Loretta Geer
Longtime Bremerton resident Loretta M. Geer, 93, died Dec. 5, 1998, at Naval Hospital Bremerton.
She was born Aug. 10, 1905, in Anaconda, Mont., to Patrick and Marie Marron.
Mrs. Geer was a past president of the Gold Star Mothers, a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Geer of Bremerton; two sons, Robert Carlson and James Carlson Sr., both of Bremerton; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Carlson, and a son, Jack Carlson.
Viewing will be at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 14, with funeral services following at 10 a.m., both at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Arrangements are by Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Kathryn Conrad
Former longtime Hansville resident Kathryn Jessie (McArdle) Conrad, 84, died Dec. 6, 1998, in Puyallup.
She was born May 30, 1914, in Quilcene. In 1941, she graduated from the University of Washington.
Mrs. Conrad was a past president of the UW Faculty Wives and the DA P.E.O. Chapter in Seattle, a member of the GI P.E.O. Chapter in Poulsbo and the AN P.E.O. Chapter in Puyallup. She was also a principal soloist in the Carl Pitzer Choir at the University Christian Church for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Hinkle of Bainbridge Island and Kathryn Spence of Puyallup; a brother, Willard McArdle; five grandchildren, Carolyn Scharer, Carl and Rebecca Spence, Megan Kenney and Brian Hinkle; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ernest M. Conrad, in 1994.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 12 at the First Presbyterian Church of Puyallup.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the P.E.O. Foundation, c/o Marilyn Bernd, 12215 138th Ave. E, Puyallup, WA 98374.

Carole Belleci
Carole Rae Belleci, 64, of Silverdale died Dec. 4, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 28, 1934, in Wallace, Idaho, to William and Velma (Briggs) Bell. She was raised and educated in Bremerton, graduating from Bremerton High School in 1953.
On Sept. 14, 1962, she married Francis "Frank" Belleci Jr. in Shelton.
Mrs. Belleci worked for the government for 32 years. She retired from Naval Submarine Base Bangor as an inventory accuracy officer in 1994.
She was a member of the Bremerton High School class of 1953 planning committee.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Patrick of Oregon; a daughter, Ami of Lynnwood; a sister, Jeanette Jinks of Oregon; and three grandchildren, Joshua Arnot and Chelsea and Shane Belleci.
At the family's request, no services will be conducted. Cremation will be at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Kitsap Humane Society, 9167 Dickey Road NW, Silverdale, WA or to the American Cancer Society, 1551 Broadway, Suite 200, Tacoma, WA 98402-3332. Please designate for breast cancer research.

Gerald Spreier
Gerald Eugene Spreier, 60, of Bremerton died Dec. 5, 1998.
He was born June 10, 1938, in Lincoln, Neb. He was raised and educated in Bremerton, graduating from Bremerton High School in 1956.
In 1974, he married Linda M. Spreier in Olympia.
Mr. Spreier worked as a quality assurance specialist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 35 years, retiring in 1996.
He was a fourth-degree member and past Grand Knight of Council No. 1379 Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David of Bremerton; two daughters, Theresa and Shari, both of Bremerton; a stepson, Raymond of Biloxi, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Kris of Biloxi, Miss., and Margaret of Seattle; a brother, Robert of Seattle; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 11 at Miller Woodlawn Chapel.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Patricia Ross
Patricia Lee Ross, 55, of Kingston died Dec. 7, 1998, at her home.
She was born June 22, 1943, in San Diego to Glenn and Virginia (Jordan) Robertson. She was raised in California. She was a graduate of Evergreen State College in Olympia.
On Nov. 11, 1989, she married David Ross in Chehalis.
Mrs. Ross worked as a vocational rehabilitation specialist in Bremerton.
She was the first volunteer with the Chehalis Hospice and a member of the Eagles in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Survivors include her husband; and five sisters, Irene of Seattle, Linda of Olympia, Karen of Shelton, Donna of Denver and Norma of Vancouver, Wash.
At her request, no services will be conducted. Cremation will be at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
Arrangements are by Poulsbo Mortuary, "The Stone Chapel."

