Puckett
Charles Clarence "Mouse" Puckett, age 81, died Wednesday, February 19, 1997 in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon.
He was a native of Russell County, VA and had lived most of his life in Washington County. He was a member of Mount Carmet Christial Church.
Survivors include three sons, Zane Puckett, Hayes, VA, Dave Puckett, Glade Spring, VA, and Joe Puckett, Emory, VA; three daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Crane, Newport News, VA, Mrs. Rosylyn Parks, Richmond, VA, and Mrs. Debbie Alexander, Glade Spring, VA; three brothers, Arch Puckett, Bristol, VA, Turner Puckett, Pearisburg, VA, and Gene Puckett, Dover, DE; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Farris Funeral Service, Abingdon, is in charge.

Richardson
Mabel Ferguson Richardson, age 91, died Tuesday, February 18, 1997 in the Smyth County Community Hospital.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Loyette and Daniel A. Blevins of Marion, VA; two sisters, Mrs. Bobby (Joan) Atkins of Marion, VA and Mrs. Quinton (Charlotte) Blevins of Fairfax, VA; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, February 21 in Barnett's Funeral Home Chapel with John D. Tilson officiating. Burial followed in South Fork Cemetery.
Barnett's Marion Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.

Shazier
Eric Michael Shazier, age 18 months old, died Monday, February 17, 1997.
He is survived by his paternal grandfather, Franklin E. Shazier of Chilhowie, VA; his paternal grandmother, Veronica Shuff White of Columbus, Ohio; one uncle, Franklin A. (Tony) Shazier of Chilhowie, VA; and one great-great aunt, Margaret White of Chilhowie, VA. He was preceded in death by his father, Eric Miguel Shazier and his mother, Michelle Renee Olson.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, February 20, 1997 at the First Baptist Church of Chilhowie with Minister Stephen Fields, Rev. Kenneth Carter, Sr., Rev. Johnny Lee Johnson, Minister Melvin Johnson and Minister Nolan Wolfe officiated. Burial followed in the Chilhowie Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Pete Sturgill, David Preston, Nathaniel Fields, III and John Martin.
Williams Funeral Home, Chilhowie, was in charge of arrangements.

Wininger
Frankie Rogers Wininger, age 96, of 1215 Georgia Avenue, Bristol, TN, died Monday, February 17, 1997 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of Mr. Hal B. Wininger. Together they operated Wininger's Grocery.
She was born in Duffield, VA and lived for most of her life in Bristol. She was a member of Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn Blevins and a grandson, Barry Pugh.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William (Billie) Pugh of Sugar Grove, VA; three granddaughters, Suzy E. Sutton of Bristol, TN, Johnynne B. Lerro of St. Augustine, FL, and Ellen Cooper of Bristol, VA; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wininger were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. Interment followed in Glenwood Cemetery.
Oakley-Cook Funeral Home, Bristol, TN, was in charge of arrangements.

Blevins
Robert Lee Blevins, age 70, of Konnarock, died Friday, Feb. 21, 1997 in Smyth County Community Hospital.
He had lived in Smyth County all his life and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired truck driver for Spector Freight Lines.
He was a member of the VFW Post No. 4667, Marion, and a member of the Moose Lodge, Marion. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Blevins; three daughters, Irma Jackson, Winston-Salem, N.C., Audrey Cozino, Spokane, Wash., and Patricia Blevins, Abingdon; two sons, Robert D. Blevins and Ronald L. Blevins, both of Konnarock; two sisters, Ola McClure, Chilhowie, and Josephine West, Marion; three brothers, Lawrence Blevins, Woodbridge, Charles Blevins and Lloyd Blevins, both of Chilhowie; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, in Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Ray Finley officiating. Burial was in the McDaniel Family Cemetery, Konnarock. Military graveside rites were conducted by the VFW Post No. 4667.
Johnson Funeral Home in Damascus was in charge of arrangements.

Brown
Nancy Josephine "Rose" Brown, age 75, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 1997 at her home in Saltville. She was a member of the Plasterco United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Brown; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Barbara B.) Lee, Lapeer, Mich.; three grandchildren, Mrs. Ronnie (Tammie) Holmes, Emory, Mrs. Duane (Marcy Jo) Erke, Charlotte, N.C., and David I. Lee, Lapeer, Mich.; four great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Glenda Dennison and the Rev. Jack Sprinkle officiating. Burial was in Mount Rose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saltville Rescue Squad or Community Hospice of America, 540 W. Main St., Wytheville, VA 24382.

