PEKIN - Conrad Charles Zank, 80, of 806 Illinois Street, died at 9:45 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2001 at his residence.
Born January 26, 1921 in Neillsville, Wisconsin to William Frederick and Emma Stelloh Zank, he married Mildred E. "Midge" Jent on June 29, 1946 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Julie A. (Pete) Moreschi of Pekin; two grandchildren, Danielle D. Moreschi of Macomb and Matthew C. Moreschi of Pekin; five brothers, Walter (Frieda) Zank of Fairchild, Wisconsin, Robert L. Zank of Pekin, Frank H. (Jeanette) Zank of Neillsville, Wisconsin, Louis Zank and Harold C. (Jeanenne) Zank, both of Center City, Minnesota and one sister, Leona E. (Harold) Evenson of St. Paul, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Grace E. Suckow and three brothers, August W. Zank, Edward Zank and Albert A. H. Zank.
A World War II Army veteran, he served from December 5, 1942 to October 26, 1945 in Iceland and also in Europe. He attained the rank of Corporal.
He worked 43 years at the Corn Products Company in Pekin as an instrument and control technician, retiring in 1984 from Pekin Energy.
Mr. Conrad was a handyman and enjoyed gardening. He also was an avid reader. In his younger years he played a lot of baseball.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2001 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Timothy Nolan will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

JACK C. EBERLE
(1932-2001)
CREVE COEUR - Jack Charles Eberle, 68, of 311 Morton Street, Creve Coeur, died at 5:02 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2001 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born October 24, 1932 in Freeport to Harlan and Ruth B. Toelle Eberle, he married Rosemary Kleist Langloss on September 4, 1954 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Peoria; three daughters, Cynthia L. "Cindy" (David) Barnewolt of Mackinaw, Shelley M. (Randy) Egli of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Lori A. (Patrick) Sheldon of Creve Coeur; one son, Michael T. (Deborah) Eberle of Metamora; four grandchildren, Joshua D. Barnewolt and Justin M. Barnewolt, both of Mackinaw, and Staci A. Sheldon and Cody P. Sheldon, both of Creve Coeur; one great-grandson; one brother, Harlan "Abe" (Doris) Eberle of East Peoria; and one sister, Sandra S. Eberle of Elmwood.His father preceded him in death.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Eberle worked at Commercial Solvents in Peoria for nine years as a machine operator. He later worked as a pipefitter at Caterpillar, Inc. for 27 years, retiring November 1, 1990 from East Peoria.
He was a member of the Ann Street Bible Church in Peoria, the United Auto Workers Local #974 in East Peoria; and the American Legion Limestone Post #979 in Bartonville.
He enjoyed fishing.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2001 at the Ann Street Bible Church, 2105 West Ann Street, Peoria. The Rev. Donald D. Burleson will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel and 30 minutes prior to services Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria with full military honors.

MARGARET L. MEYER
(1906-2001)
CREVE COEUR'Margaret L. Meyer, 95, of 534 Boyer Ave., Walla Walla, Washington, died at 3:25 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2001 at the Washington Odd Fellows Home in Walla Walla. She was formerly of Creve Coeur for 59 years before moving to Walla Walla in 1991.
Born March 8, 1906 in Peoria, she was a daughter of William and Caroline Mohn Cook. She married Albert Meyer, Jr. on May 16, 1931 in Knoxville, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 27, 1978 in Peoria, 6 sisters and 4 brothers.
Surviving are 2 sons, Allan (Marymae) Meyer of Lombard, Illinois and Larry (Sharon) Meyer of Walla Walla; 5 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, Mrs. Meyer was a former member of the Creve Coeur Women's Club, Tazewell Senior Citizens Club, and the Caterpillar Retirees Club. She also enjoyed gardening and travel.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Friday at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Rev. Don Zumwalt will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m., Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur chapel.

