Mr. Isidro Valdez Uribe, a resident of Porterville passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2004. He was 52 years old.
Mr. Uribe was a Farm Laborer for 30 years. He attended St. Anne's Church. He was a mechanic and enjoyed working on cars.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Gloria Uribe of Porterville, Calif.; his mother, Eusebia Uribe of Mexico; son, Daniel Uribe of Porterville, Calif.; daughter, Ruth Irizarry of Porterville, Calif.; foster-sons, Henry Farfan of Visalia, Calif., Anthony Farfan of Porterville, Calif., and Frank Hernandez of Visalia, Calif.; brothers, Manuel Uribe of Porterville, Calif., Alonso, Humberto and Domingo Uribe, all of Mexico; grandson, Isreal Irizarry; one niece, Angela Uribe of Porterville, Calif. and two nephews, Oswald Uribe of Los Angeles, Calif., and Manuel Uribe, Jr. of Kansas City, Mo.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel. A Rosary/Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 20, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Church. Interment to follow at Home of Peace Cemetery.

Sam McCutcheon
Sam A. McCutcheon, a resident of Clovis, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004. He was 82.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Boice Funeral Home in Clovis.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peters Cemetery in Fresno.
Mr. McCutcheon was employed as a forest service technician.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hinds Hospice Home Services, 1616 W. Shaw Ave. Ste. B-6, Fresno, CA. 93711.
Boice Funeral Home in Clovis is in charge of arrangements.

Joey Russell
Joey Russell, a resident of Porterville, died there Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004. He was 30.
A wake will be 6 p.m. Thursday at Myers Chapel in Porterville.
A service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Carlos Mestez of Agape Mission in Porterville, officiating.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville.
Mr. Russell was a native of Porterville, previously of Hawaii. He worked as a carpet layer for two years. He attended Agape Mission in Porterville, and was a boxing coach and trainer for the Tule River Indian Reservation Boxing Association.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Sanchez of Porterville; his step-father, Armando Sanchez of Porterville; his father, Keith Russell of Corcoran; his companion, Michelle Mamone of Porterville; one daughter, Alicia Mamone of Porterville; one son, Malachi Russell of Porterville; three brothers, Demetris Russell Jr. of Visalia, Keith Russell and Matthew Russell, both of Porterville; his grandparents, Joe Cruz and Evelina Cruz, both of Porterville; and his step-grandfather, Jose Sanchez of Porterville.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Russell and grandmother, Carmen Cruz.

John Gamble
John Cairl Gamble, a resident of Lindsay, died in Fresno Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004. He was 34.
A service will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Myers Chapel in Porterville with the Rev. Peter Schalembier of First Assembly of God in Porterville, officiating.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine.
Mr. Gamble was a native of Redondo Beach and a resident of Lindsay for 31 years. He was employed as a maintenance technician for 15 years. He attended Cornerstone Assembly in Fresno. He served in the U.S.Army and was a member of IBEW Local 100 in Fresno.
He is survived by his parents, Herbie Gamble and Fleta Gamble, both of Lindsay; two sons, Mathew Mason Gamble and Mason Morgan Gamble, both of Porterville; one sister, Ann Marie Mathis of San Francisco; and his grandmother, Betty Sue Capps of Lindsay.

Mamie Letsinger
Mamie Letsinger, a resident of Lindsay, died in Visalia Monday, Aug. 16, 2004. She was 78.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Webb-Sanders Funeral Home in Lindsay.
A service will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Webb-Sanders Funeral Home, with the Rev. James McMurtray, officiating.
Interment will be at the Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery in Lindsay.
Mrs. Letsinger was a native of Webber Falls, Okla. and a resident of Tulare County for 59 years. She was a homemaker and was formally employed as a farm worker. She was a volunteer at Jefferson Elementary School in Lindsay. She was also a member of Exeter Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two daughters, Fern Hunt of Lindsay and Vera Tribble of Fresno; one sister, Doris Burtram of Crescent City; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva Robert Letsinger in 1991; two sons, Joe Letsinger, Sr. and Wayne Letsinger; her daughter, Josephine Hake; and three grandchildren.
Webb-Sanders Funeral Home in Lindsay is in charge of arrangements.

