KINGSPORT - Alexeus Danielle Coclough, 19-months-old, of 440 Eastley Court, passed away Tuesday (Jan. 8, 2002) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Eugene Hunley.
Surviving are her mother, Barbara Hunley, Kingsport; father, Christopher Coclough, Kingsport; one sister, Tasia Brooke Coclough, Kingsport; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Ruth Coclough, Kingsport; maternal grandmother, Kathy Hunley, Gate City, Va.; several aunts, uncles and a host of cousins.
Calling hours are from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Oak Hill Funeral Home or anytime at the home of Mrs. Ruth Coclough, 440 Eastley Court, Apt. 15 on Saturday evenings or Sunday evenings.
Services will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Lester Lattany and the Rev. David Sexton officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery.

ROGERSVILLE - Graveside services for Samuel Lee Cowan, 57, who went to be with the Lord on Tuesday (Jan. 8, 2002), will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.
Colboch-Price Funeral Home, Rogersville, is in charge of the arrangements.

Milen J. France, 69, Gate City, Va.
GATE CITY, Va. - Milen J. France, 69, Route 1, went to be with the Lord Friday morning (Jan. 11, 2002) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Survivors and arrangements will be announced by Scott County Funeral Home.

Georgia Head, 62, Rogersville.
ROGERSVILLE - Georgia Head, 62, 872 Light Hollow Road, died Thursday (Jan. 10, 2002) at Holston Valley Medical Center emergency room after an extended illness.
She was born in Kingsport and was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County.
Mrs. Head was a member of the House of Prayer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, McArthur Head in 1987; and her parents, Glen and Stella Light.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Jeff Roberts, Milton, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Archie Dwayne and Becky Head, Rogersville; three grandchildren, Steven Miller, Church Hill, Tiffany Head and Melissa Head, both of Rogersville; one great-grandson, Steven Miller Jr., Church Hill; one brother, Tony (JD) Light, Rogersville; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Fall Branch Chapel with the Rev. Rex Miller and the Rev. Clifford Cole officiating.
Roy and Julie Morelock will provide the music.
Interment will be in the Morrison Cemetery, Rogersville.
Pallbearers will be Paul Ward, Mark Crawford, Clint Penley, Mike Hackler, Jim Crawford and Scott Crawford.

Rebecca Helton, 63, Lebanon, Va.
LEBANON, Va. - Rebecca Keen Helton, 63, died Friday (Jan. 11, 2002) in the Mountain View Retirement Home after a long illness.
Born Dec. 4, 1938 in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Henderson and Alice Shortridge Keen. She had lived in Russell County for the past 36 years.
She was a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Lebanon.
Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Nelson J. Helton; five sons, William Turner, Clarksville, Pa., John Turner, Bluff City, Rodney Perdue, Knoxville, Douglas Perdue, Mississippi and Tim Whitt, Marion, Va.; two stepdaughters, Jessee Loveda Simms, Wilmington, Del., and Anna Taylor, Cleveland, Va.; five grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Calling hours are after 6 p.m. Sunday at Combs Funeral Service.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Howard Campbell and the Rev. Danny Rhea officiating.
Burial will be in the Ketron Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Musick, Mike Tignor, Ronnie Helton, Dan Helton and Charlie Helton.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

James Hensley, 78, Gate City, Va.
GATE CITY, Va. - James Hensley, 78, passed away Friday (Jan. 11, 2002) at Wellmont Hospice House of Bristol.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.

Lucinda Kilgore, 36, Kingsport.
Graveside services for Lucinda "Cindy'' Kilgore, 36, Bloomingdale community, Kingsport, who departed this life to a better home with the Lord on Thursday (Jan. 10, 2002) will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in the Bethany Old Regular Baptist Church Cemetery on Morelock Street with Elder Ronnie Hensley officiating.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown, is in charge of the arrangements.

