Robert Dunphy
Robert F. Dunphy, 66, of Bremerton died Jan. 14, 2002, at his home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1935, in Alameda, Calif., to Robert and Bernice Dunphy.
Mr. Dunphy served in the Navy for 20 years, retiring as a senior chief.
He was active in community theater throughout Kitsap County.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa (Yasis) Dunphy; two sons, Robert of San Diego and Amer of Bremerton; three daughters, Joycelyn Persichilli of Escondido, Calif., Theresa Brunston of Lemon Grove, Calif., and Ninette Stanton of Bonita, Calif.; one sister, June Marie Reid of Novato, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donal.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service today at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to a community theater of the donor's choice.

Dave McKee
J.D. "Dave" McKee, 86, of Allyn died from complications of pneumonia Jan. 13, 2002, at Northwoods Lodge in Silverdale.
He was born Jan. 25, 1915, in Camp Crook, S.D.
Mr. McKee served with the Navy Seabees during World War II.
He was trained by his father to be a carpenter and spent most of his life supervising commercial construction projects, including dams, bridges and sawmills.
In the early 1960s, he co-founded Prime Construction Co., serving as president for 12 years. After retirement from that firm, he founded McKee Construction Co. in 1976 with two of his sons.
Mr. McKee was an honorary lifetime member of the Associated General Contractors of Washington. He was a longtime member of the Burien Elks and was active in the Spikehorns RV Club for many years. While raising his three sons, he was active in many school and community organizations, including Cub and Boy Scouts.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, D. Lynn McKee and his wife, Jan, and Ralph McKee and his wife, Karen, all of Kent, and Don McKee and his wife, Denise, of Seattle; two brothers, Tom of Spokane and James of Gladstone, Ore.; two sisters, Lulu Winters of Vancouver, Wash., and Frances Kendall of Tacoma; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jo, his second wife, Shirley, and a daughter, Judy Smith.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Panther Lake Community Church, 10630 SE 204th St. in Kent.
The family asks that remembrances be sent to Washington Elks Therapy Program for Children, Memorial Fund, BPO Elks, P.O. Box 66564, Burien, WA 98166.

Robert Beal
Robert Lincoln Beal, 76, of Vaughn died after a long-term illness Jan. 15, 2002, at Park Rose Care Center in Tacoma.
He was born April 15, 1925, in Port Angeles to Cecil and Alice (Smith) Beal. He was a 1946 graduate of South Kitsap High School.
He married Betty Aarshaug on Oct. 25, 1947.
Mr. Beal served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 as an airborne paratrooper in the South Pacific, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Combat Infantry Badge.
He later worked in electrical engineering design for 46 years. He retired from Code 270-2 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in 1985.
Mr. Beal was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4990 and participated in Boy Scouts with his five sons (all Eagle Scouts) and his grandson, Jerry Beal. He received the Silver Beaver Award, scouting's highest award for adults.
Survivors include his wife; his sons, Michael Beal and his wife, Cathy, Dean Beal and his wife, Lori, and Scott Beal and his wife, Cathy, all of Gig Harbor, Bruce Beal and his wife, Lorraine, of Port Orchard and Cecil Beal and his wife, Wendi, of Vaughn; one brother, Ralph of Roseburg, Ore.; one sister, Bernice Mode of Junction City, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. Interment icon will be at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.
Memorial donations may be made to the Vaughn Fire Department.

Florence Mae Muller
Florence Mae Muller, 92, of Port Orchard died Jan. 15, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tacoma.
She was born Oct. 23, 1909, in Seattle to Peter and Helen (Swanson) Swanson.
She married Otto Kemmer on Jan. 21, 1928, in Seattle. They later divorced. He preceded her in death in 1985.
She married Fay Muller on April 23, 1939, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1967.
Mrs. Muller was a life member of the Sons of Norway. She enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Kemmer of Bremerton; two daughters, Barbara (Kemmer) Buckley of Port Orchard and Jessie Lee Muller-Werbelo of Longbranch; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Connie Oberlander.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, also at Miller-Woodlawn.

