Katie Eigner
Kiyoko "Katie" Eigner, 71, of Bremerton died after a lengthy illness June 3, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born June 27, 1929, in Singapore to Rui Nagaishi.
She married Robert Eigner on Jan. 24, 1963, in Fukuoka, Japan.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Mike of Bremerton, Akira of San Diego, Kenji of Simi Valley, Calif., and Patrick of Everett; a daughter, Kathleen Miller of Oak Harbor; and five grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.

Delano Thompson
Delano E. Thompson, 63, of Port Orchard died June 4, 2001, at Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma.
He was born June 29, 1937, in Hibbing, Minn. He attended high school in Hibbing.
Mr. Thompson served in the Navy from 1954 to 1978, retiring as a chief gunner's mate. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal.
Mr. Thompson later was a handyman.
He enjoyed flower gardening and the outdoors.
He is survived by his companion, Beverly Randall of Port Orchard; a sister, Delores Johnson of Duluth, Minn.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Ruth Nuckols
Ruth P. Nuckols, 90, of Silverdale died June 5, 2001, at Forest Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Oct. 19, 1910, in Minneapolis to August and Rena (Lazrus) Schlener. She graduated from South Dakota State Teachers College and from the University of Nebraska in Omaha, Neb.
She married Damon Nuckols. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Mrs. Nuckols was a teacher, retiring in 1976.
She enjoyed art and gardening. She was a member of the Edmonds Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Bryce of Victor, Mont., Bert of Silverdale and John Paul of Coon Rapids, Minn.; a daughter, Bonnie Gustafson of Bothell; and two brothers, John Schlener of Spokane and Paul Schlener of Moses Lake.
Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. today, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m., both at Silverdale Baptist Church, 8278 Highway 303. Interment icon will be at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.

Frances Sabo
Frances Louise Sabo, 89, of Bremerton died of cancer June 3, 2001, at her home.
She was born Nov. 9, 1911, in Cleveland to Joseph and Lillian (Jankovsky) Knapp. She graduated in 1927 from Green High School in Green, Ohio.
She married Julius Sabo on June 13, 1931, in Ohio.
Mrs. Sabo was a Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Joan Brewer of Purdy, Sondra Martin of Seattle and Paula Rodriguez of Sea-Tac; a brother, Richard Knapp of Springhill, Fla.; two sisters, Marie Shupska of Geneva, Ohio, and Betty Schuster of Apopka, Fla.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Monday at the Bremerton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Private interment will be at Forest Lawn cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Brenda Sieniarecki
Brenda Karen Sieniarecki, 50, of Bremerton died June 1, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born June 12, 1950, in North Carolina to Paul and Arlene (Watkins) Parris.
She was a retail sales clerk for many years.
Survivors include her former husband, Jim Castle of Bremerton; a son, Anthony Castle of Bremerton; four brothers, Clifton Parris Jr. of Eastern Washington, Brian Straight of Longview and Paul Parris and Marc Straight, both of Lacey; and three sisters, Cathy Doney of Silverdale, Patricia Parris of Olympia and Jami Hansen of Kent.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel, with private interment at Forest Lawn cemetery.

Robert Farmer
Robert L. Farmer, 70, of Bremerton died June 5, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born April 4, 1931, in Bremerton to Lester A. and Gladys (Decker) Farmer. He graduated in 1949 from Bremerton High School and in 1951 from Olympic College. He attended the University of Washington in Seattle.
He married Mildred E. Showalter on Feb. 2, 1951.
Mr. Farmer worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 35 years, retiring in 1985 as a nuclear reactor foreman.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a Catholic.
His survivors are his wife; and two sons, Robert and Stephen. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas.
A rosary will be said at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Entombment will be at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Donald Kenoyer
Former Port Orchard resident Donald Eugene Kenoyer, 87, died of cancer May 14, 2001, at his home in Hemet, Calif.
He was born Feb. 17, 1914, in Blaine. He graduated in 1934 from Anacortes High School and attended Bellingham Normal School.
He married Helen Duranceau in June 1937 in Anacortes.
Mr. Kenoyer worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 26 years, retiring in 1970 as a foreman in Shop 06.
He enjoyed golf and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James of South Colby and Gerald of Torrance, Calif.; four sisters, Eva DoBoff of Port Orchard, Ethel Hamann of Mesa, Ariz., Roberta Chase of Seattle and Gladys Deahl of Spokane; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jean (Kenoyer) Halstead; and a brother, Manford.
Inurnment is private.

