Joyce Ronning
In memory of Joyce Ronning. Joyce left this world for a better place on April 23, 1998.
Joyce was a loving friend to all who knew her, a ray of sunshine in everyone's life.
She was a member of Post 78 AMVETS Auxiliary in Niceville, Fla., where she was employed as head cook. She loved preparing her famous spaghetti dinner and enjoyed cooking the breakfast buffet on Sunday mornings.
She also generously donated both time and expertise at the Pop-A-Top Lounge in Niceville -- always with a smile and can-do attitude. Joyce leaves a void that will never be filled.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Michael; daughters, Jennifer and Sharon; brothers, Richard, Jack, Warren and Chuck; sister, Jean; and two grandchildren.
Rest in peace, Joyce. We will miss you.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at AMVETS Post 78 in Niceville.

Glenville Eugene Clary
Glenville Eugene (Gene) Clary, age 66, a lifelong resident and businessman of Laurel Hill, Fla., passed away April 25, 1998, in the Crestview hospital. He is survived by his loving wife, Edith Presley Clary, of Laurel Hill, Fla.; three sons and their families, Terry Clary and Chris Reese of Florala, Ala., Gary and Elaine Clary of Laurel Hill, Fla., and Joe and Genena Williamson, of Kingsport, Tenn. Mr. Clary loved and always enjoyed his times spent with his four grandsons, two granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter. He also has one brother and sister-in-law, Lamond and Carolyn Clary, of Molino, Fla.
Mr. Clary was a diversified businessman of Laurel Hill for over 40 years. During his time he served as mayor of Laurel Hill for 18 years, among the many accomplishments he achieved for the people and his community were several new homes built and many repaired.
Under his leadership, Laurel Hill acquired funds for the building of a city park, which was named in his honor. This showed the people's appreciation for his dedication to their needs during his time of office.
Mr. Clary was very instrumental in the rebuilding of Pleasant Grove Assembly of God Church near Paxton, Fla., where he was a longtime member. He was Sunday school superintendent and served on the church board for many years.
Whitehurst Funeral Home of Crestview, Fla., is in charge of the arrangments. Friends called at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be conducted from the Whitehurst Funeral Home Chapel today, April 27, 1998, with Rev. Arron Boartfield of Pleasant Grove Assembly of God church officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery.

Elena E. Kruty
Elena E. Kruty, age 91, of Niceville, Fla., passed away April 24, 1998, at Westwood Healthcare Center.
She was born in Chicago and moved to Orlando, Fla. In 1994 she came to Niceville to live with her sister, Emily Barber. She was a world traveler and an avid reader who enjoyed living in this area.
Elena Kruty was the beloved aunt of Joyce Willett and Jane Greenwald. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in passing by her sister, Emily Barber.
She will be cremated as per her request. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
Emerald Coast Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James C. Turner
James C. Turner, age 52, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Saturday, April 25, 1998.
Mr. Turner was born in Carnegie, Okla., and had resided in Fort Walton Beach since 1977. He was Baptist by faith. He retired as a master sergeant in 1986 from the U.S. Air Force with over 24 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Won Lee Turner; mother, Ruth Turner; sons, James C. Turner and wife Amy, Markley Lee and Thomas Fritch; daughters, Joannie Housley and husband Bryan, and Cheryl Payne and husband Ken; and nine grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be conducted at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, in Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.

Billie Lee Klenk
Billie Lee Klenk, age 56, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died April 25, 1998.
Mrs. Klenk was born in Hamilton County, Ohio. She was a born again Christian and a member of New Life Tabernacle in Fort Walton Beach.
Survivors include her husband, Norbert T. Klenk; son, Lee Klenk; daughters, Lorena Moore and Gail Broxson; grandchildren, Jonathan Walker, Alison Klenk, Thomas Klenk, Ethan Klenk, Joanne Broxson and Joshua Broxson; and sisters, Bonnie Lewis, Ruby Blome and Betty Blome.
Friends may call at Little Chapel Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at Little Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Sansom Sr. officiating. Graveside interment services will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery.
For those who wish, donations may be made to the general fund of New Life Tabernacle Church in memory of Billie.

