Becky Lynn Gibson
Becky Lynn Gibson, age 24, of Pensacola, Fla., died March 13, 1998.
Becky had been a resident of Pensacola for the past 20 years. She was a member of Gulf Coast Christian Church; a graduate of Woodham High School Class of 1991; was attending the University of Florida School of Business; and was a member of several business clubs and organizations at the University of Florida.
Survivors include her father and mother, Bill and Beth Gibson; sister, Barbara Gibson; paternal grandparents, Oscar and Helen Gibson of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; maternal grandparents, Duane and Maxine Apple of Keyesport, Ill.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and special friend, Jeremy Messer.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Gulf Coast Christian Church with William Rodziwicz officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Charles Allcott, Dick Boyden, Tom Collier, Tom Estridge, Shannon Parsley, Warren Smith and Ervin Wright.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Woodham High School Class of 1991 and all her loving friends, both in Pensacola and Gainesville, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Becky Gibson Scholarship Fund, c/o Compass Bank, P.O. Box 30089, Pensacola, FL 32503.

Barbara L. Scales
Barbara L. Scales, age 63, of St. Petersburg, Fla., died of cancer in her home on Tuesday, March 17, 1998.
Born in Toccoa, Ga., she grew up in numerous locations in the U.S. and foreign countries. She was a graduate of Sullins College and the University of Oklahoma. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross. Mrs. Scales was also a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.
Barbara was known for her selfless, untiring work in numerous social programs.
Survivors include Col. Dave Scales, U.S. Air Force retired; son, David Stephen Scales and his wife Sharon and two grandsons Henry and Charlie from Philadelphia; Joseph Robert Scales and his wife Kim and two grandchildren Matt and Abigail from Cocoa Beach, Fla.; brother, David Kenneth Smith and wife Julie from Shalimar, Fla.
A memorial service for Barbara was held at Lutheran Church of the Cross at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Graveside services will be held in Oglethorpe, Ga., at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Matthews Funeral Home, Mentazuma, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.

Emma C. Maxfield
Emma C. "Honey" Maxfield of Destin, Fla., and formerly of Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998.
She was born on Oct. 29, 1907, in Walnutport, Pa., to frank and Emma Kelchner. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend.
Mrs. Maxfield was preceded in death by her husbands, Edmund G. Heiney and James Maxfield; and a son, Otto Kelchner Heiney. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara H. Wint and husband Frederick of Sandestin, Fla., and Roselyn F. Shimp of Destin, whom she lived with; daughter-in-law, Judith Heiney of Shalimar, Fla.; grandchildren, Barbara Wolfe of California, Karin Alsentzer of Pennsylvania, Kristine Cooksey of Florida, and Edmund S. Heiney of Florida; and eight great-grandchildren. Also among the survivors are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. She danced her way into the hearts of many.
Mrs. Maxfield will be cremated and her ashes will be returned to her beloved Pennsylvania. A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road N.E., Fort Walton Beach, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Elizabeth Woodall
Mary Elizabeth Woodall, age 98, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., died March 18, 1998, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Woodall was born March 10, 1900, and was a lifelong resident of Walton County, Fla. From age 55 to 70 she worked at Eglin Air Force Base as a nursing assistant. There she was compensated for her caregiving, something she had been doing for others all her life.
She enjoyed her flowers and working in her yard. She loved her neighbors and had a gifted, reciprocal, loving relationship with all children her entire life.
She was a member of Cluster Springs Baptist Church, but in recent years had been under watch-care adoption by the Home-Bound Care Program given by First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs. She also benefited, and was able to stay at home as a result of care provided by staff and volunteers from Council on Aging. She loves Jesus and so lived her life.
She is survived by one daughter, Virginia Johantgen of Sarasota, Fla.; sons, Harold and wife Donna of Plant City, Fla., and Sonny and wife Ming Woodall of Lakeland, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many loving and loved nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 21, from Cluster Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. William Aplin officiating. Burial will follow in Cluster Springs Cemetery.
Clary-Godwin Funeral Home, DeFuniak Springs, is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Philip Lawrence
Robert Philip Lawrence, age 80, of Bluewater Bay, Fla., died on March 21, 1998.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and served during World War II as a ship's navigational officer on Army transports.
He is survived by his wife, Ardeth; son Gregory and daughter-in-law Rosemary, of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter Barbara and son-in-law Stephen Beaudry, of Atlanta; grandchildren Katherine Gilbert, of New Jersey, and Sewall, Paul and Alexandra Beaudry, all of Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by his son Sewall, who died during service in Vietnam.
Bob spent 40 years in commercial real estate. He retired from American Multi Cinema in 1982 and moved from Kansas City to Bluewater Bay in 1983.
He will be greatly missed by loved ones and golfing friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Niceville, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Kenneth Carman Jennings
Kenneth Carman Jennings, born in Marydell, Miss., on June 17, 1929, passed away of cancer on March 19, 1998, in Woodland, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxie Lee Jennings and Vergia Lee Cummins Jennings of Louisville, Miss.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Louise Avery Jennings and daughter, Lori Anne Jennings of Woodland; sons and their wives, Phillip Craig and Deborah Jennings of Niceville, Fla., and Steven Lee and Darlene Jennings of Troy, Ala.; three granddaughters; two brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Nowell Funeral Home in Louisville, with burial services at Doty Springs Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 25, in Ethel, Miss.
The family requests remembrances be made to the American Heart Association; Hospice; Veterans of Foreign Wars; or to a charity of your choice.
Nowell Funeral Services, Louisville, is in charge of arrangements.

