Kenneth W. Wilson
Kenneth Wayne (Flip) Wilson, 44, of Orange, died Monday, October 21, 2002, at University of Virginia Hospital. Born September 24, 1958, in Charlottesville, he was a son of the late Thurman Douglas Wilson, Sr. and Mabel Holliday Sacre Wilson.
Survivors include three brothers, Thurman Douglas Wilson, Jr. of Orange, Ricky Allen Wilson and Randy Lewis Wilson, both of Orange; two sisters, Linda Wilson Goodwin of Barboursville and Jane Elizabeth Wilson of Orange; two aunts, Julia Shifflett of Gordonsville and Ida Mae Ryder of Orange and a number of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, at Preddy Funeral Chapel, Orange, with the Rev. Stanley Johnson officiating. Interment will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribtutions may be made to the Kenneth Wilson Memorial Fund, c/o Preddy Funeral Home, P. O. Box 321, Orange, Virginia 22960.

Robert S. Coleman, Sr.
Robert S. Coleman, Sr., 92, of Unionville, died April 6, 2003, due to a motor vehicle accident on Route 522 South, Orange County. He was born July 28, 1910, in Orange County. Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy H. Coleman.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte June Faulconer of Clifton Park, New York; a son, Robert S. Coleman, Jr. and wife, Sandy, of Unionville; a brother, James F. Coleman, Sr. of Unionville; a sister, Mildred Bartholow of Wheaton, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Robert E. Faulconer of Rhoadesville, Michael Bradley Faulconer of San Francisco, California, Allison L. Faulconer of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Barbara Koontz of Culpeper, Lori S. Coleman of Culpeper, Melissa Coleman of Madison and Jamie Coleman of Unionville and four great-grandchildren, Eric and Kassie Faulconer and Hunter Koontz and Bailey Coleman.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, with the Rev. Linda Ray officiating. Interment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Unionville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 9.
Pallbearers named are Robert Faulconer, Bill Hume, C. S. Hume, Brad Faulconer, Jamie Coleman, Stearns Coleman, Jr. E. V. Baker and Gary Waugh.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Oakwood Cemetery Fund, c/o Mr. Allen Duncan, 23217 Village Road, Unionville, Virginia 22567.

Jerry Davis
Jerry (Chucky) Davis, 40, of Orange, died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville. Born October 2, 1962 in Charlottesville, he was a son of Hazel Davis of Orange and the late Lewis Davis. Mr. Davis was also preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Bennett.
In addition to his mother, survivors include two sons, Austin L. and William E. Davis of Orange; four sisters, Gail Alley of Unionville, Glena Coffey of Shenandoah, Tammy Higginbotham of Orange, and Tina Cooper of Louisa; one brother, Gary Davis of Orange, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, at 11 a.m. at Preddy Funeral Chapel, Orange, with the Rev. Jeff White officiating. Interment will follow at North Pamunkey Baptist Church Cemetery, Lahore. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9 at Preddy Funeral Home.
Pallbearers named are Harold May, Jr., Tony Kennon, Charles Bennett, Preston Hawkins, Jr., Donnie Lane and Willard Cooper.

Thomas W. Jenkins
Thomas William Jenkins, 60, of Orange, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at his residence. Born April 25, 1942, in Washington, D.C., he was a son of Mable Reva Jenkins and the late George W. Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins spent the majority of his working life as a plumber and for 45 years was well-known throughout the area as Tommy the plumber.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife and good friend for over 16 years, Gayla M. Jenkins; a son, William Allen Jenkins of Redwood Valley, California and two daughters, Teresa Lynn Jenkins and her significant other, Johnny (Beau) Rogers of Unionville and Patricia Christian of Beatty, Oregon; four grandchildren, Katlyn, Jonathan, Misty and Heather and husband, Eugene; one great-grandchild, Little Gene; four brothers, Donnie L. Jenkins and wife, Wanda, of Reva, Kenny Wayne Jenkins and wife, Annie (Boo), of Culpeper, Charles Nelson (Butch) Jenkins and wife, Nancy, of Centreville and James Edward (Buck) Jenkins and wife, Nancy, of Hagerstown, Maryland; two sisters, Brenda Jean Bowers and husband, Junior, and Linda Ann White and husband, Joe, of Culpeper; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and other loved ones, especially the beloved family dog, Baby.
A graveside funeral service was held April 9, at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Everett McCormick officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Rapidan, P. O. Box 1715, Culpeper, Virginia 22701.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Lewis M. May
Lewis Marshall (Wootsie) May, 81, of Charlottesville, formerly of Barboursville, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, in Trinity Mission, Charlottesville. Born January 16, 1922, in Burnley, Albemarle County, he was a son of the late Oppie J. May and Eula Edwards May. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Alvin and Benny May and two sisters, Gertrude May Trader and Bernice May Bryant.
Surviving are two sisters, Blanche May Burks and Evelyn May Kane, both of Richmond; a brother, Linwood Lee (Linnie) May of Charlottesville; a nephew, Michael Bryant and two nieces, Betty Burks Dorn and Pamela Burks Smalley, all of Richmond.
A graveside funeral service was held April 6, in Maplewood Cemetery, Gordonsville, officiated by Pastor Carmon Hartsfield.
Preddy Funeral Home, Gordonsville, was in charge of arrangements.

