Mr. Murray, a manager in the Air Force, born in Miles City, Montana, is survived by his wife Myrt, daughter Linda May Rush, sons Larry J. and Mark G., sister Ethel Woldstad and 3 grandchildren. Apache Junction Mortuary handled all arrangements.

Olive E. Pearson
Olive E. Pearson, 87, of Tempe, passed away Monday, April 23, 2001. Mrs. Pearson, a homemaker, was born in Argile, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to AZ Alzheimers Association, 1028 E. McDowell, Phoenix, AZ 85006. Resthaven Park Cemetery handled all arrangements.

Harry L. Sorensen
Harry L. Sorensen, 80, of Apache Junction, passed away Monday, April 23, 2001. Mr. Sorensen, a Lt. Colonel in the Army during WWII and Korea, was born in Luddington, Michigan and is survived by his wife Edythe, daughter Edythe McCallister, son Harry Jr., 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Apache Junction Mortuary handled all arrangements.

Gene Totten
Mr. Gene Totten, 73, of Mesa, passed away Friday, April 20, 2001. Mr. Totten, a Retired Civil Service Worker with the Bureau of Reclamation at Davis Dam and a wounded Veteran of WWII at Iwo Jima, was born in Petersburg, Nebraska, and is survived by his wife Suzanne, daughter Pamela McClure, son Douglas, sister Phyllis Burke and 3 grandchildren. Mountain View Memorial Gardens Mortuary handled all arrangements.

Loretta Rita Watkins
Loretta Rita Watkins, 72, of Apache Junction, passed away, Tuesday, April 24, 2001. Mrs. Watkins, a secretary born in Hamtramck, Michigan, is survived by her husband Charles, daughters Mary Beth Jones and Kay, sons Paul and Charles, sister Mary Ann Burech, brother Raymond Tobola and 5 grandchildren. Memorials are asked to be sent to the American Cancer Society, 2929 E. Thomas Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85016. Apache Junction Mortuary handled all arrangements.

Maurice A. Naeve
Maurice A. Naeve, 84, of Apache Junction, passed away Monday, May 14, 2001. Mr. Naeve, a mechanic and a veteran of WWII in the US Navy, was born in Ouray, Colorado, is survived by his daughter Billie J. Naeve, son Jerry M. Naeve and one grandchild. Apache Junction Mortuary handled all arrangements.

Robert S. "Bob" Milbrat
Robert S. Milbrat, 68, of Apache Junction, passed away on Monday, May 14. Mr. Milbrat was originally from Anaheim, Calif. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he retired from the Weyerhauser Corporation in 1985.
Mr. Milbrat served as a member of the Apache Junction Fire District Board of Directors from 1991 to 1994.
Mr. Milbrat is survived by his wife, Alice, and four adult children. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the AJ Fire District through the Bob Milbrat Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank, account #2002168581.

Eugene L. Fetters
Eugene L. Fetters, 60, of Apache Junction, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2001. Mr. Fetters, an expeditor born in Seattle, WA, is survived by his wife Inez, daughter Laureen Barthleme, son Eugene Fetters and one grandchild. Apache Junction Mortuary handled all arrangements.

Delphies M. Kight
Delphies M. Kight, 85, of Mesa, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2001. Mr. Kight, a mechanic and an Army WWII Veteran, born in Castle Rock, WA, is survived by his wife Ruthivon, daughters Deanna Lewis-Tilbury and Karen Radcliff, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Apache Junction Mortuary handled all arrangements.

Thelma Kruel
Thelma Kruel, 84, of Apache Junction, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2001. Mrs. Kruel, a homemaker born in Kansas City, Missouri is survived by her daughter Patricia L. Kelly, son Kenneth R. Kruel, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Apache Junction Mortuary handled all arrangements.

Col. James E. Kohler
Col. James E. Kohler, born May 15, 1921, passed away June 8, 2001. He was born in Ohio and raised in Colorado until he went to live with his grandparents in Nebraska. At age 19, he entered the Army Air Corp. and flew 50 missions over 10 European Countries. He married Velma Weed (Martineau) and was married 51 1/2 years at the time of her passing in May of 1994. His son, Bradford Kohler, also passed away in November of 1994.
He is survived by the following: Charles Martineau and Ruth, Marlene Hueveldt and John, Kandis Ladd and Richard, Gayal Kohler, widow of Brad, sister Betty Brown, brother Ed Kohler, AuntVelma Hepler of CO, 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, all of New York. He is also survived by his very special friend, Irene Zihlke.
Col. Kohler spent 35 years in the military and was a life member of the VFW #9399, Amvets Post #89, member of the American Legion #97 of Florence, and a member of the Moose and Eagles of Apache Junction. Memorials may be sent to the Banner Hospice.

Mr. Albert E. Eastman
Mr. Albert E. Eastman, 82, of Apache Junction, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2001. Mr. Eastman, a retired paratrooper from the U.S. Army, was born in Hood River, Oregon. Mountain View Memorial Gardens Mortuary handled all arrangements.

Makayla Hope Mauk
Makayla Hope Mauk, infant daughter of Justin Mauk and Tracy Leatherman, of Apache Junction, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2001. She is survived by her parents, Justin Mauk and Tracy Leatherman of Apache Junction, sisters Aleesya Lee Mauk and Sadie Ann Mauk of Apache Junction, maternal grandfather Boyd Leatherman of Apache Junction and paternal grandparents, Al and Robin Lopez of Apache Junction. Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery handled all arrangements.

Melvin D. Nelson
Melvin D. Nelson, 71, of Apache Junction, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2001. Mr. Nelson, an owner of Apache Junction Cleaners and a veteran of the U.S. Army, born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, is survived by his wife Darlene, daughters Julie Habana, Patricia Nelson and Jolene Linkowski, son Rande, and 6 grandchildren. James R. Graham, 85, of Apache Junction, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2001. Mr. Graham, an electrical engineer and an Army Air Force WWII Veteran, born in Clinton, Missouri, is survived by his wife Lydia, daughter Lauretta Graham, sister Mary E. Feil, brother William F. Graham, 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Apache Junction Mortuary handled all arrangements.

Janet E. Gross
Janet E. Gross, 75, of Gold Canyon, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2001. Mrs. Gross, a restaurant/bar owner, born in Rushford, Wisconsin, is survived by her daughters Sheryl A. Mannikko and Lori G. Duey, sons Terry A. and Kerry M. Lang and Daniel J. Gross, 14 nieces and 12 nephews, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Apache Junction Mortuary handled all arrangements.

Edgar N. Jackson
Edgar N. Jackson, 75, of Apache Junction, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2001. Mr. Jackson, a supervisor, veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, born in Chillicothe, Illinois, is survived by his wife Lois, daughters Vicky Wages and Chris Evans, sons Morton, Eddy and Rick, sisters Betty Pruitt, Mary Lathrop and JoAnne Cowling, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Ethel I. Sutliff, 80, of Fallbrook, CA, a resident of Apache Junction for 20 or more years, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2001. Mrs. Sutliff is survived by her daughter Judy Dafforn, son and daughter in law, Budd and Pat Sutliff, brothers Oscar, Mac and Kenneth Stockwell, sister in law Betty Stockwell, sister Leona Rumbaugh, 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
