Dorothy Johanson
Dorothy Mae Johanson, 77, of Poulsbo died of cancer March 24, 2001, at Virginia Mason Medical Center.
She was born July 12, 1923, in Kingston to Arthur E. and Hilda (Thompson) Carlson. She attended North Kitsap High School.
She married Arthur E. Johanson on Oct. 1, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1988.
She had worked with her family at the Carlson Dairy in Kingston. At the time of her marriage, she became a homemaker.
Mrs. Johanson was a member of the Lemolo Home Ec Club and bowled with numerous leagues. She was a member of North Kitsap Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Allen of Silverdale; a daughter, Carol Davis of Ocean City; a brother, Glen Carlson of Poulsbo; a sister, Thelma Finseth of Poulsbo; and two grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a grandson; and a brother, Alfred Carlson.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service. Interment icon will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Graham Allen
Graham Marlow Allen, 71, of Silverdale died March 24, 2001, at his home.
He was born March 16, 1930, in Magna, Utah, to Evan Bassett Allen and Margaret Louie (Marlow) Allen. He graduated from college in Utah.
Mr. Allen served in the Air Force in the 1950s.
Before joining the Air Force, he worked for a telephone company out of Salt Lake City. In the 1960s, he was manager of Olympic Telephone Company in Kingston.
He enjoyed gardening and was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include a son, Jeffery of Aloha, Ore.; three daughters, Becca Allen of Woodburn, Ore., Debra Epperson of Michigan Center, Mich., and Dawn Morrow of Olalla; two brothers, Wallace and Dean; and numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas.
The family is planning a private get-together at the home of Dawn Morrow.

Helen Harmon
Helen Clara Harmon, 89, of Poulsbo died March 24, 2001, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center.
She was born July 10, 1911, in Chicago to Alfred and Clara (Yerkea) Lange. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma in 1930, and later from Knapp Business College in Tacoma.
She married Wilford Harmon on Sept. 28, 1935, in Tacoma. He preceded her in death in 1987.
A homemaker, Mrs. Harmon also was a secretary for Floyd Beem Insurance in Seattle, retiring in 1951.
She enjoyed flowers. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Tacoma.
Survivors include two sons, Richard of Suquamish and Dale of Bremerton; three sisters, Norma Scheidleman, Vera Heritage and Herta Bullock, all of Tacoma; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church of Tacoma. Arrangements are by Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel, with cremation at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.

Wayne McAllister
Wayne Taylor McAllister, 71, of Port Orchard died of lung cancer March 18, 2001, at the Washington Veterans Home in Retsil.
He was born Jan. 26, 1930, in Omak to James and Mae McAllister. He attended high school in Tacoma, later earning his GED while serving in the Air Force.
Mr. McAllister served in the Air Force for 17 years. He was a fire training school teacher, achieving the rank of sergeant and receiving numerous medals.
He married Suzanne Kleiva. They later divorced.
Survivors include his former wife; three daughters, Diana Jones of Tacoma, and two daughters living in Holland; a sister, Barbara Williams of Tacoma; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Washington Veterans Home.

Richard Ramp
Richard Lee Ramp, 66, of Port Orchard died March 23, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 6, 1934, in LaPorte, Ind., to Harry and Helen (Ivey) Ramp. He graduated from LaPorte High School in 1952, and from the University of California in Northridge, Calif., in 1966.
He married Anne E. Talbot on Aug. 29, 1959, in Las Vegas.
Mr. Ramp served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956, achieving the rank of airman first class.
He worked for The Boeing Co. in Seattle for 23 years, retiring as a project manager in 1995.
He enjoyed golf and was a member of a German men's choir in Seattle. He also was a member of the Episcopal church.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; two sons, David of Woodinville and Ronald of Seattle; two brothers, Herbert Ramp and Robert Hanson, both of LaPorte; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Ramp.
Services will be private, with inurnment at Pine Lake cemetery in LaPorte. Arrangements are by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Joseph Short
Joseph Earl Short, 59, of Gig Harbor died March 22, 2001, in Tacoma.
He was born March 24, 1941, in Kadoka, S.D., to Earl W. and Mary Ann (Durston) Short.
Mr. Short had been a grocery market worker with Thriftway, Bag-n-Save and QFC. His career spanned 35 years.
He was a member of the Lions Club, the Gig Harbor City Board and Peninsula Lutheran Church in Gig Harbor.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Sherrill (Strom) Short; his mother, of Port Orchard; a son, Mark of Tacoma; two daughters, Cmdr. Catherine Costin, stationed in Sicily with the Navy, and Cheryl Passantino of Renton; and five grandchildren.
Interment will be at 4 p.m. today at Haven of Rest Memorial Park in Gig Harbor. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Peninsula Lutheran Church.

Ruby Crowell
Ruby L. Crowell, 88, of Bremerton died March 23, 2001, in Bremerton from complications of cancer.
She was born May 22, 1912, in Bryant, Ark., to Arthur and Ollie (Edmondson) Millard. She graduated from high school in Monterey Park, Calif.
She married John W. Crowell.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and photography. She was a Protestant.
She is survived by two sons, Jack R. Alexander of Bremerton and Bob Brandenburg of Heffley Creek, B.C.; two daughters, Barbara Jean Crocket of Port Orchard and Judy Pritchard of Toledo, Wash.; and two brothers, Alfred S. Millard of Bakersfield, Calif., and Francis M. Millard; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Miller-Woodlawn Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Samantha Harnish
Samantha Elaine Harnish was stillborn March 22, 2001, at Harrison Hospital in Silverdale.
She is survived by her parents, Robert Harnish and Jessica Butler; maternal grandparents, Anthony and Barbara Butler of Bremerton; paternal grandparents, Robert D. Harnish and Janis E. Lunney of California.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Karen Frazier
Karen Frazier, 49, of Port Orchard died of respiratory disease March 20, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born Dec. 5, 1951.
She was a secretary and enjoyed reading and current events.
She was a Christian.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby and Chris Bryden, both of San Marcos, Calif.; and a sister, Joyce Snyder of Port Orchard.
Memorial donations may be made to Easter Seal Society of Washington.

Wendell Hubbell
Former Bremerton resident, Wendell L. Hubbell, 84, of Mount Vernon died March 21, 2001, at Life Care Center in Mount Vernon.
He was born March 13, 1917, in Seattle to Lee and Margaret (Hamilton) Hubbell.
He made a career of the Army, serving in World War II, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. Later, he worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in the supply department.
He was a member of Manette Community Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred (Doughty) Hubbell of Port Orchard; a son, Clay of Seattle; a daughter, Tammy Rae of Mount Vernon; a sister, Marjorie Schmuck of Poulsbo; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evalyn Virdelle Chase and Lois Etue; and a brother, Glen Hubbell, all of Seattle.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Teri Van Rossum
Teri Lynn Von Rossum, 36, died at her Grapeview residence March 22, 2001.
She was born July 12, 1964, in California to Harley and Toni Andersen. She attended school in Fresno, Calif.
She married John Van Rossum on May 26, 1984, in Bremerton.
She was a homemaker and volunteer firefighter at the Mason County Fire Department, District 3.
She enjoyed music and singing and shared her skills with the children of Lincoln Avenue Bible Church.
Survivors include her husband; her parents of New Mexico; a son, Jonathan; a daughter, Kalie; and a brother, Mark Andersen of New Mexico.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday at Lincoln Avenue Bible Church, 1250 Lincoln Ave., in Bremerton.
Memorial donations may be made to Mason County Christian School, 470 E. Eagle Ridge Drive, Shelton, WA 98584.
