On Aug. 4, 1984, he married icon Zenaida Samonte in San Diego, Calif. Mr. Malicdem Served in the Navy as a boiler technician from 1980 to 1992. Later he worked for the U.S. Post Office in Tacoma as a mail carrier. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Bernardita of the Philippines; three sons, Rozendo of the Philippines, Marlon Caskey of Port Orchard and Noel Samonte of the Philippines; a daughter, Angelica Samonte of the Philippines; three brothers, Ruben, Ignacio Malicdem Jr. and Fely Esperitu, all of the Philippines; and three sisters, Socorro Quisquis, Imelda Vargas and Maria Christina Malicdem, all of the Philippines. Klare Reynoldson
Klare Reynoldson, 83, of Seabeck died June 24, 1998. She was born icon May 25, 1915, in Seabeck. On Jan. 6, 1932, she married icon Richard L. Reynoldson in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1987. Mrs. Reynoldson worked in retail sales for JC Penney Co. in Santa Rosa, Calif., and Portland, Ore., for more than 20 years. Survivors include a daughter, Marlene Mimmo of Sebastopol, Calif.; a brother, Invald Hagen of Seabeck; two sisters, Laura Westeren of Silverdale and Mabel Johnson of Everett; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Connie Kay Baselt, 51, of Bremerton died June 28, 1998. She was born icon May 10, 1947, in Bremerton. She was a high school graduate. Mrs. Baselt made her living as a jewelry sales associate. Charles Ryan
Charles E. Ryan Sr., 90, of Belfair died June 27, 1998. He was born icon April 20, 1908, in Lynch, Neb. Mr. Ryan was a logger. Kyle Carter Bell, 8, of Port Orchard died June 23, 1998. He was born icon on Jan., 11, 1990, in Tacoma. He was a student of South Colby Elementary School in Port Orchard. His interests were soccer and playing the piano. Survivors include his mother, Robbie Bell of Port Orchard; sister Chelsea and brother Jeffrey, both of the family home; grandparents Lee and Betty Bell of Milton; and grandmother Louise Carter of Bremerton. Robert "Bob" H. Carter, 80, of Tracyton died June 23, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born icon on April 11, 1918, in Seattle. He was a high school graduate. On Sept. 13, 1939, he married icon Joyce Hammargren in Manette. Mr Carter served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945. He worked as a planner and estimator for 32 years until his retirement in 1974. Byrl M. Johnson, 66, of Port Orchard died June 25, 1998, at Ridgemont Terrace. She was born icon March 18, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y. On June 18, 1952, she married icon Gaylord Johnson in Seattle. Mrs. Johnson worked for the Kitsap County Assessor's Office until her retirement in 1994. Sievert in Eau Claire, Wis. She operated a bakery with her husband until her retirement. Mr. Linthicum was a field truck driver for Ace Paving for seven years. Clarence Maxwell
Clarence Eldon Maxwell Jr., 82, of Port Orchard died June 23, 1998, at the home of his daughter. He was born icon May 7, 1916, in Newtown, Mo. He graduated from high school in 1934 in Kirksville, Mo. On Jan. 17, 1946, he married icon Helen Lewis in San Diego, Calif. Mr. Maxwell was a machinist mate chief in the Navy for 20 years. He served in World War II and Korea. He later worked as a machinist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until his retirement. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Pat Cooper of Bremerton; two sons, Edward of Naselle and Gary of Edmonds; two brothers, Ted of Oceola, Mo., and Darrell of Hudson, Mich.; a sister, Enid Moots of LaPlata, Mo.; and three grandchildren. Ernest Wilbert Junell, 84, of Bremerton died June 20, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Mr. Junell was born icon Nov. 9, 1913, in Lead, Alaska. In 1936, he married icon Marjorie Bell Brott in Seattle. He was a carpenter in residential construction. Allen Northup
Allen Paul Northup, 87, of Bremerton died June 24, 1998. He was born icon May 30, 1911, in Portland, Ore. Mr. Northup served in the Coast Guard during World War II. In November 1988, he married icon the former Rosita Cadena in Bremerton. He worked in Juneau, Alaska, for 30 years in the sales and service of office machines. Survivors include his wife; a son, Thomas of Idaho; a daughter, Maradie Ticker of Seattle; a stepson, Jerry Cadena of Bremerton; a stepdaughter, Emilie Cadena of Bremerton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Harold Sunderlin
