Randolph Severson
Randolph Severson, 91, of Silverdale died of natural causes Dec. 2, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born April 11, 1909, in Blair, Wis. He attended school in Kitsap County.
Mr. Severson served in the Army as a cook during World War II.
He then worked at Darry's Restaurant in Macomb, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Severson of Silverdale; eight stepchildren; a sister, Loise Crosby of Edmonds; and numerous grandchildren.
A funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at Olympic View Community Hall, 13931 Lester Way in Silverdale.

Charles Detilla
Charles Duane Detilla, 79, of Bremerton died Nov. 25, 2000, at Forest Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 7, 1921, in Sunrise, Wyo., to George and Addie (Sweeny) Detilla.
Mr. Detilla served 21 years in the Navy, retiring in 1961. He achieved the rank of 1st class aviation boatswain mate. He received a World War II Victory Medal. Following his retirement from the Navy, he worked in civil service for several years.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Military Order of the Cootie of the United States and the American Legion post 149.
Survivors include his wife, Donna (Cone) Detilla; a daughter, Teri Powell of St. Helens, Ore.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
At his request, no services will be held.
Memorial donations may be made to Heap Good Pup Tent, Military Order of Cootie of U.S., 1929 Sidney Ave., Port Orchard, WA 98366.

Marjorie Holl
Marjorie Holl, 86, of Allyn died of breast cancer Nov. 16, 2000, at Welcome Home Adult Family Living in Puyallup.
She was born Jan. 31, 1914, in Vale, Ore., to Henry and Idella (Gellerman) Jones. She graduated from high school in Beaverton, Ore.
She married Clement J. Holl on Aug. 19, 1939, in Clark County. He preceded her in death in 1996.
She worked at the St. Charles Winery on Stretch Island. She also drove a Grapeview school bus during World War II.
She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Tacoma Orthopedic Association Guild.
Survivors include a stepson, Richard Holl of Silverdale; and a brother, Myron Jones of Redding, Calif. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucile Jones Jolliff and Ruth Jones Davis.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 31, 2001, at the Allyn Historical Church.

Kandi Kingston
Kandis L. "Kandi" Kingston, 50, died Dec. 2, 2000. She was a victim of a vehicle/pedestrian accident at her Port Orchard home.
She was born Dec. 29, 1949, in Puyallup to Lloyd and Laverne (Williams) Hatch. She was a 1968 graduate of Samuel Ayer High School in Milpitas, Calif.
She married Roger G. Kingston on Dec. 4, 1988, in Port Orchard.
Mrs. Kingston was a homemaker and foster parent.
She enjoyed camping and crafts.
Survivors include her husband; her parents, Wayne and Laverne Taylor; four sons, Robert Henke and Benjamin Kingston, both of Port Orchard, Justin Kingston of Tacoma and Eric Kingston of Alaska; four daughters, Staci Henke of Bremerton and Heather, Amianne and Kasandra Kingston, all of Port Orchard; four brothers; four sisters; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Hatch, and a sister, Sandy.
Visitation is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A funeral service is planned for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Rill Chapel. Interment icon will take place at Woodbine cemetery in Puyallup.
Memorial donations may be made to the Kandis Kingston Benevolence Fund, c/o any Bank of America branch.

Leon Martin
Leon W. Martin, 83, of Belfair died of Alzheimer's disease Dec. 1, 2000, at Willow Creek Adult Family Home in Port Orchard.
He was born Oct. 14, 1917, in Chicopee, Mass., to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Martin. He attended high school in Bremerton.
He married Annette Desormier on April 6, 1942, in Fairview, Mass.
He served in the Army from 1937 to 1942, achieving the rank of sergeant.
Mr. Martin later worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 32 years, retiring in 1972.
He enjoyed banjo music and hunting.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Leo of Allyn; a brother, Leo Roy of Chicopee; four sisters, Lillian Champagne, Loretta Slate, Teresa Nadeau and Gloria Slate, all of Belchertown, Mass.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Slate, and two brothers, Elphage and Ronald.
No services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation & Burial Society.