Sharon McLeod
Sharon McLeod, 62, of Spotsylvania, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital. Mrs. McLeod worked for Automatic Rolls of Virginia Company until she retired. She was a member of Goshen Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, going to the library and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, William E. McLeod; a daughter, Pamela B. Roberson of Greenville, South Carolina; four sons, Russell Branham of Columbia, South Carolina, Linder (Stoney) Branham of Fredericksburg, William E. McLeod IV of Chandler, Arizona and Joseph A. McLeod of Spotsylvania; her mother, Hazel C. Bostic of Waynesboro; four sisters, Nancy Embree of Waynesboro, Barbara Fromley of Hampton, Nancy Messer and Debbie Reynolds, both of Elkins, West Virginia; two brothers, James Gallihugh of Orange and Howard McDowell of Ashland; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held March 25, at Good Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hodgen, the Rev. Mike Nickle and the Rev. Howard McDowell officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Research, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, Virginia 23060 or Hospice Support Care, Inc., 2219 Lafayette Blvd., Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401.

Cornelia H. Proffitt
Cornelia Neff Highlander Proffitt, 84, died April 7, 2003, at Culpeper Regional Hospital. Born November 16, 1918, in Orange County, she was a daughter of the late Ewell and Lucy Morris Brookman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two husbands, Lucian Highlander and Wilbert Proffitt. Mrs. Proffitt was a member of the Ladies of the Moose, a secretary for Collinswood Community Center, a member of American Ladies Bowling Association, a former manager of a local retail store and belonged to the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty H. Hughes and husband, Royce, of Orange and Pam L. Highlander of Charlottesville; a son, Lucian Phillip Highlander, Jr. and wife Tina, of Carollton, Texas; a sister, Martha B. Harp of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, April 11, at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Unionville, with Dr. Stanley Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends anytime at the home of Betty and Royce Hughes, 12206 Melton Road, Orange.
Preddy Funeral Home, Orange, is in charge of arrangements.

Howard J. Seyffer
Howard John Seyffer, 85, of Charlottesville, died unexpectedly Monday, March 24, 2003, at University of Virginia Medical Center. Born January 9, 1918, in Brooklyn, New York, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ada Marshall Seyffer and his parents, Charles John Seyffer and Louise Hummel Seyffer. Mr. Seyffer spent his high school years in Shaker Heights, Ohio and graduated from Colgate University, Hamilton, New York in 1940, was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II.
Mr. Seyffer began his career with Ford Motor Company in Jacksonville, Florida and opened his own Ford dealership in Pittsfield, Maine in 1946. Seyffer Ford was a popular and successful dealership and a great source of pride to him and his family. He was a man of faith and served as a deacon at First Church of Christ, Congregational, where he was a member of the choir. He was president of Country Club of Pittsfield in 1961.
He retired and moved to Sanibel, Florida in 1978, was active in the Nutmeg Village Condo Association, serving as treasurer for several terms. In 1998, he and his wife, Ada, moved to Westminster-Canterbury to be near their children. He assumed the role of chairman of the Christmas Fund and served for three years. He worshipped at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Charlottesville.
Mr. Seyffer was a devoted husband and father and was well loved in the community. He had a smile for and an interest in everyone he met, loved the game of golf and was an avid walker with a purposeful stride, enjoyed music and loved to sing harmony and he met each day with a cheerful attitude. Most of all, he enjoyed his family and cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In the four and a half years he resided at Westminster-Canterbury, Mr. Seyffer found the community to be caring and supportive of both his wife and himself. He treasured the friendships he made with neighbors and staff alike. His family express deep gratitude to the entire community at WCBR.
Survivors include five children, daughters, Barbie Renton and Peggy and husband, Peter Rice, all of Madison, Marty and husband, Buzz Van Santvoord and Ada Patterson, all of Orange and a son, Charlie Seyffer and Bonnie Bailey of Rochelle; 11 grandchildren, Suzi and Chris Martin, Mollie and Will Seyffer, Peter and Maggie Rice, Darcy Baker, Tobey, Emily and Hart Van Santvoord and Martha Patterson and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held April 6, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Rugby Road, Charlottesville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster-Canterbury Christmas Fund, 250 Pantops Mountain Road, Charlottesville, Virginia 22911. This fund is set up to reward the staff for all they contribute to make Westminster-Canterbury the special and caring place that it is.

Peggy Vincil
Peggy Vincil, 52, of Orange, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at University of Virginia Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements by Preddy Funeral Home, Orange, are incomplete.
