Kenneth Ray Weaver, 72, of Bristol Tennessee went to be with his Lord, Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Blaine J. Adams
CASTLEWOOD - Funeral services for Blaine Jackson (Jack) Adams will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Combs Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Turner officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by Lebanon VFW Post 9864 will follow in Adams Family Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, Russell County Chapter, Route 3, Box 23B, Lebanon.
Mr. Adams, 88, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
Combs Funeral Service in Lebanon is serving the family of Mr. Adams.

Tony L. Ashkettle
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - Tony Lynn Ashkettle, 28, of Avenue J. died March 25, 2002, at Memorial Hospital-Ormond, Ormond Beach.
Born in Anchorage, Alaska, he moved to the Ormond Beach area in 2001 from Bristol, Tenn. He was a sales consultant at Ashley Furniture Store in Ormond Beach and was a Spiritualist.
He attended Northeast State Technical Community College, was a tattoo artist, enjoyed drawing and making people laugh.
Surviving are his father, Lynn L. Ashkettle of Deland; mother, Teresa Voyle of Anchorage; stepmothers Y-vonna Poole of Bristol, Tenn., and Sandra Huckabee of Ocala, Fla.; four brothers, Ken Ashkettle, Jeff Poole and Daniel Ashkettle, all of Bristol, Tenn., and Thomas Ashkettle of Deland; three sisters, Annette Baird of Bristol, Tenn., Christa Poole of Bristol, Tenn., and Heather Ashkettle of Deland; and paternal grandparents, Conrad and Loretta Ashkettle of Kendallville, Ind.
Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, Fla., is in charge.

Alola A. Barton
AKRON, Ohio - Mrs. Alola A. Barton, 88, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in a Tallmadge, Ohio, health center. Born June 8, 1913, in Davenport, Va., she was the daughter of the late R. S. and Alola Duty Ball. She had resided in the Akron area for the past four years, moving there from Lebanon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Asa Barton, and one son, Bruce.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis (Ira-Toby) Sullivan of Akron and Gladys Clark of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, with Pastor Fred Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery at Lebanon.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Thursday.

Michael Thomas Blanton
Michael Thomas Blanton, 43, of Meadowview Road, Lot 13, Bristol, Tenn., died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, in James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He had lived his life in the Bristol area and was the son of the late Ardie H. and Phyllis Blanton. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Angela Blanton; children Judy Blanton and Missy Blanton; stepchildren Earl and Danielle; granddaughter Kayla; sisters Diane Hilliard, Teressa Johnson and Karen Keller; brothers Ardie H. Blanton, Howard Scott McCary; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted in National Cemetery with military honors conducted by VFW Patton-Crosswhite Post 6975. E-mail condolences may be sent to the family at www.weaverfuneralhome.net.

Addie Buchanan
KINGSPORT - Addie Amanda Buchanan, 98, of the Oaks at Brandy Mill, formerly of 109 East Gibson St., died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Wexford House.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Allen Buchanan; a son, J.W. Buchanan; and two daughters, Mildred Louise Buchanan and Billie Jean Buchanan-Arnold.
Surviving are four daughters and one son-in-law, Ruth B. Elliott of Kingsport, Christine B. Crawford of Owensboro, Ky., Nell S. Banks of Bristol, Tenn., and Mary Frances "Fran" and Thomas H. Hammonds of Westfield, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, William Lee Buchanan of Raleigh, N.C., Larry Allen Buchanan of Natural Bridge, Va., Richard Lynn Buchanan of Virginia Beach, J. Mark Elliott of Lewisburg, Pa., Robert T. Banks of Bristol, Tenn., Suzanne B. Goyette of Bristol, Tenn., Allen C. Crawford of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Ruthie B. Blair of Pollock Pines, Calif., William Eric Hammonds of Westfield, Ind., and Amanda H. Rothenberg of Indianapolis; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ola Dell R. Hooker of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jack and Charlotte Thweat and David and Charlotte DeVault.
Calling hours are from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Marvin Cameron and Dr. Ron Davis officiating. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to services.
Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 200 W. Church Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660.

Rowena Counts Ellis
MARION - Rowena Counts Ellis, 98, died Tuesday in New River Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Ellis was born Nov. 5, 1903, in Washington County, and was a member of South Fork Baptist Church. She later moved to Salem and placed her membership with Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ferd Ellis.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Anna Lou and Harold Goodman of Salem and Becky and Vernon Stanley of Dublin; four grandchildren and spouses, Mark and Karen Goodman, Brian and Diane Stanley, Sherri Goodman and Michaela and Ronnie Byrd; five great-grandchildren, Brandon Stanley, Debra Stanley, Jamie Byrd, Lindsey Byrd and Whitney Byrd.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Rev. Ronnie Blevins and Mark Totten officiating. Interment will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Bradley's Funeral Home, Marion, is serving the Ellis family.

