Virginia, U.S., Marriage Records, 1936-2014

Jerry Connor
Jerry Clingman Connor, 57, of Manassas, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, at the Prince William Hospital, after a long battle with emphysema.

He was born in Sylva, N.C., on July 24, 1944 to Frank C. Conner and the late Louise (Wiggins) Conner Close.

He was employed for 22 years at the Vulcan Materials Quarry in Occoquan. Before that, he worked on highway construction, including Dale Boulevard and I-79.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Irvin) Connor, whom he married in 1977; one son, Cody; his father, of Gastonia, N.C.; and two brothers, Jimmy F. Connor and Dennis R. Connor.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., at the Prince of Peace United Methodist Church, 6299 Token Forest Drive, Dale City.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

In lieu of interment, his body has been donated to Duke University, School of Medicine.

Edna Haines
Edna May Sadorus Haines, 83, of Front Royal, formerly of Warrenton, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, at the home of Leroy and Loretta Henry.

She was born May 14, 1919 in Sadorus, Ill., daughter of Warren and Pearl Walsh Sadorus. She moved from Sadorus to the Washington, D.C., area in the 1940s where she was a secretary for the Defense Department. Later in life, she moved to Fauquier County and became a secretary with Tom Frost. She retired from the Fauquier County Health Department. She was a member of Midland United Methodist Church and a former member of the John Marshall Garden Club.

She is survived by her son, Gordon Donald Haines Jr. of Manassas; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at Midland United Methodist Church in Midland, with the Rev. Brian Segal and the Rev. Bill Day officiating. Interment will be at the Craw Cemetery in Sadorus.

Arrangements are by Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Midland United Methodist Church, Midland, VA 22728.

Annie Kipp
Annie Leonard Kipp, 86, of Manassas, died Saturday, July 13, 2002, in Nokesville.

Mrs. Kipp enjoyed bird watching. She was an associate member of the Ladies Auxiliary (Pink Lady) at Prince William Hospital. She retired from the Department of the Army at the Pentagon where she served as a librarian for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roland H. Seeley, who died in 1969; and her second husband, Arthur Kipp, who died in 1988.

Survivors include her niece, Betty Musick and her husband, Jimmy of Nokesville, with whom she resided until her death; several other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Clinton E. Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfax City Cemetery, Fairfax.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Northern Virginia, Prince William Division, 9540 Center St., Manassas, VA 20110, in memory of Annie Leonard Kipp.

Arthur Sampson Jr.
Arthur Carroll Sampson Jr., 56, of Woodbridge, died Saturday, July 13, 2002, at Potomac Hospital.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 162 in Lorton and a member of the Elks Lodge No. 2355.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy K. Sampson of Woodbridge; two sons, Duane C. Sampson and his wife, Patricia, and W. Todd Sampson and his wife, Teresa, all of Stafford; two granddaughters, Rachel and Kaitlyn Sampson; one sister, Cheryl Zacharias of Woodbridge; four brothers, Michael Sampson, Ronnie Sampson and Chris Sampson, all of Woodbridge, and Wayne Sampson of Martinsburg, W.Va.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Mark Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Stafford Memorial Park.

Edward Yaxley
Edward "Ted" Yaxley, 75, of Woodbridge, died Saturday, July 13, 2002, at his home.

He was born June 10, 1927 to Ralph and Ida Yaxley (deceased), in Ridgeway, N.Y., and graduated from Lyndonville High School, Lyndonville, N.Y.

He served in the Navy in World War II in the Pacific area on destroyers. He graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture in 1950.

Mr. Yaxley worked as a Dairy Herd Improvement Association Milk Tester in Orleans County, New York, for several years. He retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Farmers Home Administration in Washington, D.C., in 1997. He was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church and AARP in Woodbridge.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marion (Mary); one daughter, Pamela Yaxley (Ricky) Jackson of Cortland, N.Y.; one brother, Robert (Shirley) Yaxley of Ridgeway; sisters-in-law, Jean (Greg) Ramos of Arbuckle, Calif., Nancy (Don) Brown of Chittenango, N.Y., DeEtta (Donald) Hilts of Eaton, N.Y., Ruth Hotaling of Jamesville, N.Y., Lois Smith of Manlius, and Joyce Hotaling of Chittenango; brother-in-law, Paul (Doris) Hotaling of Jamesville. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Luisa and Jeanette, both of Cortland; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass will be celebrated at our Lady of Angels on Thursday at 10:30 a.m., and a memorial service will be held at St. Margaret's Church in Homer, N.Y., at a later date.

Marie P. Andrews

Marie Palmer Andrews, 50, of Nokesville, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Prince William Hospital, Manassas.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Nokesville; a Cub Scout leader of Pack 1194; a library volunteer at the Nokesville mini library; a teacher in New Jersey; and a substitute teacher at Nokesville Elementary.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, John R. Andrews; two sons, James Parker Andrews and William Adam Andrews, both of the home; and one brother, Jon Palmer of Sewell, N.J.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Guy Hamilton officiating.

Interment will follow at Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Raymond F. Jenkins

Raymond Franklin Jenkins, 85, of Manassas died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Annaburg Manor in Manassas.

He was born in Rappahannock County and was the son of the late Benjamin and Florence Sisk Jenkins.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Benjamin Jenkins; four sisters, Gussie Sisk, Frances Sisk, Alice Sisk and Bertha Jenkins; two brothers, Tom Jenkins and Richard Jenkins; and one stepsister, Laura Sisk.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Frances B. Jenkins; nine children, Florence Belle Atkins of Manassas, Ruth Harris of Remington, John Jenkins of Warrenton, Doris Hensley of Broad Run, Jimmy Jenkins of Sperryville, Ginny Conley of Front Royal, Eugene Jenkins of Remington, Nancy Herring of Catharpin and Edward Jenkins of Manassas; one brother, Billy Jenkins of Lignum; 27 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, where services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, with the Rev. Leo DeLorge and the Rev. Randall Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.

