Floyd Raffanelli

Floyd Raffanelli, 76, died Wednesday at 6:17 a.m. in his residence at 210 Chestnut St., West Reading.
His wife, Anna E. (Baragone) Raffanelli, died Feb. 14, 1988.
Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Giovinna (DeGambala) Raffanelli.
Raffanelli was employed for 44 years by Birdsboro Steel Corp., retiring as a foreman.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was awarded the Bronze Star.
Raffanelli was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.
He was a life member of the Victor Emmanuel II Beneficial Society, Reading; West Reading Fire Company; and the West Reading Beneficial Association.
Surviving are three daughters: Jennifer A. (Raffanelli) Blatt, West Reading; Joann (Raffanelli) DiBiase, Spring Township; and Patricia A. (Raffanelli) Murray, Centre Township.
Other survivors include a brother, John, West Reading; and three sisters: Annie (Raffanelli) Gaspari, Bern Township; Rose (Raffanelli) Winkelman, West Reading; and Angie (Raffanelli) Natoli, Reading.
There are also three grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, a great-grandson and a stepgreat-grandson.
Services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.
Pamela J. Kio

Pamela J. Kio, 43, of 560 S. Reading Road, Ephrata, formerly of Reading, died of natural causes Nov. 7 in Ephrata Community Hospital.
She was the wife of Eldon D. Kio.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of Lauri (Bliesath) Milligan Guziak, Titusville, Fla., and the late Carl F. Milligan.
Kio was employed by Pepperidge Farms, Denver, Lancaster County.
She is also survived by a son, Michael K. Garman, Leola, Lancaster County; and a daughter, Jolene M. Garman, at home.
Other survivors include a stepson, Brandon Kio, and a stepdaughter, Sonya Kio, both at home.
There are also a brother, Keith Milligan, Denver; a twin sister, Patricia K. (Milligan) Kauffman, Reamstown, Lancaster County; and a stepbrother, Carl Milligan, Wernersville.
Services were Nov. 10 in the Stradling Funeral Homes, Akron, Lancaster County. Burial was in Mount Zion Evangelical Cemetery, Akron.
Vi Brubaker

Vi Brubaker, 80, of 421-423 Main St., Denver, Lancaster County, died Sunday at 4:55 p.m. in Ephrata Manor, where she had resided since Aug. 20.
Her husband, Dr. Jacob H. Brubaker, died Feb. 20.
Born in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Lynn and Catharine (Fredericks) Crowding.
A registered nurse, she assisted her husband in his private medical practice in Denver from 1945 to 1984.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Denver.
Brubaker was a graduate of Lewisburg High School and the Jefferson Nursing School, Philadelphia.
Surviving is a son, Dr. William H., Boulder, Colo.
Other survivors include two sisters, Catharine (Crowding) Cole, Lake Forest, Ill., and Barbara (Crowding) Crago Delisle, Greenfield, Mass.
There is also a granddaughter.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Denver. The Roseboro Funeral Home, Denver, is in charge of arrangements.
Martha E. Weller

Martha E. Weller, 95, formerly of Hyde Crest, died Wednesday at 12:05 a.m. in the Lutheran Home at Topton, where she had resided three years.
Her husband, Earl W. Weller, died June 10, 1967.
Born in Centralia, Columbia County, she was a daughter of the late John R. and Laura M. (Campbell) White.
Surviving are a son, Earl R., Emmaus, Lehigh County; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 11 am. in Bean Funeral Home Inc., Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
Jade M. Brown

Jade Marie Brown, daughter of Andre and Fanee (Moore) Brown, of 340 N. Fifth St. was stillborn Monday at 6:02 p.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center.
She is also survived by two brothers, Andre Keyes, Philadelphia, and Destin Brown, Reading; and a sister, Nadrea Keyes, Philadelphia.
Other survivors include her paternal grandmother, Sally Brown, Philadelphia; her maternal grandparents, Eugene and Valerie Booth, Exeter Township; and her maternal grandfather, Russell Moore, Reading.
There are also her paternal great-grandmother, Tempie Brown, Philadelphia; and her maternal great-grandmother, Fannie L. Haynes, Reading.
Services and burial will be private. Whelan, Fleischmann & Schwartz Funeral Homes Inc., Exeter Township, is in charge of arrangements.
Virginia M.S. Neider

