GEORGIANA N. MILLER
Georgiana Nemetz Miller was born and was named after her two aunts (Georgia) and (Anya). Four years later her sister, Ellen Elizabeth Nemetz was born. They returned to Iowa some years later.

Georgiana and Ellen were educated as teachers. Georgia worked as a teacher during the school year and as a waitress during the summer. One summer in 1932, she waited upon the table of a young college professor named Howard E. M. Miller. Three months later, they were died in 1982. William E. M. Miller death Tues., March 4, 2003.

She leaves behind her daughter, Georgia Rae Lyster (David B.); granddaughters, Virginia E. Lyster and Angela C. Miller; daughter-in-law, Trudi Kleinrath; brother Robert Nemetz (Emily); nephew, Steven Nemetz, and niece, Karen Tulloch. She was an honest and true original. Her like will not be seen again. A memorial service will be Thurs., March 13, 2 p.m. at Beachwood Lounge, Warm Beach Manor, Stanwood. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood.

ARVILLA M. FOLDEN
Arvilla Marie (Howick) Folden was married Peter T. Folden in 1938, and had 52 wonderful years of marriage before Peter born April 12, 1925, in Moberly Missouri. He death.

He is survived by one daughter, Rebecca (Thomas) Cox; one grandchild, Jason Steeves (Ashley); one great-grandchild, Micah Steeves, all of Aurora, OR; and one brother, Jack Freelin of Moberly, MO. Bartley served in the US Navy during World War II. He had been a salesman all of his life. He realized the American Dream upon his retirement in 1988 by starting SST Package Express, a small company that thrives today. He was an active member of the Warm Beach Senior Community following his second retirement. Memorial services to be held at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood.

DUANE W. GAINER
Duane W. "Dunk" Gainer, 89, born April 24, 1913, in Snohomish to parents Bess and Cecil Gainer, who preceded him in passed away Feb. 22, 2003 with his family present at his home on Lake Goodwin.

He was born in Riverton Heights, WA April 15, 1978, to Karen Kemnow. He lived with his family in Boulevard Park, WA until moving with his family to Camano Island in 1978. In March of 1979, his dad came into the family’s lives. Jack was always there for his boys, and Scott loved him very much. At the age of 5, Scott, and his family moved to Sedro-Woolley, where he grew up and attended school.

Scott loved to be outdoors and enjoyed hiking and fishing with his brother Garrett. He liked kickin’ back with brother Chris, playing games and maybe having a beer or two, and he and his brother Brian were known to occasionally go out and attempt to "stump jump" in the car. He also liked working at Larry Gadbois' farm, running the "A" tractor and helping with the cattle. He loved visiting with his nieces and spending time with friends.

Scott had a talent for impersonations and enjoyed drawing cartoon characters. When alone, he would read, color, listen to music and play video games. Scott had a need to be useful and liked helping people, especially the elderly, working in their yards and such. He especially liked helping Mary Lou Wright of Camano Island.

When Scott was little boy, he thought he should be able to dig to the center of the earth. His Grandpa Ezra made sure that Scott had all of the "man-sized" shovels and trucks that he needed to pursue that dream.

Scott is survived by his parents, Jack and Karen Smith of Clearlake; brothers Christopher Kemnow of Mount Vernon, Brian Kemnow and Garrett Kemnow, both of Clearlake, and Tim Smith of Chica, CA. He chose to adopt a sister, Shannon Sparks, and is survived by her and her companion Rex Hummel of Oak Harbor; his cherished nieces Kaitlyn Sparks, Kylie Kemnow, and Morgan Kemnow, Shannon's daughters; grandmother Leatice Hanks of Camano Island; great aunt Arlene Braun of Spokane, and great "Auntie" Eleanor Lampoltshamer of Lewiston, ID; grandmother Dorothy Hendrix and companion Art Raynor of Paradise, CA; Aunt Candy and Fred Gray of Kennewick; Scott's "pal" uncle Calvin Hanks of Calallam Bay; Aunt Ruth Van Zandt of Yoncalla, OR; aunt Rochelle Kemnow of Roseburg, OR; cousins Terri DeGraff and her son Jarrod, Carolyn and William Seals, children Maurice and Emily, Wyatt and Annette Hanks and their children Markie and Ashley, Cali Hanks and her family, and other extended family who will miss Scott greatly. Other special people in Scott’s life were Larry D'Arenizo, who was a great inspiration to Scott throughout his life and whom he loved very much, life-long friends Brian George and family, Paul Storres and his family, Ron
Gibson, "Big" Bill Gomes and his son Billy Gomes, Bob York, Sam King, Clay Olson, Brian Koopsen and family, Scott and Jen Bates, Steven and Benjamin Brown, Chris York and Megan Gray, Larry Gadbois and family, Dan Inman and the War Council of Sedro-Woolley and many more friends too numerous to list.

