Georgia Foster
Georgia Moore Foster, 89, of Bainbridge Island died March 17, 2002, on Bainbridge Island.
She was born July 5, 1912, in Ayden, N.C., to Churchill and Venetia (Baker) Moore. She graduated from Eastern Carolina University in Greenville, N.C., in 1932.
She married Clinton Foster on Sept. 2, 1942, in Virginia Beach, Va. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Mrs. Foster retired in 1976 after a 25-year teaching career.
She was a member of Eagle Harbor Congregational Church on Bainbridge Island and the Bainbridge Island Senior Community Center.
Survivors include a son, Tom Foster of Issaquah; two sisters, Marie Pittman and Sallie Davis, both of Goldsboro, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eagle Harbor Congregational Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Kitsap County, P.O. 3416, Silverdale, WA 98383-3416.

Joyce Strauss
Joyce M. Strauss, 69, of Port Orchard died March 14, 2002, at her home.
She was born Nov. 24, 1932, in Orange, Mass.
She married Peter A. Strauss. He preceded her in death in 1994.
Mrs. Strauss was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Ernest Vansaw of Ohio; two daughters, Andrea L. Flores of Port Orchard and Deborah Vansaw of Westerville, Ohio; a brother, Donald Allen of New Hampshire; a sister, Janice Alcaras of Hawaii; and four grandchildren, Zach Ziebel, Marc Vansaw and Spencer and Madison Flores; three nieces and two nephews.
A private service will be held Saturday at her home. Inurnment is under the direction of Kitsap Cremation & Burial Society.
Memorial donations may be made to Kitsap Humane Society, 9167 Dickey Road NW, Silverdale, WA 98383.

Ruth Siegert
Ruth Irene Siegert, 82, of Port Orchard died March 19, 2002, at Port Orchard Care Center.
She was born Nov. 20, 1919, in Yakima to Archibald and Lela (Gifford) Thompson.
She married Carl Siegert. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Mrs. Siegert enjoyed playing piano, gardening and sewing.
Survivors include a son, Ed Hinchey of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Beverly Beckner and Sharon Hamilton, both of Port Orchard; a sister, Betty Boink of Port Orchard; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will be at Fraola cemetery in Olalla. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Donna Watters
Donna Ruby Watters, 84, of Bremerton died March 19, 2002, in Bremerton.
She was born March 18, 1918, in Sacramento, Calif., to Dimitrius Daryl and Gladys Clare (Hamrick) Davis. She had attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif.
She served as the church organist at First Christian Church of Fruitridge Road in Sacramento for 60 years.
She also enjoyed teaching piano in Sacramento for 10 years. She is said to have played piano by ear and with "perfect pitch."
Survivors include two sons, Curtis Carter of Poulsbo and Perry M. Carter of Dana Point, Calif.; a daughter, Sydney Lynn Bass and her husband, Richard, of Sacramento; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two previous husbands, Carol C. Carter and Robert Louis Watters; a brother, Daryl Davis of Sacramento; and a sister, Marjorie Paul of Sacramento.
Arrangements are by The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo.
Memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church of Fruitridge Road, 4445 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento, CA 95820.

John Mey
John Edward Mey, 85, of Bremerton died of heart failure March 16, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Nov. 5, 1916, in South Colby to Edward and Margaret (Dowd) Mey. He graduated from high school in Granite Falls in 1934.
He married Signe Engstrom. She preceded him in death in 1998.
Mr. Mey worked for 40 years building and operating 29 sawmills. He also patented and operated a gold mine; and worked as a diesel mechanic at both Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and at the Naval Submarine Base at Bangor. He retired from Bangor in 1978.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and prospecting.
Survivors include a son, Alan of Laughlin, Nev.; a brother, Jim of Silverdale; two sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Helen Frye, both of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruby Eyler.
A memorial service is planned from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sandpiper Restaurant, 3113 NW Bucklin Hill Road in Silverdale.
Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 4414 Woodland Park Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98103-7499.

Florence Lentz
Florence Evelyn Lentz, 76, of Port Orchard died of heart failure March 16, 2002, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Port Orchard to Edgar and Emma (Stone) Anderson. She had attended South Kitsap High School.
She married Glen Lentz. He died in 1999.
Mrs. Lentz was a homemaker. She was a member of Washington Old Time Fiddlers, the Associated Clubs of Waterman and Elim Lutheran Church, both in Port Orchard.
Survivors include a son, Don Lentz of Olympia; a daughter, Sonia Lee Cabrera of Georgia; a brother, Ed Anderson of Port Orchard; a sister, Blanche Clark of Pe Ell; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 14 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Pal Lentz; a brother, Lewis Anderson; and a sister, Grace Steele.
A social gathering in remembrance of Florence Evelyn Lentz will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on April 6 at the Associated Clubs of Waterman on East Hillcrest Drive near Elim Lutheran Church in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to Associated Clubs of Waterman, P.O. Box 713, Manchester, WA 98353.