Thomas L. Eury
The committal and entombment for Thomas L. "Uncle Bubba" Eury will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mountain View Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Eury, 79, of 160 Springdale Road, Bristol, Tenn., went to be with his Lord Saturday, March 23, 2002, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Frazier Fields
MEADOWVIEW - Frazier Fields, 70, died Monday, March 25, 2002, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
Born in Russell County, July 21, 1931, a son of the late Henry Bascom Fields and Cynthia Harmon Fields, he had lived in Salisbury, Md., 40 years, retiring to Meadowview.
Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Fields; five sons, Jerald Fields of Thomas Bridge, Va., Thomas M. Fields and Joseph H. Fields, both of Abingdon, Lloyd Fields of Washington, D.C., and Charles Fields of Damascus; also three grandchildren.
Honoring Mr. Fields' wishes, his body will be cremated. No visitation or service will be held.
Combs Funeral Service in Lebanon is serving the Fields family.

Robert Lee Francis
BLUFF CITY - Robert E. Lee Francis, 81, died Wednesay, March 27, 2002, at Ft. Sanders Medical Center in Knoxville.
A son of the late Quincy Francis and Mary Ann Powers Francis, he was born in Green Cove, Va. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a retired member of Teamsters Local 549. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bluff City. Mr. Francis was a former employee of Roy B. Moore Trucking Co. He was preceded in death by brothers Thomas Everrett Francis and Frank Allen Francis; and also a sister, Ella Clark.
Survivors include his wife, Etta Francis of Bluff City; a daughter, Annette Francis Harkleroad and her husband, Allen K. Harkleroad, of Bluff City; a son, Donnie Lee Francis and his wife, Carol Francis, of Morristown, Tenn.; three sisters, Edna Bowers of Bluff City, Edith Frye of New Market, Va., and Gladys Snow of Blountville; two brothers, Howard Francis of Bluff City and Paul Francis of Bristol, Tenn.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a special friend, Pat Nelson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 8 o'clock Thursday evening in the chapel of Oakley-Cook Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Moor and Rev. Scott Watson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home or at any time at the home of the daughter, Annette F. Harkleroad. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 11 o'clock Friday morning at the graveside in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Aldridge, Charles Peltier, Michael Bowers, David Lynn Francis, Nate Monteith and Eddie Canter. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Fleenor, Laks Venkataraman, Raj Venkataraman, Jerry Kinkead, Howard Cross, Kenny Miller and Harry Aldridge.
Arrangements especially for Mr. Francis have been made through Oakley-Cook Funeral Home.

Linda L. Glass
ABINGDON - Mrs. Linda Lloyd Glass, 52, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon. She was born in Washington County and was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Glass Fields, and her father, John Robert Lloyd.
Linda was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and church worker. She was an avid member of the Elvis Presley Fan Club.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred Glass; her mother, Maxie Lloyd of Abingdon; a daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and James Barrett of Meadowview; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Lisa Hurt-Glass of Abingdon; two sisters, Barbara Nicholson and Sue Blevins, both of Abingdon; three grandchildren, Jessee Barrett, Brittany Barrett and Dakota Fields; and special friends, Dr. Emory Robinette and wife, Rhetha, Karen Smith, Linda Arnett and Denise Smith.
The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002, in Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Parsons officiating. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, in Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Bill Anderson, Jim Watson, Paul Price, Dennis Foster, David Lealand, Giles Burke, Jeff Stiltner and Ray Smith. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the funeral service Thursday. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 18129 N. Fork River Road, Abingdon, VA 24210. Farris Funeral Service is serving the family of Mrs. Linda Lloyd Glass.

Raymond J. Hamilton
PINEY FLATS - The committal service and burial for Raymond J. Hamilton will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday morning at the graveside in St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Rutherford, Jerry Cross, Steve King, Dennis Cox, R.M. Godsey, Robert King, Glenn Malone and Allen Warren. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of St. Paul United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, c/o Hazel Hudson, 265 Haw Ridge Road, Piney Flats, TN 37686.
Mr. Hamilton, 98, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at home.

Robert L. Hicks Sr.
HAMPTON, Va. - A graveside service with military honors for Robert L. Hicks Sr. will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2002, at Hampton Veterans Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, downtown Hampton.
Mr. Hicks, 68, died Monday, March 25, 2002.
Mr. Hicks loved his grandchildren and loved his bluegrass music. He was a friend to everyone who knew him and will be sadly missed by all.