His great-grandma Fern Yates, grandfather Ezra Hanks, grandparents Robert and Juanita Kemnow, and cousin Robert Van Zandt preceded him in born March 4, 1911, in Gross, NE to William A. and Christina (Peterson) Gross. She went to be with her Lord on June 16, 2003.

Sibyl came to the state of Washington with her husband, Howard, and three children in the spring of 1939. She lived for many years in and around Bellingham; moved to Tacoma in 1977, where she lived until 1999. For the last four years she had resided at Josephine Sunset Home in Stanwood. Sibyl was preceded in cemetery.

CORINNE MORRISSEY
Corinne Margaret Morrissey, 85, of Camano Island, born Nov. 19, 1917 in Seattle, WA to Margareta and Hagbert Hansen. Corinne graduated from Ballard High School in 1936 and was united in marriage to Thomas P. Morrissey on May 22, 1937.

Over the years she has worked at Western Union, Totem Pontiac, Kay’s Beauty Salon, and her last job was at the Seattle Credit Bureau. Upon retirement they moved to Camano Island in 1974. Corinne became involved in the South Camano Grange, Mabana Flames, Camano Senior Center and attended Mabana Chapel.

Many friends and family enjoyed her baking and cooking delights. She was an avid reader, bridge and pinochle player and she enjoyed her deck filled with flowers and cactus. Cali the cat was a great companion to her. She was a loving compassionate wife; mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, neighbor and friend who will be miss by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son Patrick Thomas Morrissey and wife Patty of Port Angeles, WA; brother Jack Hansen of Langley, WA; sister Helen Nickolson of Camano Island, WA, four grandchildren: Daryl Morrissey of Bangkok, Thailand, Lisa Hanson of Kingston, WA, Dr. Brian Morrissey and Michelle Morrissey of McMinnville, OR, and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be held 1 p.m. Thurs., June 26, at the Camano Senior and Community Center, Camano Island. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral home, Stanwood.

DENNIS RATHBUN
Feb. 1, 1939 - June 1, 2003
Dennis Rathbun lived most of his life in the Northwest. He was married Vivien Oberg of Arlington, WA in 1961. Their only daughter Cindy Ann was born March 13, 1908, in Seattle. He married Louise Zeh of Tacoma.

Then came WWII. He became an officer in the U.S. Navy with the SeaBees. His unit, the 53rd SeaBees, were responsible for constructing the landing strip on Guam for the B-29's to begin the bombing campaign of Japan. After the war, Gus went to work for US Borax Company (20-mule team) in Boron, CA and became chief mining engineer before retiring and moving to Fallbrook in 1974. He enjoyed playing lots of golf.

He is survived by nephews, Theodore E. and Richard B. Oien of Stanwood, Robert E. and Neil, Sorensen of Bellingham, Jim Sorensen of Ontario, OR, and David Zeh of Allen, WA; and niece, Barbara Mills of Tacoma. His ashes will be given up to the Pacific Ocean by the U.S. Navy.

CLARENCE L. MORRIS
Clarence Lee Morris passed peacefully at his home on Camano Island, surrounded by his wife and children, June 10, 2003.

He was born Nov. 7, 1911, in Darby, Montana. It was there in his beloved Bitterroot Valley, he acquired his love of the outdoors. Clarence was an avid hunter and fisherman. He would readily agree with a fellow Montanan who said, "In our family, there was no clear line between religion and fly fishing" -- Norman Mclean, A River Runs Through It.

As a young man, Clarence also enjoyed skiing. In his later years, he took to golfing with his wife and friends. He attended college briefly before enlisting in the Navy, where he served honorably aboard the USS Hull. Shortly after his discharge, he met Ruby Dorothy (Thue), of Ballard, who became the wife he adored for 59 years.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Ruby Dorothy (Thue); four children, Clare Easterwood of Santa Fe, NM, Randie Morris of Bellevue, WA, Kathy Adams of Kirkland, and Bill Morris of Santa Fe, NM; son-in-law, Scott Adams and beloved granddaughter Casey Lee Adams of Kirkland; sister, Theola Warren of Stevensville, MT; brother, Ed Morris of Spokane; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Clarence's life will be held in the Chalet of Camaloch Estates on Camano Island 1 p.m., Fri., June 20. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be made to Camano Island Fire & Rescue, in memory of Clarence Morris, 525 E. North Camano Dr., Camano Is, WA 98282.