Michael Brodersen
Michael "Mike" George Brodersen, 53, of Bremerton died Dec. 3, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital, as a result of complications from diabetes.
He was born May 9, 1945, in Seattle to Richard and Virginia (Logg) Brodersen. He was raised and educated in Bremerton, graduating from West Bremerton High School in 1964. He later received an associates degree in engineering from Olympic College.
Mr. Brodersen was in the parts business for more than 30 years. He was a government contracting specialist for the past 20 years, selling parts to bases in the United States and overseas.
He was active in the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts, attaining the rank of Life Scout.
Survivors include two sons, Michael of Port Orchard and Richard of Everett; a sister, Jeannie Johnson of Ocean Shores; and his companion, Genavie Price of Bremerton.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 12 at Lewis Funeral Chapel, with a reception immediately following. Cremation will be at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Puget Sound Region, 557 Roy St., Lower Level, Seattle, WA 98109-4219.

Lorraine Hoffman
R. Lorraine Hoffman, 73, of Port Orchard died Nov. 25, 1998, of congestive heart failure.
She was born Aug. 5, 1925, in East Portal, Colo., to Kenneth and Alice (Barker) Cox. She was raised in Brighton, Colo. She attended South Kitsap High School from 1941 to 1942.
On Oct. 16, 1943, she married Harlan "Red" Hoffman in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Mrs. Hoffman was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Ron of Burley, Idaho, and Perry of Ocean Shores; three daughters, Charlotte Bach of Port Orchard, Jean Campbell of Bayview, Idaho, and Cindy Michener of Sunnyslope; 14 grandchildren, eight in Kitsap County, five in Idaho, and one in Montana; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 12 at First Lutheran Church, 2483 Mitchell Road SE, Port Orchard. Interment icon will be at Sunset Lane cemetery.
Arrangements are by Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Clarence Groves
Clarence Cleveland Groves, 75, of Belfair died Dec. 2, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 25, 1923, in Monroe to James and Mary Ann (Uchytil) Groves. He was raised in Snohomish, attending Snohomish High School.
On Dec. 1, 1941, he married Eleanor Crawford in Seattle.
Mr. Groves served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 in Germany. Following the war, he worked at Lockheed, Todd and Puget Sound Naval shipyards, retiring in 1978 as a boilermaker/welder.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Antone of Bremerton; two daughters, Eleanor Gladue of Kent and Bonnie Jean Hoisington of Farmington, N.M.; six grandchildren, Michelle, Sylvia, Crystal, Jeffery, Amber and Josephine; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny, in 1964.
At the family's request, there will be no services.
Cremation will be at Cherry Grove Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Dean Morey
Dean Dewitt Morey, 104, of Port Orchard died Dec. 6, 1998, at Ridgemont Terrace Convalescent Center of natural causes.
He was born Nov. 21, 1894, in Medford, Ore., to Rolla Ina (Burdick) Morey. He was raised in Portland, Ore.
On June 10, 1924, he married Ida Elizabeth Koski in Seattle. She preceded him in death in 1978.
Mr. Morey worked for The Oregonian newspaper prior to a 33-year career with Pacific Northwest Bell as supervisor of the mailroom. He retired in 1959.
He served as a precinct committeeman for many years in Oregon, was active in the Willamalaners Senior Citizen's Center and was a member of the Barber Shop Chorus for more than 20 years.
Survivors include three sons, Royce of Bremerton, Verne of Puerto Rico, and Norman of Australia; a daughter, Zelda Mortimer of Tucson, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren, Leslie Grossruck of Issaquah, Marla Morey of Seabeck, Mitch Morey of Port Orchard, Melissa Barraugh of Bremerton, Melinda Anthony of Silverdale, Angela Morrison of Tacoma, and six additional grandchildren from California to Massachusetts; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Arrangements are by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