Harold Sunderlin, 90, of Bremerton died June 23, 1998. He was born Aug. 18, 1907, in Lake Andes, S.D. He attended Spirit Lake High School in Idaho, Washington State University and Montana State University. On April 9, 1928, he married icon Ruth Ann Parker in Superior, Mont. Mr. Sunderlin was a business agent for 22 years with the Carpenters Local No. 1597. He retired in 1973. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Glen and Tom, both of Port Orchard; three brothers, Gene of Washington, D.C., Wayne of West Virginia and Jim of Texas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Geneva Kirkbride, 58, of Bremerton died June 22, 1998. She was born icon Nov. 5, 1939, in Steubenville, Ohio. Mrs. Kirkbride was a homemaker. William Shelden
William Lester Shelden, 85, of Bremerton died June 22, 1998. He was born icon March 19, 1913, in Hooker, Mo. On Columbus Day, 1944, he married icon Esther Ernst in Shelton. Mr. Shelden served in the Seabees from 1944 until the end of World War II as a carpenter's mate, first class. He later worked for the Bremerton School District as a carpenter for 20 years. He retired in 1975. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kathy Legarski of Gig Harbor; two sons, Lee of Roseberg, Ore., and Lauren of Bremerton; numerous brothers and sisters; and eight grandchildren. Andrew Davaduk
Andrew Davaduk, 79, of Seattle died June 22, 1998. He was born icon April 27, 1919, in Springfield, Mass. He was a resident of Bremerton for over 40 years. Mr. Davaduk served 20 years active duty in the Navy. He later worked 20 years at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until retiring in 1976. Survivors include a daughter, Andrea Nolan of Seattle; two sisters, Emily and Mary Demorascki, both of Massachusetts; and two grandchildren. Edwin Sather
Edwin "Ed" Charles Sather, 67, of Sequim died June 21, 1998. Mr. Sather was born icon May 27, 1931, in Bremerton. He graduated from Bremerton High School. He then attended Olympic College He served in the Air Force for three years. Upon his release he continued his education at the University of Washington. He was employed with the Washington State Department of Highways until 1960, when his family and former wife Sharon DeMierio moved to Alaska. There, he worked for the Alaska highways department until his retirement in 1988. Survivors include his wife, Maureen; three daughters, Debra Grogan of Palmer, Alaska, Vickie Winter of Fort Erwin, Calif., and Susan Johnson of Juneau, Alaska; five stepsons, Jeff Hoffman of Gig Harbor and Brian Hoffman, William Hoffman, David Hoffman and Darrel Hoffman, all of Port Orchard; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Robert Clarence Lunde, 52, of Port Angeles died June 12, 1998, at Harborview Hospital in Seattle. He was born icon July 8, 1945, in Madison, Wis. He was raised in Kitsap County, graduating from North Kitsap High School. He served in the Army from 1964 to 1968. He later was a cook for retired, disabled adults. Survivors include two brothers, Dennis of Poulsbo and Steven of Kingston; a sister, Leilani of Applegate, Calif.; and his parents, Ray and Audrey Lunde of Auburn, Calif. Herbert L. Torgrimson, 82, of Bremerton died June 20, 1998. He was born icon Oct. 15, 1915, in McNally, Alberta, Canada. He was a high school graduate. On June 2, 1957, he married icon his wife Ruth in Bremerton. He retired from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Survivors include a brother, Henry of Puyallup; and three sisters, Gladys Darling of Central City, Pa., Olive Lee of Albuquerque, N.M., and Marjorie Deatry of Puyallup. George Nelson
George Nelson, 73, of Bremerton died June 20, 1998. He was born icon Feb. 22, 1925, in Herrin, Ill. In September 1953, he married icon his wife Lillian. Mr. Nelson served in the Navy from 1943 to 1968, retiring as a welder. He will be buried icon at sea.