Julia Rotelli

Julia Rotelli, 88, of Lake Ridge, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at Westminster Retirement Community.

Mrs. Rotelli was born in Turtle Creek, Pa., and was a retired saleswoman from Woodward and Lothrope. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Queens in Forestville, Md.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Columbus Carl Rotelli; her parents, Andrew and Josephine Nocivelli; one sister, Mary Magdalene Nocivelli; and one brother, Robert Nocivelli

She is survived by two daughters, Josephine Wells of Hamilton, Ohio, and Mary Rollins of Manassas; one son, Richard Rotelli of Williamstown, N.J.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family received friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 14 at Blasius-Baker Funeral Home, 9320 West St., Manassas, with a rosary at Baker Chapel at 8 p.m., the Rev. James Barkett officiating.

A Mass of Christian Burial was said at noon Dec. 15 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Woodbridge.

Interment was at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 17 at the Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, Md.

Paul H. Baebler

Paul H. Baebler, 64, of Montclair, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Judie Baebler of the home; two daughters, Amy Harvey of Woodbridge and Katherine Burke of Montclair; two sons, David Baebler of Naperville, Ill., and Keith Baebler of Hilton Head, S.C.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 18825 Fuller Heights Road, Triangle. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Saint Francis of Assisi School Scholarship Fund, 18825 Fuller Heights Road, Triangle, VA 22172, in the name of Paul Baebler.

Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William L. Edwards

William Lithgo Edwards, 82, of Manassas, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at Culpeper Health and Rehab Center in Culpeper.

He served in World War II receiving many medals including the World War II Victory Medal and two Bronze Battle Stars medals. He was a member of the Manassas Moose Lodge No. 1380, for which he traveled to state and international conventions. He loved to travel and went to Mooseheart and Moosehaven. He was also a member of the Manassas American Legion Post 10. He loved to dance, garden and work on cars.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth "Libby" Edwards; second wife, Janice Edwards, and one son, Stanley Reedy.

Survivors include his wife, Della Edwards of Manassas; three sons, Wayne Proctor of Bellaire, Fla., Clarence Reedy of Linden and Johnny Reedy of Fredericksburg; six daughters, Ann Hutchinson and Mary Beth Conrad, both of Fredericksburg, Janice Franks of Virginia Beach, Joan Faist and Shirley Caudle, both of Manassas and Nancy Crutchfield of Nokesville; one sister, Katherine Stoddard of Burke; 22 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at National Memorial Park in Falls Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moose Lodge Teen Club, 9305 Brentsville Road, Manassas, VA. 20112, in memory of William Edwards.

Susan M. Key

Susan Marie Key, 60, of Manassas died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elaine (Moran) Key; one brother, Brian Key; and one sister, Maureen Carine.

Survivors include her brothers, George Key, John Key, James Key, Dennis Key and William Key; sisters, Ann Haraburda, Nora Wiemer, Elaine Simmons, Mary Smith, Rita Key and Lois Key. She is also survived by 25 nieces and nephews, 27 great-nieces and nephews and her special great-nephew, Anthony Key.

A memorial service will take place on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas, with the Rev. Joseph Kenna officiating. Interment will be private.

Teresa Kish

Teresa C. "Grace" Kish, 80, of Manassas, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002.

She served for two years as a yeoman with the U. S. Navy Waves during World War II. After retiring from DIA and the U.S. Army Materiel Command, she served as a volunteer for 16 years with the Project Mend-A-House to repair homes for Prince William County senior citizens and handicapped of any age.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Ernest Kish of Manassas; one son, Ernest P. Kish of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Constance D. Cunningham of Slingerlands, N.Y.; one sister, Virginia Ann Bechter of Denver; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at noon at All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas. Interment will be private.

Matthew P. Plutkis

Matthew Paul Plutkis, 5 months, of Stafford, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at Fairfax.

He was born Dec. 17, 2001 in Prince William County and was a member of St. William of York Catholic Church in Stafford.

He is survived by his parents, Michael and Tina Plutkis of Stafford; three sisters, Ashley M. Plutkis, Victoria N. Plutkis and Sarah E. Plutkis, and one brother, Jonathan C. Plutkis, all of the home; paternal grandparents, Charles and Sylvia Plutkis of Spotsylvania; maternal grandparents, Paul and Ida DeZan of Vienna; paternal great-grandmother, Auxilia Svazas of Spotsylvania; maternal great-grandfather, Rocco Siconolfi of Brooklyn, N.Y.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight with a prayer service at 8 p.m., at Mullins & Thompson Stafford Chapel. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. William of York Catholic Church, with interment at Staffod Memorial Park.

Horace Rembert

Horace Rembert, 65, of Dale City, died Saturday, April 27, 2002, at the Riley Memorial Hospital in Meridian, Miss.

He had been a resident of Dale City since 1974 and was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Huguette Rembert of Dale City; two daughters, Deidre Rembert of Birmingham, Ala., and Samantha Rembert of Dale City; one son, Horace Rembert Jr. of Montgomery, Ala.; and nine brothers and sisters in Florida; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on May 30 at 3 p.m. at Fort Myer Chapel, Fort Myer. Interment will follow immediately at Arlington National Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Mountcastle Funeral Home, Dale City.
