Robert Womack
Robert Lee Womack, 77, of Kingston died June 18, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Nov. 22, 1921, in Stanfield, Ore., to Lawrence and Mary Womack. He grew up in Lordsberg, N.M.
Mr. Womack served in the Army from Oct. 9, 1940, to Oct. 9, 1945. He was a corporal, serving in central Europe, Normandy, France, and the African Theater as an airplane armorer.
His military honors include the European, African and Middle Eastern campaign medals, as well as the American Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He married Louise I. Plasmyer on Sept. 27, 1968.
Mr. Womack owned and operated Bob's Garage in Kingston for five years, retiring in 1983.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Womack of Bremerton and Richard Keenan of Spring, Texas; two daughters, Susan Totherow of Arlington, Texas, and Peggie Petteys of Poulsbo; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A private family service took place Thursday at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Inurnment also was at Tahoma National cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 4414 Woodlawn Park Ave. N, Seattle, WA 98103 or to the American Diabetes Association, 557 Roy St., Seattle, WA 98109.

Paul Moore Sr.
Paul Norman Moore Sr., 68, of Poulsbo died June 23, 1999, in Poulsbo.
He was born May 29, 1931, in Anawalt, W. Va., to Harry and Mae (Mallory) Moore. He grew up in Anawalt, graduating from Gary High School in Gary, W.Va., in 1948.
Mr. Moore served in the Army from October 1949 to May 1, 1970. He was stationed in Alaska, Germany and Korea.
He married Sandra M. Stevens on Dec. 31, 1978, in Poulsbo.
Mr. Moore repaired televisions and worked as a bookkeeper for The Brothers in Poulsbo from 1971 to 1980. He then began a 17-year career with the Poulsbo post office, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of the Sons of Norway and the Eagles.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; a son, Paul Moore Jr., of Sequim; two stepdaughters, Kimberly Evans of Poulsbo and Tiffani Goff of Swartz Creek, Mich.; three brothers, Franklin, Jerry and Ray Moore; three sisters, Betty Cartright, Kanna Mae Dillon and Perrlia Fullen; six grandchildren, Chris Moore of Burien, Kevin Moore of Sequim, Danielle Evans of Poulsbo, and Jesse, Taylor and Gage Goff, all of Swartz Creek. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Harry James, and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth and Nancy Arlene.
A private family service will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to Breidablik Baptist Church in Poulsbo.

Shirley Whitney
Shirley Jane Whitney, 73, of Poulsbo died June 23, 1999, at her home. She had been a resident of Kitsap County for more than 50 years.
She was born July 17, 1925, in Duluth, Minn., to John and Johanna (Nieman) Bowen. She grew up and was educated in Minnesota, graduating from high school there.
She married Myron Whitney in January 1947. He preceded here in death in 1989.
She and her husband owned and operated a store at what is now known as the Four Corners in North Kitsap. She also was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Terry Whitney, and grandson, Bjorn, both of Lofall, and four other sons, Jerry of Poulsbo, Cecil of Tacoma, Jim of Suquamish and Donald of Okanogan; two daughters, Donna Jolin of Okanogan and Beverly Kraft of Oregon; two brothers, Dick Bowen of San Diego and George Bowen of Duluth, Minn.; a sister, Eileen Willard of Everett; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kingston Christian Church. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park in Poulsbo. Arrangements are under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove.
Memorial donations may be made to Poulsbo Fire Department, Medic Department, 911 NE Liberty Road, Poulsbo, WA 98370.

Ruby Langill
Ruby E. Langill, 80, of Bremerton died June 23, 1999, at Harrison Hospital of cancer.
She was born Jan. 8, 1919, in Greenbrier, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Chester W. and Mable (Smith) Ray. She grew up in Monroe, Wash., attending Monroe Union High School.
She married Jack H. Langill on Jan. 25, 1936, in Monroe. The couple was married 63 years.
Mrs. Langill was employed as a cafeteria cook with the Central Kitsap School District for 20 years, retiring in 1971. She worked at Central Kitsap High School and Central Kitsap Junior High School.
She was an active member of Silverdale United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women and Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS), serving as a TOPS queen.
Survivors include a son, Ray Langill of Des Moines, Iowa; a daughter, Colleen Mey of Silverdale; a brother, Clarence of Monroe; five sisters, Belle Wall of Monroe, Helen Erickson of Seattle, Dora Butler of Clayton, Belle Curd of Tswassen, B.C., and Dorothy Maier of Regina, Saskatchewan; three grandchildren, Bob Mey and Jeanine Hurst, both of Bremerton, and Richard Langill of Des Moines, Iowa; two stepgrandchildren, Tamira Nelson and Shelly Hampton, both of Des Moines; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Langill, June 22, 1955; two sisters, Agnes Mantei and Ethel Speaks; and a brother, Wilfred Ray.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. July 3 at Silverdale United Methodist Church.
Memorial donations may be made to Silverdale United Methodist Church or to the Silverdale United Methodist Church Youth Program, both at P.O. Box 86, Silverdale, WA 98383.