Rosella Curfman
Rosella C. Curfman, 86, of Bremerton died June 15, 1998, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center. She was born icon on Dec. 18, 1911. She graduated from high school in Forgan, Okla. On May 23, 1937, she married icon Orvel J. Curfman in Dodge City, Kan. She is survived by one daughter, Orvella Jean Banach of Bremerton; one sister, Mrs. Jerry McCamon of Chula Vista, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. James Miller
James Alvin Miller, 57, of Port Angeles and formerly of Port Orchard, died June 11, 1998, at home. He was born icon May 8, 1941, in Lebanon, Ore. Mr. Miller served in the Navy for 21 years, retiring in 1980. He is survived by three sons, Scot, David and Bruce, all of Oregon; and two grandchildren. Betty Keller
Betty Keller, 89, of Rock Rapids, Iowa, died May 27, 1998, at Rock Rapids Health Centre. She was born icon April 18, 1909, near Walnut Grove, Minn. She was a high school graduate. In 1931, she married icon Frank Keller. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra of Bremerton; and one sister, Pearl Roach of Rock Rapids, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1953. Harold Adkisson
Harold Willard Adkisson, 79, of Silverdale died June 16, 1998. He was born icon Feb. 16, 1919, in Carroll, Nebraska. On Oct. 5, 1945, Mr. Adkisson married icon the former Virginia E. Collins in Tacoma. He was a paratrooper in World War II in the European theater from 1941 to 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He later worked for the city of Seattle in the Sanitation Department. He retired as manager for Brem-Air Disposal after 20 years of service. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Patricia Underwood of Pasco; a son, Kenneth Adkisson of Tracyton; two sisters, Karel and Shirley, both of Seattle; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Loural Nelson
Loural A. Nelson, 63, of Bremerton died June 17, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Mr. Nelson was born icon Feb. 2, 1935, in Graceville, Minn. He graduated from high school in Longmont, Colo., and received his degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. On March 4, 1962, he married icon the former Ethyl Mae Boettcher at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Neb. He served with the Army Corps of Engineers, spending several years in Hanau, Germany. He worked as a civilian in military construction at missile bases in Nebraska and North Dakota. He also worked for the Navy at Whidbey Island and in Bremerton for the Trident construction project. He retired in 1989 as the director of construction for the Trident Submarine Base in Kings Bay, Ga., after 33 years of government service. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Deborah Willis of Port Angeles; a brother, Ronald Nelson of Germany; and a sister, Eldeen Fillmer of Grand Junction, Colo; and his father, Alton Nelson of Grand Junction, Colo. Ronald Erickson, 57, of Las Vegas, Nev., died June 12, 1998. He was born icon March 27, 1941, in Crookston, Minn. Mr. Erickson was a bar owner. Margery Wicklund
Margery Wicklund, 90, of Hansville died June 12, 1998. She was born icon April 11, 1908, in Yelm. On April 11, 1931, she married icon Arvid B. Wicklund in Seattle. Survivors include a daughter, Joan Whitworth of Hansville; two brothers, Edward Loidhamer of Juneau, Alaska, and Joe Loidhamer of Jovita, Wash.; two sisters, Julia Hegnes of Sequim and Cecilia Landaker of Auburn; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. John McDermott
John J. McDermott, 75, of Poulsbo died June 17, 1998. He was born icon March 4, 1923, in Montreal, Canada. On June 12, 1948, he married icon the former Irene Blampied, in Cartierville, Quebec. Mr McDermott served from 1938 to 1944 in the Canadian infantry in the European theater. He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad in Montreal, Canada. He then worked for 17 years at Youngstown Sheet and Tube in Ohio. He retired in 1986 as the corporate manager for General Electric's transportation department in Bridgeport, Conn., following 12 years of service. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael of Poulsbo and Norman of Stamford, Conn.; a sister, Eileen McQuaid of Nepean, Ontario, Canada; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be noon to 4 p.m. June 20 at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel, 22272 Foss Road NE, Poulsbo. At Mr. McDermott's request, there will be no services. James McCorkle
James Fleming McCorkle, 81, of Belfair died June 14, 1998, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center. He was born icon October 4, 1916, in Centralia. Mr. McCorkle served in the Navy during World War II. He later Worked as a welder at Shop 26 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Survivors include his wife, the former Lillian Clubb; three children, William of Belfair, Kathy Patterson of Longbranch and Sally Adams of South Bend; a sister, Dorothy Normand of Lacey; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Dennis Fry