CLINTON F. CAGLE
(1927-2001)
MARQUETTE HEIGHTS - Clinton Franklin "Frank" Cagle, 74, of 307 Decatur Road, Marquette Heights died at 8:15 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2001 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was formerly of Manito.
Born February 22, 1927 in Cobden to George Clinton and Susie Mae Black Cagle, he married Wanda Jerline "Jerry" Short on August 8, 1949 in Jonesboro. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Steven E. (Debra) Cagle of Havana and Jon R. (Sharon) Cagle of Carterville; three daughters, Kathi J. (James) Day of Creve Coeur, Cynthia J. (Michael) Bridgman of Toluca, and Melinda S. (Timothy) Sowers of Marquette Heights; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Clara) Cagle of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; one sister, Pauline Presley of Murphysboro; one step-brother, Loren (Delma) Rendlemen of Washington; and one step-sister, Mildred George of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother (Grace Cagle), one son (Clinton Ray Cagle on September 16, 1970 in Peoria), one brother (Jackie Cagle), and one sister (Annie Irene Cagle).
A World War II Navy veteran, he had served in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Cagle worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 31 years, retiring in 1981 from the repair floor in building SS at East Peoria.
He was a member of the Manito Baptist Church in Manito.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and talking on his CB radio where he went by the handles of Maple or Maple on the Hill.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. R. L. Lockerby will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery in Spring Bay.

JOHN W. "BILL" ADELL
(1916-2001)
PEKIN - John W. "Bill" Adell, 84, of 59 Rainbow Drive, died at 6:38 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at his residence.
Born October 18, 1916 in Elliott to Carl Edward and Lizzie May Anderson Adell, he married Clara F. "Claire" Earnest on March 5, 1938 in Paxton. She survives.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, John A. DeFord and Julie C. (Travis) Regan, both of Pekin and two great-grandchildren, Cambria Rae-Ann Regan and Blaine L. Regan. He also leaves a son-in-law, James A. DeFord of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Christy Ann "Chris" DeFord on November 5, 1999 in Pekin and three sisters, Myrtle M. Rinkenberger, Frances V. Schilts and Elsie V. Emsing.
He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the European Theater.
He was a steamfitter in construction for Caterpillar, Inc. for 32 years, retiring in 1974. He also farmed for more than 35 years in Dillon Township, Tazewell County. He was a former member of the Tazewell County Farm Bureau.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Pekin, where he formerly served the church as a deacon and elder for many years. He also was a member of the Everready Sunday school Class, Men's Ministry and the dart ball team at First Christian Church.
He enjoyed fishing and also going to auctions.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2001 at the First Christian Church in Pekin. The Rev. Robert N. Brite will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight (Thursday) at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

PEKIN - Louise E. Van Buren, 93, of 191 East Queenwood Road in Morton, died at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at Morton Terrace, Ltd. She was formerly a resident of 912 Prince Street in Pekin.
Born April 26, 1907 in Pekin to Charles and Minnie Knigge Ball, she married Henry Jacob Van Buren on June 19, 1930 in Pekin. He died November 24, 1997 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Lois M. (James) Coleman of Morton; five grandchildren, Timothy M. Coleman of Pekin, Kevin C. (Tracey) Coleman of Tualatin, Oregon, Colleen M. (Timothy) Carey of Washington, Kathleen R. (Dave) Neulinger of Green Valley and Margaret A. Coleman of Pekin; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Ball of Pekin and one sister, Edith Abernathy of Sun City, Arizona.
A homemaker, she worked for the Boss Glove Company in Peoria from 1923 until 1928.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women and Rachel-Sarah Circle of her church.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2001 at Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin. The Rev. Gaylord E. Buss will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services Friday at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.

BARTONVILLE - Cuba Pauline Cooper, 85, of 900 South Chestnut Street in Pana, died at 11:01 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at the Pana Community Hospital. She was formerly of 7105 Depot Street in Bartonville.
Born August 2, 1915 in Peoria to Hugh D. and Eva May Beeney Bennett, she married Ervin Cooper on June 1, 1931 in Peoria. He died April 30, 1982 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by one son, Richard E. Cooper on May 17, 1998 in Canton, one brother, one sister and one grandson.
Surviving are one son, Norman D. Cooper of Pekin; two daughters, Edith P. Adams of Creve Coeur and Charlotte L. Bella of Grandville; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; one brother, Hugh D. Bennett, Jr. of Tucson, Arizona; and two sisters, Iola Nagy of Lakewood, California and Madeline (John) Bartos of East Peoria.
She was a homemaker.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2001 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel. The Rev. Claude Craig will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.