Mary I. Rice
Mary I. Rice, age 78, died Thursday, April 23, 1998, in Altoona, Pa.
Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her husband, Emery T. Rice in October 1977.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Carpenter and Charles of Concord, Calif., and Gayle R. Roberts and Richard of State College, Pa.; and grandchildren, Jack Prosser III and Joclyn Wood.
A time of visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at the funeral home.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, April 30, at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.

Mary Pearline Wade
Mary Pearline Walker Wade, age 74, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died April 25, 1998, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
She was born in Tuscaloosa County, Ala., and had been a resident of Fort Walton Beach for the past 10 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall William and Gertrude "Cannon" Walker; and husband, John T. Wade Sr.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, John T. Wade Jr., Richard Marshall and Cindy L. Wade, and Michael David Wade; daughter, Shirley Ann Wade; brother, Bobby Ray Walker Sr.; and grandchildren, Kenneth Edward Kilgellon, Jackie Levine Wade, Richard Anthony Wade and Tesa Rose Wade.
A memorial prayer service will be conducted at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 110 S.W. St. Mary Ave., Fort Walton Beach, at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 30, followed by a graveside blessing in Beal Memorial Cemetery.

Barbara F. Stuckey
Barbara F. Stuckey, age 61, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died at 1:20 p.m. April 26, 1998, at her residence.
She was born on May 26, 1936, in Jefferson County, Ala. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Portie Faucett. Barbara was a member of Shalimar United Methodist Church; Emerald Coast Retired Teachers Association; and Fort Walton Beach Family Community Educators. She taught fourth grade students at Edwins Elementary School for 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Bob Stuckey; sons, Phillip and wife Carolyn, and John and wife Dolly, both of Crestview, Fla.; daughter, Janet of Fort Walton Beach; sister, Mayre Elizabeth Parr and husband George of Birmingham, Ala.; and an aunt and uncle, Vergie and Seymore Smith of Birmingham.
Visitation of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Emerald Coast Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at Emerald Coast Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, with the Revs. John Collins and Jerry Harris, ministers of Shalimar United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery in Crestview.
Friends and family may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Northwest Florida, 1005 W. College Blvd., Suite B, Niceville, FL 32578; or to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society, 114 N.W. Beal Pkwy., Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548; or flowers will be appreciated.

Joyce Blair Rodgers
Joyce Blair Rodgers, born Feb. 7, 1921, in Russell Springs, Ky., to Pearl and Athol Blair, passed away April 24, 1998, in a local health care center in Sandestin, Fla.
She was a graduate of Mason High School in Mason, Ohio, and the Littleford-Nelson Business College in Cincinnati. Before her retirement in 1987 she had been executive secretary of the North Carolina Dental Association in Raleigh, N.C., as well as the Alabama Dental Association and the Alahama League of Municipalities in Montgomery, Ala., and on the staff of the Alabama Education Association. She had also been employed by the Cincinnati law firm of Hollister, Stetinius and Taft and the College of Music of Cincinnati.
Mrs. Rodgers is survived by a son, Paul Rodgers of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; son, Randall B. Tichenor and wife Carolyn of Huntsville, Ala.; brother, Bert Blair and wife Dorothy of Niceville, Fla.; and grandsons, Brian and Vincent Tichenor of Huntsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bridgeway Center, 137 Hospital Drive, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547, in memory of Mrs. Joyce Blair Rodgers.
Funeral services will be private, with arrangements by Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road N.E., Fort Walton Beach.