Virginia M. Sweigart Neider, 85, formerly of 1045 N. Fifth St., died Wednesday at 4:38 p.m. in her residence at 934 Woodward Drive, Bern Township.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Ammon H. Sweigart, in 1946, and by her second husband, Adam F. Neider, in 1990.
Born in Hamburg, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Edith (Faust) Keiser.
Surviving are two sons, Stewart R. Sweigart, with whom she last resided, and Randolph C. Neider, Reading.
Other survivors include a brother, Frank Keiser, Lander, Wyo.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Robert R. Brown

Robert R. Brown, 69, of 2528 Reading Blvd., West Wyomissing, died Wednesday at 8:04 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since Nov. 3.
He was the husband of Marilyn M. (Heckman) Brown.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Ralph E. and Dorothy (Neff) Brown.
Brown and his wife were the owners-operators of the West Lawn Nursery Kindergarten, for 30 years until his retirement.
A graduate of Reading High School and Albright College, he received his master's degree from Temple University, Philadelphia.
Brown was an Air Force veteran.
He is also survived by two daughters, Lori A. (Brown) Corbett, Audubon, Montgomery County, and Nancilyn A. Brown, Wyomissing; and a son, Ralph R., Newtown, Bucks County.
Other survivors include seven grandchildren.
Graveside services will be private in Charles Evans Cemetery. The Bean Funeral Home, Sinking Spring, is in charge of arrangements.
Joseph D. Jacobs

Joseph D. Jacobs, 91, formerly of Reading, died Tuesday at 10:10 p.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., West Reading, where he had resided one month.
He had previously resided at Stabon Manor, 1555 Haak St., before going to ManorCare.
His wife, Bebe (Kershner) Jacobs, died in August 1995.
Born in St. Joseph, Mo., he was a son of the late Samuel and Rose (Malinkoff) Jacobs.
Jacobs was the owner-operator of Jay Cobbs Hat Shop, Reading, for many years, until his retirement.
He attended Drexel University, Philadelphia.
Jacobs was a volunteer at the Genesius Theatre, the Community Players of Reading and Green Hills Playhouse.
Surviving is a daughter, Evelyn Jacobs, Reading.
Other survivors include a sister, Ruth (Jacobs) Wenger, Philadelphia.

Joyce D. Herman

Joyce D. Herman, 69, died of natural causes Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in her residence at 505 Overview Drive, Tilden Township.
She was the wife of David E. Herman.
Born in Preakness, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Harold W. and Dorothy (Birchinoff) James.
Herman is also survived by a son, David E. Jr., Tilden Township; and a daughter, Gail J. (Herman) Coulson, Lakewood, N.J.
Other survivors include two sisters, Claire (James) Byle, Martinsville, Ind., and Shirley (James) Byle, San Jose, Calif.; and a brother, Harold James, St. Augustine, Fla.
There are also four grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Hamburg. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
Helen G. Pickard

Helen G. Pickard, 91, of 49 Rim View Lane, Cumru Township, died Tuesday at 1:26 p.m. in Mifflin Center, Cumru Township, where she had resided since Oct. 28.
Her husband, Edward Pickard, died Aug. 1, 1973.
Born in Cardington, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Dexter and May (Williams) Babson.
Pickard was a member of the LaPorte (Ohio) United Methodist Church.
She was a volunteer for 16 years at the Elyria (Ohio) UM Nursing Home.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Pickard) Elton, with whom she resided, and Nora (Pickard) Tattersall, Elyria.
Other survivors include three brothers; Al Babson, Bonita Springs, Fla.; Dan Babson, Highland, Calif.; and Roger Babson, Columbus, Ohio.
There are also six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in LaPorte UM Church. Burial will be in LaPorte Cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of local arrangements.
Catharine S. Erb

