Allene Lance
Allene M. Lance, 79, of Prescott, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix.
She was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Grafton, Ohio, to Edward and Viola (Pfeiffer) Werner.
Mrs. Lance moved to Prescott in 1961 from Elyria, Ohio. She was an original member and past president of The Monday Club, and was a member of Phi Sigma Alpha Sorority.
She was crowned Prescott's first Grandmother of the Year in 1971. She retired from the Prescott Library where she edited the library newsletter, repaired book bindings by hand and taught workshops on bookbinding.
She was a Girl Scout leader, and enjoyed reading, crafts, music, traveling and helping others.
She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Cheney of Elyria, Ohio, Gloria Ogden of Cota de Caza, Calif., and Janet Cosgrove of Lake Forest, Calif.; son, David Lance of Prescott; sisters, Norma Kraps of Grafton, Ohio, and Leah Grieve of Elyria, Ohio; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In her memory and honor, a gathering of friends and family will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at The Monday Club, 1306 Stetson Road. Cremation was private.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of one's choice.
The National Cremation Society helped the family with arrangements.

Arthur Bunger
Arthur L. Bunger, 78, of Dewey, former city manager of Prescott and Tempe, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, in Glendale.
He was born April 23, 1921, in Holbrook, to Orville and Kitty (Turner) Bunger.
Mr. Bunger graduated from Tempe High School in 1941, and attended Arizona State Teachers College on a football scholarship. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He married Martha Francis Dumas on Aug. 3, 1943.
Mr. Bunger served as city manager of Tempe before moving to Prescott in 1961. After retiring from city government in 1967, following service as city manager, he spent most of the next 30 years as a land developer and general contractor at Stoneman Lake.
Aside from his faith and his family, Stoneman Lake was the love of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha, of Dewey; sons, Tom of Mesa, Bill of Tempe, John of Boise, Idaho, Chuck of Houston, Texas, and Rick of Glendale; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the gym at Abia Judd Elementary School, 1749 Williamson Valley Road.
Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Gardens in Dewey.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Yavapai Regional Medical Center Hospice, P.O. Box 26565, Prescott Valley, AZ 86312, or Sun Health Hospice in Glendale.

John Clatt
John F. Clatt, 84, of Prescott Valley, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 28, 1915, in Roadhouse, Ill., to John Fred Sr. and Mary (Davis) Clatt.
Mr. Clatt married Mildred DeFrates on Dec. 3, 1938. He worked with his brother-in-law at Elm City Produce Co. for several years. He moved to Glendale, Calif., in 1942, where he worked for Lockheed Aircraft until the end of World War II.
Mr. Clatt then worked for the Automobile Club of Southern California until he opened his own insurance agency in Glendale, Calif. He sold his business and moved to Prescott in 1967.
He served as chief of the Groom Creek volunteer fire company in 1972, and remained as a volunteer until 1977.
Mr. Clatt is survived by his wife, Mildred.
There will be no local services. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, Calif.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Heritage Park Zoo, 1403 Heritage Park Road, Prescott, AZ 86301; Church of Christ, 8415 E. Manley Drive, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314; or the Yavapai Humane Society, P.O. Box 12, Prescott, AZ 86302.

Clarence Wills
Clarence F. Wills, 72, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, at his home in Spring Valley.
He was born July 16, 1927, in Minford, Ohio, to Hayes and Mary (Obryan) Wills.
Mr. Wills is survived by his wife, Jane; sons, Ron and Ted; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Sunwest Funeral Home and Cemetery in El Mirage.

Priscilla Souler
Priscilla J. Souler, 82, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Souler was born Sept. 2, 1917, in Los Angeles, Calif., to William and Mary (Anderson) Jepson.
She graduated in 1940 from the University of California at Los Angeles with a bachelor of arts degree in art education. She moved to Prescott from Connecticut in 1990.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Benjamin; daughters, Mary E. Hardwich of Richmond, Va., and Priscilla A. Henry of Philadelphia, Pa.; sister, Virginia Mayer of Glendora, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Prescott Heights Baptist Church, 700 Rosser St., with the Rev. H. Lee Wiggins officiating.
The family suggests contributions in her memory to the church.

Evelyn Hodges
Evelyn McInnis Hodges, 74, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, at her home in Chino Valley.
She was born Nov. 7, 1924, in Shreveport, La., to George and Katherine (Langford) Simmerman.
Mrs. Hodges moved to Arizona in 1994 from Shreveport. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a true friend.
She is survived by her husband, William; daughter, Phyllis Pias of Kenosha, Wis.; son, Clay Wolking of Greeley, Colo.; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Wolking.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chino Valley, with Bishop Chris Sexton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, also at the church.

Bryant Keihle
Bryant W. "Wally" Keihle, 68, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, in Dewey.
He was born Jan. 4, 1931, in Kanopolis, Kan., to Bryant William and Eva (Porter) Keihle.
Mr. Keihle married Gloria Joann Meeder June 20, 1950. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees at the College of Com-merce in Long Beach, Calif. Walt Disney personally hired him to work in the accounting department at Disney Productions, where he spent his entire career.
He retired in 1993 as the accountant in charge of corporate accounting, and moved with his wife to the Prescott Country Club.
Mr. Keihle was also active in Freemasonry. He was a member and past master of the North Hollywood Lodge in California, a member of the Scottish Rite, the Old West Shrine Club of the San Fernando Valley and the North Hollywood chapter of Eastern Star.
He loved golf and softball. His activities also included membership and treasurer of the Mickey Mouse Golf Club, the Men's Club at the Prescott Country Club and the Prescott Senior Softball Team for which he was catcher.
He was proudest of his family and their accomplishments.
Survivors include his wife, Joann of the Prescott Country Club; daughter, Stephanie Viola of Northridge, Calif.; son, Bryant of Ohio; brother, Norman of Tennessee; sister, Virginia Sharpski of Albuquerque, N.M.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel, corner of Valley and Navajo roads in Prescott Valley. Burial will follow at Redwood Memorial Gardens in Dewey.

Evan Sage
Evan Webster Sage, 42, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at his home in Prescott.
He was born June 27, 1957, in Phoenix. to Dr. and Mrs. Webster L. Sage Jr.
Mr. Sage graduated from Northern Arizona University and was a member of the Mount Vernon Church of Christ in Prescott. He moved to Prescott five years ago and worked for Sharlot Hall Museum as an archivist.
Survivors include his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Webster L. Sage Jr., of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; and brother, Bryan of San Diego.
Services were this morning at the Mount Vernon Church of Christ.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Mount Vernon Church of Christ, 120 N. Mount Vernon, Prescott, AZ 86301.