Thedford Holmes
RICHLANDS - The Rev. Thedford Holmes, 74, of Brown Hollow Road died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at home following a lengthy illness.
He was born at Seaboard, Va., and was a son of the late Victor and Margaret Marie Lawson Holmes, both Tazewell County natives.
He was a lifelong resident of the Richlands area, was self-employed and was a member of Church of the Living God at Doran, Va. He had served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carrie Helton; two brothers, William Holmes and Arvil Holmes; and also three infant brothers.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Martha Asbury Holmes; four sons, Rev. Richard Allen Holmes and wife, Carol, of Bristol, Va., Mr. Ronald Holmes and wife, Pamela, of Richlands, Mr. David Holmes and wife, Teresa, of Richlands and Mr. Kenneth Holmes and wife, Tammy, of Richlands; one sister, Mrs. Mary Puckett and husband, Walter, of Eurie, N.C.; two brothers, Rev. Robert Holmes and wife, Rebecca, of Wytheville and Rev. Alvin Holmes and wife, Betty, of Richlands; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with Rev. Charlie Pruett, Rev. Jody Bishop and Rev. Farley Christian Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Casey-Shortt VFW Post 9640 of Richlands and the Disabled AmericanVeterans Tazewell County Chapter 31 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call at United Pentecostal Church on Holmes Circle in Richlands from 6-9 p.m. Thursday.
Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands is in charge of arrangements.

Dora Mae Madison
JOHNSON CITY - Ms. Dora Mae Madison, 46, of 307 Winter St. died Tuesday, March 26, at her residence.
She was a native of Bluff City and a member of Robinson Memorial AME Zion Church. She was employed by Johnson City Medical Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Danniele Yvette Madison of Johnson City; brothers Robert Earl Madison Jr., of Bristol, Tenn., and Jackie Wayne Madison of Baltimore; sisters Mrs. Phyllis JoAnn Baker of Johnson City, Ms. Peggy Ann Madison of Johnson City and Mrs. Dorothy L. Harville of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Hilton Robert Madison, Treston DeAndre Madison and Alonzoe Donnell Madison; son-in-law, Derrick Lamont Talley of Johnson City; and cousin and dear friend, Mrs. Janice Madison of Bristol, Tenn.
Robinson Mortuary is serving the family of Ms. Dora Madison. Arrangements are incomplete.

Fronia L. McCoy
GLADE SPRING --The funeral service for Fronia Marie Lockart McCoy will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. in Farris Funeral Chapel with Pastor Paul Price officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tim Ball, Earl McCoy Jr., Raymond White, Chris Hurley, Craig Hurley and Billy McCoy.
Mrs. McCoy, 72, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at home.
Farris Funeral Service, Abingdon, is serving the family of Mrs. McCoy.

ABINGDON - Mrs. Naomi McCray, 92, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Farris Funeral Service is serving the family of Mrs. Naomi McCray.

Katherine H. McLaughlin
WHEELING, W.Va. - Katherine E. Haberfield McLaughlin, 87, died Monday, March 25, 2002, in Wheeling Hospital. Born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Beavon Haberfield. She was a retired clerk for Aul and Shively Dry Cleaners, where she worked for more than 45 years. She was a member of Warwood United Methodist Church and the widow of Russell "Pete" McLaughlin.
Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Knouse of Bristol, Tenn.; and two granddaughters, Kathryn Ramp of Hampton, Ill., and Linda Batten of Indianapolis.
Services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2002, inWheeling.
Memorial contributions can be made to Warwood United Methodist Church, 1438 Warwood Ave., Wheeling,WV 26003 or to Warwood Lions Club, P.O. Box 4172, Wheeling,WV 26003.

Fernanda Alonso Molina II, infant son of Fernanda Alonso Molina and Frances April Chanel Shores of Bristol, Va., went home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 25, 2002, at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Survivors, in addition to the parents, include maternal grandparents, Charles Joseph Shores of Georgia, and Lillie Elaine Hackney and step-grandfather, Randall Hackney of Bristol, Va.; paternal grandparents, Salvadore and Fabie Molina of Johnson City; maternal great-grandmother, Bonnie Frances Wyatt of Bristol, Tenn., maternal great-grandfather, James Robert McElyea of Bristol, Tenn.; three uncles, Chris Shores, Michael Shores and Brandon Shores, all of Bristol, Va.; one aunt, Nikki Shores of Bristol, Va; great-aunts and great-uncles, Chuck and Jennifer McElyea, Bobby and Carolyn McElyea and Jason and Melissa McElyea, all of Bristol, Tenn., Johnny and Janice McElyea of Sevierville, Tenn., and Tammy and Mike Green of Bristol, Tenn.; great-great-aunts and great-great-uncles, Maggie Blalock and children of Bristol, Va., and Boots and Tom Blevins of Bristol, Va.; mother and grandmother, Elaine, will always be with you even though you are gone. Love you.
Committal services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2002, in Mausoluem Chapel in Forest Hills Memory Gardens, Abingdon.
