Josephine O'Keefe
Josephine O'Keefe, 82, of Bremerton died Sept. 13, 1999, in Kent.
She was born Oct. 25, 1916, in Cambria, Wyo., to Peter and Esther (Ossna) Prevedel. She grew up in Edgemont, S.D.
She married Roger O'Keefe on Feb. 12, 1942, in South Dakota. He preceded her in death March 27, 1976.
Mrs. O'Keefe had worked as a bookkeeper for the Boy Scouts of America in Bremerton and for Olympic Realty in Bremerton.
Survivors include a son, Gary of Kent; three sisters, Rosie Fowler of Seattle, Edith Fowler of Boise, Idaho, and Mary Jane Casady of Morrison, Colo.; and five grandchildren, Roger, Kenneth, Sean and Christopher O'Keefe, all of Kent, and Krista Caskey of West Seattle. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael O'Keefe.
A memorial service was held Saturday at her home. Inurnment will take place under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Lealand Seachord
Lealand George Seachord, 67, of Kingston died Sept. 17, 1999, in Bremerton.
He was born July 3, 1932, in Grand Junction, Colo. He grew up in Washington.
He married Darlene Wellman on June 11, 1955, in Bremerton.
Mr. Seachord worked in masonry as a hod carrier. He retired in 1985.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Terry, Tim, Tom, Tony, Ted and Tracy, all of Kingston; a brother, Gay of Bremerton; three sisters, Joy Bales of Bremerton, Dottie Ahrens of Tacoma and Shirley Shatton of Port Orchard; and numerous grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Geraldine Watts
Geraldine B. Watts, 63, a resident of Lakebay for three years and formerly of Bremerton, died Sept. 16, 1999.
She was born April 10, 1936, in Bremerton. She was a homemaker and actively supported True Vine Ministries.
Survivors include three sons, Tom Browne and Paul Payton, both of Washington state, and Christian Watts of Maryland; four daughters, Jennifer Gamble of Florida and Jody Watts, Sharon Gold and Shelly Watts, all of Maryland; two sisters, Gloria Hansen of Washington state and Sharon Veach of Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Watts.
Arrangements are under the direction of Haven of Rest Funeral Home of Gig Harbor. Memorial donations may be made to True Vine Ministries, P.O. Box 698, Olmito, TX 78575.

Betty Bille
Betty Louise Bille, 79, of Silverdale died Sept. 17, 1999, on Bainbridge Island after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She was born March 2, 1920, in Mitchell, S.D., to Gus and Evelyn (Newman) Splitt. She grew up in South Dakota, graduating from Dakota Weslyn University in 1942 with a bachelor of arts degree in language and literature.
After college graduation, she taught school in Alexandria, S.D. During World War II, she worked for the Signal Corps in Washington, D.C., as a cryptologist.
After the war, she moved to Bremerton where she was employed by the Kitsap Medical Bureau (later known as KPS). She was a data processing manager for the bureau, retiring in 1977 after 25 years.
She married Reece Bille on Feb. 9, 1951, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1980.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Bille was a toastmistress in Bremerton for 10 years, a member of the Data Processing Management Association for 12 years and a member of the Medical Care Plan Administrators Society.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Dickson of Bellevue and David Dickson of Bremerton; a daughter, Janice Lewis of Bremerton; a brother, Douglas Splitt of Mitchell, S.D.; and four grandchildren, Pam Dickson, Bryan Dickson, Sara Dickson and Kristie Lewis.
A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Western and Central Chapter, 1422 NW 85th St., Seattle, WA 98117-4236.

Zelda Phillips
Zelda D. Phillips, 72, of Poulsbo died Sept. 20, 1999, at Harrison Hospital of breast cancer.
She was born July 1, 1927, in Tacoma to Clarence and Lillian (Adams) Evans. She grew up in Tacoma.
She retired in 1987 as the food service manager of the Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific's cafeteria.
Survivors include her husband, Duane D. Phillips of Poulsbo; a daughter, Elizabeth Johnson of Middletown, R.I.; two sons, Roy Reece of Poulsbo and Byron Reece of Montana; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Florence Davis
Florence McCall Davis, 85, a former Port Orchard resident living recently on Bainbridge Island, died Sept. 17, 1999, at Messenger House on the island.
She was born March 3, 1914, in Seattle to James and Ann (Smith) McCall. She graduated from a Canadian college and from the University of Washington.
She taught at Marcus Whitman Junior High School in South Kitsap, retiring in 1972. She taught in Blackfoot, Idaho, and Morton in this state before coming to the South Kitsap School District.
She was a member of Elim Lutheran Church in South Kitsap, Port Orchard Yacht Club, Sidney Museum and Art Association and the Dr. G.L. Allen Orthopedic Guild.
She married V. Dale Davis on March 25, 1942. He died in 1996.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean Chynoweth of Manchester and Judy Booker of Seattle; a brother, James McCall of Eugene, Ore., three grandchildren, Kristen Lundquist of Seattle, Jennifer Nation of Port Orchard and Carrie Booker of Seattle; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled at St. Bede's Episcopal Church in South Kitsap at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association, Western and Central Washington State chapter, 1422 NW 85th St., Seattle 98117.

