Ruth L. Brintnall
Ruth L. Brintnall of Marshalltown, Iowa, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. She was 87.
Mrs. Brintnall was born on Nov. 10, 1914, in LeGrand, Iowa, to Calvin Bert and Lena LeDora Adair.
She taught school and coached basketball in Garwin.
She married William "Bill" Brintnall in Marshalltown. They lived in Marshalltown all their married lives.
Mrs. Brintnall was a member of 1st Congregational Church.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home. Services, conducted by Rev. Harlan Nuss, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the 1st Congregational Church. She will be buried at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Brintnall is survived by six children, David Wendy Brintnall of Omaha, Neb., Bette Robert Fanton of Lincoln, Neb., Steve Kathe Brintnall of Reno, Nev., Tom Laurel Brintnall of Columbia, Becky Curt Smith of Sturgeon, and Jody James Swope of Marshalltown, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Her husband, parents and two brothers died earlier.

Eddie Ray Williams
Eddie Ray Williams of Auxvasse died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center. He was 82.
Mr. Williams was a retired food manager at a state hospital.
He was born on March 17, 1919, in Callaway County to Joseph T. and Lela Craighead Williams. Mr. Williams graduated from Fulton High School.
He married Marion Kay Springer in Washington, Mo., in June 1968.
Private family services will be scheduled at a later date.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife; sons, Chuck R. Dotson of Auxvasse, Larry W. Dotson of Callaway County, Mark T. Williams of Auxvasse, Eddie R. Williams II of Williamsburg, Mo.; daughters, Sharon Davis of Columbia and Stacy A. Harden of Auxvasse; sister, Dean Owens of the state of California; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Tommy L. Kubach
Tommy L. Kubach of Columbia died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center. He was 84.
Mr. Kubach was born on June 6, 1917, in St. Joseph to Tommy L. Kubach Sr. and Lillian Maurine Truex Kubach.
Mr. Kubach served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He received a master's degree in social work at the University of Missouri in 1940. He married Glenna Mae Maughmer on Oct. 31, 1942, in Stockton, Calif.
Mr. Kubach retired in 1985 from the Missouri State Department of Health, where he worked as an administrative consultant for medical services.
He was a member of First Christian Church. He was also a member of the Missouri Association for Social Welfare, Missouri Alliance for Home Care, American Public Health Association, National League for Nursing, American Society for Public Administration, National Council on Aging and Association of Retired Missouri State Employees.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Services, conducted by John Yonker, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, 101 N. Tenth St. Burial will be at Savannah Cemetery in Savannah, Mo.
Mr. Kubach is survived by his wife; his daughter, Carole Butts of Kimberly City; a brother, Billy T. Kubach of Independence; and a granddaughter, Amber Cottle of Washington, D.C.
Memorials may be sent to the Missouri Association for Social Welfare, 308 East High Street, Jefferson City, Mo. 65101, or First Christian Church, 101 N. Tenth St., Columbia, Mo. 65201.

Wanda A. Puyear
Wanda Aloise Puyear of Columbia died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001 at University Hospital. She was 78.
Mrs. Puyear was born on July 22, 1923, to Lawrence and Opal Hobson Trieb.
She married Richard E. Puyear on April 17, 1947, in Indianapolis. The couple owned R.E. Puyear Excavating and Contracting Co. in Indianapolis. They retired in the 1970s. Mrs. Puyear moved to Columbia in 1994.
Services, conducted by Rev. Michael Keith, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Parker Funeral Services, 22 N. Tenth Street. Burial will be at Columbia Cemetery.
She is survived by sons, Christopher L. Puyear of Columbia, and Richard A. Puyear of Camdenton; daughters, Rebecca L. Hesselgrave of Indianapolis and Kathleen Susan Puyear of Columbia; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Her husband died earlier.
Memorials may be sent to St. Judes Research Hospital, c/o Dan Brennon, 3215 LeMone Blvd., Columbia, Mo. 65201; or Salvation Army, 1108 W. Ash, Columbia, Mo. 65203.