James Rash
Former Bremerton resident James Vernon Rash, 70, died of heart failure May 28, 2001, at his home in Bakersfield, Calif.
He was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Bisbee, Ariz., to Floyd A. and Sibyl D. (Prater) Rash. He graduated in 1949 from Stockdale High School in Stockdale, Calif., and in 1951 from the University of Southern California in Bakersfield.
He married Ethel Frances "Fran" Oakley on Nov. 13, 1970, in Bakersfield.
Mr. Rash served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 as a combat engineer, achieving the rank of corporal. He was awarded the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
He was a printer at The Sun newspaper and owned Jim's Silverdale Enco. He retired in 1997.
Mr. Rash enjoyed movies and spending time with his family. He was a member of Lamont Baptist Church in Lamont, Calif.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ric Williams and David and Jeffery Rash; a daughter, Kandi Anderson; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Atholene "Rae" Eastman, in 1999, and a brother, Jack.
A funeral service and interment were held in Bakersfield under the direction of Basham Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association or to American Cancer Society.

Valborg Culbertson
Valborg Villia Culbertson, 88, of Bremerton died June 6, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Oct. 22, 1912, in Copenhagen, Denmark.
She married Harold Culbertson on March 24, 1951.
Mrs. Culbertson was a licensed practical nurse at Harrison Hospital for 22 years, retiring in 1978.
She was a member of the Ladies of Elks and enjoyed playing pinochle.
She is survived by her husband.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Ruth Conklin
Former Bremerton resident Ruth M. Conklin, 88, of Phoenix died June 1, 2001, in Phoenix.
She was born Aug. 1, 1912, in Kansas City to James and Viola (McDonald) Holt.
She was a blueprint operator at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 20 years.
Survivors include two sons, Robert of Sandy, Utah, and Bud of Lawndale, Calif.; a brother, James of Lynnwood; two sisters, Clara Keller of San Diego and Viola Stahl of Fruita, Colo.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Conklin, in 1950.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Friday, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m., both at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Marge Williams Hansen
Margaret "Marge" Williams Hansen, 72, of Bainbridge Island died May 30, 2001, in Seattle.
She was born March 17, 1929, in Aberdeen.
She worked at Pacific Northwest Bell and AT&T for 25 years, retiring in 1983.
She enjoyed gardening and reading. She was an Episcopalian.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Hansen of Arlington, Va., and Margaret Hansen Kratka of Philomath, Ore.; two brothers, Reimon Tallada of Kalispell, Mont., and Jan Tallada of Yakima; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher; and her husband, Robert Hansen, in 1990.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 1187 Wyatt Way on Bainbridge Island.

Raymond Nix
Raymond Jack Nix, 57, of Olalla died June 4, 2001, at home.
He was born Aug. 22, 1943, in Coranodo, Calif., to Jack and Jacquelin (McDonald) Nix. He was a 1977 graduate of Poway High School in Poway, Calif.; a 1981 graduate of National University in San Diego, Calif., and also a 1983 graduate of Denver University also in San Diego.
He served in the Navy from 1961 to 1980 and continued in the reserves until 1989. He earned the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He married Barbara Valdez on May 24, 1969, in La Puente, Calif.
He worked for The Boeing Co. for 11 years and was a professor at St. Martin's College for two years.
He enjoyed teaching and watching children's sports.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Gig Harbor.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Jackie of Arizona; a son, Aaron of Sultan; two daughters, Joan of Olalla and Francesca of Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Steven and Alan, both of Arizona; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, both at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Tahoma National cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Martin's College.
