Wayne Maeirt
Wayne L. Maeirt, 79, of Bremerton died of progressive supranuclear palsy Feb. 28, 2001, in Bremerton.
He was born July 2, 1921, in Moundridge, Kan., to Samuel and Frieda (Fensky) Maeirt. He was a 1941 graduate of Moundridge High School.
He served in the Navy in the Philippines from 1942 to 1945.
He married Frances Malenovsky on Sept. 8, 1972, in Reno, Nev.
He was a sheet-metal mechanic at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 30 years, retiring in 1977.
He was a member of the VFW Post No. 04992 and NARFE.
He was a member of the Silverdale Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Connie Kindelspire of Walla Walla and Lisa Shermoen of Fairfield, Calif.; a brother, Maurice of Bremerton; a sister, Marjorie Wood of Silverdale; two stepdaughters, Linda Helfrick of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Barbara Lewis of Port Angeles; a stepson, Kenneth Phillips of Matlock; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne; a brother, Samuel Jr.; and a sister, Hazel Friend.
A memorial service was held Monday at Silverdale Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under
the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Evelyn Nesser
Evelyn M. Nesser, 75, of Bremerton died March 2, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born in Tacoma on April 17, 1925, to Alec and Margaret (Kline) Cloquet.
She enjoyed being a mother to her 11 children, playing pool and bowling.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Thompson of Bonney Lake, Charles Thompson of Port Orchard, and Kerry Nesser of Silverdale; six daughters, Katherine Thompson of Port Orchard, Candace Atchinson of Belfair, Elizabeth Day of South Prairie, Alma Allpress of Bremerton, Esther Bonneville of Seabeck and Dixie Sherbon of Sandpoint, Idaho; a sister, Alice Decker of Port Angeles; a brother, Richard Cloquet of Oregon; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Thompson and Margaret Thompson; and a brother, Robert Cloquet.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Carolyn Buswell
Carolyn Geneva Buswell, 65, died March 3, 2001, at her Bremerton residence.
She was born March 3, 1936, in Greenville, S.C., to Ernest and Marie (Taylor) Hughes.
She married Robert Buswell on July 2, 1954, in Monks Corner, S.C.
She was a member of Kitsap Golf & Country Club and TOPS local 276. She also was a member of Bremerton Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her husband; her mother; two sons, Marty and Scott of Bremerton; a daughter, Tammy Cook of Olympia; seven brothers, Billy, Ronnie, Bobby, Charles, Tommy, Kenny and Randy, all of Charleston, S.C.; three sisters, Marilyn, Jamie and Linda, all of Charleston; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Hughes.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday at Bremerton Church of the Nazarene. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at New Tacoma cemetery, 9221 Chambers Creek Road in Tacoma. Local arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Bremerton Church of the Nazarene, 924 Sheridan Road, Bremerton, WA 98310.

Blanche Turner
Blanche Turner, 90, of Shelton died March 3, 2001, in Shelton.
She was born June 4, 1910, in Bremerton. She attended high school in Port Orchard.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Art Guild.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ellen Remington of Olympia; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Turner; and her husband in 1962.
Visitation is planned from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Western & Central Chapter, 12721 30th Ave. NE, Suite 101, Seattle, WA 98125.