Catharine S. Erb, 93, formerly of Reading, died Tuesday morning in Spruce Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, West Reading.
She was predeceased by her husband, C. Russel Erb.
Born in Exeter Township, she was a daughter of the late Lizzie M. (Hassler) Trout.
Erb was a life master bridge player.
Surviving is a half brother, Chester J. Trout, Reading.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Auman Funeral Home, Reiffton. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
Christian A. Dech

Christian A. Dech, 26, was pronounced dead of natural causes Tuesday at 5:52 p.m. in his residence at 27 S. Ninth St.
Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of Roy B. Dech, Wyomissing, and Patricia A. (Haraczka) Dech, Mohnton.
Dech had been employed part-time for three years as a cook by Arby's Roast Beef, Wyomissing, and for four months by Boston Market, Muhlenberg Township, last working Saturday at Arby's.
He is also survived by two sisters, Charity A. Dech, Reading, and Melna T. Dech, Pottstown; and a brother, Roy B. Dech II, Limerick, Montgomery County.
Other survivors include his stepmother, Kathy M. (Ziegenfuss) Dech, Wyomissing.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Montgomery County. Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Sinking Spring, is in charge of arrangements.
Paul Dolinsky

Paul Dolinsky, 74, died Wednesday at 12:05 a.m. in his residence at 618 Lawrence Ave., Lincoln Park.
He was the husband of Sonja (Spolski) Dolinsky.
Born in Crabtree, Westmoreland County, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Eva (Barna) Dolinsky.
Dolinsky was employed for 40 years as a needle straightener by Berks Textile Co., Gibraltar, and Chima Inc., Reading, retiring in 1991.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Dolinsky was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Reading.
He was a life member of the Ukrainian American Social Club.
Dolinsky is also survived by three daughters: Stephanie M. (Dolinsky) Zientek and Susan E. (Dolinsky) Miller, both of Reading; and Sharon A. (Dolinsky) Chriswell, Portland, Ore.
Other survivors include three brothers: Michael, Stanley and Pete, all of Reading.
Also surviving are four sisters: Kitty (Dolinsky) Kollar, Ann (Dolinsky) Tacyn and Sophie (Dolinsky) Wloczewski, all of Reading; and Rose (Dolinsky) Reider, Allentown.
There are also six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Gallman Funeral Home Inc. A Divine Liturgy will be observed at 10:30 a.m. in Nativity BVM Ukrainian Church. Burial will be in the church Cemetery, Cumru Township.
Kenneth C. Daniels

Kenneth C. Daniels, 72, of 228 Cedar St. died Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since Feb. 12.
He was the husband of Dolores L. (Brestle) Daniels.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late George W. and Flossie M. (Hicks) Daniels.
Daniels was last employed 20 years as a mechanic by Prestolite Co., Muhlenberg Township.
He was a Navy veteran.
Daniels is also survived by two daughters, Ruth M. (Daniels) Schock, Reading, and Patricia M. Daniels, Wilmington, Del.; and two sons: Edward K., Wyomissing, and Kevin S., Reading.
Other survivors include a brother, James M., Pottstown, and two grandchildren.

Bertha Reigel

Bertha Reigel, 101, formerly of Jonestown, Lebanon County, died Friday in United Christian Church Home, North Annville Township, Lebanon County.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond N. Reigel.
Born in Rutherford Heights, Dauphin County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Annie (Hocker) Eshenour.
Reigel was a member of Ono United Methodist Church, Lebanon County.
Surviving are two sons, Lloyd J., Ono, and Richard D., Myerstown, and two daughters: Mary J. (Reigel) Eaken, Bernville, and Janet M. (Reigel) Yiengst, Lebanon.
Other survivors include a brother, Lloyd Eshenour, in Maryland.
There are also nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Mabel Reigel. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the United Christian Home. Burial will be in Ono Cemetery. The Strauss-Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home, Jonestown, is in charge of arrangements.
