CHURCH HILL - A.J. Davis Jr., 70, 407 W. Main Blvd., died Friday (June 14, 2002) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was a member of Fisher's Creek Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from Tennessee Eastman as a mechanic.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Johnson and Grace Hickman Davis Sr.; one sister, Mickey Williams; and brother, Alp Davis.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Frost Davis, of the home; two daughters, Darlene Bruner and husband, Leroy, Rogersville, Leslie Bruner and husband, Gregory, Church Hill; four sons, Tommy Davis and wife, Lois, Surgoinsville, Tony Davis and wife, Karen, Church Hill, Michael Davis and wife, Sandy, Greeneville, Jerry Davis and wife, Valerie, Rogersville; one sister, Juanita Housewright, Rogersville; three brothers, Fred Davis, Rogersville, Bill Davis and George Davis, both of Mount Carmel; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

KINGSPORT - Mr. Claude Dooley, 70, entered into rest on Thursday (June 13, 2002) at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tenn.
Mr. Dooley was born in Scott County, Va. on June 12, 1932, son of the late George and Lottie Mae Sluss Dooley.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1952-1954. He retired from AFG in 1994 after 38 years of service. He was an avid handyman known in the community for helping others, always there when needed.
In addition to his parents, his sister, Betty Dooley and three brothers, Denver and Hubert Dooley and Coy Sluss preceded him in death.
Surviving Mr. Dooley is his wife, Eunice Dooley, Kingsport, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Chris Rouse, Blountville, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, Dustin Scott and Autumn Dooley, Kingsport, Tenn.; grandchildren, Chase Rouse, Morgan LeBlanc and Hunter Dooley; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kingsley United Methodist Church and other times at the residence.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today at the church with the Rev. Raymond Amos officiating. Trista Ragsdale will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Va.
The family will be meeting at the cemetery for the graveside service.
