Various ARKANSAS Obituaries for December 1995

BATESVILLE -- Theodore T. Thorn, 89, Batesville, died Sunday. Services are 1 p.m., today, in Calvary Baptist Church. Burial in Locust Grove Cemetery. Arrangements by Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. Survivors include wife, Anna Thorn; daughter, Linda L. Shetterly of Knoxville, Tennessee; and two grandchildren.

BISMARCK -- Janey Lorene Trammel, 71, died Saturday, December 16, 1995, at the St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Hot Springs. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., today, December 19, 1995, at the Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery at Amity.

CROSSETT -- Buford R. Keene, 79, of Crossett, died Sunday, December 17, 1995, in El Dorado. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 20, 1995, at 10 a.m., at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.

DERMOTT -- Mrs. Hazel J. Bullock, 73, of Dermott, died Saturday, December 16, 1995, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. Graveside funeral services and interment are 2 p.m., today, December 19, 1995, in the Dermott Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg, Inc.

DOVER -- Orville G. Eubanks, age 83, of Dover died Sunday. Funeral: 10 a.m., today, Dover Church of Christ. Burial: North New Hope Cemetery by Shinn Funeral Service, Russellville. Survivors: wife, Kathleen; three sons, John, Joe, and James Eubanks; one step-son Tom Byers; one step-daughter, Ronna Roberts; and 15 grandchildren.

EUDORA -- Christell Felts Griffis, 78, died December 16, 1995. Survivors are: son, Claude Griffis; sister, Sallie Ball; three brothers, Mack Ball, Sr., Fred Felts, Jr., Walker Felts; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral service: today, 2 p.m., Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, Oak Grove. Interment, Kilbourne Cemetery under the direction of Steele Funeral Home.

FORT SMITH -- Audry M. Hall, 74, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, formerly of Blue Mountain, Arkansas, died December 18, 1995. Graveside service and burial at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, December 20th, 1995 in the Little Vine Cemetery, Blue Mountain, Arkansas, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home, Paris.

FORT SMITH -- William Gideon Lockhart, was born December 9, 1927, in Little Rock, Arkansas. His parents were the late Ira Gideon and Elizabeth (O'Driscoll) Lockhart of McGehee, Arkansas. He attended parochial schools in Arkansas and Louisiana and received his B.S. from the University of Arkansas and his M.D. from the University of Arkansas Medical School; served his internship at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana; served his residency in general surgery at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver; did his neurology residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Denver and his neurological surgery residency at the Casa Institute-Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Lockhart served as a Captain in the United States Air Force and received the Bronze Star for duty in Korea. He was a member of the Sebastian County Medical Society, the Arkansas Medical Society, the American Medical Association, and has published scientific papers. In addition, he was certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the International College of Neurological Surgeons. Dr. Lockhart served as the regional consultant in neurosurgery for the following: Department of Health, Education and Welfare; Veterans Administration; Arkansas Crippled Children's Program; United States Department of Public Health; Bureau of Indian Affairs; United States Army; Arkansas Department of Vocational Rehabilitation and Public Welfare.
He was a member of the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce and past president of the Town Club and Hardscrabble Country Club; was on the staff of Sparks Regional Medical Center, St. Edward Mercy Medical Center, and Crawford County Memorial Hospital. He was a partner in Holt-Krock Clinic where he practiced neurological surgery. He joined the staff of Holt-Krock Clinic in 1962 after coming from St. Joseph, Missouri, where he practiced for three years. For years, Dr. Lockhart was the only Neurosurgeon located between Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Little Rock, Arkansas.
Dr. Lockhart was married to Carla Elisabeth Ford. They have four children: Dana Elisabeth Cruz of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Melissa Lynne Lockhart of Mesa, Arizona, Anne Kerry Lockhart of Fort Smith, Arkansas, W. Kirby Lockhart of Little Rock, Arkansas. He is also survived by one brother: Thomas Kirby Lockhart of Decatur, Georgia; and two granddaughters: Audrey Elisabeth Lockhart of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Sara Elisabeth Cruz of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Dr. Lockhart died December 17 in his home at the age of 68. Funeral service is 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 20, 1995, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Fort Smith, with burial at Forest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

HAMBURG -- Jona Myrick, 82, of Hamburg, died Sunday, in the VA Hospital in Little Rock. He was retired service manager for Coca Cola, a member of the Gardner Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., today, at the Gardner Baptist Church. Burial will be in Flat Creek Cemetery by Stephenson-Dearman.
