EDITH ANN FLANIK ALLARD
Oroville
Edith Ann Flanik Allard, 59, of Oroville, died Monday, June 22, 1998, at her home in Oroville. She was born icon Sept. 30, 1938, in Oroville, to parents John and Edna Flanik. Edith was raised in Oroville and graduated from Oroville High School. She married icon Jim Allard in 1959 and they moved to the Snohomish area where they raised their family. They moved back to Oroville in 1997. Edith enjoyed her family and always made time for her children. She is survived by her husband, Jim, of Oroville; three daughters, Diana Luszey and Michelle Kiltoff, both of Snohomish, and Gail Forsberg of Arlington; a brother, Art Flanik of Snohomish; and five grandchildren, Tara, Travis, Donovan, Zachery and Hayden. She was preceded in death by her parents and a baby brother. Bergh Funeral Service of Oroville is in charge of arrangements.

JAMES DALTON CLARK
Portland, Ore.
A private service was held for James Dalton Clark, who drowned June 14, 1998, while fishing on the Clackamas River in Oregon at age 64. Mr. Clark was born icon Feb. 19, 1934, in Grandview. He graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1952. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from the University of Washington. In 1962, he moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where he practiced under the name of JDC Architects & Planners. He moved to Portland in 1987 and was architect/manager for the Portland School District. He married icon Claudette Sullivan Ungerecht, also a WHS 1952 graduate. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Kim Rogers of Vancouver, Wash., Rene Ungerecht of Portland, and Tezlyn of Anchorage; son, Dalton of Anchorage; brother, Andy of Redmond; and two grandchildren. Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests any remembrances to Public Broadcasting. Arrangements were by Wilhelm Funeral Home, Milwaukie, Ore.

KATHERINE RIDLEN KLINE RAUCH
East Wenatchee
Katherine Ridlen Kline Rauch, 92, of East Wenatchee, died Monday, June 22, 1998, at Central Washington Hospital. She was born icon on Nov. 21, 1905, to Joseph and Gertie (Wever) Ridlen at Horace, Kan. She spent many years living in California. In 1978, she moved to East Wenatchee, where she had since lived. She is survived by two daughters, Pat Dobbins and her husband Don, and Peggy Martin; one daughter-in-law, Jessie Kline; two sisters, Eleanor and Alma; nine grandchildren, Greg Martin, Lisa Martin, Bill Dobbins, Bob Dobbins, Karen Marsh, Chas Kline, Jesse Kline, David Kline and Susan Fahrenholtz; 16 great-grandchildren, Jessica Martin, Jordan Martin, Justin Dobbins, Kelly Dobbins, Michael Dobbins, Adam Marsh, Tyler Marsh, Julie Marsh, Matthew Dobbins, David Dobbins, Enos Kline, Jeremie Nelson, Jason Kline, Jess Murdock, Levi Fahrenholtz and Austin Fahrenholtz; and four great-great-grandchildren, Sadie Holmes, Katlin Nelson, Dustin Nelson and Taylor Murdock. She was preceded in death by two sons, Charles E. Kline and Kenneth E. Kline. A private family memorial service will be held. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.

MARGUERITE 'COOKIE' BUSH TRAVIS SADLER
Ephrata
Marguerite "Cookie" Bush Travis Sadler was born icon Aug. 26, 1913, at Gravity, Iowa, and died June 21, 1998. She graduated from Kinman Business College during the early 1930s, while living with her aunt Vesta Bush. She returned to Des Moines, Iowa, to live with another aunt, Eva Finch and attended the University of Iowa for two years. During World War II, she worked at the U.S. Rubber ordnance plant at Ankeny, Iowa. She met Leonard Travis and in 1944 married icon him in Detroit, Mich. They moved to Ephrata in July 1950, where they worked and became charter members at the Lakeview Golf and Country Club. She belonged to the Daughters of the Nile, Spokane, also Eastern Star in Detroit, Chapter Pillar-Mt. Clemens. She worked for 10 years at the Grant County Health Department. She moved to Tucson, Ariz., in January 1973. After Leonard died, she married icon Mr. George Marion Sadler. He was past president of American Airlines. He died September 1983. She moved back to Ephrata in 1991. She is survived by her brother, Wado Bush. She was predeceased by two husbands, her mother and father, a brother and a sister.