Floyd Ferguson
Floyd A. Ferguson, 86, of Bremerton died Jan. 16, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 1, 1915, in Van Nuys, Calif., to John and Nina (Wescott) Ferguson.
He and his wife, Jennie, were married on July 19, 1935, in Seattle.
Mr. Ferguson served in the Navy from 1932 to 1935 and from 1941 to 1946, achieving the rank of chief warrant officer second class.
He later worked for the telephone company, retiring in 1959. He also built a 56-foot commercial fishing boat, which he operated for four years.
Mr. Ferguson was a Mason and a member of the Kitsap County Train Club.
Survivors include his wife; one son, John A. of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one daughter, Patricia A. "Trish" Davis of Keyport; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Barbour and a brother, Donald.
A scattering of Mr. Ferguson's ashes will take place aboard his former commercial fishing boat in California. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Bob Campbell
Former Union resident Robert S. "Bob" Campbell, 87, of Helena, Mont., died of a heart attack Jan. 13, 2002, in Helena.
He was born Jan. 5, 1915, in Malone to Ed and Frances Campbell. He graduated from Washington State College in Pullman in 1938.
He married Thelma Flermoen. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Campbell taught at the high school and college levels. He also worked in real estate. His professional life spanned 39 years until his retirement in 1977.
While living in Union, he participated in daily swims with his many friends at the Alderbrook Inn. He also enjoyed rooting for the WSU Cougars. He had played football for WSU and served as captain of the track team there.
Survivors include one son, Steven of Helena; and one grandson, Robert Butterton of Silverdale.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Cammie Butterton of Union.
Memorial donations may be made to WSU Athletic Scholarship Fund, c/o WSU Foundation, Advancement Services, P.O. Box 644102, Pullman, WA 99164-4102.

Dick McGee
Richard D. "Dick" McGee, 81, of Port Orchard died Jan. 14, 2002, at his home.
He was born March 18, 1920, in Halsey, Ore., to Samuel and Emma (Geer) McGee. He graduated in 1938 from Irene S. Reed High School in Shelton.
He married Dorothy L. Rice on May 2, 1942, in Shelton.
Mr. McGee served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, enlisting in 1942 and achieving the rank of sergeant. He was awarded the European African Mid-Eastern Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
He worked at the Bremerton Annex Naval Ammunition Depot, at Naval Submarine Base at Bangor and at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport. In 1974, he retired after 33 years in these positions.
Mr. McGee enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and working with wood. He was a member of Port Orchard Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; his son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Joy McGee of Ellensburg; two sisters, Irene Henderer and Thelma Austin, both of Shelton; and two grandchildren, Erin McGee and Chuck Earle. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Marie (McGee) Earle in 2001.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. Interment icon will be at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.
Memorial gifts may be made to organizations of the donor's preference.

Pudda Richardson
Viola "Pudda" Richardson, 78, of Bremerton died Jan. 13, 2002, in Bremerton.
She was born Nov. 20, 1923, in Binford, N.D., to Arnt and Emma (Milbradt) Ronning. She graduated in 1941 from Cooperstown High School in Cooperstown, N.D.
She married Les Richardson on Aug. 8, 1947, in Bremerton.
Mrs. Richardson was a homemaker.
She was a member of Take Off Pounds Sensibly and the Sons of Norway. She enjoyed bowling and fishing.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Harlan of Bremerton; one daughter, Lee Anita Coleman of Bremerton; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A celebration of her life will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the home of Harlan Richardson, 2019 NE Marina Vista Court in Brownsville (off Paulsen Road).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Evelyn Fisher
Evelyn F. Fisher, 88, of Bremerton died Jan. 13, 2002, at her home.
She was born March 15, 1913, in Minola, Kan., to Otis and Carrie (Bridge) Dillard.
She married Marion L. Fisher on July 3, 1937, in Wapato. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Mrs. Fisher was a homemaker and an artist. She enjoyed writing.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn Brooks of Poulsbo; one brother, Eugine Dillard of Yakima; one sister, Charlotte Allen of Siloam Springs, Ark.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, Ronald L., in 1999; and two brothers, Clyde, Chuck and Steve Dillard.
At her request, no service is planned. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Kitsap County or to the Poulsbo Fire Department.

Jim Myers
James Russel "Jim" Myers, 68, of Bremerton died of lung cancer Jan. 7, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
Before his illness, Mr. Myers lived on Mt. Hull in the Tonasket area. He moved to Bremerton to live with his son, David.
He was born June 17, 1933, in Nardin, Okla., to Russel and Clarissa (Blubauh) Myers.
Mr. Myers had worked for Burlington Northern Railroad and later was an auto mechanic.
He enjoyed many outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and landscaping. He also was a car enthusiast.
Survivors include his former wife, Laura Logan of Bremerton; one son, David of Bremerton; three brothers, Pat of Tonasket, Mike of Chino Valley, Ariz., and Tom of Oakville; six sisters, Jean Johnson of Golden Valley, Ariz., Ann Hamody of Caldwell, Idaho, Helen Crooks of Caldwell, Texas, Marie Boze of Poulsbo; Lillian Younker of Tonasket and Rosalie Brevard of Aberdeen.
At his request, there will be no service. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.
