Roy Washington "Bud" Worley, age 69, a resident of 12561 Smith Creek Road, Bristol, Va., died Sunday, July 21, 2002, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va. He was the son of the late Rome and Susie Swartz Worley. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen R. Chapman.
Survivors include one sister, Margaret A. Dolan of Elizabethton, Tenn., and one god daughter, Noelani Brook Scott of Bristol Virginia.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2002, in the Campbell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Widener officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2002, in the Fall Hill Cemetery, Saltville, Va. Honorary pallbearers will be great-nephews, Robert Dustin Burchfield, William Jordon Webb and Andrew Tyra Webb. NORTON - Funeral services for Charles Allen Amburgey will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robin Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens where military graveside rites will be conducted by Norton VFW Post 4301 and Wise DAV Chapter 56. Mr. Amburgey, 68, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport.

John R. Baumgardner
John R. Baumgardner, 83, died at his home July 10, 2002. Mr. Baumgardner was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Poole Kitzmiller Baumgardner; his father and mother, Rev. A.R. and Mary G. Morris Baumgardner; and brother, Morris A. Baumgardner.
Hs is survived by his former wife, Katherine Lewis Baumgardner; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. James L. and Paula, Oliver Springs, Tenn., Rev. A.R. (Dick) and Sue, Luttrell, Tenn., Lawrence W. and Cecelia, Jacksonville, Fla., Dr. Jere C. and Wanda, Irmo, S.C., and Gary L. and Debbie, Peachtree City, Ga.; stepchildren, Jean Sparger, Beverly Cox and Stanley Kitzmiller; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Frances Jones, Bristol Tennessee, and Glenna Barnousky, Bristol Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church, Mendota, Va., and a former member of East Bristol Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2002, in the Walnut Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Birchfield officiating, assisted by Rev. Darrell Lambert. Harry Price and the deacons of Walnut Grove Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.The family would like to extend a special thank you to friends Harry Price and Crede Dye who have done so much for Mr. Baumgardner the last several months. Michael Carl Bolling
WISE - Michael Carl Bolling, 52, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2002, at Bristol Regional Hospital, Bristol Tennessee.
He was self-employed in home construction and former employee of Bolling IGA Food Store of Pound, Wise County Sheriff's Department and VIC. He was of the Freewill Baptist faith.
Surviving are one son, Shad Bolling of Blacksburg, Va.; one daughter, Lezlee Bolling of Pound; his parents, Carl and Barbara Kilgore Bolling of Wise; one brother, Nicky Bolling of Pound; and two sisters, Sandra Mullins and husband, Gerard of Roanoke and Janie Cantrell and husband, Larry of Pound.
Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Friday at Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel, Wise, with Rev. Eddie Sturgill and Rev. Lester Robinson officiating. Gravside committal services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap, Va. The family will receive friends 5 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m. Friday at Sturgill Funeral Home, Wise.

Earnest W. Caudill
Earnest W. Caudill, age 64, of Bristol Tennessee, died July 10, 2002, at his home. Mr. Caudill was born June 12, 1938, in Abingdon, a son of the late Dwight and Hazel Rutherford Caudill. He was a retired carpenter and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mrs. Dorothy Rogers Caudill; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Randy Martin, Bonifay, Fla., and Karen and Timothy Jenkins, Jacksonville, N.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Shawna Caudill, Bluff City and Ray "Bucky" and Dawnita Caudill, Piney Flats,; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lora and Ralph Florek, Bristol Tennessee, and Cheryl and Gary Schmitt, Dalonega, Ga.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Nellie Caudill, Elkhart, Ind., and Donald and Inez Caudill, Bristol Tennessee; six grandchildren; and special friend, Clifford Arnold.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2002, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Howard Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Rooty Branch Cemetery. Daniel Lee Finch
CASTLEWOOD - Daniel Lee Finch, 17, of Route 3, Box 148A, died Tuesday, July 9, 1002, at Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon.
He was born in Sullivan County and was a rising senior at Gate City Christian School. He was a friendly, caring person with a heart of gold. He was a very hard-working young man and an avid deer hunter.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Cora Alice Finch.
Survivors include his parents, David and Debbie Dean Finch of the residence; brother, Joshua David Finch, Sevierville, Tenn.; paternal grandfather, Robert Finch, Dungannon, Va.; maternal grandparents, Harold and Evelyn Dean, Nickelsville, Va.; girlfriend, Danielle Parks, Colorado Springs, Colo.; special friends, Canaan Addison, Milano, Texas, Olivia Salyer, Dante, Va., Shirley Burke, Castlewood; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at Gate City Church of Christ on Friday, July 12, 2002, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jimmy Hammonds and Rev. Danny Grizzle officiating. Music will be provided by Jimmy and Wanda Hammonds and Becky and Greg White.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Finch, Andy Finch, Travis Finch, Jamie Finch, Tommy Taylor, Kevin Burton, Adam Byrd and Kevin Burke.