Velvet Eko-Bronson
Velvet June Eko-Bronson, 45, of Bremerton died March 1, 2002, at her home.
She was born Aug. 9, 1956, in Seattle to Herbert Eko and Patricia Poirier. She had attended North Seattle Community College.
She married Robert D. Bronson on Oct. 25, 1981, in Lynnwood.
She was a member of North Seattle Families of Multiples.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Ian P. Bronson of Bremerton; two daughters, Cheyenne L. Bronson of Bremerton and Adeleinea J. Bronson of Seattle; and four brothers, Walt Poirier of Lynnwood, Randy Poirier of Seattle, Mike Poirier of Bellingham and Robert Poirier of Vancouver, Wash.

Lloyd Gerrish
Lloyd Jackson Gerrish, 85, of Bremerton died March 12, 2002, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center in Bremerton.
He was born May 12, 1916, in Rochester, Mass., to Fred and Alberta (Howes) Gerrish. He graduated from Wareham High School in Wareham, Mass., in 1935.
He married Dorothy M. Tomasik on June 29, 1941, in Rochester.
Mr. Gerrish served from 1943 to 1945 with the 13th Army Air Force Emergency Rescue Boat Squadron as a staff sergeant. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon.
He later worked as a stockroom manager with a Pontiac dealership, retiring in 1976.
Mr. Gerrish was a member of Colby United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Marjorie Tennant of Silverdale, Sally Gerrish of Wareham and Polly Valley of Bremerton; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Arvon.
A service is planned for 1 p.m. May 11 in Rochester. Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Gerrish's name to the Colby United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

Jeanette Moseid
Jeanette D. Moseid, 68, of Port Orchard died March 17, 2002, at her home.
She was born March 17, 1934, in Fargo, N.D., to Violet and Arne Romsland.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, helping and giving to others, traveling and collecting antiques. She was an active member of the Christian Life Center in Port Orchard.
Survivors include her husband, Dave Nelson; her seven children, Doug Eide, Rick Eide, Pamela Tucker, Steve Eide, Sandy Scofield, Jon Eide and Jo-Lee Scott; a brother, Marv; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Christian Life Center, 1780 SE Lincoln Ave. in Port Orchard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.

Kristi Keck
Former Kingston resident Kristi Lynn Miser Keck, 51, of Startup, Wash., died March 16, 2002, at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland.
She grew up in Kingston and had lived her adult life in Startup.
She is survived by her husband, Don; two stepchildren, Lalani Green of Olney, Md., and Dean Keck of Roy; her mother, Patricia C. Miser of Lake Stevens; a sister, Cheryl Bosma of Everett; and a brother, Dave Miser of Hoodsport.
Services will be at The Rock Church in Monroe on Thursday at 1 p.m.

Herschel Barber
Herschel Delbert Barber, 83, of Bremerton died March 15, 2002, at Port Orchard Care Center.
Mr. Barber was born Aug. 8, 1918, in Winnett, Mont., to Benjamin Clark and Bessie (Connelly) Barber.
He married Florence Mae Bailey on April 23, 1943, in Bremerton.
He graduated from Winnett High School in 1936 and attended welder school.
Mr. Barber served in the Navy from July 1944 to February 1946, achieving the rank of shipfitter second class. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and Asiatic Pacific Ribbon.
He was a foreman-welder at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring after 32 years.
Mr. Barber volunteered at the Bremerton Naval Museum and took five-mile walks around Bremerton daily. He was active in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a Protestant.
He is survived by his wife, Florence of Bremerton; a daughter, Celia Kirkland and her husband, Richard, of Pottsboro, Texas; a sister, Alberta Kamsack of Great Falls, Mont.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Beerman and Ina Comstock.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. today at Lewis Chapel in Bremerton. The graveside service begins at 3 p.m. today, also at Lewis Chapel, and will be followed by military honors at the gravesite in Forest Lawn cemetery in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Bremerton.
Remembrances may be made to the Bremerton Naval Museum, 130 Washington Ave., Bremerton, WA 98337.
