Helen M. Onufrock

Helen M. Onufrock, 94, of Charlottesville, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge.

She was born May 20, 1908, in Chicago, the daughter of the late John and Ethel Moore.

Mrs. Onufrock graduated from the University of Chicago and later received her Masters in Social Work from the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

She worked almost continually as a social worker in medical and psychiatric settings in Chicago, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. Later, in Boston, she was a supervisor at Beth Israel Hospital for many years and then the chief social worker at the Marlboro Mental Health Center.

She was on the social work faculties at Case Western, the University of Cincinnati and Simmons College. She was proud of the fact that she worked full-time until age 80. In her retirement she moved to Charlottesville where she briefly did volunteer work with the Charlottesville Department of Social Services.

She was happily married for 36 years to Harry Onufrock, who was a business executive in the greeting card industry, and then the business manager of the Marlboro Mental Health Center. His work took him around the world and they lived for several years in Europe. In her later years, Mrs. Onufrock continued to enjoy travel and took her last major trip to Russia at age 86.

She was extremely fond of gardening and a passionate friend of animals. Her favorite times were the annual family trips to Deer Isle, Maine. She lived her life to the fullest and imparted her spirit of adventure to all her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine Reppucci, and her husband, Dick, of Charlottesville; her son, Jack Onufrock and his wife, Betty, of Shorewood, Wis.; her grandchildren, Nick Reppucci of Charlottesville, John Reppucci of Denver, Anna Reppucci Chapman and her husband, Rusty, and their daughter Marlow, of St. Paul, Minn., Jennifer Onufrock of Shorewood, Wis., and Jonathan Onufrock, of Hamilton, Ohio; as well as her sister Shirley Sholtus of Arcadia, Calif.

She will be much missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Onufrocks family wishes to thank those of Westminster Cantebury Catered Living and Health Care, and Hospice of the Piedmont, (as well as others) who worked so hard to make the last months of her life meaningful and comfortable.

There will be a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Westminster Cantebury of the Blue Ridge, 250 Pantops Mountain Road, Charlottesville.

Frances P. Parsons

Frances Price Parsons of Crozet died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the University Baptist Church, 1223 W. Main St., Charlottesville.

There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Culpeper National cemetery.

Anderson Funeral Service, Crozet, is in charge of arrangements.

Ada M. Seyffer

Ada M. Seyffer, 84, of Charlottesville, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge.

Arrangements with Hill & Wood Funeral Home are incomplete.

Marlene Sheinfeld

A funeral service for Marlene Grant Sheinfeld will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Hill & Wood Chapel, with Pastor Raymond Winters officiating. Interment icon will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to any lung disease association.

Hill & Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley Jean Sullivan

Shirley Jean Sullivan, 59, of Paytes, Spotsylvania County, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

Retired former employee of the Orange County Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Craig Baptist Church in Paytes, with the Rev. John Swain officiating. Interment icon will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Preddy Funeral Chapel, 250 W. Main St., Orange.

Gus K. Tebell Jr.

A graveside service for Gus Kenneth Tebell Jr. will be held at noon Monday at Church of Our Saviour on Rio Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charlottesville/Albemarle Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 160, Charlottesville, Va. 22907, or Church of Our Saviour, 1165 E. Rio Road, Charlottesville, Va. 22901.

Teague Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Lewis C. Armstrong

Lewis Cornell Armstrong, 39, of Bremo Bluff, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Armstrong; his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. George Armstrong Sr. and Mr. & Mrs. Walter Palmer Sr.

He is survived by his parents, the Rev. Ellis and Mary Hill; two sons, Terrence and Jamar; three sisters, Sandra Patterson, Sylvia Tolliver and Valerie Hill; six aunts, Lelia Anderson, Patricia Armstrong, Frances Hill, Delores Armstrong, Phyllis Palmer and Maxine Palmer; five uncles, Jerry Palmer Sr., Phillip Palmer Sr., George Palmer, George Armstrong and Curtis Armstrong; a niece, Demonica Tolliver; two nephews, Brian Armstrong and Corey Patterson; a brother-in-law, David Tolliver, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the West Bottom Baptist Church, Bremo Bluff. Interment icon will be in the Oak Hill cemetery. The Rev. Phillip Carter will officiate.

Friends may call at the Colbert Funeral Home, Bremo Bluff, from noon to 7 p.m., today and Thursday.

Ida Brookman Bishop

Ida Brookman Bishop, 78, of Blenheim, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

She was born June 2, 1924, in Albemarle County, daughter of the late Roberta Brookman Morris. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Bishop; and four brothers, Jack, Albert, Roy and Thomas Morris.

Mrs. Bishop was a beloved friend, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are one son Forrest Daniel "Danny" Bishop and his wife Donna of Charlottesville; three daughters, Jane Carolyn Fitzgerald and her husband Donald of Beechgrove, Victoria "Vicky" Louise Faris and her special friend Warren Loeser of Charlottesville and Sheila Lynn Layne of Blenheim; two sisters, Virginia Harris of Charlottesville and Ruth Napier of Scottsville and one brother Lawrence Morris of Scottsville; six grandchildren, Melissa Mitchell and her husband Gordon; Michael Faris; Danny Bishop, Jr., Dana Bishop; Kim Fitzgerald and Brandon Layne; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Bishop; Rachel, Hannah and Emily Faris and Madisen Morris.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the Doctors at University of Virginia Medical Center and nurses in the TCV Post Op for all their care during Mrs. Bishop's illness.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hill & Wood Chapel with the Rev. Sidney E. Craig officiating. Interment icon will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Lois Carty Flora

A memorial service for Lois Carty Flora will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Chapel at the First Presbyterian Church, Park Street, Charlottesville.