WILLARD H. FREEL
Omak
Willard H. Freel, 85, a longtime resident of Omak died on Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999 at Mid-Valley Hospital in Omak. Willard was born icon on March 5, 1913 at Wibaux, MT to Henry and Minnie (Hutchins) Freel. The family moved to Omak in 1930. Willard married icon Freda Marie Myers at Okanogan on Nov. 20, 1937. He worked for the railroad and later was a partner in Freel and Sons, moving houses for many years. In 1955 Willard started working in the factory for Biles-Coleman Lumber Co. He later worked in the plywood plant for Crown Z, retiring in 1977. Willard enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, traveling, family, and friends. He was a member of the Omak Elks and Okanogan Grange, and was past member of the Omak Eagles. Willard was past Omak City councilman. Survivors include his sons, Edward and Gary of Omak; brothers, Amos Freel of Payson, AZ, and Kenny Freel of Omak; sisters, Ceila Trieber of Omak, and Iva Woods of Pateros; five grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Willard was preceded in death by his wife, Freda on Dec. 12, 1994, three brothers, Clyde, Harvey, and Eddie and a sister, Stella Waddington. Precht-Harrison Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

KEARN H. IRELAN
Dryden
Kearn H. Irelan 81, a longtime resident of Dryden, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999 at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. He was born icon to Homer O. and Mae R. (Eller) Irelan at Wilbur, on April 20, 1917. He received his early education at Winesap, Malaga and Chelan. Kearn enlisted in the United States Army in December of 1941 and served in the South West Pacific in 186th Infantry Battalion. After receiving an honorable discharge as a Technical Sergeant in August of 1945 he returned to Chelan County. He went to work for Bonneville Power on the lines and on Sept. 13, 1947 married icon Anne Hutchison at Seattle. The couple moved to Wenatchee and Kearn started a body and fender shop in 1956. He also worked as a logger in the months where weather permitted and in 1958 purchased an orchard in Dryden. Kearn was a lifelong member of the NRA and with his two sons was involved in racing go-carts and motorcycles. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Survivors include his wife Anne Irelan of the family home, two sons; Kevin Irelan of Peshastin and Shawn Irelan and wife Donna Titleman also of Peshastin. Two grandchildren; Trever and Ian Irelan. Sisters; Bernice Beckman of East Wenatchee, Gladys Canterbury of Manson and Maxine Macey of California and also good friend Mary Irelan and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Alfred, two sisters, Agnes & Shirley. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999 at Braun Funeral Home in Cashmere at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Scott Langager officiating. Interment icon to follow at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999 at Braun Funeral Home in Cashmere from 4 to 9 p.m. For those friends that wish, memorials may be made in Kearn's name to the Washington State Alzheimer's Association at 320 King St. Wenatchee, WA 98801. Braun Funeral Home of Cashmere is handling arrangements.

GLADYS M. LEWIS
Colville
Gladys M. Lewis, 89, died on Jan. 24, 1999 at Pinewood Terrace Nursing Home in Colville. She was born icon June 24, 1909 at Spokane to John Owen and Kathryn Ann Davies. Her early life was spent on the family homestead, near Molson. During her junior year of high school, she moved to Kelso, to live with relatives. While there, she met Don Lewis, who had recently moved from Nebraska. They were married icon on Nov. 23, 1927 at Vancouver, WA. During their marriage, they moved often to find employment. Upon retiring they located in Colville. In later life, Gladys completed her education including a degree in Practical Nursing from Columbia Basin College. She worked at the Camp Hanford hospital, at nursing facilities and in a dentist's office, in the Tri-Cities area. Survivors include her children Iris (Linc) Beal of Colville, Wayne (Mary) Lewis of Wenatchee, Rae Anders and Stephen Lewis of Spokane; a sister, Ruth Mortensen of Burns, OR; 26 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; by one son, Kenneth; four brothers Bill, Lloyd, Richard and John; and two sisters, Grace and Ruby. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was active in church work and especially liked to attend the Temple in Bellevue. This wonderful lady will be remembered for her gentle demeanor and the quiet love she had for her family and for the long years of being a patient companion to her husband. She now is and forever will be a pleasant memory in the lives of those who knew her. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 29, 1999 at 1 p.m. at the LDS Church in Colville. Interment icon will follow at Mountain View Park Cemetery icon at Colville. Arrangements are by Danekas Funeral Home, Colville.

