Erica Tanguay-Kuhlman
Infant daughter Erica Madilin Tanguay-Kuhlman of Shane Tanguay and Kelly Kuhlman was stillborn July 27, 2001, at Harrison Hospital in Silverdale.
She is survived by her parents of Bremerton; a sister, Ashley Tanguay; and maternal grandparents, Bill and Debbie Kuhlman of Seabeck.
Cremation is under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Jun De Leon Jose
Jun De Leon Jose, 50, of Poulsbo died of a heart attack July 29, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 12, 1950, in Pasay, Philippines, to Candid and Romana Jose. He graduated in 1972 from John F. Kennedy High School in Tamuning, Guam, and from Bates Technical College in Tacoma this year.
He married Nenita Palaganas on June 28, 1973, in Agana, Guam.
Mr. Jose was a civil servant for 15 years. At the time of his death, he worked for U-Haul.
He enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Edwin of Stafford, Texas, and Philbert of Chesapeake, Va.; a daughter, Johanna Jose Rodriguez of Silverdale; five brothers; five sisters; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Danny.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday, both at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. nightly through Tuesday at the family home, 14140 Silverdale Way NW in Poulsbo. A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Donald Porter
Donald L. Porter, 51, of Port Orchard died of natural causes July 28, 2001, in Bremerton.
He was born June 2, 1950, in Benton, Ill., to John and Bernadine (Lowry) Porter. He graduated in 1958 from Springfield High
School in Springfield, Ill. He also attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., and Appalachian Bible College in Bradley, W.Va.
He married Barbara Rexroad on Oct. 13, 1979, in Port Orchard.
He was a chef, most recently at Sidney House Assisted Living in Port Orchard.
He enjoyed gardening and prayer, and was a member of the Port Orchard Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his mother of Springfield; five sons, Benjamin, Marshall, Justin, Aaron and Wade; a daughter, Pamela Rose of Port Orchard; and a brother, John R. Jr., of Riverton, Ill.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Port Orchard Church of the Nazarene. Inurnment will be at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to Appalachian Bible College, P.O. Box ABC, Bradley, WV 25818.

William Larson
William M. Larson, 85, of Bremerton died July 29, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Sept. 5, 1915, in New England, N.D., to Ivar and Alma (Anderson) Larson. He graduated from high school in New England.
He served in the Army from 1941 to 1945. He was awarded several citations, including the meritorious service unit badge with three battle stars of the European, African and Middle Eastern Theater Campaign and the American Defense Service Ribbon with six overseas service bars.
He later worked for Pacific Northwest Bell for 36 years, retiring in 1977.
He enjoyed sports music.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Greg of Bremerton; a daughter, Mary Ellen Lagasse of Renton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Hilton, Clarence and Larry; and two sisters, Myrtle Adamson and Alice Mary Burwick.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with a funeral Mass immediately following. Interment icon will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 4414 Woodland Park Ave. N., Seattle WA 98103-7499.

Joe Kerkes
Joseph "Joe" Kerkes, 87, of Port Orchard died following a lengthy illness, July 27, 2001, at Ridgemont Terrace.
He was born Jan. 23, 1914, in Stelba, Czechoslovakia, to Stephen and Julia (Ferdmanski) Kerkes. He was a 1956 graduate of Bremerton High School.
He married Lorraine Greenwood on June 22, 1944, in Port Orchard.
He was a shipfitter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for more than 33 years, retiring in 1972.
He was a member of the Port Orchard Eagles Aerie 2338. He enjoyed tractors.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gary of Port Orchard, Dale of La Crescenta, Calif., and Wayne of Longbranch; two brothers, Bill and Robert "Ken, " both of Great Falls, Mont.; a sister, Helen LuKoch of Renton; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Port Orchard Eagles Club. Cremation is under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Barry Parmer
Barry E. Parmer, 77, of Port Orchard died of heart failure July 29, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Kitchner, Ontario, Canada, to Baciel and Norma (Howake) Parmer. He attended Kitchner High School.
He married Rose Marie Burk on July 31, 1953, in Villa Acuna, Mexico.
He served one year in the Canadian Air Force before joining the U.S. Air Force, where he served 20 years. He earned several military achievement awards.
Mr. Parmer later worked on torpedos at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport, retiring in 1986 after 13 years.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a Protestant.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Buck and Brad, both of Port Orchard; two daughters, Lynne of Port Orchard and Karen of Bremerton; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A gathering of family and friends will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Buck and Kathy Parmer residence. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.