MARJORIE E. CLAYBERG
(1915-2001)
PEKIN - Marjorie Ellen Clayberg, 85, 191 E. Queenwood Road in Morton died at 3:00 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2001 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. She was formerly of Sarasota, Florida from 1974-94 and of 1500 N. 13th in Pekin.
Born March 28, 1915 in Lily, Illinois, to Pearl and Carrie Miller Barrick, she married James C. Clayberg on June 12, 1936 in Mackinaw, Illinois. He died on February 6, 1991 in Sarasota, Florida. Two brothers also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, James G. (JoAnn) Clayberg of Pekin; two grandchildren, Julie L. (Robert) Goshorn of Romeoville, Illinois and Jill E. Kapusta of Naperville, Illinois; and four great-grandchildren.
A homemaker, Mrs. Clayberg had previously been a buyer and sales clerk for the Hackler Drug Store and its successor, Thrifty Drugs in Pekin. She was formerly a member and holder of various offices in the Pekin Lions Club Ladies Auxiliary and the Sarasota (FL) Lioness Club. She was also formerly a member of 2 bridge clubs in Pekin and several bowling leagues at the Pekin Recreation Center and the Pekin Elks Lodge. She had been a Cub Scout den mother in the pack that met at Douglas School in Pekin.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pekin.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at her church. Rev. Terry Edele and Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel

THOMAS P. CODY, SR.
(1918-2001)
PEKIN - Thomas P. Cody, Sr., 83, of 604 West Shore Drive, died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at his residence. He was formerly of Virden.
Born March 6, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan to Thomas Cleveland and Cecilia Marie Vota Cody, he married Kathryn F. "Kate" Sepesy on July 21, 1947 in Virden. She survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Patrick J. (Gloria "Han") Cody of Seoul, Korea, Thomas P. (Debra) Cody, Jr. of Sparland, Michael J. (Sally) Cody and James B. Cody, both of Pekin and Mark H. (Carla) Cody of Roanoke, Virginia; one daughter, Karen A. (Dane) Shelley of Groveland; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty Smith of Virden.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, William Cody, Myrle Cody and Harold Cody.
He enlisted and served in the Coast Guard from 1939 until serving in the Navy during World War II. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1944.
He was a 1938 graduate of Virden High School. He graduated in 1949 from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Mr. Cody retired in 1980 from Caterpillar, Inc. after 30 years of service, last working as the heat treat engineer at Mossville. He was a member of the American Society of Metallurgists.
A history buff, he enjoyed photography and growing roses.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2001 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Robert N. Brite, Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

CALVIN M. HEDDEN
(1919-2001)
PEKIN - Calvin Martin "Cal" Hedden, 81, of 34 Rainbow Drive, Pekin, died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2001 in the emergency room of Pekin Hospital.
Born December 9, 1919 in McCracken County, Kentucky to Frank Calvin and Minnie Martin Berry Hedden, he married Judy Elaine Stroup on November 22, 1992 at Steak n Shake in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Marty Williams of East Peoria and Rick W. (Dea) Engelbrecht of Peoria; four daughters, Linda Lee of Saint Louis, Missouri and Cheryl E. Hedden, Jackee L. Hedden, and Mindy S. Hedden, all of Pekin; two grandchildren, Josh R. Engelbrecht of Peoria and Marty Dee (Glen) Lipe of Mulkeytown; and one brother, Lillard E. (Margie) Hedden of Pekin.
His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
He was a World War II United States Navy veteran.
An all-round precision machinist for 58 years, he had worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria, Morton Metalcraft in Morton, E.M. Smith & Co. and Linn Julian Tool & Die, both in Peoria, Armitage Machine Company in Bartonville, and last at Tompco in North Pekin, retiring in 1993. He also had owned and operated HH Precision Machine Shop, Cal's Photography, and a motorcycle shop, all in Pekin.
A pool enthusiast, he had owned and operated Cue Paradise in Pekin from 1967 to 1972. He was a Santa Claus for 25 years and also was an artist.
He was a charter member and past president of the Pekin Archery Club and had instructed many including Olympic Medallist Vick Wunderlee. The Pekin Pekin Park District named the building at the archery range after Mr. Hedden. He was a member of the National Archery Association. He also was a charter member and past president of the Celestial City Riders Motorcycle Club.
He attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God in East Peoria and the First Assembly of God in Pekin. He was a former member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kevil, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel with visitation two hours prior. The Rev. Gary W. Watkins will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