Onie J. Marshall, 77, Hiltons, Va.
HILTONS, Va. - Graveside services for Onie Jessie Marshall, 77, Route 1, formerly of Snowflake community, who departed this life early Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2002) will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Oak Hill Cemetery, Kingsport with military graveside rites by American Legion Hammond Post No. 3 of Kingsport. The family will meet at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. to go to the cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, Va., is in charge of the arrangements.

Ada Mathews, 79, Rogersville.
ROGERSVILLE - Graveside services for Ada Ward Mathews, 79, 210 Robin Road, who passed away Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2002) will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Grassy Creek Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Mathews will lie in state at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. today.
Colboch-Price Funeral Home, Rogersville, is in charge of the arrangements.

Linda F. McGhee, 53, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Linda Fansler McGhee, 53, 646 Gravely Road, went to be with the Lord at 4:15 a.m. Friday (Jan. 11, 2002) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was a resident of Kingsport her entire life and was a member of Doran Addition Free Will Baptist Church.
Linda was a teacher's aide at Gravely Elementary School for 28 years and later was terminal manager for Logex Express in Kingsport for three years.
Her father, Earl Fansler preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband, Jimmie McGhee, Kingsport; one daughter, Jaime McClellan and husband, Travis, Kingsport; one son, DeWayne McGhee and wife, Pam, Kingsport; five grandchildren, Kristin, Logan, Shawn, Tyler and Angel; her mother, Maggie Fansler, Kingsport; one brother, Tommy Fansler, Kingsport; very special friends, Gay Hamby, Jennifer Baker and Jessie DeZarn, all of Kingsport.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Roy Lester officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Allene Owens, Roan Mountain.
ROAN MOUNTAIN - Allene Evelyn Owens died Thursday (Jan. 10, 2002) at the Roan Mountain Nursing Center after a lengthy illness.
A former resident of Kingsport, she was born Sept. 11, 1916 in Cocke County, Tenn., one of four girls. Allene completed high school in Newport, Tenn., and beautician training in Kingsport where she moved in 1929 at age 18. She worked in downtown Kingsport as a beautifician until retirement except for a short time commuting to Greeneville teaching beauticians.
Upon retirement, she was one of the first applicants accepted for residence at Kingsport Kiwanis Towers. Allene cherished living at Kingsport Kiwanis Towers for many years with her many friends. She was one of the longest residents and was Kiwanis Towers' only beautician for all the time she lived there. Her poor health forced a move in 1999 to Roan Highlands Nursing Center.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Marcia Ann at six years of age; her parents, Frank and Alice Theresa Rinedhart Cornet; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Talley and Mrs. Ruby Salley.
Surviving are one sister, Mary Nell Smith of Kingsport; three nieces and two nephews.
Calling hours are from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Oak Hill Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tulley Hunter officiating.
Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Andy Phillips, 87, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Services for Andy "Bostie" Phillips, 87, who went to be with Jesus Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2002), will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown, with the Rev. Dennis Westmoreland and the Rev. Gerald Bishop officiating.
John Arnold, Elmer Arnold and Joe Arnold will provide music.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Hazel Pulliam, 92, Fall Branch.
FALL BRANCH - Hazel Curtis Pulliam, 92, formerly of Fall Branch, died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2002) in Laughlin Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
Born in Greene County, she was a resident of Fall Branch all of her life. She was owner and operator of Pulliam Grocery from 1948 to 1969.
Mrs. Pulliam was a member of First Baptist Church of Fall Branch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Pulliam; a daughter, JoAnn Neas (Jan. 2, 2002); three brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dwight Carr, Fall Branch; son-in-law, Lacy Neas, Parrotsville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Steve Neas, Johnson City, Phil Neas, Greeneville, Shannon Carr, Fall Branch and Leanna Compton, Johnson City and Melanie Strickler, Fall Branch; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Opal Phillips, Oak Hill community; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Fall Branch with the Rev. Victor Wallace and the Rev. Carl Strickler officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Neas, Phil Neas, Shannon Carr, Steven Neas, Jeremy Carr, Bo Carr and Jackie Beard.
The Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jane Riordan, 63, Hazard, Ky.
HAZARD, Ky. - Jane Lee Riordan, 63, passed away Tuesday (Jan. 8, 2002) at Appalachian Regional Hospital at Hazard, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W.L. and Emma Riordan.
Surviving are two brothers, Jerry Riordan, Big Stone Gap, Va., and Jeff Riordan, Manteca, Calif.; aunt, Maxine Gidland, Daytona Beach, Fla.; three nephews, Jerome, Jason and Jarret Riordan; two nieces, Cassandra Riordan and Fatham Riordan-ng; one great-niece, Haylee Pope; one great-nephew, Michael Diez.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Holding Funeral Home, Big Stone Gap, Va.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Wayne Artrip and the Rev. Chris Tweedell officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Glencoe Cemetery. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery on Sunday.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Artesian Well Baptist Church or East Stone Gap Baptist Church in memory of Jane Riordan.