Patricia Maibaum
Patricia Eileen Maibaum, 40, of Port Ludlow died July 23, 2001, at her home.
She was born Nov. 18, 1960, in Seattle to James and Norma Jean (Hansen) Collins. She graduated from Blanchet High School in Seattle and from Seattle Community College.
She married Michael Alan Maibaum on Sept. 12, 1986.
Survivors include her husband; her parents; a brother, James Collins; and three sisters, Jeanne Weeks, Susan Lutgen and Nancy Swartout.
Visitation, a rosary and and a funeral Mass were observed Friday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Bremerton. Arrangements were under the direction of Kosec Funeral Home in Port Townsend.

Walt Bame
LaVon Walter "Walt" Bame, 73, of Port Orchard died of natural causes July 27, 2001, in Port Orchard.
He was born March 12, 1928, in Langley to Myrtle (Spragg) Bame. He attended South Kitsap High School.
Mr. Bame served in the Army from 1949 to 1951.
He married Opeal Simpson on June 13, 1959, in Bremerton.
Mr. Bame was a sheetmetal mechanic at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 31 years, retiring in 1986.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Walter of Graybull, Wyo.; two daughters, Annette Peebles of Hermitage, Ark., and Barbara Pusateri of Port Orchard; a stepson, Richard Conrad of Port Orchard; a stepdaughter, Melva Conrad of Port Orchard; a sister, Betty Hendrickson of Grayland; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Spragg in 1999.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.

John Karganilla
John Karganilla, 92, of Olalla died July 29, 2001, at his home.
He was born June 9, 1909, in the Philippines to Agapito and Paula (Nebres) Karganilla.
He married Florence Sandberg. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Karganilla worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until his retirement.
He enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a son, Alan of Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Marcia Brooke of Vaughn and Belinda Cyr of Olalla; and two grandchildren.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society.

Rita Petriello
Audrey "Rita" Petriello, 78, of Bremerton died of congestive heart failure July 28, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Sept. 2, 1922, in St. Johns New Brunswick, Canada, to William and Margaret Landry.
She married Gaetano "Pete" Petriello on Dec. 13, 1949, in San Diego.
Mrs. Petriello enjoyed country- western line dancing and playing bingo. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Kathy Jandzinski and Debbie Hughes, both of Bremerton, and Patti Winter of Sekiu; three sisters, Gloria Houle and Laverne Bernier, both of Leominster, Mass., and Gerry Pinault of Hollywood, Fla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Molly Lanza.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 4414 Woodland Park Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98103.

John Pepper
John J. Pepper, also known as "Ivan L. Kvistad, " 71, of Poulsbo died of natural causes July 27, 2001, in Bremerton.
He was born May 10, 1930, in Bremerton to Oscar and Tessie (Burns) Kvistad. He graduated from Bremerton High School, from the California School of Mortuary Science and from Olympic College.
Mr. Kvistad served in the Army from 1953 to 1955.
He was a funeral director and as an ordnanceman in civil service at the Naval Submarine Base Bangor. He was retired.
Mr. Kvistad enjoyed motorcycles and old movies.
Survivors include a son, Lynn of Oregon; two daughters, Linda Kelly of Poulsbo and Anna Carter of Port Orchard; two brothers, Jack Kvistad of Bremerton and Ed Kvistad of Silverdale; a sister, Allene Ramirez of Chelan; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
A graveside service will be from 1 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn cemetery.