Velma Hensley
Velma Ruth Hensley, 74,
of Seabeck died of cancer March 3, 2001, at home.
She was born June 29, 1926, in Parma, Mo., to Benjamin and Sophia (Nelson) Cowan. She was a 1944 graduate of Bernie High School in Bernie, Mo., and attended Northland Pioneer College in Snowflake, Ariz.
She married Charles Hensley on June 5, 1945, in Vallejo, Calif. He preceded her in death in 1984.
She served as postmistress in Taylor, Ariz., for 25 years, retiring in 1988.
She enjoyed cake decorating and oil painting. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include four sons, Charles Duane Hensley of Taylor, Steven Keith Hensley of Elma, Jeffrey Art Hensley of Seabeck and Charles Junior Hensley of Concho, Ariz.; a daughter, Fay Chycomb of Eagar, Ariz.; two sisters, Ola Baker of Springfield, Mo., and Ruby Hicks of Pontiac, Mich.; 19 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren; She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce; two sisters, Eva Fletcher and Flossie March; and a brother, William Cowan.
Visitation was held Monday. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lovelake Chapel in Taylor. Local arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Cinnamon Zavala
Cinnamon Zavala, 31, of Bremerton died March 1, 2001, at home.
She was born June 5, 1969, in Jacksonville, Fla. She attended Bremerton High School.
She married Andrew Zavala on Dec. 5, 2000, in Las Vegas.
Survivors include her husband of Bremerton; her parents, Robert and Geraldine Squire of Bremerton and Thomas and Theresa Mancuso of Florida; a brother, Tony Mancuso of Seattle; and grandmothers Mary Brown of Mount Vernon and Helen Mancuso of Palmer, Mass.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Walter Sizemore
Walter Eugene Sizemore, 71, of Belfair died Feb. 28, 2001, at home.
He was born Feb. 14, 1930, in Ramona, Okla., to Barney and Ida (Sisemore) Sizemore. He graduated from Belfair High School.
He married Kum Cha Song in 1982 in Bremerton.
He served in the Army, achieving the rank of staff sergeant.
He was a carpenter at Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport.
He was protestant.
Survivors include his wife; his mother of Yakima; two daughters, Shellie Gartman and Christine Sizemore, both of Phoenix; three sisters, Shirley Drake of Yakima, Clara West of Sagle, Idaho, and Ann Lilienthal; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Tahoma National cemetery. Inurnment will take place at Tahoma National cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Gladys Bilden
Gladys Irene Bilden, 85, of Bremerton died of natural causes March 1, 2001, at Bremerton Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 18, 1915, in Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Paul and Mary (Forst) Edie.
She and Victor Charles Bilden were married in Tacoma on Oct. 12, 1946.
She served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1941 to 1945, attaining the rank of sergeant. Since then, she has been a housewife and seamstress. She attended Sylvan Way Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert of Gainesville, Fla.; a daughter, Vicki Lynn Pasquali of Hopatcong, N.J.; a brother, George Edie of Langham, Saskatchewan; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Her husband and a daughter, MaryAnn Kalmbach, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Sylvan Way Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made to the church at 900 Sylvan Way, Bremerton, WA 98310.

Dennis Allen
Dennis Nelson Allen, 53, of Tahuya, died of a massive coronary Feb. 22, 2001, on Elfandahl Pass Road in Belfair.
He was born July 12, 1947, in Seattle, to Joseph and Edith (Bowman) Allen. He attended Evergreen High School in Seattle.
He was a bartender.
He enjoyed photography, penguins and tie-dyeing.
Survivors include his parents; a daughter, Teresa Allen-Hein of Federal Way; two sisters, Cindy Calton of Wilkerson and Mary Fuzzell of Burien; and one grandchild.
A memorial is planned for 1 p.m. Sunday at Home Chapel, 421 West F Street in Shelton.

Jeneau Juneau
Baby girl Jeneau was stillborn Feb. 23, 2001, at Harrison Hospital-Silverdale to Robin and Timothy Juneau.
Survivors include her parents of Silverdale; a sister, Jasmine; and her grandparents, Floyd and Linda Overton and Ronald and Maureen Juneau.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Robert Johnson
Robert Wesley Johnson, 75, of Poulsbo, died Feb. 27, 2001, at Martha and Mary Health Care Center.
He was born June 16, 1925, in Port Gamble to Emanuel and Ada (Nordlund) Johnson. He graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1943.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp as a staff sergeant from 1943 to 1945 earning the Bronze Service Star and the Air Medal.
He was a machinist at Keyport.
He enjoyed gardening and was an inventor.
He was a Christian.
Survivors include a son, Robert Johnson Jr. of Elma; a daughter, Shirley Mae Fitzpatric of Everett; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene in 1992.
A private graveside service will be held at Breidablik Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
