He is survived by a daughter, Marcy Christensen of Springfield; two sons, Edward Christensen of Hawthorne, Fla., and Jeremy Christensen of Burke; his mother, Helen Christensen of Arlington; one sister, Patricia Dawson of Arlington; three brothers, Edward Christensen of Woodbridge, Richard Christensen of Stafford and Robert Christensen of Delaware; and one grandson. Rosemarie M. Doucette
Rosemarie M. (Nunez) Doucette, 41, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001. She was born in Costa Rica, the daughter of Angela Nunez Jewett and the late Jose Francisco Nunez. She was employed with the Prince William County Police Department for eight years. She is survived by her husband, Lester D. Doucette; her children, Jason and Kyle Doucette; two sisters, Claudia Nunez Uyehara of Costa Rica and Mary Nunez Cushman of Milford, Mass.; four brothers, Paul Nunez of Farmington, N.H., John Bosco Nunez and John Daniel Nunez, both of Milford, Mass., and Richard Nunez of Portsmouth, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Murray officiating. Committal services will be held at Mt. Robert J. Fontaine
Robert Jules Fontaine, 60, of Stafford, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at Inova Fairfax Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and had worked as a senior intelligence analyst for the Army Department of Defense. He was a member of Mount Ararat Baptist Church, where he was a Promise Keeper, a member of the Ruritan Club and a member of Rock Hill Volunteer Rescue Squad 610 Unit. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army Reserves. He is survived by his wife, Min Kang; one daughter, Tamarah R. DeWein of Boonsboro, Md.; two sisters, Janis Chandler of Seattle and Ellen Asbell of Naple Valley, Wash.; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mount Ararat Baptist Church, the Rev. Dick Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle. Edith Page Fritter, 84, of Stafford, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Beverly Health Care in Fredericksburg. Born in Fredericksburg, she was a homemaker and a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking for church suppers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Josephine Layton Gallahan, and her husband, Norwood Fritter. She is survived by one daughter, Marie Fritter of Woodbridge; one son, John Fritter of Fort Worth, Texas; four brothers, Charles Gallahan, William Gallahan and Edwin Gallahan, all of Alexandria, and Gerald Gallahan of Woodbridge; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Richard Jackson, 67, of Vienna, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at Hospice of Northern Virginia, Arlington. He is survived by three brothers, Leonard Jackson Jr. of Ashburn, and Joseph Jackson and Kenneth Jackson, both of Fairfax; two sisters, Ada Vanison of Vienna and Gloria Haglier of Reston; and many other relatives and friends. Ruth T. Quinn
Ruth Trafford Quinn, 73, of Manassas, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at Prince William Hospital. Born in New York, she was employed as a real estate agent. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Trafford, and her husband, Philip Hopkins Quinn. She is survived by four daughters, Debra Q. Bechtel of Williamsport, Pa., Tami Q. Carr of Woodbridge, Lori Quinn of Springfield and Penny Q. Seaman of North Branford, Conn.; one son, James Quinn of Leesburg; one sister, Mina Lusk of New York; and one brother, Guy Trafford of New York. Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at St. James Episcopal Church, the Rev. John R. Ohmer officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Leesburg. John Conway Jr.
John F. Conway Jr., 67, of Occoquan died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Potomac Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Gertrude and John F. Conway III, he graduated from Brooklyn Tech, and graduated from New York State Maritime College at Ft. Schuyler in 1956. He worked for more than 30 years in the Navy Department on the piping system, component design and Submarine Safety program. Preceded in death by his son, Andrew Conway, he is survived by his wife, Patricia Conway of Occoquan; three sons, John Francis Conway of Sunrise, Fla., Michael Patrick Conway of Colora, Md., and Thomas Matthew Conway of Gautier, Md.; two daughters, Christine Ann Graff of Philadelphia, Pa., and Jean Marie Raup of Alexandria; and five granddaughters. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 13752 Mary’s Way, Woodbridge. Kevin Frock
Kevin Delane Frock, 37, of Dale City died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001. He was born in Washington, D.C., and lived his life in Manassas Park and Dale City. Survivors include his maternal grandmother, Goldie McGraw of Sophia, W.Va.; his father, Harry Frock of Manassas; his mother, Hazel McGraw Frock of Front Royal; two brothers, Franklin Frock of Dale City and John Frock of Stephens City; and one sister, Peggy Montoney of Stephens City. Kenneth Haynes
Kenneth E. Haynes, 53, of Lake Ridge died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at Shady Grove Hospital. A resident of Woodbridge for 20 years, he was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and a truck driver for the Journal newspaper for the past six years. He was an avid golfer and Redskins fan. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Phyllis L. Haynes of Lake Ridge; one son, Chad Haynes of Lake Ridge; his mother, Effie Haynes of Maryland; one sister, Elaine Brockell of Maryland; one brother, Tommy Haynes of Florida; and one granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City. Gene E. Maloy
Gene Edward Maloy, 41, of Manassas died Sept. 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center in New York. He was employed as a Management Analyst in the Technology Department of Marsh & McLennan. He graduated from Osbourn High School in Manassas City and attended Grambling University in Reston, La. In addition to his parents, Gene A. and Merlyn Maloy of Manassas, he is survived by his fiancee, Bernadette Moton of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one brother, Kevin; one sister, April Fitzgerald; three nephews; two nieces; and numerous other relatives. A memorial service will be held October 13, at 3:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 958 Center St. in Manassas. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Red Cross.