WILLIAM V. WATSON
(1914-2001)
CREVE COEUR - William V. "Vince" Watson, 86, of 304 South Stewart Street, died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2001 at the Apostolic Christian Restmor, Inc. in Morton.
Born August 8, 1914 in Hindsboro to William Clement and Zoe Eolene Hutchins Watson, he married Martha Hall on June 15, 1932 in Paris, Illinois. She died October 11, 1981 in Peoria. He then married Eleanor M. (Hamilton) Shinall on September 1, 1984 in Creve Coeur. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Judy A. L'Heureux of Friendswood, Texas and Nancy B. (Alan) Hersemann of East Peoria; two step-daughters, Sandra M. Quinn of Germantown Hills and Rebecca S. (Patrick) Booth of East Peoria; six grandchildren, Patricia S. (John) Teeter of Chepachet, Rhode Island, Barbara R. (Lance Lundstead) L'Heureux of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Eliza A. (Rex) Trotter of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Marisa L. L'Heureux of Chicago, David A. (Laurel) Hersemann of Clarendon Hills and Rachel L. (Charles) Emken of Spring Grove; four step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson and one sister, M. Eolene Brown of New Orleans, Louisiana.
His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
He retired in 1975 from Caterpillar, Inc. after more than 30 years of service, last working as an inspector in quality control at Building KK in East Peoria.
He was presently serving as the president of the Creve Coeur Library Board of which he also was a longtime member. He was a member of the Creve Coeur Lions Club. He was a former member of the Creve Coeur Grade School District No. 76 Board of Education. In 1977, he was named the Creve Coeur Man of the Year.
He was a charter member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Creve Coeur, where he served the church as an elder for many years.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at his church. The Rev. Donald G. Zumwalt will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Union Cemetery in Hindsboro.

HENRY KAVISIC
(1910-2001)
PEKIN - Henry Kavisic, 90, of 600 West Shore Drive, died at 11:11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2001 at Amy's Country Manor in Pekin.
Born October 8, 1910 in Virden to Simon and Mary Korn Kavisic, he married Lois Jean Knieriem on October 17, 1939 in Burlington, Iowa. She died August 20, 1991 in Pekin. His parents, one brother and one sister also preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Ann (Edward) Conway of Lockport and Kathie Jean (William) Buselmeier of Pekin; five grandchildren, David C. Mayes, Daniel C. (Victoria) Mayes and Susan K. (Jeff) Lance, all of Pekin, John E. Conway of Lockport and Michael E. Conway of Matua, New Jersey and six great-grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Illinois College at Jacksonville with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. He was a member of the Pi Pi Rho Literary Society.
Mr. Kavisic worked for Corn Products Company from 1943 until retiring in 1974. He began his career at CPC in Pekin and retired more than thirty years later as superintendent of the wet starch area at the north Kansas plant in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a member of the CPC Pioneer Club.
He also was a member of the Pekin Toastmasters Club and the American Association of Retired Persons. He was a past president of the Peoria Area Accordion Club.
He was a member of the Pekin First Church of God, where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2001. The Rev. R. Keith Heberer will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at his church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.

VERA B. HIESER
(1931-2001)
PEKIN - Vera B. Hieser, 69, of 1207 South Edgewater Road, Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at the Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was formerly of Pekin.
Born December 17, 1931 in Dahinda to Ed and Lola Dawson Shafman, she married Albert R. Hieser on August 5, 1951 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Phillip Hieser of Dexter, Oregon, Keith (Mary Jean) Hieser of California, and Kevin (Loni) Hieser of Pekin; two daughters, Christy (Mike) McCoy of Peoria and Renee (Nick) Armstrong of West Plains, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Louis Howard of Three Rivers, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents and one sister, Lillian Smith, preceded her in death.
A homemaker, Mrs. Hieser was a member of the United Methodist Church in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and a former member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin. She was also a member of the Turkey Mountain Golf League, the Eagle's Club, and the Elk's Ladies, all of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2001 at First United Methodist Church in Pekin. The Rev. Terry C. Edele will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin chapel. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

CONNIE B. CASPER
(1919-2001)
PEKIN - Connie B. Casper, 81, of 1520 El Camino Dr., died at 8:15 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2001 at Pekin Manor. She was formerly of 1002 Amanda St.
Born December 9, 1919 in Clayton, Georgia, she was a daughter of Robert Frank and Lena May Philyaw Thompson. She married Donald A. Casper on October 17, 1948 in Manchester, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother and several sisters.
Surviving are 5 nieces, Susan (Douglas) Kyle of Pekin, Reba McEldowny of Macon, Georgia, Sharon (Lee) Thurmes of Stillwater, Minnesota, Faye (Welsh) Owens of Burnsville, North Carolina, and Diane (Bill) Griffin of Naperville, Illinois.
Mrs. Casper attended the Congregational United Church of Christ in Pekin.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 8, 2001 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin chapel. Rev. Gary Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Further services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, March 12, 2001 at New Liberty Methodist Church in Clarksville, Georgia. Rev. Donald Holbrook will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the New Liberty Methodist Church Cemetery.

