously, he was a manager in the wholesale pharmaceutical industry for 40 years, working for Ketchum Co. and Kaltman Co. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a former parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, Hackensack. Arrangements: G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, Hackensack.

FRANCES CIOCE FILARDI, 84, of Whiting, formerly of Oakland, died Saturday. Before retiring, she was a sewing machine operator for Varges Co., Guttenberg. She was a former parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, Hackensack. Arrangements: G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, Hackensack.

MARY R. BARRECCHIA FITZMAURICE, 97, of Vineland, formerly of Paterson, died Saturday. Before retiring, she was a legal secretary for the D'Eo law firm in Paterson. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony R.C. Church, Paterson. She was a member of AARP. Arrangements: Minchin Funeral Home, Paterson.

STELLA KOBYLARZ GALKA, 93, of Wallington died Saturday. Before retiring in 1991, she was a seamstress for Hoffman Co., Garfield, where she worked for 30 years. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Passaic. Arrangements: Kamienski Funeral Home, Wallington.

JAMES J. GALLAGHER JR., 70, of Westwood died Friday. Before retiring in 1997, he was a pressman for the New York Daily News, where he worked for 46 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Bergen County Model Railroad Club. Arrangements: Becker Funeral Home, Westwood.

ALFRED GIOVINE, 82, of Teaneck and Deltona, Fla., died Saturday. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Arrangements: Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Middletown, N.Y.

PETER KASPERAN, 81, of Carlstadt died Sunday. Before retiring in 1985, he was a handyman for St. Barnabas Hospital, Livingston, where he worked for 30 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Arrangements: Kimak Funeral Home, Carlstadt.

ELIZABETH M. SALLER KORTVELLESSY, 86, of Clifton died Saturday. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Passaic, and a member of its Golden Age Club and Women's Society. She was a member of the Botany Village Seniors. Arrangements: Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.

ELIZABETH LARGHI, 95, of Fort Lee died Sunday. She was born in Italy. She was a member of the Rosary Society of Madonna R.C. Church, Fort Lee. Arrangements: Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, Fort Lee.

BARBARA J. ZABRISKIE LEYDENS, 70, of Franklin Lakes, formerly of North Haledon, died Saturday. She was former manager of Lynn's Dress Shop, Paterson. She was a benefactor of the Children's Park of North Haledon. Arrangements: Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, Franklin Lakes.

BART LICCIARDO, 64, of Point Pleasant, formerly of Passaic, died Saturday. Arrangements: Intelisano-Scarpa Funeral Home, Clifton.

FRANCES KISZKA MANZO, 88, of Wood-Ridge, formerly of Jersey City, died Sunday. Arrangements: Costa Memorial Home, Hasbrouck Heights.

BARBARA M. MEEHAN, 76, of Harpersfield, N.Y., formerly of Teaneck, died Friday. She was a nurse's aide and had worked for Holy Name Hospital, Teaneck. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Stamford, N.Y., and a former parishioner of St. Anastasia R.C. Church, Teaneck. Arrangements: Hall Funeral Home, Stamford.

MARILYN J. BUDD MURPHY, 75, of Carlstadt died Sunday. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church, East Rutherford, and a member and past president of its Rosary Altar Society and former member of its Mothers Club. She was a member of the Carlstadt Senior Friendship Club. Arrangements: Kimak Funeral Home, Carlstadt.

ALBERT PASQUALE, 84, of Hackensack died Saturday. Before retiring in 1980, he was a shipping manager for Hackensack Specialty, where he worked for 30 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Teaneck. Arrangements: Trinka-Faustini Funeral Home, Maywood.

THERESA PILUK, 88, of Paterson died Thursday. Before retiring in 1984, she was an inspector for Garfield Manufacturing Co., Wallington, and previously worked for Forstmann Woolen Mills. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church, Paterson. Arrangements: Allwood Funeral Home, Clifton.

SANTA AMARI RUGGIERO, 91, of Paterson, formerly of Clifton, died Saturday. She was born in Italy and came to the United States in 1923. Before retiring 30 years ago, she was a seamstress for Metro Mills, Paterson. She was a parishioner of St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson. Arrangements: Scillieri Funeral Home, Paterson.

DANIEL RYAN, 67, of Passaic died Saturday. Before retiring in 1990, he was director of special education for the Passaic Board of Education, where he had previously been a teacher, guidance counselor, and vice principal. He was an Army veteran. He was a graduate of Seton Hall University, South Orange, with a master's degree in education. He had served as a councilman in the 4th Ward, was a member of the Housing Authority, and served on the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club, all in Passaic. He also was a member of the Men's Club of Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Passaic, the Seton Hall Basketball Boosters Club, and the Mohawk Club. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Passaic. Arrangements: J.C. Fila Lexington Memorial Home, Clifton.

LUCY L. SAPANARA, 91, of Emerson died Saturday. Arrangements: Becker Funeral Home, Westwood.

ADELAIDE M. SCHELLHAMMER, 82, of Clifton died Saturday. She was a member of the Happy Time Seniors, Clifton. Arrangements: Allwood Funeral Home, Clifton.

ARTHUR VAN DEN BERG, 88, of New Milford died Saturday. Before retiring, he was a photoengraver. He was a charter member of the New Milford Presbyterian Church, and a member of its choir. ELENI PAPANDREOU YFANTIS, 44, of North Bergen died Sunday. She was born in Greece. Arrangements: Vainieri Funeral Home, North Bergen.