LYNN TRELOAR TWITCHELL
Cashmere
Lynn Treloar Twitchell, 87, of Cashmere, a well-known businessman and orchardist, passed away Jan. 23, 1999 at Central Washington Hospital. Born in Spencer, IA, he grew up in Chicago, IL where he graduated from Crane College and the American Institute of Banking. He came to Cashmere during the Depression and worked for the Union Oil Company and then was transferred to Colfax where he met his wife, Erma. Returning to Cashmere in 1941, he purchased an orchard on Flowery Divide. He became associated with Schmitten Lumber Company, eventually serving as general manager and partner until its sale in the early 70s. In 1962, he realized his life-long dream with the purchase of Pearmont Orchards in Dryden. Memberships included the Colfax Masonic Lodge, El Katif Shrine, Rotary, Elks Club and the Washington Athletic Club. He also served as a member of the National Guard, Chelan County Medical Service Board, Keep Washington Green and was a volunteer of the Cashmere Fire Department. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Erma; sons, David of East Wenatchee and Terry of Dryden; daughter, Carol (Corsetto) of Bellevue; five grandchildren, Kristen, Kelsey, and Taylor Twitchell of Dryden; Jeffrey Crosetto of Whitefish, MT and Michael Crosetto of Bellevue. At his request, no services will be held. Memorials may be made to Children's Hospital, PO Box 5371, Seattle, WA 98105 or Shriners Hospital for children, PO Box 2472, Spokane, WA 99210 or a charity of your choice.

JACOB YERKE
Ephrata
Jacob Yerke of Ephrata died Jan. 24, 1999 after an extended illness. He was born icon to Theobolt Yerke and Christina Yerke on Jan. 22, 1911 at Burke. His family moved to Quincy and that was where he spent his early life. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1929. He spent his early years in Quincy doing various jobs. In 1937 he went to work for Johnson Motors in Ephrata as a mechanic. He worked there until 1942 when he joined the U.S. Army Air Force, in which he served four years, two and a half years overseas. He served in England and the European Theater also in North Africa, Tunisia and Libby. He attained the rank of master sergeant and as a crew chief of the B-24 Bomber. He was awarded the bronze star medal also several unit bronze stars. In 1945 he was honorably discharged and then he returned to work at Johnson Motors (as service manager) until 1969 when he went to work at Robinson Thomas as service manager, until 1973 when he retired because of poor health. In 1954 he married icon Lavern Walters. They made their home in Ephrata for 34 years until his wife Lavern passed away in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, and Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by a nephew, Harold Siegrist of Rockville, MD, a nephew, Darrell Anderson, of Wenatchee, and many nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and three brothers, and his wife Lavern Yerke. Graveside services will be Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the Ephrata City Cemetery. Nicoles Funeral Home, Ephrata, is in charge of services.

Willard H. Freel
Willard H. Freel, 85, of Omak, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at the Mid-Valley Hospital in Omak. His family moved to Omak in 1930. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Okanogan Valley Memorial Gardens, with family friend Dan Chambers officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday. Arrangements are by Precht-Harrison Chapel, Omak.

Iona Lucile Greig
Iona Lucile Greig, 87, of Cashmere, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at the Cashmere Convalescent Center. She had lived in Cashmere for 60 years and had worked as a fruit packer. Survivors include two sons, Art Greig and George Greig. There are no services planned. Arrangements are by Braun Funeral Home, Cashmere.

Kearn H. Irelan
Kearn H. Irelan, 81, of Dryden, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at Central Washington Hospital. He was born icon at Wilbur and had lived in Wenatchee before moving to Dryden. He had worked for the Bonneville Power Administration and had owned a body and fender shop. He also worked as a logger and had bought an orchard in Dryden in 1958. Survivors include his wife, Anne Irelan, of the family home; two sons, Kevin Irelan and Shawn Irelan, both of Peshastin; and three sisters, Bernice Beckman of East Wenatchee, Gladys Canterbury of Manson and Maxine Macey of California. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Braun Funeral Home, Chaplain Scott Langager officiating. Interment icon will follow at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Braun Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Braun Funeral Home, Cashmere.

Gladys M. Lewis
Gladys M. Lewis, 89, of Colville, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, in Colville. She had worked at the Camp Hanford hospital, at nursing facilities and in a dentist's office in the Tri-Cities. She and her husband moved to Colville when they retired 25 years ago. Survivors include her sister, Ruth Mortensen of Burns, Ore.; and her children, Iris Beal of Colville, Wayne Lewis of Wenatchee, and Rae Anders and Stephen Lewis, both of Spokane. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Church of Latter-day Saints in Colville. Interment icon will follow at the Mountain View Park Cemetery icon in Colville. Visitation will be prior to the services. Arrangements are by Danekas Funeral Home, Colville.

Grant W. Tigner
Grant W. Tigner, 77, of Ottawa, Canada, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, in Ottawa. He was a former resident of Wenatchee and was an artist. Survivors include his sons, David, Jonathan and Daniel, all of Ottawa; a daughter, Nancy Sutton of Ottawa; and three brothers, Milo of Pomona, Calif., Earl of Carmichael, Calif., and Clifton of Bothell, all former residents of Wenatchee. Services have been held.