Winnifred L. Clarke
Winnifred L. Clarke, age 85, of Mary Esther, Fla., died Monday, March 23, 1998.
Mrs. Clarke was born in Port Huron, Mich. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and a retired registered nurse.
Mrs. Clarke is survived by her husband, Bernard L. Clarke of Mary Esther; and one sister.
An inurnment service will take place at a later date near Bushnell, Fla., at the Florida National Cemetery.
Little Chapel Funeral Home, 910 Beal Pkwy., Fort Walton Beach, is in charge of arrangements.

Clarice V. Donaldson
Clarice V. Donaldson, age 80, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., on March 23, 1998, our beloved mother was received by God and united with those who have passed before her.
Clarice was born on Jan. 17, 1918, in Tallapoosa County, Ala., and resided with her family in Fort Walton Beach since 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Ray Donaldson.
Survivors include her children, Robert and his wife Gloria Donaldson, Gordon and wife Linda Donaldson, Dennis and wife Shirley Donaldson, Guy and wife Helen Donaldson, and Gale and husband Roy Eklund; grandchildren, Bobby, Danny, Hal, Scott, Travis, Kellie and Kenny Donaldson, and Sean Eklund; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Hoyt Cook of Panama City, Fla.; and sister, Gladys Carnley of Kinston, Ala.
The family would like to acknowledge those women who gave Clarice their time, love and understanding care. To Sue Tanguay, Suzie Vaughn, Shirley Yarborough, Dotty Amos and Dawn Rawe, our gratitude cannot be expressed in mere words. Your kindness and devotion has been overwhelming. God bless you.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McLaughlin Mortuary.
Funeral services will be conducted from Mount Gilead Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 25, at 2 p.m. in Samson, Ala., with the Rev. Ronald W. Gaines officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Donaldson will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Mabel May Frame
Mabel May Frame, age 99, of Navarre, Fla., died Monday, March 23, 1998, in a local hospital.
She was a resident of Wichita, Kan., before moving to Navarre eight years ago.
Mrs. Frame was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Frame. She is survived by a daughter, Norma Gurnett of Navarre; son, Ronald Frame and wife Susan of Arab, Ala., and son, Paul Frame and wife Shirley of Overland Park, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be this evening at 7 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Mrs. Mabel May Frame.

Ruth Emilie Hills
Ruth Emilie Hills, age 72, a resident of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., for 34 years and a former resident of East Grand Rapids, Mich., died Saturday, March 21, 1998, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Hills was an active member of the Gold Star Wives.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Maj. John Russell "Russ" Hills, and is survived by her four sons, Steve Hills, John Hills and wife Janet, Tom Hills and wife Jessie, and Ricky Hills; and a grandchild, Jennifer.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Simon's-on-the-Sound on Wednesday, March 25, at 2 p.m. with Father Ronald Greiser officiating. The sons invite friends to their mother's home from 5 to 7 p.m. following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association in loving memory of Ruth Emilie Hills.