Donald Robertson, 57, Chuckey.
CHUCKEY - Donald B. Robertson, Jr., 57, of Chuckey, died Thursday morning (Jan. 10, 2002) in Sevierville after injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born in Kingsport where he resided in the Colonial Heights community until moving to Greene County in 1992.
Mr. Robertson formerly worked for Holston Defense Corp. He also was an employee of Sunbeam Bread working the Kingsport area as a route salesman.
He later worked for Pony Express and was employed with Lanter Trucking of Knoxville at the time of his death.
Donald loved the Lord and was a witness to anyone with whom he talked. He was a wonderful son, husband, father and grandfather. Donald attended the Church of God.
A son, Cliff Alan Robertson preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Ann Arnold Robertson, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Lori Ann and Jack Allen Hyatt, Chuckey; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald Lynn, Sr. and Rhonda Lee Robertson, Kingsport; five grandchildren, Madison Earp, Stephanie Hyatt, Ashlyn Kate Hyatt, Braydon Robertson and D. J. Robertson, Jr.; parents, Opal Robertson, Kingsport and Donald B. Robertson, Sr., Ocala, Fla.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Samuel Miles and Keith Webb officiating.
Interment will follow in Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Tony Holt, Jeff Holt, Buddy Archer, David Davis, Larry Arnold and Tracy Marshall.

Claude Smith, 89, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Claude E. Smith, 89, died Friday (Jan. 11, 2002) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Knox County, Tenn. (Knoxville) and came to Kingsport at an early age. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Smith retired from Kingsport Press. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Price and a daughter, Emily Smith Bellamy.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Anne Smith Francisco and her husband, Jim, Kingsport; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. Smith Sr. and his wife, Carolyn, Kingsport; eight grandchildren, Barbara S. Taylor, Jamie Francisco Smith, Robert A. Smith Jr., Jeffrey Francisco, Belinda L. Smith, Jackson Francisco, Becky L. Smith, Jonathan Francisco; and six great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.
The graveside service will be private with Wayne Boswell, minister, officiating.

Henry Tate, 81, Mount Carmel.
MOUNT CARMEL - Henry L. Tate, 81, 403 Old Hickory Circle, passed away Friday (Jan. 11, 2002) at 1:20 p.m. following a brief illness.

Lillian Tranbarger, 96, Kingsport.
KINGSPORT - Lillian M. Tranbarger, 96, went home to be with the Lord Friday (Jan. 11, 2002) after declining health at Wexford House.
She was born in Sullivan County, and had resided in Hawkins County for several years.
She was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Tranbarger; one daughter, Charlotte Anne Tranbarger; parents, McBeth and Luma Mann McIntosh; one sister, Elizabeth Arnold; one brother, George McIntosh.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Ethel Allen, Kingsport; two sisters-in-law, Julia Tompkins, Mount Carmel and Catherine Tranbarger, Kingsport; brother-in-law, Tom Tranbarger and his wife, Helen, Mount Carmel; along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mark Fleenor officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Gate City Funeral Home.

Graveside services will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park in the garden of David.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Johnson, Mike Poe, Jeff Howington, Stevie Cline, Brian Mosley and Michael Yates.