Doane
Carroll Franklin Doane, age 78, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997 in Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Davidson Doane.
Survivors include five daughters: Ruby Jean Taylor, Troutville, Audrey Bernice Doane, Rhonda Fern Widener and Patricia Irene Gentry, all of Chilhowie, and Shelia Grey Doane, Marion; four brothers, Ronald Doane, Saltville, Gordon Doane, Chilhowie, Clyde Doane, Woodbine, Md., and Doug Doane, Abingdon; five sisters: Lillian Cooper, Marion, Mamie Harris and Shirley Coe, both of Saltville, Anna LiCausi, Chilhowie, and Louise Hinkson, Clarksville, Md.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Jones officiating. A military graveside service was conducted in Rich Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery by the Saltville VFW Post No. 7328.

Fullen
Roy Lee Fullen, age 53, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 1997 at his home in Saltville. He was a member of the UMWA for 15 years.
Survivors include four sons, Scott Fullen and Roy Fullen Jr., both of Saltville, Brian Fullen, Bristol, and Timothy Fullen, Abingdon; one daughter, Paula Olinger, Radford; three brothers, Bill Fullen and Allen Fullen, both of Saltville, and H.C. Jack Fullen, Hampton; four sisters, Sadie Call, Glade Spring, Stella Surber, Agnes Grant and Peggy Montgomery, all of Saltville; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kyle French officiating. Burial was in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Henegar
Karl Albert Henegar, age 86, died Monday, Feb. 24, 1997 at his home in Saltville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Stella S. Henegar; one sister, Louise Harrison, Roanoke; several nieces and nephews
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 26, in the Elizabeth Cemetery with the Rev. Scott A. Robertson-Gouge officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Saltville VFW Post No. 7328.

Holmes
Evelyn (Allison) Holmes, age 74, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1997 in Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie. She was the widow of Raymond H. Holmes.
Survivors include one stepson, Raymond H. Holmes Jr., Broadford; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Curtis (Sue) Gillespie, Rich Valley, and Mrs. John W. (Ella Mae) Harris, Broadford; one brother, Chester Allison, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Delores Holmes, Broadford; six step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, in the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Benny Frye officiating. Burial was in the Mount Rose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saltville Rescue Squad.

Lambert
Trula Grady Lambert, age 99, of Bluefield, W.Va., died Friday, Feb. 21, 1997 in the Glenwood Park Village Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was the widow of Paris Harvey Lambert and was also preceded in death by a son, John Grady Lambert in 1994.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harry E. (Mary) Danielson of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Mrs. George W. (Dottie) Kiser of Marion; two sons, Paris Harvey Lambert Jr. of Tampa, Fla., and James Ernest Lambert of Virginia Beach; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. at the Craven-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, W.Va., with the Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial followed in the Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Bluefield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion Baptist Church, 1238 North Main St., Marion, VA 24354.

Moser
Charles Baker Moser, age 82, died Monday, Feb. 24, 1997 in Smyth County Community Hospital.
Mr. Moser was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. He was the former president of the Carpenters Union Local 176 and served on the Virginia State AFL/CIO Executive Board. He also worked for the West Virginia State Apprenticeship Council.
Survivors include his wife, Eliza Pickle Moser, Chilhowie; one daughter, Linda Moser McClure, Chilhowie; two sons, James E. Moser, DeBary, Fla., and Gene Moser, Taylors, S.C.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m. in Barnett's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Otis Barker and the Rev. Avery Sheets officiating. Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Patterson
Daisy Woodward Patterson, age 73, of Burgin, Ky., died Sunday, Feb. 23, 1997 in Ephraim McDowell Medical Center, Danville, Ky. She was the widow of G.B. Patterson Jr.
Mrs. Patterson was a native of Saltville and a homemaker. She was a member of the Burgin Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Judy) Carey, Harrodsburg, Ky.; four brothers, David Woodward, Marion, Thomas D. Woodward, Roanoke, John H. Woodward, Halifax, and William K. Woodward, Abingdon; two sisters, Helen Campbell and Mary L. Fields, both of Saltville; one granddaughter; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, in the Ransdell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Geoff Barrett officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Scyphers
Gay Cumbow Scyphers, age 75, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997 at her home in Abingdon.
She was a native of Russell County and had lived most of her life in Washington County. She was a member of Greendale Chapel and was a former employee of People, Inc. She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Cumbow.
Survivors include her husband, Reece Scyphers; three sons, Evan Scyphers, Marion, Cecil Scyphers and David Scyphers, both of Abingdon; two daughters, Delores Jones, Roanoke, and Patty Cochran, Abingdon; two brothers, J.W. Cumbow, Rural Retreat, and Ronald Cumbow, Atkins; four sisters, Pauline Holmes, Abingdon, Alice Cumbow, Bristol, Jean Thompson, Greer, S.C., and Dorothy ReMine, Roanoke; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, in Greendale Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Eggers officiating. Burial was in Knollkreg Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Greendale Chapel, P.O. Box 1314, Abingdon, VA 24312.