Howard Allison
Howard A. Allison, 62, of Bremerton died of cancer Dec. 2, 2000, in Bremerton.
He was born Dec. 30, 1937, in Greeley, Colo., to Glenn H. and Lucy L. (Reed) Allison.
He married Barbara J. Eckert on Nov. 28, 1971, in Imperial Beach, Calif.
He served in the Navy, retiring in 1988 after 22 years. He achieved the rank of chief quartermaster. Mr. Allison later worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 12 years.
He enjoyed auto racing.
Mr. Allison is survived by his wife; his mother of Denver; three sons, Craig J. Smith, David B. Allison and Glenn H. Allison; a brother, Donald of Fort Collins, Colo.; a sister, Glenda Allison of
Denver; and one grandson.
A memorial service is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday at Subase Chapel Bangor.

Vera Washington
Vera Mae Washington, 79, of Bremerton died Dec. 4, 2000, in Bremerton.
She was born Oct. 13, 1921, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Anthony and Rubena Auer. She graduated from Messmer High School in Milwaukee.
She married Thomas R. Washington in Milwaukee in July of 1949. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Mrs. Washington worked for the B and O Railroad and later at Naval Hospital Bremerton for eight years.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Lady Lions.
Survivors include four sons, Chris of Seattle, Thomas of Bellevue, James of Silverdale and David of Bremerton; a daughter, Mary Ann of Bremerton; a sister, Ruth Knippel of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton. A memorial service will follow.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, 1137 Callow N., Bremerton, WA 98312.

Babe Corak
Orpha "Babe" Corak, 81, of Bremerton died of natural causes Nov. 22, 2000, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation of Oyster Bay.
She was born May 14, 1919, in Colfax to J.K. and Ora (Taylor) Runnings. She was a 1937 graduate of Kellogg High School in Kellogg, Idaho.
She married Anthony Corak on Oct. 15, 1937, in Spokane. He preceded her in death in 1994.
She enjoyed crocheting and bowling. She was a member of the Episcopal church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Helgeson of Port Orchard and Lois Jonkoniec of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Lois Clauson of Bremerton and Wilmoth Soderberg of Spokane; and four grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Esther Sirovy
Esther E. Sirovy, 85, of Poulsbo died Dec. 2, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born June 13, 1915, in Windom, Minn. She graduated in 1936 from Wilder High School in Wilder, Minn.
She married Edwin G. Sirovy on Oct. 28, 1936, in Windom.
She was an accountant at Keyport and Bangor for 22 years, retiring in 1970.
She enjoyed reading the Bible and knitting. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
She is survived by her husband.
Visitation is scheduled from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Monday at Memorial Lutheran Church, 10th Street and Veneta Avenue in Bremerton. A funeral service will follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Lutheran Church Elevator Fund, 916 Veneta Ave., Bremerton, WA 98335.

James Strickland
James Dudley Strickland, 80, of Bremerton died Nov. 26, 2000, at his home.
He was born Sept. 9, 1920, in Detroit, to Emanuel and Myrtle (Whitney) Strickland. He graduated in 1938 from high school in Detroit and attended several art schools, including the Academie de la Grand Chumiere in Paris.
He served in the Navy during World War II, achieving the rank of sonar technician 1st class.
Mr. Strickland was an art teacher in the midwest and in Europe. He displayed his art in several one-person shows.
He enjoyed volunteering at the Seattle Art Gallery.
He is survived by a son, Frederick J. of New Haven, Conn.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park with inurnment at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Roy Claxton
Roy Calvin Claxton, 76, of Lakebay died Dec. 4, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 23, 1924, in Purcell, Okla., to Ed and Sarah Della (Walker) Claxton.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Claxton was a livestock dealer. He also was a welder at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 22 years.
He enjoyed mentoring youth and entertaining friends and family with stories and poetry.
Survivors include a son, Roy Jr.; three daughters, Tarzana Santangelo, Stella Russell and Dana Claxton; a sister, Mona Johnsey; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, B.C.; three sisters, Edith, Roberta and Dorothy; and two grandsons, Jason Cain Claxton and Rocco Vincent Santangelo III.
A graveside service is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Haven of Rest Memorial Park. A celebration of his life will be at 7 p.m. the Lakebay Community Center.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lakebay Community Center.