Teague Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Donna Gail Hunt

Donna Gail Hunt, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter F. Hunt Sr. and her mother Gertrude A. Hunt.

She is survived by her brothers, Walter F. Hunt Jr. of Charlottesville, Roger L. Hunt of Charlottesville; her sisters, Brenda Lilly and her husband, Edward of Charlottesville, Linda McClure and her husband, Clarence of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; her grandmother, Ruth Dunnivan; five nieces, Michelle Brown, Tiffany Dunbar, Casey Hunt, Kimberly Lilly and Jennifer Prezioso; several great nieces and nephews; also Donna's other special family, Mama Jean and Edward Boy Nurse Barbour, along with Ruth Ann, Jackie, Shannon and John Wingfield, and Lorraine.

A very special thanks to the staff of the Lynchburg General CCU and Virginia Baptist Mundy 5.

A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Teague Funeral Home. There will be no graveside service.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Teague Funeral Home.

John E. Payne

John Edward Payne, 76, formerly of Palmyra, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven, Conn.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Carter Family cemetery, Palmyra, with the Rev. Phillip Carter officiating. Interment icon will follow.

Patsy Anne Primiani

Patsy Anne Primiani, of Trevilians, formerly of Pebble Beach, Calif., died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital.

She was born Nov. 15, 1925, in Atlanta, Ga., and was the daughter of the late Dr. Milton Sangree Fahrney and Lillian Harris Fahrney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dominick Manuel Primiani, and brother Phil Harris Fahrney.

She is survived by her two sons, Peter Fahrney Primiani and his wife, Barbara Anne Primiani, of Trevilians, and Marc Sangree Primiani of Santa Monica, Calif.; three grandsons, Michael Fahrney Primiani, Matthew Sangree Primiani and Daniel Hubbell Primiani, all of Trevilians; and her dearest cousin, Martha Rahn of Mount Gretna, Pa.

Patsy was a long time member of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, Commodore Sloat Chapter. She loved nature and wildlife and her home in Pebble Beach, Calif., brought nature literally to her doorstep. For many years she was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in San Mateo, Calif.

Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Monterey County, P.O. Box 3058, Monterey, Ca. 93942.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and thanks to the Staff of Martha Jefferson Hospital, including Dr. Alexander Shultz, for the special care and comfort they provided Patsy.

Elizabeth I. Reardon

Elizabeth Inez Reardon, 53, of Palmyra, was called home on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, after a short battle with lung cancer.

She has been reunited with her son Donald Willard Reardon and her sister, Sandra Loretta Gerke.

She was born Aug. 11, 1949, in Charlottesville, the daughter of Jessie and Catherine Maupin of Charlottesville, and daughter-in-law of Margie J. Reardon of Bremo Bluff.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Edwin Burley Reardon; her three daughters, Sherry Parmly and her husband, Paul Jr. of Palmyra, Leslie Mann and her husband, Kevin of Charlottesville, Wanda Breeden and her husband, John of Palmyra; two sons, Ronald Reardon and his wife, Melissa of Scottsville and Danny Reardon of Palmyra; her grandchildren, Phillip, Chance and Kaycie Parmly, Jenna, Kasey and Landon Mann, Trevor Reardon, Tiffany and Joshua Breeden; her sisters, Joyce Herndon of Charlottesville, Norma Searcy and her husband, R.J. of Palmyra, Edna Walker and her husband, Tommy of North Garden; her brothers, Wayne Maupin and his wife, Joann of North Garden, Ronald Maupin and his wife, Mary Jane of Grottoes; many nieces and nephews and a host of devoted friends.

Inez was a bookkeeper for Weather Hill Homes for six years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She liked to spend her spare time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, gardening, cooking, traveling with her husband, reading God's word, her Thursday morning Bible Study class at Maple Grove Christian Church and enjoying the company of wonderful friendships that she had built through the years.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with Mr. Roger Browning and Mr. Randy Golladay officiating. Interment icon will follow in Monticello Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Teague Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home on Thursday.

The family would like to thank Vito and Bevin Cetta, Mark Powell, and the employees of Weather Hill Homes, Edwin Stalzer and the employees of Virginia Electronic Components for their support during this difficult time. We would also like to thank Dr. Gordon Morris and Dr. Robert Pritchard and the entire staff at Martha Jefferson Hospital, and the entire staff of the Hospice of the Piedmont, for outstanding medical attention during her illness.

Alton E. Reid

Alton E. "Hoss" Reid, set out to sea on his final voyage, Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty H. Reid of Tabscott; one son, John A. Reid and his wife, Susan of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" Duley and her husband, Wayne of Tabscott; two sisters, Frances Karnes and Louethel Uhlmansick, both of Los Angeles; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

"Hoss" had an illustrious career in the United States Navy as a frogman, deep sea diver and instructor. He loved and cherished his country, family and many friends and neighbors.

The family invites all who loved "Hoss" to celebrate his life and legacy with them at 3 p.m. today at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Interment icon will follow in the church cemetery with full Masonic Rites and Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hadensville Rescue Squad.