Geny T. Delima
Geny Tamassia Delima died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at her Columbia home. She was 68.
Mrs. Delima was born Oct. 12, 1933, in Joanopolis, a town in the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil. She received a degree in education from the Catholic University of Sao Paulo.
She came to the United States in 1967, joining her husband, Ebion de Lima, who was a professor at MU.
Mrs. Delima taught Portuguese at MU. She also ran a day care in town.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Mrs. Delima is survived by her husband, a son, William Delima of Columbia; a daughter, Anna Saathoff of Columbia; and five grandchildren.

Patricia Anderson
Patricia Anderson, long-time promotions and public service director for KFRU radio, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center. She was 64.
Mrs. Anderson was born on Jan. 17, 1937, in Ann Arbor, Mich. She attended the University of Detroit and the University of Michigan.
She married Dr. Philip C. Anderson in 1962. Dr. Anderson, a dermatologist and a professor at MU's School of Medicine, died earlier.
Mrs. Anderson was an active member of the Columbia community. She served on the board of the Boone County Medical Auxiliary and worked closely with the Columbia Art League.
In 1986, she accepted the Ad Council's Silver Bell Award for outstanding public service campaigns and volunteer work.
During the 1990s, Mrs. Anderson served as a hospice care volunteer and was a benefactor to the MU School of Music.
A memorial mass, conducted by Father Edwin Cole, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A private burial will be held at Columbia Cemetery. She is survived by daughter, Carrie Anderson of Portland, Ore.; sons, Jeffrey Anderson of McLean, Va., and Stephen Anderson of Madison, N.J.; sister, Judy Jacobsen; and four grandchildren.

William A. Alber
William A. Alber of Columbia died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at Truman Veterans Hospital. He was 75.
Mr. Alber was born July 16, 1926, in Ypsilani, Mich., to Arthur and Irma Weidmeyer Alber.
He married Kathryn Pool. He worked as a boilermaker.
Services will be held at a later date under the direction of the Nilson Funeral Home. Mr. Alber is survived by his wife, two sons, Todd Alber of Hallsville and Timothy Alber of Chicago; a sister, Betty Cushay of Boone, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
His son, Thomas Alber, died earlier.

James M. German
James M. German of Columbia died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at his home. He was 63.
Mr. German was born April 28, 1938, in Higbee to Millard P. and Mitilda M. Cadimis German.
He married Katherine Linhart on Feb. 11, 1961, in Fayette.
Mr. German served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959 as a combat engineer in the 163rd Battalion.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Constitutional Patriots. Mr. German served as president of the Alumni Heights Neighborhood Association. He also worked with the developmentally disabled.
Visitation for Mr. German will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nilson Funeral Home, 5611 St. Charles Road. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. that evening.
Services, conducted by Rev. Donald Wallace, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayette. Burial will be at the Fayette City Cemetery.
In addition to his wife, Mr. German is survived by two sons, Jamie German and Lecil German, both of Columbia; two daughters, Teresa Voorheis and Heidi German, both of Columbia; and two granddaughters.
His parents and a sister, Dorthy Andrews of Higbee, died earlier.
Memorials may be sent to the Cedar Creek Therapeutic Riding Center, 4895 E. Highway 163, Columbia, MO 65201.

Ruth Mitchell
Ruth Mitchell of Columbia died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Boone Retirement Center. She was 96.
Mrs. Mitchell was born Oct. 9, 1905, in Columbia to Thomas Henry and Ora Tilden Shock Armstrong.
She married Horace Taylor Mitchell in New Florence. Mrs. Mitchell graduated from Columbia High School and attended MU.
Mrs. Mitchell worked as an office manager at A.F. Neate Dry Goods Co. for 37 years. She was a member of the Missouri United Methodist Church for more than 50 years and was active in the Wesleyan Circle and United Methodist Church Women. She was a lifetime member of the Boone Hospital Center Volunteer organization.
Visitation for Mrs. Mitchell will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Parker Funeral Service, 22 N. Tenth St. Services, conducted by Rev. Jim Bryan, will be private.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by a daughter, Mary Bayer of Columbia, and two grandchildren.
Her parents, husband and sister died earlier.
Memorials may be sent to Missouri United Methodist Church, 201 S. Ninth St., Columbia, Mo. 65201.