Donald Quick
Donald N. Quick, 61, of Seabeck died Sept. 17, 1999, at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.
He was born Feb. 17, 1938, in Portland.
He and his wife, Kim, were married Dec. 15, 1989, in Bremerton. She survives him.
After he graduated from Forks High School, he and family members owned and operated Smokehouse restaurants in Forks, Spokane and Bremerton, along with D.N. Quick Construction, general contractors, in Bremerton since 1983.
He was a Lion and a life member of the Mt. Olympus Lodge, F&AM;, in Forks.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Todd and Derek, both of Sequim; two stepsons David and Mark Shoemaker, both of Renton; a stepdaughter, Lisa Bennett of Bremerton; a sister, Linda Sundberg of George; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Bremerton.
Cremation arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton.

Gerald Carlson
Gerald Emery Carlson, 83, of Poulsbo died Sept. 16, 1999, at Harrison Hospital of leukemia.
He was born April 26, 1916, in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle to Nels and Jennie (Hagstrom) Carlson. He lived on his grandfather's homestead in the North Kitsap area that used to be known as Pearson and attended North Kitsap schools.
Carlson married June Anderson on May 31, 1941.
He worked at several industries in Seattle, and also did work on Grand Coulee and Ross dams. In August of 1940, he began working in the Quality Evaluation Lab at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport and worked there and at the Naval Submarine Base at Bangor until his retirement in 1971.
Carlson was a life member of the Warren G. Harding Lodge No. 260 F. & A.M. of Poulsbo, a commissioner for the Port of Pearson and a member of Keyport's Boy Scout Troop No. 561. He was involved in the formation of the original Pearson Pee Wees baseball and basketball teams from 1948 to the mid-1950s.
Carlson is survived by his wife; a son, Dan Carlson of Poulsbo; a daughter, Aloha Waggoner of Plano, Texas; a sister, Phyllis Maurer of Poulsbo; four grandchildren, Holly Voss of Wautauga, Texas, Brian Curtis of Huntington Beach, Calif., Dennis Wilson of Oakwood Hill, Ill., and Sean Carlson of Poulsbo; and five great-grandchildren.
Masonic funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove.
Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park, with inurnment at Mountain View cemetery in Silverdale.
Memorial donations may be made to the Poulsbo Ambulance Fund or another charity of your choice.

Sarah Catania
Sarah Jean Catania, 80, of Hansville died Aug. 26, 1999. She was born Oct. 10, 1918.
She is survived by three children, Anthony Catania, Nancy Dean and Terri Catania; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will take place on the family farm in Hansville near her husband, Tony, who preceded her in death.

Wilma Richardson
Wilma A. Richardson, 86, of Bremerton died Sept. 15, 1999, at her home.
She was born March 28, 1913, in Benchland, Mont., to J. Wilmer and Alice Brown. She grew up in Montana, graduating in 1935 from Billings Polytechnic (now Rocky Mountain College) in Billings, Mont.
She married Kermit Richardson on Sept. 12, 1935, in Glasgow, Mont.
Mrs. Richardson began teaching piano lessons in 1940. She was a piano teacher throughout her life.
She was a member of the Washington State Music Teachers Association since 1940, the National Guild of Piano Teachers, the Order of the Eastern Star, Ladies of Elks, the Wednesday Noon Trio and a Thursday morning bowling league.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Peggy Blanchard of Brier, Wash.; two sons, Bill of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Jim of Palo Alto, Calif.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at St. Luke's Methodist Church in Bremerton. Interment icon will take place at Miller Woodlawn Memorial Park.