Margaret Blevins Hutton
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Margaret Blevins Hutton, 80, of 1028 Red Mill Blvd. 23454, died July 5, 2002. Born Jan. 13, 1922, and raised in Bristol Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late William Spurgeon Blevins and Winnie Bell Morrell Blevins. Mrs. Hutton graduated from King College. She married Estle M. Hutton of Bristol Virginia, on Nov. 18, 1948. While living in Bristol, she was a member of Central Christian Church. She lived in Roanoke from 1958 to 1967, she then moved to Richmond where she attended Westhampton Christian Church until moving to Virginia Beach in 1984. Mrs. Hutton became a widow when her husband passed away Feb. 5, 1990. She was a member of Disciple of Christ Christian Church.
Mrs. Hutton is survived by her daughters, Anne Hutton Cook and husband, William of Moneta, Va., and Cheryl Hutton Worthley and husband, Ronald of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Kristen Anne Hughes and husband, Clay, of Richmond, and Shawn Ryan Worthley and Chelsea Nicole Worthley; great-grandson, Clay Miller Hughes Jr.; and sister, Doris B. Walker and husband, A.J., of Atlanta.
A joint graveside service for Margaret and Estle will be Monday, July 15, 2002, at 2 p.m. in Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol.

Sarah Jane Lee
LEBANON - Sarah Jane Lee, daughter of the late Robert E. and Marguerite W. Lee, passed away at her home near Lebanon on Sunday, July 7, 2002.
Sarah Jane received her B.S. in forestry from Stephen F. Austin State University and her M.A. in health education from the Virginia Polytechnic University. She was a health educator for the Virginia Department of Public Health, the Cumberland Plateau Health Department in Lebanon for over 12 years. Prior to her career in public health, she worked as forester in Kenbridge, Va., and elsewhere.
She was a committed member of the Bahai faith. In her work as health educator, she was deeply involved with and devoted to the Appalachian AIDS Coalition, as well as doing important work on cardio-vasular risk reduction, childhood obesity and smoking cessation.
She was a supporter of the Appalachian Trail, devoting time to trail repair and upkeep through the Mt. Rogers Trail Club and an enthusiastic amateur radio operator and a member of the Russell County Amateur Radio Club. Her tireless energy and devotion to her several communities will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Sarah Jane is survived by her sister, Candida Lee of Springfield, Pa.; and her brother, Steven Lee of Geneva, N.Y.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2002, at 2 p.m. in the Combs Funeral Service Chapel in Lebanon. Burial will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery. Theron Mullins
Theron Mullins, age 59, 106 Oak Road, Bristol, Tenn., died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in Wellmont Hospice House. He was a native of Hi Hat, Ky., and son of the late Tillman and Nannie Brown Mullins. He was a retired truck driver and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Spangler Mullins; daughter, Sherri Wright, Bristol Tennessee; sons, Rob Mullins, Bluff City and Brian "Pee Wee" Mullins and Mike Mullins, both of Bristol Tennessee; sisters, Gloria "Spicy" Adkins, Piney Flats and Pal Gangewere, Blountville; and brother, Eugene Mullins, Bristol Tennessee. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
Funeral services and entombment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Glenwood Mausoleum Chapel, Bristol Tennessee, with Rev. Glen Hayes, Brother Sam Rasnake and Minister Gary Knapp officiating. WISE - Ruby Salyer Roach, 74, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2002, at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport.
She was a retired employee of Virginia Department of Highways as a time keeper, with 40 years of service and was a member of the Esserville Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Fred Roach; one daughter and son-in-law, Wilma and Danny Stallard of Wise; two stepdaughters, Trecia McGuire of Blountville and Linda Roach of Big Stone Gap; her mother-in-law, Grace Roach of Big Stone Gap; and one brother-in-law, Dale Roach of Bethlehem, Pa.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the Esserville Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Smith and Rev. David Nidiffer officiating. Entombment will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap. The family will receive friends 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Sturgill Funeral Home, Wise.

WARNER ROBBINS, Ga. - William E. "Bill" Rolen, 55, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in Warner Robbins. He was a native of Saltville. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Virginia R. Neal and William D. Rolen.
Survivors: wife, Cheryl Rolen, Warner Robbins; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Tammy B. Rolen, Abingdon; two brothers, Johnny W. Rolen and Ronald "Big" Rolen, Saltville; four sisters, Shelby Owens, Chilhowie and Pat Parris, Sherry Moore and Tina Hunt, Saltville; and several nieces and nephews.