James K. Hyde
James K. Hyde of Columbia died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center. He was 80.
Mr. Hyde was born June 11, 1921, in Columbia to George E. and Sallie Baker Hyde. He married Fay Ridgeway.
Mr. Hyde was a member of the Charity Baptist Church.
Services, conducted by Rev. Dennis Stuart, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hyde is survived by his wife, a daughter, Paula Davis of Columbia; two brothers, Sam W. Hyde of Columbia and Charles E. Hyde of Cheyenne, Wyo.; three sisters, Bessie F. Sexton of Higbee, Lena M. Craig of Hallsville, and Lillian G. Davis of Columbia; and two grandsons.
Three brothers and two sisters died earlier.

Margaret McGregor Neuffer
Margaret McGregor Neuffer died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at her family's home in Columbia after a brief illness. She was 77.
Mrs. McGregor was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Mound Valley, Idaho to Ruth Curtis and James Davis McGregor.
She married Myron Gerald Neuffer on March 18, 1943, in the Logan, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Four years later, the Neuffers moved to Columbia.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was an important part of Mrs. Neuffer's life. She directed the church choir for 30 years and also did work in the genealogical family history research center for the last 25 years. She served a temple mission in 1994. Visitation for Mrs. Neuffer will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 904 Old Highway 63 S., in Columbia.
Services will follow, beginning at 2 p.m.
Burial will be in the Preston, Idaho cemetery on Saturday.
Mrs. Neuffer is survived by husband Myron Neuffer of Columbia; sons Myron David of Atoka, Tenn., John Neuffer of Columbia, Gregory Wayne Neuffer of Memphis, Tenn., and Lewis Dale Neuffer of Bonn, Germany; daughters Barbara Ruth Neuffer of Grantsville, Utah, Peggy Hendrix of Auxvasse and Linda Chaston of Somersworth, N.H.; 27 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her brothers, Glen McGregor and Youngs McGregor, and sisters, Dora Greaves and Blanche McMasters Raidy, died earlier.

Pauline Baldwin
Pauline Mary Baldwin of Columbia died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at South Hampton Place in Columbia. She was 70.
Mrs. Baldwin was born Sept. 7, 1931, in Boone County to Charles William and Myrtle Maybelle Davidson Harris. She lived her whole life in Boone County. She worked as an assembler. Mrs. Baldwin was also involved with the Senior Center in Columbia.
Services, conducted by the Rev. Michael Keith, were held Thursday at Parker Funeral Service, 22 N. Tenth St. in Columbia.
Mrs. Baldwin is survived by a son, Stephen P. Baldwin of Columbia; three daughters, Gloria Buckler and Carol Hanson, both of Columbia and Vicki Locke of Kirksville; a brother, John W. Harris of Centralia; a sister, Elizabeth Tipton of Columbia; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to the Columbia Senior Center, 1211 Business Loop 70 E., Columbia, Mo. 65201.

John David Shafer
John David Shafer, father of Rita Key of Columbia, died in Mission Hills, Kan., on Dec. 17, 2001. He was 65.
Shafer was born on March 8, 1936, in Kansas City to Otto and Dorothy Shafer. He grew up in Mission Hills.
An MU graduate who served in the U.S. Army Reserves, Shafer was a licensed real estate broker in Kansas and Missouri for 43 years.
He is survived by his wife Jane Goldshaper of Mission Hills; a son John David Shafer Jr. of Mission Hills; his daughter; a brother Robert Shafer of Whidbey Island, Wash.; two grandchildren, Sean Kirk of Boise, Idaho and Tony Krenz of Tulsa, Okla. and three great-grandchildren.
The family will conduct private services at Friendship Church in Hallsville.