Dennis E. Fry, 44, of Bremerton died June 14, 1998, at his home. He was born icon Nov. 3, 1953, in Pittsburgh, Penn. He graduated from Mercer High School in 1971. On Aug. 17, 1984, he married icon Ivis Annetta Bates in Bremerton. Mr. Fry served in the Navy from 1980 to 1985. Later he worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a supply keeper. Tillie M. Novotney, 97, of Poulsbo died June 14, 1998, at Martha and Mary Nursing Home. She was born icon January 28, 1901, in Green Valley, Calif. She married icon Harry J. Novotney in 1919 in San Francisco. She was a homemaker. Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine Story of Charleston, S.C.; a son, Harry Novotney of Poulsbo; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband. Marvel M. Loop, 52, of Port Orchard died June 8, 1998. She was born icon August 16, 1945, in Bremerton. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1963. Carmen E. Hume, 79, of Bremerton died June 14, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hume was born icon Jan. 1, 1919, in Browns Valley, Minn. She attended Olympic College from 1963-64. On Dec. 25, 1943, she married icon Robert J. Hume in Kelso. He preceded her in death. James Streutker
James Henry Streutker, 76, of Bremerton died June 14, 1998, at his home. He was born icon April 4, 1922, in Oak Harbor. On Sept. 5, 1942, he married icon Elizabeth Kellogg. Mr. Streutker worked for Sears in the automotive department for more than 40 years, retiring in 1982. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Norman of Auburn and David of Bremerton; three daughters, Maxine Simmons of Newport, Linda Jordan and Jamie Streutker, both of Bremerton; two brothers, Raymond and William, both of Bremerton, a sister, Ellen Nelson of Seattle; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Alexander Johnson
Alexander Donald Johnson, 65, of Bremerton died June 14, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Mr. Johnson was born icon April 26, 1933, in Fall River, Mass. He attended Brooklyn College and graduated from Southern Illinois University. On Sept. 23, 1963, he married icon Norma Marie Johnson in Loudonville, Ohio. He served 34 years in the Navy as a warrant officer and retired from Tracor/Vitro in May 1997 after 12 years. Survivors include a son, Dirk Johnson of University Place; a daughter, Heather Johnson of Bremerton; two sisters, Judith Johnson and Lynda Johnson, both of #Mattapoisett, Mass.; and one grandson. Wesley Sutton
Wesley L. Sutton, 67, of Bremerton died June 15, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born icon Feb. 16, 1931, on Vashon Island. On August 3, 1963, he married icon Joanne Sutton. Mr. Sutton served in the Army from 1951 to 1954. He later worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a rigger until he retired in 1976. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ricky Sutton of Everett and John Sutton of Bremerton; a daughter, Cheryl Sutton of Poulsbo; a sister, Marilyn Schlichting of Bremerton; and one grandchild. Richard Biss
Richard E. "Dick" Biss, 60, of Port Orchard died June 14, 1998, in Bremerton. He was born icon Feb. 28, 1938, in Nanty Glo, Pa. He graduated from Shedd High School in Shedd, Ore., and from Carlsbad Junior College in Carlsbad, Calif. He married icon Louella M. Sullivan in Port Orchard. Mr. Biss was an operations manager for Pacific Northwest Energy Company for 24 years. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Debbie Parish of Eugene, Ore., Lisa Hall of Port Orchard, Cyndy Louvier of North Manchester, Ind., Pam Stuart of Poulsbo and Kari Sorensen of Clallam Bay; his mother, Stella Crowe of Albany, Ore.; two sisters, Nancy Coon of Shedd and Pat Foesch of Salem, Ore.; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Landon Huffman
Landon Wilbur Huffman, 86, of Bremerton died June 14, 1998, at his home. He was born icon Nov. 1, 1911, in Jefferson City, Mo. He was a high school graduate. He served 30 years in the Navy, retiring as a lieutenant commander. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor aboard the USS Utah and a Midway survivor. In 1933, he married icon his wife, Lois, in San Diego. She preceded him in death in 1991. Survivors include a daughter, Tommy Ann Huffman-Szretter of Hansville; a son, Landon of Kent; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. James Hampton
James William Hampton, 77, of Hansville died June 16, 1998, of Port Orchard Care Center. He was born icon Nov. 13, 1920, in Snohomish. He attended Sultan and Gold Bar schools. He married icon Belma Harris on Nov. 14, 1944, in Oxford, N.C. He served in the Army during World War II (from 1942 to 1946). Mr. Hampton was a quality control supervisor at Boeing for 35 years, retiring in 1983. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Rose of Port Orchard; and two grandchildren. Herschel Brown
Herschel Earl Brown, 63, of Bremerton died June 11, 1998. He was born icon December 18, 1934, in Belfair. On June 4, 1992, he married icon Lyla L. Brown in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Mr. Brown served in the Army from 1952-1956. He worked at PSNS as a nuclear power instructor for 20 years, retiring in 1975. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Herschel D. Brown of Arkansas and Jim D. Brown Edler of Port Orchard; three stepsons, Metz, Dale and Rob Abbott, all of Silverdale; six brothers, Richard D. of Port Orchard, Arnold G. of Seattle, Howard J. of Belfair and Lance, Jerry and Mike, all of Bremerton; a stepdaughter, Anna C. Bresette of Silverdale; two sisters, Carol Larson of Silverdale and Linda Bourne of Seattle; and 10 grandchildren. A wake will be at noon June 20 at 4545 Jarstad Dr., Bremerton, WA.

Win Williams
Win F. Williams, 89, of Port Hadlock died June 14, 1998, in Quilcene. He was born icon January 17, 1909 in Chimacum. He attended the University of Puget Sound. Mr. Williams was an electrician for 40 years and retired from the Crown Zellerbach mill in Port Townsend. On October 29, 1933, he married icon Edna B. Nelson in Chimacum. Survivors include his son, Robert of Port Hadlock; three daughters, Carol Moulton of Magic, Idaho, Donna Love of McKenna and Annie (Barbara) Skipper of Issaquah; and seven grandchildren.