Douglas Tillison
BLOUNTVILLE - Douglas Tillison, age 85, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Tillison was a native of Washington County, Va., but had lived in the Blountville area for the past 30 years. He was a retired truck driver with Associated Transport and also a retired Sullivan County reserve deputy and a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. He was preceded in death by one son, Jack Tillison, and was a member of the East End Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Tillison; one daughter, Jane Simpson of Bristol Tennessee; one son, Ronald Carrier of Bristol Tennessee; and one brother, Carl Tillison of Detroit. Also surviving are three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one special niece, Hazel Roe of Bristol Tennessee.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2002, at the Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Scott Watson officiating with interment to follow the service. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2002, at the Akard Funeral Home.

D. Neal Trent
KINGSPORT - David Neal Trent, age 65, of 503 Preakness Court, entered into rest Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Trent drove for the Rosenbalm family for many years. He was a board member of the Horse Creek Homeowners Association.
His wife, Mary Trent preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother, Vernell Trent, Bristol Virginia; one daughter, Vicki Parsons and husband Steve, Abingdon; one son, Mike Trent, Kingsport; one niece; one nephew; several great-nieces and great-nephews; devoted friend, Carolyn Harr; special granddaughter, Nichole Harr; and special friend, Kate Trent.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Doug Trent and Sonny Trent officiating.

Windom Thomas Wilson
Windom Thomas Wilson, age 98, of 379 Peoples Road, Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 11, 2002, in the Cambridge House. Born in Mountain City, Tenn., a son of the late William Isaac and Jennie Wilson, he had moved to the Bristol area in a wagon when he was four years old. He was a well-known retired farmer and carpenter and he was a member of the Weavers Church for over 50 years, served as an usher for 40 years and did volunteer church maintenance. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Gross Wilson.
Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Herman and Janice Wilson; granddaughters and husbands, Carol Wilson Wetherington and Joel and Sandra Wilson Prichart and Gary; great-grandchildren, Adam Wetherington, Sarah Wetherington, Aaron Prichart and Heath Edward Prichart; nephew, Dan Rhymer; and great-niece and nephew, Cathy and Paul.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2002, in the Weavers Church with Rev. Lloyd Jones officiating, assisted by Rev. Paul Humphrey and Rev. Bill Hyers, with special music by Betty Sapp and friends. Burial will follow in the Weaver Cemetery. Frances C. Berry
Frances C. Berry, 77, of Bristol Virginia, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Orange, Va., a daughter of the late Joseph Jasper and Belle Martin Coffman, and was the widow of John K. Berry.
During World War II, she worked in Cleveland, Ohio, as an accountant and in a factory supporting the war effort. She moved to the Tri-State area in the 1950s. Mrs. Berry retired from the accounting department of the Clinchfield Coal Company.
Survivors include a sister, Lucille Coffman Roberts, formerly of St. Paul, Va.; a brother, Alfred Martin Coffman of Avon Lake, Ohio; a niece, Lorena Roberts McGarvey of Nokesville, Va.; and two nephews, Bill Roberts of Greenville, N.C., and Wayne Roberts of Jensen Beach, Fla.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be sent to the Bristol Cancer Association, 126 Johnson St., Bristol, VA 24202, National Kidney Foundation of East Tennessee, P.O. Box 1135, Blountville, TN 37617 or charity of donor's choice.

Brian E. Bowersox
ATKINS, Va. - Brian Eugene Bowersox, 51, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord July 29, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Bowersox was born in South Bend, Ind., and employed with American Tire in Wytheville and was preceded in death by his father, Firman Bowersox. He had lived in Atkins for many years prior to moving to Wytheville. While in Atkins, he attended the Atkins First Church of God and also attended the Liberty Street Church in Wytheville. He was a model railroad buff and was a hard worker with a big heart. Brian was an avid church worker.
Survivors include: mother, Lucille Bowersox, Dallas; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Carol and Robert Siti, Spring, Texas, and Barbara Lambert, Dallas; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Siti, San Antonio, Texas, Janice Siti, Houston, Texas, and Christopher and wife Hannah Siti, Humble, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins in Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Rev. Nauhad Melki and Rev. W.T. Meredith officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Justin Dean Chaffin
ABINGDON - Justin Dean Chaffin, 19, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at his home.
He was a 2001 graduate of Abingdon High School and had been active in the Boy Scouts of America. Justin was a member of the Abingdon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, William E. and Sharron Deel Chaffin of Abingdon; one sister, Emily Chaffin, Abingdon; and his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Chaffin of Gallatin, Tenn. Also surviving are several members of his extended family.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at 6 p.m. at the Abingdon Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Steven Pollard officiating. The family will greet friends following the funeral service in the sanctuary of the Abingdon Baptist Church.
Committal services will be held Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Friends who will attend the committal service are requested to assemble at the cemetery.
The family of Justin Dean Chaffin is being served by Farris Funeral Service in Abingdon.
