Anita T. McATEE (TD)

TD passed away on March 30, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband Lex McAtee. Her career had been with Frederick and Nelson when it was a great store. She was the fashion director and merchandise manager of the women's apparel division. She is survived by her stepson Kip McAtee and his wife Dawn and two children of Aiea, HI.; nephew Richard Penning ton and his children of Kirkland, WA.; a cousin and two nieces and their children of Tacoma, WA.; and a host of wonderful friends. There will be a farewell gathering at The Ruins, 570 Roy Street on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at 4 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the charity of your choice. Evelyn Marie McDONALD

Born in San Mateo, CA. November 20, 1940 living her life in California, Alaska, Colorado and Washington. She was an amazing person who touched so many throughout her life. She peacefully passed away on April 3, 2001. Survived by husband Robert L. McDonald, children Michael D. McDonald of Kent, WA., Mark D. McDonald of Dallas, TX. and Kathleen M. McDonald of Federal Way, WA. Her family brought her great joy and travels with family brought her much pleasure. She shared her time by volunteering with ARCO in Anchorage, 4-H and Guide Dogs For The Blind in San Francisco and Anchorage, The Washington Antique Carousel Society and Project Linus in Washington. Our family can speak for all who knew her when we say Thank You for sharing your generous spirit with us, our laughter was louder, our possibilities were greater, our lives more memorable simply because of you. Richard Westin (Dick) McGEE (68)

A big man with a big heart, he died at home in Des Moines, WA on April 1, 2001. Loving father to Cami (Michael) Jones and Bret (Joy) McGee and grandfather to four girls, he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Dick was a 1951 graduate of White River H.S. who enjoyed and participated in sports of all kinds. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 9, at 10 a.m. at Overlake Christian Church in Redmond, WA. (Obit is from 04/06/2001 to 04/08/2001.)

Linda Maureen MICKEL

Was born March 08, 1943 in Seattle, WA. She passed away March 31, 2001 at her home in Anacortes, WA. Linda was a beloved fiancee, mother, grandmother and friend. She was an avid gardener, accomplished writer, photographer, and photojournalist. Linda had a great love for the out-of-doors. She will be remembered for her kind spirit and her intention to connect with, and respect everyone she encountered. She is survived by her fiance' Robert Schmidt, daughter Leisa Sanders, son Todd Lengacher and her three grandchildren David, Kyle and Emma. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 8th at 11 a.m. at the Center for Urban Horticulture (3501 NE 41st Street - Seattle, WA. 98105). Flowers accepted at the memorial service. Eunice MICKELSON

Born February 16, 1908 to Wilbur E. and Tillie A. Jennings. Eunice and her five siblings were raised on the family farm in Marysville, Washington. The family homestead was given to The City of Marysville and named "Jennings Park". Eunice passed away April 1, 2001. She is survived by her daughters Nola Sparks and husband Clyde, Midge Gonter and husband Gary. Grandchildren Martin Sparks and wife Linda, Jennifer Sparks, Lisette Welk and husband Michael, Dr. Aaron Gonter and Laird Gonter; great grandchildren Jacob and Natalie Welk; sister Rena Bidwell and sister in law Helen Mickelson. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband Edwin O. Mickelson in 1949. Graveside Service Saturday, April 7, 2001, 2:30 p.m. at Washelli cemetery. A Memorial Service to follow 4 p.m. at Evergreen-Washelli Chapel, 11111 Aurora Ave. N., Seattle. Memorials to Mickelson Endowment Foundation (Children's Hospital Fund) P.O. Robert Lavern MIDGETT

Robert Lavern MIDGETT, 91, of Des Moines, died at his home on April 5, 2001. He was born in Flatrock, IL. on December 12, 1909 to Joseph and Amy (Kent) Midgett. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 8, 2001 at 3 p.m. at the Des Moines United Metho dist Church in Des Moines. He is survived by his wife Connie Midgett of Des Moines, children Dianna Haddock of McKenny, Texas, Sue Hills of Federal Way, Robert Midgett, Jr. of Renton, William Midgett of Des Moines, sister Phyllis Simms of Kent; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of BONNEY-WATSON Funeral Home in Federal Way. (Obit dated 04/07/2001.)