Donn Robert Cobb, M.D., M.P.H.
January 9, 1936 to August 18, 2004
Donn Robert Cobb was born to Ellen Ruth Hart Cobb Howard of Farmersville and Robert Vern Cobb of Clovis, January 9, 1936 in Fresno, California. After Robert Vern (Vern) Cobb passed away in 1959. Donn's mother Ellen Ruth Hart Cobb married Guy Elgin Howard who was a father figure for 25 years. Donn was part of a rich long time Fresnan heritage dating back to 1868 when VanBuren Cobb with his wife Minerva Duckworth headed west from Indiana to settle the Millerton, California area. Donn's grandparents were Robert Edward Lee Cobb married to Nettie Elizabeth Clifford as well as Edwin Findley Hart married to Martha Ellen Frans. As a youth, Donn attended Bullard Grammer School in Fresno. Clovis Union High School in Clovis, and a B.A. from Fresno State College in 1957. Donn married his sweetheart Margaret Ruth Salzer on July 11, 1959 in Los Angeles. After graduating with an M.D. from California College of Medicine (Irvine) in 1962, Donn and Margie moved back to his home city of Fresno where their two sons, Joel Findley Cobb and Edward Lee Cobb were born. In 1978 Donn received his M.P.H. from the University of California, Berkley. Donn practiced private medicine from 1962 to 1966 then took employment as a staff physician from California State College, fresno with Student Health Services. 1972 through 1975 he was a staff physician for Valley Medical Center of Fresno. 1975 to 1991 he was a physician in various roles for the Fresno County Department of Health one of which was Public Health Officer and Associate Director. from 1991 through his passing August 18, 2004 at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital of Fresno, he oversaw the establishment and was a Staff Physician in the Department of Occupational Health Clinic for Kaiser Permanente of Fresno.

Donn is survived by his wife Margaret (Margie) Ruth Salzer Cobb, his sons Joel Findley Cobb and Edward Lee Cobb, Joel's wife Stephanie Lynn Clark Cobb, Joel's children Caitlyn Suzanne Cobb and Kyle Robert Cobb, Edward's wife Valerie Ann Dalton Cobb, Edward's children Avery Estelle Cobb and Anise Lauren Cobb, as well as his nephews Gregory Van Ness, Steven Van Ness, Donald (Don) Van Ness, and David Salzer.
He will be missed by friends, professional community, and church community, He is loved by his family very much and will be missed till they are together again.
Graveside will be at Clovis Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. at the corner of Herndon and Villa. A Memorial Service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004 at First Presbyterian Church, 1540 "M" Street, Fresno, (Stanislaus to "M" street) with reception to follow.

Richard "Doug" Taylor, Jr.
Richard "Doug" Taylor, Jr., of Tulare, died there August 22, 2004. He was 51.
He was born in Washington. He had a lot of family and friends as care providers. Previously he lived at the Hunt Home #1 for 12 years in Porterville and currently lived at the Zapien Home in Tulare. He loved to go fishing, gambling and eat out.
Survivors from the Hunt Home #1 are: Norma "Mimi" J. Hunt and the late Ray Hunt of Porterville; Chonda and Ruben Molina of Porterville; Kenneth and Sonya Moncibaiz of Porterville; April Thomasson of Porterville and who Doug considered his daughter; and clients of the Hunt Home #1.
From Zapien Home: Miguel and Inger Zapien of Tulare; Tina Brown of Strathmore; Monica and Bernardo Segura of Porterville; Corina Ramirez of Tulare; Lillian Koenig of Tulare; Joann Coelho of Tulare; Suzanne Dean of Visalia; and clients of the Zapien Home.
Visitation will be 12 noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004 at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel in Tulare, CA.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 27, 2004 at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel, 132 W. Kern Ave., Tulare, CA. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville, CA.

Jimmy Fulton
Jimmy Ray Fulton, a resident of Lindsay, died in Porterville Sunday Aug. 22, 2004. He was 62.
A service will be held at a later date.
Interment will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine.
Mr. Fulton was a native of Texas, and a resident of Lindsay for 60 years. He worked as a farm laborer, and served in the army.
He is survived by his sister, Joanne Wyckoff of Lindsay; and two brothers, Jerry Fulton of California, and Larry Fulton of Oregon.

Manuel Nevarez
Manuel J. Nevarez, a resident of Porterville, died there Tuesday Aug. 24, 2004. He was 21.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Myers Chapel in Porterville.
A service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, and another service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Myers Chapel in Porterville.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville.
Mr. Nevarez was a native of Los Angels. He worked as a laborer at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He is survived by his wife Mirella Nevarez of Porterville; his parents Jesus and Teresa Nevarez, both of Porterville; one brother, Josue Nevarez of Porterville, and his grandparents; Maria Duran Ayon and Eugenio Rivas of Mexico.

Edward Tanner
Edward Ross Tanner, a resident of Orland, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004 in Porterville. He was 67.
Private services are being held at a later date.
Mr. Tanner was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was an Army veteran and an electrician for 45 years. He enjoyed golfing and bowling.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jamie Tanner of Orland and Rene Clifford of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Steve Tanner of Queen Creek, Ariz.; one sister, Audrey Parks of Corning; four brothers, Jim Tanner of Porterville, and George, Don and Bill Tanner, all of Orland; and six grandchildren.