ANNA M. JOHNSON
(1928-2001)
PEKIN - Anna Margaret "Ann" Johnson, 72, of 444 South Parkway Drive, Apartment 1410, Pekin, died at 7:11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001 at Pekin Hospital.
Born August 3, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Martin and Catherine Roth Louwers, she married LeRoy Robert Johnson on November 24, 1964 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He died December 26, 1998 in Pekin. One brother (Larry Louwers) and two sisters (Katherine Barrows and Marilyn Machmueller) also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sisters, Dorothy M. Helmick and Carol J. (J. Clifford "Cliff") Simpkins, both of Pekin; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Johnson was an office worker at several department stores in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, last working at the Boston Department Store in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Graveside services will be at Noon, Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at the Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate.
Arrangements are by the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.

MARGARET L. TURNER
(1925-2001)
PEKIN - Margaret Louise Turner, 75, of 2220 State Street, Pekin, died at 4:45 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2001 at Pekin Living and Rehabilitation Center. She was formerly of 16 Park Drive in North Pekin.
Born August 13, 1925 in Chicago to Rocco Louis and Edith Ruth Peterson Angarole, she married Clarence Lester "Bud" Turner, Sr. on October 11, 1943 in Chicago. He died September 22, 1981 in North Pekin. She was also preceded in death by one infant son, Clayton L. Turner.
Surviving are one son, Clarence L. "Les" (Carol) Turner, Jr. of Pekin; one daughter, Ruth F. (Ronald) Enlow of Avon, Indiana; two grandchildren, Courtney E. Enlow of Columbus, Ohio and Ryan E. Enlow of Avon, Indiana; one brother, Arthur I. (Grace) Angarole of San Jose, California; one sister, Edith R. (Robert) Kranson of Glendale Heights; five nephews; and one niece.
Mrs. Turner was a member of the Creve Coeur Christian Church. She also was a member of the Creve Coeur American Legion Auxiliary Unit #1234 since 1963, and served as past president.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. John E. Plunkett will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.

EVELYN CROWELL
(1915-2001)
PEKIN - Evelyn I. "Mom" Crowell, 85, of 2501 Allentown Road, Pekin, died at 12:35 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2001 at Hallmark House Nursing Center. She was formerly of 405 Lakeside Avenue, Apt. B in Pekin.
Born December 18, 1915 in Peoria to August and Hilma Sophia Hallstrom Seaburg, she married Clarence David "Pop" Crowell on June 12, 1940 in Peoria. He died August 31, 1986 in Iowa City, Iowa. One brother, Walter Seaburg, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, David L. (Susan) Crowell of Peoria and Dennis J. (Sue) Crowell of Pekin; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Thomas of South Carolina, Robert A. Thomas of Atlanta, Georgia, Melissa L. (Michael) May and Kurt D. Crowell, both of Bartonville, Susan M. Crowell of Canton and Seth B. Crowell of Pekin; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Plack of Peoria.
A graduate of Kingman High School in Peoria, she received her teaching certificate from the Illinois State Normal Teachers College.
She was a schoolteacher in the Peoria area for 50 years, retiring in 1986 from Monroe School District No. 70 in Bartonville. She had previously taught at Greeley School and Peoria Christian. She was a member of the Peoria Area Retired Teachers Association.
She was a piano, organ and voice instructor for many years and served as the area director of the Youth for Christ Club and Chorale in Peoria with her husband.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pekin, where she served her church as organist and also as the director of the Agape Handbell choir. She also had taught the Maranatha Ladies Sunday school class at her church. She formerly served as the minister of music at Tyng Memorial Church and Grace Presbyterian Church, both in Peoria.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2001 at the First Baptist Church in Pekin. The Rev. Robert E. MacKay will officiate. There will be no visitation. She arranged to have her body donated to medical science. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Handbell Choir, 700 South Capitol Street, Pekin, Illinois 61554 or to the Peoria Area Civic Chorale Summer Youth Choral Camp, P.O. Box 9696, Peoria, Illinois 61612-9696.