Robert Howlett
Robert R. Howlett, 71, of Port Orchard died June 21, 1999, at Highline Community Hospital in Burien of heart complications.
He was born Jan. 1, 1928, in Utica, N.Y., to Arthur and Gladys (Bullock) Howlett. He was raised and educated in New York, graduating from high school in Nickolson, Pa., in 1945.
Mr. Howlett served in the Marine Corps from 1946 to 1947. He was a member of the 1st Marine Division in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He moved to Boyes Hot Springs, Calif., in 1954, becoming a machinist at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, Calif. He worked there 30 years, retiring in 1985.
He married Gladys S. (Smith) Howlett on Dec. 15, 1946, in Nickolson. She preceded him in death in 1990.
Mr. Howlett was a member and past master of the Masonic Temple Lodge 14 in Sonoma, Calif.; a member of Masonic Lodge 98 in Port Orchard; and a member and past patron of the Valley of the Moon 85 Order of the Eastern Star in Boyes Hot Springs.
Other memberships included American Legion Post 489 in Sonoma; Scottish Rite in Bremerton; the Kitsap Shrine Club Nile Temple A.A.O.M.S.; Elks Lodge 2560 in Gig Harbor; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1943 in Sonoma; and the 1st Marine Division, Marine Corps Association. He also served as a volunteer with the Valley of the Moon Fire District in Boyes Hot Springs for 22 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Parker of Silverdale and Janet Burns of Port Orchard; a brother, Arthur of Vacaville, Calif.; six grandchildren, Richard Burns, Robin Peterson, Steven Parker, Rebecca Burns, Karl Parker and Cynthia Parker; and seven great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Paul.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Rill Chapel, followed by interment at 2 p.m. at Sunset Lane cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mary Jaworski
Mary E. Barrett Jaworski, 70, of Bremerton died June 22, 1999, of cancer at her home.
She was born in Bonner Springs, Kan., to Joseph and Florence (Pritchard) Barrett. She grew up in Bonner Springs.
She married Albert Jaworski on May 14, 1947, in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1976.
She was a longtime member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Bremerton, participating in many church organizations throughout the years.
Survivors include two sons, Albert of Everett and Raymond of Bremerton; a daughter, Rosemary Ann Davis of Las Vegas; two sisters, Katheryn Hassman of Tucson, Ariz., and Louise Covey of Vallejo, Calif.; numerous grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday. Interment icon will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Maryknoll Fathers & Brothers, P.O. Box 302, Maryknoll, NY 10545.

Alvin Hanson
Alvin LeRoy Hanson, 87, of Bremerton died June 22, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born May 10, 1912, in Haman, N.D.
He married Ruth Evelyn Anderson on June 19, 1937, at Devil's Lake, N.D. They had been married 62 years.
Mr. Hanson owned a vending machine company. He retired in 1976, moving to Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Leonard of Bremerton and Roger of Belfair; two brothers, Merle and Arnold, both of Wenatchee; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee Funeral and Cremation Services of Bremerton.

Beula Middents
Beula May Middents, 96, of Bremerton died June 15, 1999, at Bremerton Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born May 21, 1903, in Bruce, S.D., to Lewis H. and Hattie (Willby) Burdick. She was raised and educated in Bruce, graduating from high school in 1922.
She also graduated from Northern Normal and Industrial School (now Northern State University) in Aberdeen, S.D., in 1926.
She taught school in the South Dakota towns of Bruce, Sisseton, Tripp and Parker. She was a principal in both Tripp and Parker.
She married Lenhard R. Middents on Aug. 8, 1937, in Parker. She was then a minister's wife, actively involving herself in all of her husband's congregations.
Survivors include a son, Capt. Paul W. Middents of Silverdale; and two grandchildren, Lisa of North Hampton, Maine, and Dirk of Seattle. Her husband preceded her in death on March 7, 1999.
Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park in Poulsbo, with inurnment at a later date at the First Presbyterian Church cemetery in Kamrar, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to Seminary Scholarship, University of Dubuque, 2050 University, Dubuque, IA 52001.

Herbert Buch
Herbert W. Buch, 78, of Poulsbo died June 21, 1999, in Poulsbo after a lengthy illness.
He was born July 30, 1920, in Keota, Iowa.
He married Diane Drinkwine on Bainbridge Island.
Mr. Buch served in the Navy from 1939 to 1969, receiving various medals and a Bronze Star. He was a survivor of Pearl Harbor.
He retired from Gould Inc. in 1985.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Luckerath of Poulsbo and Mary Welch of Bremerton; two stepdaughters, Pamela Shutes of Poulsbo and Suzanne Kettel of Bremerton; two stepsons, Kevin Shutes of Bainbridge Island and Scott Shutes of Seattle; a brother, Kenneth of Hot Springs, Ark.; five grandchildren, Terri Applegate of Poulsbo, Chris Luckerath of Bainbridge Island, Heather and Billy Kettel, both of Bremerton, and Sarah Shutes of Seattle; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Olaf's Catholic Church in Poulsbo, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