Patricia E. Mickley
Patricia E. (Patty) nee Dillaber Mickley, died September 11, 2001, a victim of the attack on The Pentagon, where she worked. She is survived by her husband, Joseph R. Mickley; one daughter, Marie Jacqueline Mickley; her parents, Philip and Jacqueline Dillaber; two sisters, Anne Youngblood and Katherine Dillaber; one brother, John Dillaber; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, in Springfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Oct. 13 at Church of the Nativity, 6400 Nativity Lane in Burke. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery. David Wayne Parks, 48, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at his home. Born in Arlington, he was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He worked as an assignment clerk for Verizon Telephone Company. He is survived by his wife, Rita Asbell Parks; one daughter, Jessica Parks of Emporia, Kan.; two stepsons, Cobby McDonald II of Stafford and Jason McDonald of Myrtle Beach; his parents, Arlon E. and Beverly Clift Parks of Leesburg, Fla.; five brothers, Arlon E. Mason Keith Riggleman Sr., 66, of Lynchburg, formerly of Gainesville died Friday, September 28, 2001, in Lynchburg. He is survived by his mother; a brother; sisters; seven children, including two sons, Keith Christopher "KC" Riggleman, Michael "Cody" Riggleman of Gainesville; and two former stepchildren raised as his own, Danny Griffith and Denise Gibson. Charles E. Robinson Jr.
Charles Edward Robinson Jr., 39, of Woodbridge died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church. He is survived by his father, Charles Edward Robinson Sr. of Centreville; his mother, Queen Esther Nichols of Orange; his stepmother, Carolyn Robinson of Centreville, his stepfather, Kenneth Nichols of Orange; one son, Isiah Williams of Manassas; one brother, Matthew Robinson of Centreville; two sisters, Rebecca Diane Robinson of Dale City and Rosemary Robinson of Stafford; his grandmother, Rose Scott of Dale City; and special friend, Robert Rodriguez of Dale City. Diane McRae Morcom
Diane McRae Morcom, 50, of Woodbridge died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Northern Virginia Community Hospital. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances McRae, she is survived by her husband, Reggie Morcom; three sons, David Coe, John Coe, and Daniel Morcom; one daughter, Shane Cavagnaro; three sisters, Bonnie Hardin, Wenda McRae and Leslie Reed; two brothers, David McRae and Sandy MacRae; and six grandchildren. She was a member of New Covenant Fellowship in Manassas. Services will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. James T. Lynch Jr.
James "Jim" T. Lynch Jr., 55, of Manassas died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, at the Pentagon in Arlington. Born in Burlington, Vt., he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1967. In 1969, he and his family moved to the Washington, D.C., area, where he was assigned to the 2044th Communications Group in the National Military Command Center at the Pentagon as an electronic technician. After being discharged in 1974, he returned to work at the NMCC as an Air Force civilian. In 1983, he began working in the Navy Command Center, where he was working on Sept. 11. He will be remembered as a patriot, nature enthusiast and "The Candy Man" who passed out candy to make people smile. Survivors include his wife, Brenda of Manassas; one son, Paul Lynch of Waldorf, Md.; one daughter, Patty Singh of Indian Head, Md.; one stepson, John Jackson of Lovettsville; his mother, Doris Lynch of Enfield, Conn.; four sisters, Maureen MacDonald and Carolyn DeRosier, both of Enfield, Judy Hesse of Broad Brook, Conn., and Kathleen Zetscher of Silver Spring, Md; one brother, Michael Lynch of Rockville, Conn.; and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, the Rev. Richard Owens Jr.
Richard E. Owens Jr., 55, of Savannah, Ga., formerly of Woodbridge, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, in Clarksburg, W.Va. A native of Virginia, he was a graduate of Old Dominion University in Norfolk and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was Director of Protective Services for Special Operations Group in Woodbridge and was responsible for the security for more than 100 federal facilities and the training of more than 400 police officers. Survivors include his wife, Emily of the home; one son, Richard of the home; one stepdaughter, Shannon Harman of Ohio; one stepson, Steven Harman of California; his mother, Shirley Lee Owens of Staunton; two sisters, Judith Owens of Staunton and Cherylee Owens of Far Hills, N.J.; two brothers, Stephen Lee Owens of The Woodlands, Texas, and Timothy Foiles Owens of Forest; one uncle and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Skidway Island Presbyterian Church, Savannah, Ga. Jesse Reid Jr.
Jesse Willard Reid Jr., 69, of Manassas died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at his residence. He was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church in Manassas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and an honorary life member of the Manassas Jaycees. He was a member of the Manassas host Lions Club, and a charter member on the airport committee. He was active with Little League and the Prince William Free Clinic in Manassas. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Joan P. Reid; one daughter, Susan Leigh Reid Carr of Richmond; one son, Michael Scott Reid of Manassas; one stepson, Arthur Roy Payne Jr. of Virginia Beach; one brother, Robert Coleman Reid of Roanoke; and five grandchildren. Thomas J. Zdan Jr.
Thomas "Murph" J. Zdan Jr., 70, of Woodbridge died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001 at Potomac Hospital. He retired from the U.S. Army after serving more than 20 years. He instructed real estate courses and had served with the Board of Realtors. He was a member of the American Board of Postal Workers Union and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Rose Zdan of Woodbridge; two daughters, Christine Jones and Elizabeth Chubb, both of Woodbridge; two stepdaughters, Melissa Snarski of Elysburg, Pa., and Isolda Peterman of Nurenburg, Germany; five sons, Ronald Zdan and Frank Zdan, both of Strasburg, Dennis Zdan of Woodbridge, Jesse Zdan of Front Royal and Paul Zdan of Denver; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