Appleton T. "App" MILES

Died at his home in Edmonds on April 3, 2001 at age 79. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut on June 21, 1921. App was raised in California and was a Naval Aviator during WWII. He worked for Washington Mutual Bank in the Seattle area for over 20 years. At the time of his retirement, he was manager of the Aurora Village Branch. He was active in Kiwanis and the Shoreline Rotary Club. App enjoyed golfing and boating. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marjorie; son, Raymond, and niece, Lindalea Harris. Francis William MILLER

Francis William MILLER, 88, of Montesano, Wa, died Sat, March 31 at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, WA, surrounded by his wife and family. Fran had been recuper ating in Bellevue from a November car accident. Fran was a 1942 graduate of WA. State College in electrical engineering, and served in the South Pacific during WWII as LCDR in the Navy. He also completed graduate work at Harvard and MIT. Fran was a lifetime member of SMPTE and retired from KOMO TV and Radio in 1977 as Chief Engineer. Fran spent the next 25 years traveling the USA with is wife Ruth. Fran also spent hours listening to music and reading. He will be remembered for his quiet manner, twinkling brown eyes, and mischievous jokes. Fran is proceeded in death by his son Stephen, father William, mother Edna, brothers Cliff and Larry, and sister Eula. Fran is survived by Ruth his wife of 55 yrs, daughters, Margot Abi nanti and Kyra Miller of Kirkland, granddaughter Marci Abinanti of Redmond, sisters Doris Schwarz and Betty Ash of Seattle. A Memorial Service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Aberdeen, Wa., Friday, April 6, 2001 at 3 p.m. Remembrances may be made to your favorite charity. Eleanor (Ellie) MORENO

Age 55, Our beloved Mother and Grandmother passed away on April 6.
Five children and six grandchildren survive her.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 10, 11 a.m. at Yarington's Funeral Home with a reception to follow. (Obit dated 04/09/2001.)

Achan R. MORGAN

Age 79, passed away on April 4, 2001 after a long illness. He was born in Galveston, Texas on March 25, 1922. Following his service in the U.S. Navy in World War II and the Korean War, he worked at Bremerton Naval Shipyard, taught at the Moler Barber College, was an "Ordained Pass Elder" for Madrona Presbyterian Church, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Masonic Temple Hammer Lodge #35 ANFM as a "Pass Master" for many years. His wife, Willie Victoria; son, Gartha Morgan, daughter-in-law, Theresa; grandchildren, Bridget and Blair; nieces, nephews; two sisters-in-law, and two brothers-in-law, survives Achan. He will be remembered as a kindhearted person, a great story-teller, loving husband, supportive father and, devoted grandparent. Arrangements are under the direction of Bonney-Watson Capitol Hill (Obit dated 04/08/2001.)

Charles D. NAVONI

Charles D. Navoni died peacefully in his sleep April 8, 2001 at Bayview Manor. He was 92 years old. Charles was born January 3, 1909 in Seattle to Louis and Mary Navoni. He attended Immaculate Conception Grade School and Garfield High School. Chuck worked with his father at Union Auto Springs Works as a blacksmith and for several years during World War II at The Boeing Company. He worked in the dry cleaning business for more than 30 years, until his retirement in 1972. Charles was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the St. Vincent de Paul Society and was an active member of St Anne's Parish on Queen Anne for more than 50 years, where he also served as an usher at Mass. Family and friends cherished Chuck as a world-class storyteller and a most dependable chauffeur, frequently providing transportation to those who did not have their own. His large, devoted family treasured his rich humor and compassionate and generous nature. His beloved wife of 72 years, Helen, survives Charles, as well as his five children: Jeanne, Donna, Barbara, David, and Suzanne; and his sons-in-law, Ralph, Bill, Tom and daughter-in-law, Sadona. He leaves 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Anne's Church, 11 West Lee Street, Seattle, on April 11 at 12 noon. Burial arrangements are with Bleitz Funeral Home.

James NUCCI

James NUCCI, 86, of Edmonds died April 2, 2001. He is survived by his daughter Jeanne Holly and her husband Chet of Chatsworth, California, son James C. Nucci of Edmonds; sister Justine Terracino; grandchildren: Christine Nucci, Ross Teagle, James R. Holly, Chester R. Holly, Thomas John Holly and Maria Theresa Holly; great-grandson Austin Nucci; sisters-in-law: Phyllis Shown and Gladys Staley. preceded in death by his wife Alene last year. Bill NYE (W6LXP)

"Bill Nye, the Radio Guy" William A. Nye, born May 12, 1912 in New York City; died March 29, 2001 at age 88. He is survived by Toddy (W7LCS) his wife of 60 years. They have been residents of West Seattle for almost 50 years. Bill retired at age 79 from his work as a Shipboard Radio Operator. He worked for numerous ocean-going shipping lines. Bill was a member of West Seattle Amateur Radio Club, Quarter Century Wireless Association and Society of Wireless Pioneers. He traveled all over the world, picking up conversational fluency in many languages at his ports of call. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorial Service will be Saturday, April 7th, at 1 p.m. at St. John United Lutheran Church, 5515 Phinney Ave. N., Seattle, 98103.
