Larry Wells
Larry Duane Wells, 47, a resident of Mayer, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, in Prescott.
He was born Feb. 15, 1952, in Torrance, Calif., to Thomas and Betty (Butcher) Wells.
Mr. Wells, who moved to Arizona from California 14 years ago, was a truck driver.
He married Cheryl Sullivan June 26, 1991, in Mayer. He was a member of the Chosen Few Motorcycle Club.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl of Mayer; son, Guy of El Monte, Calif.; daughters, Sarah Wells, also of El Monte, and Christina Wells of Mayer; mother, Betty Wells of Whittier, Calif.; brother, Gary of Phoenix; sisters, Patricia Santos of Long Beach, Calif., Janice McDow of Whittier, Calif., Tommie Wells of Norwalk, Calif., Carol Staley of Tucson, and Karen Butler of Lakewood, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Spring Valley, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.

Mark Milne-Jones
Mark David Milne-Jones, 31, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, in Walker.
He was born Aug. 20, 1967, in Ballard, Wash., to David and Joyce Milne-Jones.
Mr. Milne-Jones and his wife, Michelle, were married on July 1, 1995, in Liberty, Wash. He was a member of the Buzzard Pak, a four-wheel drive club, in Washington. He worked at Professional Chemical in Prescott. He was an excellent husband, loving father and a good friend.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle; son, Cole; and daughter, Angela, all of Prescott; and his mother, Joyce Knatz of Lynnwood, Wash.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the family home in Walker.

Pearl Burris
Pearl "Mom" Burris, 102, of Cottonwood, died Monday, May 31, 1999.
She was born March 1, 1897, in Holt, Mo.
Mrs. Burris had many varied occupations during her life, having worked as a farmer and as a farm cook, and she was an extremely talented seamstress. For many years, she was employed by Marlers Draperies in Prescott, making customized window dressings.
She loved children, and was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She devoted many hours to the care of children and people in her church. She was a wonderful cook, and will be remembered for her special desserts.
Mrs. Burris was a member of the Cottonwood Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include her son, Claude of Cottonwood; daughter, Doris Kohls of El Paso, Texas; nine grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William; son, Hobart; and infant daughter, Wilta.
Private family services will be held.
Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.

Helen Kainz
Helen M. Kainz, 92, died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, in Prescott.
She was born April 9, 1907, in Vienna, Austria, to Robert and Hermine Pitlik.
Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Kloss of Prescott and Kathy Richardson of Huntington Beach, Calif.; brother, Robert of Austria; sister, Frieda Stifsohn of Austria; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son, Charles, on Feb. 26, 1999.
Private family services were held.

William Pinney
William L. Pinney, 71, died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 15, 1927, in Phoenix to Tucker Lee and Patricia (Tharaldson) Pinney. He was a second generation Arizonan, as his father was also born in Phoenix before statehood.
Mr. Pinney owned Pinney and Robinson Sporting Goods store in Phoenix, which was founded by his grandfather in 1887.
His first home in Prescott was in 1976 in the Mountain Club. He and his wife made Prescott their full-time home in 1978. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Phoenix Sportsman Association. He loved the outdoors, working in his garden, and flying. He was proudest of his family and their accomplishments.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, whom he married Sept. 11, 1949; daughters, Betsy Pinney and Nancy Cook, both of Prescott, and Ann Parker of Boise, Idaho; sister, Plinette Epps of Sandy, Utah; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A gathering of friends will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez St.
Private cremation will be at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.

Frances Moore
Frances Irene Moore, 77, of Chino Valley, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, in a private care facility in Mesa, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 7, 1922, in Gilbert to John A. and Cora M. (Merrell) Hatch.
At an early age, Mrs. Moore moved with her family to Chino Valley, where she attended elementary school, and later graduated from Prescott High School. Following her graduation from high school, she worked for the telephone company in Phoenix.
She was a sports enthusiast, and played softball for several years with the Prescott Nuggets. She and her husband O.D. "David" loved sports and could be seen regularly at City Park during the summer, cheering on their favorite softball teams.
Mrs. Moore began working for the Chino Valley School District, in the elementary school cafeteria, in March 1966. She later became head cook. The students loved the fresh-baked bread that she made daily. She retired after her husband's death in 1984.
Her interests included music, quilting, knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Kovacs of Hawthorne, Nev., Tony Kovacs of Sierra Vista, and Jeff Moore of Prescott; sisters, Mary Britt of Mesa and Jean Payne of Virden, N.M.; 26 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chino Valley West Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 441 W. Perkinsville Road. Visitation will precede the service at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in the Chino Valley Cemetery.

Jerry Sipes
Jerry A. Sipes, 38, a former resident of Bagdad, died Saturday, May 29, 1999.
He was born March 22, 1961, in Phoenix to Robert and Katherine (Conley) Sipes.
Mr. Sipes was raised in Bagdad, and attended Bagdad High School. He lived in the Bagdad/Hillside area until 1991.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Kathy of Ash Fork; sisters, Dana of Forest Lakes and Lisa of New Hampshire; and his grandmother.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Memory Chapel Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave. A visitation will be one hour prior to service at 10 a.m.

Robert Kennedy
Robert Eugene Kennedy, 60, of Chino Valley died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at the Prescott Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
He was born July 30, 1938, in Fort Morgan, Colo., to Orlo Arnold Kennedy and Violet Lucille (McLaughlin) Kennedy.
Mr. Kennedy worked as a general contractor and carpenter for nearly 30 years in Arizona and California.
He served in the U.S. Navy from Nov. 30, 1955, to July 29, 1959. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Chino Valley Ward. He was a member of the Carpenters Union in California, and was a member of the Eagles. He enjoyed hunting, gold mining, and collecting rifles and knives.
Survivors include his wife, Janice, whom he married Jan. 25, 1965; daughters, Robin Kennedy of Citrus Heights, Calif., and Diana Polstin of Vista, Calif.; son, Michael of Santa Ana, Calif.; brother, William of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; sister, Joanne Williams of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Private cremation services will be held at the Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel.
The Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home helped the family with arrangements.