Lawra G. Nesbit
Lawra G. Nesbit, age 83, 4625 Hyacinth St., Parker, Fla., died Sunday, April 26, 1998, in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
Born in Stephens, Ark., he moved here in 1963 from Bermuda Island. He was a retired flight engineer with the U.S. Air Force after 33 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean conflict and Vietnam. Mr. Nesbit was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Eldorado, Ark., and of the Shrine Club.
He was preceded in death by two children, Mary Alice Nesbit and Lawra Stephen Nesbit. Mr. Nesbit is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Nesbit of Parker; son, Gary Wayne Nesbit of Parker; daughters, Barbara Ann Mosely and husband Robert of Shalimar, Fla., and Judy Faith Vought and husband Milton of Montgomery, Ala.; sister, Necie Wilson of Hot Springs, Ark.; grandchildren, Victoria Leigh Gregory, Michael John Mosely and Raechel Vought; and great-grandchild, Tate Stephen Gregory.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted on today at 11 a.m. in the Garden of Memories with Chaplain Larry Bonds officiating. Masonic grave rites will be conducted by Parker Lodge 142. The lodge will open at 10 a.m. today.

LeClare Jamison
"Sleep on, dear Papa

To take you from this world of sorrow,
To a lovely place of rest."
Before the dawning of a new day, God summoned a brave soldier to the foot of the throne.
LeClare Jamison was born to the late Emmitt and Mary Jamison on Feb. 25, 1914, in Hearne, Texas. He was the ninth child of five brothers and five sisters: Mamie, Richard, Jessie, Mack, Effie, Ethel, Juanita, Theodora and Solden. All preceded him in death.
L.J. attended and graduated from Dunbar High School in Lubbock, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army and the Air Force for 28 years. He retired in 1971 and Crestview, Fla., became his home. He managed a local service station. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and of the D.A.V.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mimary Jamison of Crestview; two sons, Donald Lee Jamison and wife of California, and John E. Jamison of Crestview; one sister, Rosie Jamison Gibson of Houston; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
McKinnie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert M. Tippins
Robert M. Tippins, age 70, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Wednesday, April 29, 1998.
Mr. Tippins was born in Birmingham, Ala., and came to Fort Walton Beach in 1973 from San Antonio, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and retired from the U.S. Air Force with over 24 years of service. Mr. Tippins also retired as an attorney with the State of Florida. He was a member of the Air Force Base Aero Club at Eglin Air Force Base; and of Fort Walton Beach Lions Club.
Survivors include his loving wife, Glenda I. Tippins of Fort Walton Beach; son, James Rankins Tippins of Houston; daughters, Sherill Ann Tippins of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Prudence Tippins of Fredricksburg, Va.; sister, Betty Tippins Harrison of Fort Walton Beach; and grandchildren, Vincent Polidoro, Nicholas Alexander Tippins and Dashiell Mecoy.

Bill W. Peebles Sr.
Bill W. Peebles Sr., age 84, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, April 28, 1998, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Peebles was born in Newville, Ala., on Nov. 2, 1913, and had been a resident of Okaloosa County since 1953. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1969 after 31 years of active duty, serving in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. He also retired from civil service (Hurlburt Field base billeting) in 1984.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Peebles of Newville, and his brother, Carlton Peebles of Tallahassee, Fla.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Louise R. Peebles; sons, Bill W. Peebles Jr. and wife Ann, and Robert W. Peebles; and grandson, Michael D. Peebles. He is also survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ellsworth and Myra Peebles of Newville, Felix and Sallie Peebles of Greenwood, S.C., and Whigham and Helen Pebbles of Tallahassee, Fla.; sisters, Edna Brannon of Adel, Ga., and Betty Hooks of Okmulgee, Okla.; sister-in-law, Dot Peebles of Tallahassee; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Lockhart Brannon.
Mr. Peebles attended Auburn University. He was an avid reader and a major baseball fan. He was also a Mason. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation for family and friends will be conducted on Friday, May 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at McLaughlin Mortuary.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at McLaughlin Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Howard Gates of First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach and the Rev. Toy Arnett of Faith Assembly Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Mr. Peebles' Sunday school class. Active pallbearers will be Gerard Perillo, Edward Perillo, Martin Whitfield, Harry Barr, J.D. Wingard Jr., and Felix Sambogna.
